Oaks Townsville Hotel

I was really impressed with the room. It was modern, attractive, comfortable and well-equipped – there was even a washing machine and a little dishwasher! I also appreciated the large fridge-freezer. The bed was huge and very comfy. The view from the balcony was great, over the river and towards the sea in the distance. I thought the price was exellent value – I've been travelling in Australia the last few months and have paid more for a dated, dingy motel room with just a kettle, bar fridge and microwave before for preparing food and drinks. We didn't have trouble parking our Hilux – there was plenty of space on the second floor of the carpark. The location was great for taking a ferry to Magnetic Island the next morning. Recommend!

Found the staff very friendly & accommodating. Check in & check outs were quick, efficient & met with a very friendly face. Rooms were spacious, clean, tidy with a beautiful view of the marina. Meals at the hotel were great as well. The location is walking distance to other eateries if you wish for a change of cuisine. Rooms were located such that they were quiet & walls not paper thin with plenty parking on site. We had a function there and found the Event Coordinator Abigail & staff very obliging, accommodating & helpful with piecing our event together. Would definitely recommend.

Great quiet hotel. Well appointed with laundry, large fridge, dishwasher,etc. Some of the rooms have great views of Magnetic Island. The metropole compliments this hotel with great food and service.

My recent stay at Oaks Townsville Hotel was very disappointing due to serious hygiene concerns. Upon arrival, I found a cockroach inside the refrigerator and later noticed that the bed sheets were visibly dirty. I reported these issues immediately to the front desk (staff member: Le Laruna), who confirmed a room change was possible but refused to offer any refund or compensation. I also requested the manager’s contact information (Chirag) but was told it could not be shared.||||I understand that operational issues can occur, but the lack of cleanliness and unwillingness to take accountability left a very poor impression. These are not minor inconveniences—they raise serious concerns about hygiene and guest care standards.||||I hope management takes this feedback seriously and addresses both the housekeeping and customer service issues to prevent similar experiences for future guests.

Quick trip for personal reasons. The hotel is down the end of Palmer street and the carparking is super tight and not good if you have a 4wd. The room was nice enough but with mould in the shower and an airconditioner that was totally full of dust it wasn't working very well.

Perfect location for events in Townsville. Close to Queensland Country Bank Stadium. It’s at the end of the food and entertainment hub of Palmer St making it the ideal place to stay a few nights. Our room had a large fridge, double hot plate, microwave, jug, toaster, so simple cooking would be possible. The room was also equipped with a washer and dryer. Some features were a bit worn/tired. The pleather chair was peeling and the paint under the air conditioner was coming off - likely due to having leaked over time. The room was clean, the bed comfortable and the shower was great. Our room had a balcony the looked over Townsville to Castle Hill. There’s also a gym and pool for guests.

We booked through a 3rd party company, the company was nice to deal with. But the staff at the front desk well. We accidentally left our key on the table we approached the front desk and they advised us they had a spare key but needed the 3rd party to contact them. They made some sort of excuse as they didn't like the look off us. As the boys were wearing no shoes and we are a bit rough around the edges ( we are from the country ) they were so rude to us, we'd just been to Coles and had all cold food for dinner and we had to wait for over an hour for a handy man ( friend of the 3rd party) to bring the spare key over to us! So rude

Wasn’t sure about the area at first but ended up being a great spot for drinks, breakfast and dinner. ||A bit tricky to find the entrance to park the car but once booked in, found it to be a great spot to be located. Close to everything. Would definitely stay again if heading to Townsville.
