What a beautiful part of the world, just paradise! The staff were so wonderful and welcoming, the accommodation was just lovely and the food was divine. I am vegetarian, and was catered with beautiful fresh meals. I did the Cave trip and snorkelling trip, just fantastic. You can hike up the mountain behind for beautiful views. Or just chill out on the beach. Lots of activities if you want. I loved my stay so much, VINAKA!

If you’re dreaming of a tropical getaway in Fiji, Oarsman’s Bay Lodge in the Yasawa Islands is perfect. We stayed in an oceanfront bure, which was everything you’d hope for in a tropical escape. Waking up to vibrant blue water was the highlight. The lodge offers a fantastic array of activities, including snorkeling in coral reefs, kayaking, guided hikes, and cultural experiences with the nearby village. The flexibility to relax or explore at your own pace is perfect. The staff truly make the experience—they’re incredibly kind and go above and beyond to make your stay memorable. The food was fresh and delicious, with great local flavors. If you’re visiting the Yasawa Islands, check out Oarsman’s Bay Lodge.

My partner and I stayed at Oarsman Bay Lodge at the end of November and had the most incredible time. It was by far our favourite resort that we stayed in Fiji and possibly our favourite hotel we have ever stayed in! ||The food was absolutely beautiful. My partner has Coeliac disease therefore can’t have gluten, and the chef was so careful to make sure they kept to this dietary requirement. We were so grateful. One night we had a traditional meal and some of the food was cooked in a traditional lovo, that was so delicious and impressive.||The room was beautiful, very clean and it was well thought out. The outdoor shower was hot | and the daily room service was fantastic. It was lovely to have our own hammock and chairs outside the bure. There were plenty of places to dry wet swimming costumes and we had a basket of our clothes washed (very quickly and for a very reasonable price). ||The best part about this resort is the staff. Lusi met us when we first arrived and was kind, funny, efficient and incredibly hard working for the rest of our trip. She is an absolute credit to the resort and you can tell Lusi really takes pride in her work. Lusi came to collect us from our room in the pouring rain with an umbrella so we didn’t miss the traditional dancing. Ben took us out snorkelling, fishing and helped us with various things throughout the stay. Ben was knowledgable about the reef, we felt very safe in his hands and he was great fun during the kava ceremony. Para was amazing - especially great dancing and he made us laugh a lot! Lukey lead the kava ceremony and also taught us lots about life on the yasawa islands, he was so friendly and again great fun. Matthu took us out on the boat, showed us around the local village and took us to his church for Sunday service. Matthu again is a real credit to Oarsman Bay, he answered all our questions and showed us a slice of his life that we were very grateful to see and learn about. Luisa was my therapist for a massage and she was just amazing, I’ve had plenty of massages in my time and Luisa gave one of the best, it was such a treat! All the staff spoke highly of their management and it was lovely to see the owner out on the shop floor, helping to clear plates. There were plenty of other lovely staff members who we didn’t get to know but can tell it’s a lovely team who enjoy their work at the resort.||The activities available to do were great and we took advantage of lots of them - basket weaving, reef hopping, line fishing, traditional dancing and kava ceremony and a church visit. We wish we could’ve stayed longer to go to the caves. ||The beach is beautiful at the resort - white powder sand and clear blue water. The water was warm, easy to swim in and often completely still. There is reef immediately out from the shoreline with great fish and we even saw a turtle! It was really nice to have our own snorkel and mask provided in our room rather than having to borrow one each day, and they were high quality too unlike at other resorts.||Thank you to the team at Oarsman Bay Lodge, we will be back and will be happy to recommend this resort to others.

Perfect piece of paradise! ||I visited for 9 days mid-December. From the moment I arrived, I felt like I was part of the family. The staff all learn your name on the day you arrive, and it’s wonderful to feel that personal touch. |The bures are awesome. Each of them has a view of the ocean, and ample space to relax, laze in a hammock, dry your bathers (!). Some include an outdoor shower, which is just an awesome experience…to shower under the stars at night. They’re serviced every day (usually while you’re at breakfast) and are kept very clean. |Halfway through my trip I got surprised with an upgrade to one of the oceanfront bures, which was just so wonderful and so kind of the staff. |As for food, the compulsory meal plan gives you buffet breakfast, hot lunch, afternoon tea (with homemade cakes not to be missed at 4PM every day), and a three-course dinner every night. Given the remoteness of the location, the quality of the food is superb. I enjoyed every single meal. |With no children allowed, and no motorised equipment, Oarsman’s is the perfect place to totally relax. |There’s also plenty to do, if you want some action. The snorkelling is awesome (you get your own snorkels/goggles in your room on arrival), you can take tours to feed fish, reef hop, visit the famous caves, visit the local village, learn weaving, taste kava (!), or hike up the mountain behind the resort. |The beach is absolutely incredible at the resort - white powder sand and clear blue water. The water was warm, easy to swim in and often completely still. I took a hammock floaty with me from Aus and spent hours just floating around. |I have visited Fiji 8 times and this is by far my new favourite place - I am already planning my trip for 2025!!|Vinaka vaka levu Oarsman's.

We went to this resort with really high expectations and I have to say they were met. We loved Lusi who is just lovely and nothing is to much trouble. The beach is one of the best we have seen in Fiji and we have been to a few resorts. The clear water and white sand meant you could swim anytime. |The food for us was a challenge and only I think because we stayed 7 nights. There is little choice because of how far out they are and I think they could have used pasta a bit more but you couldnt fault the food. They did speak of a pizza type of place being build which would be great as we would stay longer if we could have some more choice in food.|The bure was clean and very comfortable but would have loved a electic jug in there which for the price you pay I would expect it and it was on their website.|I would recommend this resort.

Oarsman's Bay Lodge has one of the best locations - direct access to a beautiful beach where the snorkelling experience was stunning! The dorms were above average comfortable (walls between beds for privacy) and the bungalows looked nice. The resort was nicely furnished, there were many couples, it was very quiet and peaceful. Only the food was somewhat poor and predominantly western, sadly not Fijian. Other than that a lovely stay.

We stayed at Oarsman’s bay Lodge for 6 days and we absolutely loved it. Place is just paradise on earth. Hospitality, facilities, food, activities were just fantastic. We could stat there forever. Cave trip with Bill and Para is very good. You go there early (8:30am) and you go in a small group (minimum must be 4 persons). And you spend quality time with them. Reef hooping was amazing. They took you to 3 locations. Snorkelling gear is free of charge. We also had Kava demo. We really enjoyed and loved the stay at resort. And you get welcome coconuts 😁

We stayed five nights here at the end of November, but left wanting more. It’s easy to slow down to the island pace of life and pass the days on the beach, in the sea, or by the bar. Don’t miss the cave visit (30 minute boat ride away) and if you can face getting up early, try and catch the sunrise from the ridge behind the Oarsman’s (25 minute hike each way - trainers essential). Bear in mind that there is little choice for the meals (no choice at lunchtime unless you specify; two options in the evening). We needed the doctor while we were here and fortunately the regional medical centre (just a small building, and the waiting room was a bench under a tree) was in Nacula village, a few minutes by boat from The Oarsman’s Bay. Our medical issue was resolved in minutes - excellent care!
