Wow! If words could only describe the joy I felt visiting this incredible establishment! When arriving here a patron actually held the door for me shout out to you fine citizen. All the staff here are wonderful with great attitudes.Ok back to the food it was truly excellent.I haven't had a Kringle in many years and this one was amazing. It was so awesome that I devoured the whole thing in one sitting. I only got one donut because I'm trying to watch my weight I also swallowed that too. 😂Most definitely a top tier business.

Amy Randell

Google
Starbucks and O&H Bakery mashup is the best invention ever. Grab your coffee on one side, and your delicious pastry on the other side. We tried the cherry cheesecake Kringle this visit, and it did not disappoint. Although, the almond Kringle will always be the OG.

Regina Shaw-Ellis

Google
Their Kringle is the best in Racine! We get the pecan every time because we love it so much. We got the blueberry for the first time and it is amazing! The almond and cream cheesecake are other favorites.

I ordered a luau-themed birthday cake for my daughter's second birthday, and I couldn't be more thrilled with the result. The cake was not only stunning but also deliciously and flavorful. The attention to detail in the luau decorations was impressive, and it truly made the celebration special. The staff was friendly and accommodating throughout the process, making the whole experience smooth and enjoyable. Highly recommend this bakery for any special occasion!

We are from Louisiana and drive a big rig. We stopped here ( inside the Racine Petro) about a month ago & another customer raved on how good these were. He was traveling with his all the way to Colorado. He sold us and we purchased a cream cheese filled. We came through Wisconsin this month & stopped to get a different flavor. Cherry 🍒 cream cheese. Both soo good! Actually like these better than the filled king cakes we get at home. Plenty of filling inside and just a drizzle of glaze which we prefer. Definitely recommend!

Google
Wow, what can I say?? One word: FANTASTIC. My son and I bought several diffeent types of donuts and pastries, plus a pie and a coffee cake. They specialize in a local Danish delicacy called Kringle. In fact, Racine, WI, is called the Kringle Capitol!! I bought 5 varities and they were absolutely wonderful. There is a drive-thru and a Starbucks as well. Please do yourself a favor and give them a try.

Michelle Foy

Google
Great place and easy location to get in and out of. All the fresh baked goods your hearts desire is in this bakery! So many varieties of Kringle I never even knew existed! We got the almond macaron Kringle and it didn’t disappoint! They really filled it generously with almond filling that was like marzipan! The donuts were just as good and they don’t skimp on fillings! The cream filled long john had cream coming out when you bit down. The glazed raised was so high that you could barely get your mouth open wide enough to take a bite. Everything very fresh and they kept putting more things out! The best thing was you could taste they only used the best ingredients in their baked goods. We will stop here every time we go up to Wisconsin for sure! Worth the drive off the freeway.

Google
Bakery was absolutely delicious as always. Shopped at 12:30pm on Sunday March 4. Staff behind counter and cashier were super friendly. Great atmosphere in store!

Crystal G.

Yelp
We've heard so much of these famous danishes. It was awesome when they walked in the door with a box. All the way from Wisconsin ! I was very excited. All the stories are true. The Danish is spectacular . Nothing better than Christmas morning to have a perfect danish . Five stars.

Richard M.

Yelp
The Kringle is as good as it gets!!! I love the apple and the almond the most but virtually every one is excellent. First time, tried the cream puffs (frozen, but thaw nicely); virtually indistinguishable from the State Fair!! Also tried a couple danish which were quite good but not at same level as the Kringle or the CPs.

Shannon J.

Yelp
We made a day trip from IL to buy their Kringle! Need I say more! Their Kringle is the best! However was surprising to pay more at the bakery than picking up one from our local Trader Joe's?? We also bought other pastries including a lemon filled donut that was amazing as well as cherry croissant topped with chocolate drizzle! Insert chef kiss here!

Chas F.

Yelp
We were all excited to order Dark chocolate Croissant Pie after my sister in Florida kept telling us how it was so delicious. Well, I finally ordered one the other day and picked up at the Sturtevant location on 20/94. Disappointing! We tried warm and room temp, and I don't know, it was not something I got excited about. It was mushy, and my wife described it as just eating a chocolate chip (unsure how - unless she meant the taste). The two teens did not like it; in fact, the one that loves anything chocolate, only ate 1/2 of his slice. I bought a kringle to and gave to my sister visiting - now I wished that I kept the kringle. I love the Kringles -but another thing I will never buy at O&H - cupcakes. Got two at the Sturtevant location - old tasting! My visiting sisters took back the Rhubarb Kringle, and both told me it was delicious. Now I have to go by one myself!

