Great wine tasting experience for only AUS 10$, great value for what you get. Especially with the enthousiastic guidance of Mike, absolute legend! He explained all wines in detail and helped us taste the wines in different temperatures, which was really interesting. All the wines were real quality with some unique finds. If you are lucky you can spot some Kangaroo's and turtles in the vineyards!

We had the absolute pleasure of visiting Oakvale Winery and were lucky enough to have Mike guide us through our tasting. He was a wealth of knowledge—passionate, informative, and made the whole experience feel personal and engaging. It was hands-down the best start to our day. The wine was exceptional, and the cheese platter was beautifully paired—fresh, delicious, and just what we needed to complement the tasting. We left with smiles on our faces and bottles in hand—and we’ll definitely be purchasing again (and again!). Highly recommend a visit to Oakvale if you're in the area.

The four of us visited Oakvale Wines this afternoon and were blown away by Mike, an outstanding sommelier who guided us through the entire tasting experience with knowledge, humour, and warmth. We’d done a half-day wine tour with a different company yesterday that was a little underwhelming, so we decided to stop by Oakvale on our way home — and we’re so glad we did! Mike’s expertise and witty jokes made the whole experience unforgettable. We tried so many delicious wines, learned a lot, and even took home a great selection. Another huge plus — the $10 tasting fee is donated to Meals on Wheels. What’s not to love? 10/10 — get yourself to Oakvale Wines, we live you Mike!

We stayed 2 hours and had a wonderful time, thank you! $10 tasting is beyond worth it: 6-7 different wines, expert explanations and friendly chats. Top it up with a delicious platter from the great Cafe next door (excellent coffee and cakes by the way!). Highly recommend

Oakvale Wines is an absolute gem in the Hunter Valley! The staff - especially Aiden - were incredibly welcoming and knowledgeable, creating a relaxed and enjoyable tasting experience. The wines are exceptional—especially the Verdelho and Demi-Sec range. The picturesque setting adds to the charm, making it a perfect stop for wine lovers. Highly recommend adding Oakvale to your Hunter itinerary! Also worth adding that Elliotts cafe is located next door (fabulous food and coffee) so Oakvale Wines is a great cellar door stop before or after a great meal!

Loved the wines here. Also loved the price of the tasting at the cellar door. From semillion to Shiraz, we particularly liked the Oakvale wines. It was nice to sit outside and be served. Twas a bit commercial with groups coming in. They turned down the loud music which made for a more pleasant serene tasting.

Great wines, very friendly and knowledgeable staff and beautiful property. What more do you need to know?? There is an small tasting fee but they donate it to the local meals-on-wheels program which makes it seem worthwhile.
