First of all, when the taxi stopped, I had a hard time believing we were there: the guest house is in an alley behind the main road, in the middle of nowhere. You can't go anywhere without a ride, there's no restaurant or coffee place nearby. After a long and tiring train trip, I had promised the kids a sumptuous breakfast because I had read that the owners were German and baked cakes. There's a system where you can help yourself and write down on a piece of paper all the things you have eaten or drank. When we opened the fridge, we realized that the apple pie and the plum pie were both covered with mold!!! That was pretty dusgusting. ||We chose to stay in a ger and consequently had to use the communal showers, which were not unclean but were not comfortable (Soviet-era style shower). The temperature in the ger was either unbearably hot when the burner was on (over 45°, never been so hot in my life, I felt like I was burning), then when the burner stopped in the middle of the night, it was freezing, so I would not recommend the ger during the cold months (we were offered to stay in an appartment if we wanted). ||We chose this place because the owners were European and we felt it would be easy to communicate and get advice for the rest of our trip (tickets to China, visa advice etc.). We never saw the owners and the local people they hired only spoke either Mongolian or German. They were very nice but, due to our limited knowledge of German, communication was not easy and we turned elsewhere to get tourist information. I was a bit shocked that the owners never showed up, never even talked to us on the phone to know if we were OK and left us on our own with no English speaking staff.||Food choice is quite limited and you have to order before 6 PM. The food served is not bad. We were alone in the place, so I can not comment on the nice atmosphere.||The price of the room was double what we paid when we moved to the center of UB, where we could go anywhere on foot. I would only recommend this place to German-speaking travellers with their own mean of transportation, otherwise, you'll be better off in the center of UB for half the price.