Laurie H.

Yelp
Oh what a fun place to go get the best pastries cookies and more. Along with all of jellies and jams and the Kringles are scrumptious Service was great

Steven T.

Yelp
We had a customer bring us a turtle Kringle to share with everyone in our department when she stopped by which was very nice and unexpected because we don't usually get sweets from customers. I had no interest in the Kringle and I was not eve going to have a piece because it's usually a boring traditional flavor but when I looked close at the flavor hours later I had a sliver. The Kringle flavor was turtle which I have never had or seen before so I'm definitely trying it. It was very good with a light flakey pastry topped with chocolate and nuts filled on the bottom with Carmel and chocolate. Overall it was pretty good and I'm glad that I took a closer look at the flavor.

Ann H.

Yelp
Beautiful facility and the best Kringle! I suggest you also stop for a breakfast sandwich! I had the Ragnar: egg patty plus hard boiled egg with sausage patty (or bacon) with Gruyère in a toasted English muffin! Yum! I followed that with a raised twist- great donut light and fluffy

Eric D.

Yelp
The best! It is a piece of nostalgia for me as Kringle was a staple at my grandmother's house in Racine.

Howard L.

Yelp
We swung by to see this particular O&H Danish Bakery as it is vintage 1972, their second flagship location after the 1949 original flagship was moved here, and the oldest of the five existing O&H Danish Bakeries.  The main reason was just to visit it as we were told at the Washington Ave. store, about 4 miles away, that this older and dated bakery would be replaced in about 2 months.  We found it quieter and less popular than the sparkling Washington Ave. location anyway, but with the same quality products of course.  Having just bought two Kringles at the other store, we just bought a braided Danish donut called a cruller ($1.15)  and some butter crust bread to celebrate their history and say goodbye and good luck!

Judy B.

Yelp
Famous for its Kringle, O & H Bakery also does a mean strudel. I don't know how the Danes perfected this Austrian specialty, but the crust on the cherry strudel my husband and I shared was perfect: thin, flaky, and light. I asked the employee who helped me whether there were ever apple strudel available for purchase and she said, "Once in a while. Cherry is more popular." YIKES!! Cherry over apple? Not on my watch. Even so, I'm willing to swing by occasionally to see if they have the apple for sale. I'd also pick up another French baguette. The crust was the perfect combination of crunch and stretch. (Not sure if that's a baking term, but I look for a little "stretch" when I tear off a chunk.) Four out of five stars for O and H this time because everyone knows APPLE is the number one strudel flavor, at least in this German household!

Andy L.

Yelp
Fantastic bakery. Can sit with coffee or order a Kringle - pretty much every pastry that you desire.

Edward O.

Yelp
Kringle, doughnuts, breads, cookies. Wonderful customer service. Ordering cakes of various kinds is very easy and they help with options. We have bought their Danish Layer Cakes for my mother-in-law's birthday. I have seen organizations order cupcakes for special occasions like Veterans Day, Memorial Day, or Employee Appreciation Christmas dinner.

Tessa B.

Yelp
Greatest Kringle in Wisconsin and wonderful service. I really enjoyed coming here on sundays as a kid.

Gretchen L.

Yelp
Waking up to the Wisconsin Kringle on Christmas morning was great!! So fresh and delicious! I'll be ordering again! I'm hooked! Thank you from Houston Texas!! From an old Norwegian!

Mohammed K.

Yelp
Great bakery stuff every morning something sweet treat your self love this place... plenty of options

Stephanie B.

Yelp
Always consistent, wide variety always and a hometown fixture. Nothing in town could touch O&H!!!!!!

Porsche C.

