Oaks Townsville Metropole Hotel

First time staying with the Oaks TSV Metropole for work (and first time to Townsville) and while the rooms are a little dated, what makes up for that is the level of customer service and care the team offered during my stay. I felt looked after by the staff from the cleaning team to front of house who were all exceptional; an eye for detail, genuinely warm and welcoming, and they were able to answer the queries I had. I am returning in January and really looking forward to the hospitality - thank you!

What a lovely apartment. A really comfortable bed. We had a nice view of the harbour, and there was chairs and a table on the balcony to have breakfast on. It had a mini kitchen, hot plates, kettle, mircowave, sink, plenty of cups glasses and cutlery. A lounge and coffee table. Ironing board and iron and a washing machine and dryer. A small bathroom. Under the Hotel is a pool and out the front is a family friendly pub, which we ate at. We stayed only 1 night but would have happily stayed longer. Very close to the magnetic island ferry ( 1 km)

Room was great, fresh modern with fridge and kitchenette, great view over marina. Staff very friendly and helpful. Thanks for our stay and your hospitality

My room had an amazing view, as well as a kitchenette and laundry facilities which were both very handy during my stay. There were also heaps of great food options on Palmer Street. The staff were incredibly accommodating when I needed to extend my stay a few days due to a family emergency. Overall it was a great experience and I’d definitely stay there again.

Well past it's best Tired Smelly/tacky room Damaged furniture Lack of security Pool had floating plastic bags, filter not running and right next to reception - not inviting at all Dirty microwave with wobbly rotating glass bottom (missing the rubber ring underneath) Underwhelming to say the least. Not worth the price charged. Luckily we have a nice ocean view and clean bed linen Our first stay will also be our last stay

We were pleasantly surprised with this hotel, as we had originally thought we were booking into the other OAKS hotel in town. The room was very well equipped, clean and tidy and quiet. Just a short walk to many restaurants and upstairs from the Metropole Hotel, which had very nice food.

I’m going to be fair with this review—4 stars seems like a reasonable rating. The bed has clearly done its best over the years, but it didn’t offer the best sleep. The room is quiet, and the view is decent, but I can’t say I’m excited about this property. On the positive side, the staff are friendly and helpful, which is always appreciated. However, I’m not particularly keen to rebook this one. The shower is okay, though it too has seen better days. The room is equipped with good air conditioning, a microwave, and a fridge, making it suitable for an extended stay if needed. I’m a tech guy couldn’t get into the wifi, bit of mould behind the AC. Overall, it's a serviceable option, but it might not be my first choice next time.

The rooms can actually vary a little, but they all have cooking and laundry facilities inside plus small balcony. I stayed in 2 rooms (start and then end of week) and the second room was bigger than the first. Good location, walking distance to lots of options, but at the end of the street so it's a bit more private at the same time. I will definitely stay here again.
