"Uber cool Port Douglas The heat's been turned up in Port Douglas with the reasonably new QT resort. It's not beach side but with all the relaxing by the in-house lagoons, the juicy citrus tones and staff dressed in bright Hamptons style, who is going to leave the hotel anyway? Make use of the gorgeous vintage-style bicycles - and take them all around town - and use of the lap pool, gym and tennis courts to keep bikini trim. 170 rooms, plus a couple of exclusive villas, are decked in mainly whites, with bright colour pops in cushions and towels. The lobby is really appealing, a place to hang out rather than just sign in and move on. The hotel brings a cool new edge to this tropical town. It's a bit of a discerning young person's hotel, perfect for those looking to do the tropics in style, away from the madding crowds in the centre of town."

We stayed at the Oaks with another couple and were very impressed. Clean, well maintained grounds and very helpful and friendly staff. Breakfast was lovely. The pool was fabulous, clean and warm! Our room was very clean and bed was comfortable. Fan and aircon in the room so always nice and cold. We had a little balcony with a lovely view. We had dinner at the resturant and the pizza and aranchini were delish!

We had a fabulous time and want to commend the entire staff at Oaks for being so extremely friendly and helpful. Ginny on the reception desk was so welcoming and informative. She made our whole experience so wonderful and memorable. Also, a shout out to Justin who went above and beyond serving us at Oak and Vine and for helping us with the wifi. The staff at breakfast at Lilypad served amazing food and provided exceptional service. The whole resort was beautiful and great value for money. SR coaches provided the best service to and from the airport and into town. Thanks very much to everyone!

A tropical oasis. The lovely Ginny welcomed us at reception today and we were greeted with such kindness. Her help really made our day! Our family had such a relaxing time at this resort. Thanks a lot. We’ll be back!

The Oaks Resort looks good on paper, but they don't deliver. Most staff members are excellent and try to assist, but the persistent issues spoil the experience. I had to reprogram my door key card three times, there was no hot water in the shower on the second day, and there's no drinking water provided in the rooms—you have to walk to reception to get some. Additionally, the steam iron in the room leaks water everywhere when using the steam function. I'm here on a business team-building exercise, but I won't be rushing back.

We had an enjoyable stay at this resort. |The staff were very friendly and helpful. |The apartment was comfortable, and it was great having a washer and drier.|The resort is set in lush gardens, which are well maintained. |The pool is lovely, and the swim up bar was great to cool down with a drink in the heat.|Our stay included breakfast and one complimentary drink per person, which was a bonus.|The breakfast chef was great, keeping the food flowing.|Our only suggestions for improvement are:|*No wifi in our poolside apartment. We could only get wifi in the main area of the resort. |An extender would solve this problem. |*Pool towels shortage.|These points have been raised by other reviews on Trip Advisor.|Other than that, we had a very enjoyable stay.|

We stayed for 10 nights in January 2025 and loved it, The food was absolutely delicious, we had evening meals on 3 occasions and breakfast daily which Grant the chef made sure was always topped up with fresh food. Rooms are a little old but air con worked well and beds were super comfy. Check in was very easy with everything ready for us when we arrived.

This is a 3 star resort which with some tlc could be great.|Pros|Publicly accessible buildings are well maintained|Breakfast is buffet style with plenty of choices |Staff are excellent ; accommodating and professional |Shuttle bus service to town centre is regular and efficient ( $9 return per person)|Cons|Not much close by and a long walk into town|Beds are very soft; not good if you have a bad back|Room blocks are run down and in need of painting |Pool bar needs cleaning and the gardens need maintenance

After a recent stay at The Oaks Port Douglas, I cannot recommend this resort to anyone expecting good customer service, good hygiene, and an overall good time. We (a family) booked a two-bedroom/two-bathroom apartment, which we received, but it did not include breakfast or housekeeping, as we knew. On arrival, we were told they would include a mid-stay service—amazing. On that day, housekeeping came in, emptied bins, replenished coffee, and took the bath towels. However, they did not sweep the floor, make the beds (which were tidied before we left for the day), or replace the bath towels. We went down to reception to express our dissatisfaction, only to be told that (from mid-January) it is the off-season, so there is minimal staff and a towel shortage. Three times I had to ask for bath towels that day, only to be given two for three of us. Upside to the resort: Removed from the main street but a shuttle is available for a fee. Great parking. Great price point! Downside: The pool was not refreshing and more like bathwater. The pool bar has limited hours and no poolside service, so glasses remained on tables and poolside all day. Pool towels are extremely rare; wash and reuse yours. Pre-book breakfast; otherwise, you will be charged $5 extra per person for walk-ins. The dinner restaurant menu is very minimal unless you like pizza. The bed in the master bedroom was the oldest, squeakiest, and softest I have ever experienced. The overhead kitchen cabinet posed a safety risk as it was loose and about to fall off the wall. No broom and only a dustpan which was stored in the kitchen dish rack!