Yelp
Who will do it like YOU, NOBODY!! Yup, you got that right! Nobody makes kringles like O&H, and I mean NOBODY!! When you hear Wisconsin what do you think about? If you ask me I would say, KRINGLES*! Honestly, I didn't even know what Kringles was until I came to Wisconsin. Kringles are a THING, especially in Racine. Now, every time I hear the word my eyes get big instantly! One taste of those Kringles and they will have you HOOKED! I absolutely LOVE O&H! They have the most outstanding Kringle, especially if you get them fresh early in the morning. They offer various different flavors and even seasonal flavors. Make sure you come early in the morning when they have most of their flavors available. They seem to sell out pretty quickly, they do have a large selection in the bakery case as well. Plus, the staff are very friendly and attentive. My all-time favorites are the: -Almond Kringle -Raspberry Kringle -Apple Kringle My girlfriend and her husband love the Turtle and the Wisconsin Kringle, which seems to be one of the seasonal flavors. I also loved their deli at this location. Make sure to order their Viking Power Sandwich, it's to die for! Honestly, if you ask the residence in Racine, they will all have their own opinion on who makes the best Kringle in town! I hear that the kringles freeze really well if you are open to taking some back home, they also have special bags that you can purchase to take the kringles back with you. If you're interested, they also offer to ship; be careful as that can become really pricey as well. I know after eating at O&H that the best FRESH Kringles are made in-house RIGHT HERE! This is a MUST try then you are visiting Racine! I promise you will not experience this type of delightfulness elsewhere. *Kringles- It's a "Danish" pastry in the shape of an oval ring with filling and icing. The fillings vary from pecan (the most popular), almond, cherry, turtle, apply, raspberry, and even specialty holiday flavors.

Newby's B.

Yelp
Their Kringle is thee best Kringle ever! My mom and I have made a pact that we will try every one of their Kringles and so far we're 20 Kringles in and boy are we having fun. If you want moist, packed with flavor, packaged well, clean, and extremely nice this is your place.

PatrickJ T.

Yelp
Going to make this 5 star review short, sweet, and direct to the point. O&H Danish Bakery in Racine, Wisconsin makes the best Kringles in the U.S.A.!! Pumpkin Caramel is my favorite!! Too bad it is seasonal because I could eat this bad boy 365 days a year!! Cannot make it to Racine to satisfy your Kringle cravings? Ordering online will solve that issue. They are delivered fresh and delicious! Their Kringles are worth every calorie gained and every penny spent! Try them and decide for yourself!

Kat S.

Yelp
A danish/donut/pastry place that is not friendly to children... coming from out of town spending time and visiting family being that this is the first time I went here with the info that Wisconsin is known for Kringles aside from their infamous Cheese I was not impressed in the least. What an unfortunate experience to have staff immiediately be unwelcoming and correcting because children are excited to see all the goodies behind the glass. And they continued to side eye and whisper about us with uncomfortable glares

Josh D.

Yelp
Five stars across the board. How have I never had Kringle in my life before now? This is the best introduction to this pastry and the Midwest. Ask- prices are incredible for the quality.

Randall S.

Yelp
In my opinion, they make the beds Kringle available. They ship their Kringles so you know that they must be in big demand if people will pay to have them delivered

Jacob S.

Yelp
Great Kringle! What more needs to be said. I never had a bad doughnut from here either.

Loretta C.

Yelp
Omg to die for baked delicacies where even grandma will shop rather than bake for herself! Famous for the Kringle they keep trying to imitate in other places

Mari K.

Yelp
Highlights: *Each Kringle is about $12 each *Different flavors and fillings *Kringle isn't all they sell *Coffee! *Free Samples! Kringle originates from the Old Norse word "Kringla" which means circle. I'm not a born-and-raised local, merely a lover of sweet, fluffy treats that are donut-like in consistency. I also strive to read about and eat local culture/cuisine. Well, like Arancini is to Italy, Kringle is to Racine. It's something you've *got* to do while you're in town. Don't let the local construction or surrounding area discourage you. There seems to be a local debate over whether Lehmann's or Bendtsen's is better... I couldn't tell you, as that is a decision your taste buds will have to make. However, supermarket Kringle tastes like a Big Texas Cinnamon Roll. Don't do it!

Caitlyn C.

Yelp
Friendly staff, amazing donuts and felt welcome as soon as I walked in the door. You can tell the care about the food you're purchasing as well as the environment you're purchasing it from. Absolutely recommend the cyclops and any of the artisan breads!

Bill M.

Yelp
Not sure how my location is California as I've lived in Racine for over 50 years. Their new store in the north side sure looks nice but it is a traffic nightmare as it shares a building with a Starbucks. There are times when traffic is backed up onto the street, a 4 lane major road. As for the product it is getting more and more corporate and generic every year. Trying to supply, what is it now 5 retail outlets, has affected quality. Even though it is a bit of a schlep from my house I'll do my Kringle buying at Bendstens

Aidan A.

Yelp
I'm from Georgia, and boy-o-boy do I wish we had a bakery like this back home. The customer service was delightful, our breakfast sandwiches were tasty, and Kringle is absolutely AMAZING!

Ima K.

Yelp
Just an over all good place!!! Always get GREAT pastry, breads, cakes. Now you can get sandwiches also!! Can't wait to try those out!!

