Oarsman's Bay Lodge

A huge thank you to Dean and the whole amazing and lovely team at Oarsman’s Bay. Our second visit was just as relaxing as the first and we will surely be back again next year. This is the ideal location for couples wanting to totally chill-out in paradise. The protected water is incredibly clear with a nice sandy bottom and there is great snorkelling right off the beach. The best part of Oarsman’s is the simplicity. No TV. No internet in rooms (just dining area). A simple but nourishing meal plan with fish as an option every night. The staff and location effectively forces you to slow down and take it easy. My only request…. Please don’t change. PS: if 5 star US style resorts are more your thing there are some great ones on the mainland like Intercon at Coral Coast. This place is more for those who want a more boutique and remote experience with the most amazing and graceful Fijian people (who we can all learn a lot from).

I really enjoyed my stay. This was my first stop on my first visit to Fiji and it was a great choice! The resort offers comfortable luxury. There is no pretense here. They really want you to practice “No Hurry, No Worry!” ||What I loved:|- my room was an ocean front in the north beach section. These are new and very nice. It’s a bit windy there and a longer walk to the lodge. Hammock is right on the beach and that’s nice. Also the bed faces the ocean and what a wonderful way to wake up each morning.|- the staff are amazing!|- the mix in accommodation, including the dormitory, means there is a mix of people. Honeymooners, solo backpackers, married couples and digital nomads make for great conversations.|- being at the end of the island chain was awesome and the location on the Blue Lagoon was stunning!|- the spa was wonderful ||The food was sold. I wouldn’t say gourmet, but I enjoyed it. ||The WiFi isn’t always strong and only available on the main lodge. This wasn’t ideal, but not a deal breaker. Just be prepared if you need to work.||There are plenty of activities and swimming in front of the lodge is wonderful!||I loved the laid back pace and vibe. I would go back!

We stayed at Oarsman's Baylodge Resort in the beautiful Nacula Island — a four-hour ferry ride that was absolutely worth every minute. As soon as we stepped off the boat, we were greeted with a joyful welcome song that instantly made us feel at home. Every day was filled with breathtaking views, amazing memories, and the friendliest people you could ever meet. They have a few different types of bures, and each one is super cute! The food was good — I’d just love to see a few more varieties of fresh fruit. The internet was a bit spotty and mostly worked around the main house where the restaurant is, but honestly, with such stunning views and so many things to do, who wants to be on their phone anyway? Josh, who runs some of the activities, was incredibly friendly and patient — he taught us how to make a fruit basket, which I actually brought home, and it looks amazing on my table! Everyone working at the resort was so kind and always smiling, which really made the stay feel special. Would absolutely recommend this place if you’re looking to disconnect, unwind, and just soak in the beauty of Fiji. Sota tale! 🌺

How to sum up somewhere so beautiful is hard, the area has to be seen to be believed. The water is incredible, up some steps, past the sleeping dog sits the most amazing place, Oarsman’s Bay Lodge.|| This is my second visit here, it was as good as I remember. The staff are phenomenal, they will allow you the space you need to unwind but there for anything you need. Accomodation is comfy and the bures well supplied with everything, each with its own hammock and sun loungers. ||We did the sunset trip and the caves trip, both were great experiences and so much fun…. Despite the rain for the latter!||Food is amazing, the best fish dish and chicken curry I’ve had, ever! Also afternoon tea and cake is something that I want daily in my life! ||I’m so glad that I came back, it won’t be the last visit. We had an amazing time and will talk about it for weeks, if you want somewhere relaxed, spacious and different from a resort style place, this is it! Vinaka Vekulevu, Sota Tale

This is our fourth trip to Oarsman's Bay. It is our place to completely unwind. |The staff feel more like family than hosts, and it is a joy to see them again. |We stayed in one of the new brand Beachfront Bure on the north beach, and it was fantastic, beautifully appointed. The staff speak with admiration of the Dean, owner and manager, for the example and support he gives to them. This reflected in their attitude, pride and work ethic. It gives this place a sense of family and warmth, making it a place you want to come back to.

With a fantastic stunning location in the Yasawa Islands , Oarsmans Bay Lodge offers a quiet and very relaxing stay with great food, and personal friendly service. The resort is spacious and spread out with nice gardens, and a wonderful sandy beach, with excellent swimming at all tides and good snorkelling on the reefs out front. We also did two boat reef - hopping trips, exploring 6 different reefs nearby with amazing corals and fish life. Josh and Ishmael were great activity leaders, and tailored our second reef-hopping for us - Vinaka! The cave trip is also a great experience and well worth it. While the facilities are a little dated, this is made up for with very clean and well-ordered premises and the warm friendly staff and lovely relaxing vibe. We stayed in a beach front studio which was good value, and gave us stunning views every day and evening including the sunsets. A hard place to leave! Totally recommended.

I went with a group of 14 friends for a big birthday . It really is quite hard to describe what a magical place Oarsman is. Definitely not for the Resort swim up bar pool folk….|No pools here just an amazing turquoise all day swimming and snorkeling beach.|This is a small resort and all bures are almost on the beach or just back. |Simply appointed with very comfortable beds, fan,Ac and Louvre windows. No AC needed in September.|It’s also hard to describe the wonderful staff. Josh is everywhere managing everything and that everyone is having the best time. His lovely wife Maria does world famous massages and the rest of the team without exception are warm and caring. Tears shed to leave them.🥺 They are exceptional❣️|We did the cave trip on my birthday. A must do and made very easy if you think it might be too scary!|My snorkeling buddies raved. |Josh and team went out of their way to create a very special birthday night in the bar Bure at the North beach.|It was just Wonderful and a life time memory! Thank you all soo much ❣️

Oarsman was our first stop in the Yasawas and we stayed for 5 nights. We loved every moment of it. The blue water snd snorkeling, the staff and their beautiful singing, the spacious and clean accommodation and delicious fresh and lovingly prepared food that kept us very well full and fed. We loved receiving Fijian Bombo traditional massage from Maria on two occasions each, highly recommended!! We hope to be back again soon and will definitely recommend to others.