Justin K.

Yelp
For all the bakery's in the area they are OK at best. More of a mass production feel and quality then what you can get elsewhere. Other then a few Kringle flavors nothing here stands out that would make me go there. You want good bakery I'd go to Kenosha...

Richard B.

Yelp
Been going there for 50 years .So many great bakery items. Kringle donuts eclares and don't forget they have shipping and great sandwiches

Rachel W.

Yelp
Holy, Kringle! You must, must, must stop at this delicious piece of Heaven if you're anywhere near Racine. I found the staff here to be MOST wonderful; I called ahead to ask them if I could bring a bus group of 25 people and the manager was more than happy to accommodate us. Store is spacious, bright and clean. They're very generous with the samples and I don't think anyone in my group left empty-handed. Not only do they sell Kringles, but they also sell other pastry items, cookies, brownies, cakes and much more. Try the Kringle of the Month Club or send one via mail order to a friend. Cinnamon Roll, Pumpkin Pecan, Cranberry and 'Thanksgiving' Kringle flavors are a my current favorites.

Anthony D.

Yelp
Great bakery . Everything is delicious. Always count on a great Kringle to enjoy in the morning.

Tony F.

Yelp
I don't usually have much use for bakeries, since I'm not a big donut guy, I don't drink coffee, I don't love Kringle (simmer down, now!) and my wife works in a bakery, so I'm covered on a day to day basis. That said: best Kringle in town, incredible pastries & donuts (recently tried paczkis for the first time!), custom ordered cakes turn out wonderful and even the coffee is good, and I DON'T DRINK COFFEE. If you need baked goods, go here. Period.

Mark W.

Yelp
I used to love the O&H pecan custard coffee cake, but again, they are dropping in quality. A few years back, I posted a similar review. O& H responded by inviting me to become a "quality tester", and provided me with coffee cake to sample. At that time, the quality went back up, and the coffee cake was delicious! Unfortunately, over time, they slipped back down. I recently purchased a custard ocean coffee cake, and it was lacking in custard, was very dry. I had even special ordered it, so there's no excuses to be made.

Carrie T.

Yelp
I am updating this review because their customer service did contact me. It appears it was not their fault but FedEx had the issue. Still disappointed but O & H Danish Bakery did take care of their customer. Thank you Worst place to purchase a gift from and will never purchase again. I ordered 2 kringle to be delivered on 4/16 for a birthday party on 4/18. Order did not arrive as promised. I also contacted their customer service and have not received a call back. Will not be ordering ever again as the kringle are not that good to put up with the hassle. So embarrassing!

Hannah H.

Yelp
NYAM NYAM NYAM - boy, do I love O&H Bakery!!! This family-owned Danish bakery has been around since '49, currently run by the 4th generation Olesen members. They are known for their OG Kringles, a hand-rolled pastry that has 32 layers of flaky dough, filled with different fillings, then iced :D O&H has a variety of flavors available: Almond, Almond Macaroon, Apple, Apricot, Apricot Cheese, Birthday (filled with custard and raspberry jam, and then iced with birthday sprinkles!), Blueberry, Cherry, Cherry Cheese, Chocolate Pecan, Cinnamon Roll, Cream Cheese, Easter (filled with cream cheese and has spring-colored sprinkles on top), Irish Cream, Maple Walnut, Pecan, Raspberry, Turtle, Wisconsin (filled with cream cheese, Door County cherries, and cranberries), Apple & Almond, and Pecan & Raspberry. I am a huge fan of their Pecan, but I also do not discriminate against their other delicious flavors :D The flaky pastry dough is so light, with a lovely glaze (that is not too overly sweet); it is filled with just the right amount of filling - a mix of pecans, brown sugar, and cinnamon - all a good ratio with the dough - YUM! Don't forget to heat it up in the oven for a few minutes, as that makes a world of a difference (or, if you're lucky, pick a fresh one up in person at one of their Racine locations!). Those who live out-of-state, check out their Kringle of the Month Club, where you can sign up for 3-, 6-, 9-, or 12-months to receive monthly shipments of the Kringle (which also comes with an explanation of the gift itself). Besides Kringles, O&H also offers coffee cakes, layer cakes, crown cakes, bread puddings, breads, pastries, and even gluten-/salt-/sugar-free options :D Definitely a lovely treat, so check them out! +Kringles!!! +family-owned Danish bakery :D +based out of Racine, WI +Kringle of the Month Club :D

Stephanie H.

Yelp
Loving the Kringle in Wisconsin. Mmmmmmm. My favorite is the Wisconsin Kringle that consists of cranberry, raspberry and cream cheese. Yum, yum, yum. We usually have kringle at family parties or when there are guests in town, but I'm starting to crave it more. If you are out of town you can order it on their website and have it delivered. Don't miss out on this Racine, WI treat! Great job O&H!

Richie D.

Yelp
If you've never heard of or tasted a Kringle before, DON'T MISS OUT & try O&H! I believe that O&H has the original Kringle (well if not, it has been voted the best). So what is a Kringle? you say: It's a butter layered Danish pastry from the late 1800's, shaped into an oval which is full of light, tender, flaky and flavorful jams and cremes. To name a few flavors: Almond, cherry cheese, almond macaroon, chocolate, apple, pecan, apricot, pineapple pecan, blueberry, raspberry (my favorite of them all) and cream cheese--Some flavors are only available during specific seasons or months. If you don't live anywhere near Racine, Wisconsin, then you can order one online. They are a good price, come with many portions for a party/get-together, & of course DELICIOUS!

Jennifer R.

Yelp
I have always been a fan of Kringle, regardless of where it's made in Racine. But when they announced the brandy old fashioned kringles, I just had to stop in and sample. I visited the bakery on Douglas Ave., which I believe is the original, old-school, real deal. There was a great selection of piping fresh kringles pastry here. I mean the smell was fabulous. Sure enough, samples of the Brandy Old Fashioned flavor was available. One bite and I was hooked. Imagine rich sweet cherries, brandy and orange flavors mingling with buttery, flaky pastry and sweet icing. So delicious! This seasonal flavor needs to make a comeback. In a big way. Betcha 10 dollars it makes its way to the Wisconsin State Fair. Can I get mine deep fried? Please?!?!

Heidi C.

Yelp
I am in love with this bakery. Their treats are so delicious!! We went there for cake tasting for our wedding cake and the staff was amazing. They made sure they were attentive without being overly attentive. We ended up hiring them to make our wedding cakes (my cake and the groom's cake) and they were both absolutely delicious! I didn't have a set picture of what I wanted but rather a general idea and they made my idea come to life! It exceeded my expectations!! They ended up delivering the cake to the reception hall and got it there without anything being ruined on it.

Kelli W.

Yelp
I received my first kringle from TJ's in CA and while visiting we realized it was a "short" 4 hour drive. Let me tell you, totally worth it. The employees were warm and friendly and helped me pack a box to send home to myself.

Bora_Bora_1 R.

Yelp
I order ALL my Christmas presents for friends and clients from here. Excellent and easy shipping. Easy UI for ordering items and shipping is fast via FedEx. Quality always A+. Love that it is family owned and embracing the Scandinavian heritage and culture.

Chris M.

Yelp
Visiting Wisconsin. This day we did a loop from our RV park outside Milwaukee to Lake Geneva, Kenosha and Racine. Being from Las Vegas, the kringle is new to us. One of the great things about traveling and seeing other parts of the country is trying the regional food. So a stop at this well known bakery was a must. Road construction made it difficult to get to. Very friendly staff and a great selection of kringles, as well as other baked goods. I had no idea how big they were. I tried the blueberry. Cut it in quarters and had for the next four breakfasts. Delicious!

Kimmy R.

Yelp
This review is for online ordering only. It's pricey but you get a delicious quality pastry delivers to your door on time. Portions are very generous. We've tried the Seven Sisters for Christmas morn and the heart shaped Kringle for Valentine's Day. Definitely recommend if you are having company...impressive taste and sized to share. Wonderful with a nice strong cup of coffee.

Anna M.

Yelp
I've always felt lucky to be a Racine native because of this bakery, it's absolutely awesome! Another gem from Racine for sure!

Veronica L.

Yelp
My O & H Danish Kringle review: Packaged beautifully in a heavy wax covered long white bag for freshness. Buttery and delicious. ONLY THING I WOULD CHANGE: Too much salt. Why put salt in the almond paste? Totally unnecessary and ruins the true flavors of almond and butter. I had to scoop out some of the past as I ate mine to avoid eating too much salt. Half your salt, bakers, and you get 5 STARS! Other than that, the Kringle are delicious; very old-world.

P M.

Yelp
The cringle is God. I bought 4 when I was in Racine. Sad they are so expensive to ship. Guess I will wait until my next road trip to stock up

Novella D.

Yelp
If you are looking for fresh and delicious pastries come here!!!! The people are soooooo nice and there donuts are the best I would definitely recommend this!!!
