Oasis Hostel

I recently stayed at this hostel for New Years and had a mostly positive experience. The hotel staff were really good people—friendly, welcoming, and always willing to help. They offered a welcome drink upon arrival, and on New Year's Eve, they treated guests to a free meal, which was a nice touch. They also kept the place tidy and clean, which made for a pleasant atmosphere. Laundry services are available for an extra cost, which is convenient. Breakfast was included in the price, and while it was decent, nothing too fancy, it was a good way to start the day. One downside is that the hostel is located on a highway, so it can be quite noisy, especially for light sleepers or noise-sensitive people like myself. I struggled to get proper sleep, though you might get used to it after staying there for a few days. On the positive side, the hostel has a great rooftop with a nice mountain view, which is perfect for relaxing or enjoying the scenery. One issue I encountered, though, was with the common bathrooms. They tend to get choked if you throw toilet paper in them, so it’s important to be cautious there. I had originally booked a 6-bed dorm, but when I arrived, they placed me in an 8-bed dorm instead. This wasn’t a huge issue, but it would have been nice to get the room I reserved.

Also keys for the main gate & each room (Good security) • rooftop and balcony • bus stops nearby 🥲 Unfortunately, I had poor sleep throughout my stay for two reasons: • The wall in the room wasn't fully closed. The top part is open, and loud traffic sound comes in every day and night. They provided ear plugs when I asked which helped a bit. • the pillow was old and hard. I think this can improve! Overall, it was an amazing stay. I would recommend this hostel to people who visit Puerto Vallarta ☺️👍

Hey this hostel was great. The service at the reception was efficient and clear. Breakfast was awesome and I had a beautiful sleep. I love that you get a free drink on the house when you arrive. What a wonderful rooftop to relax and look to the horizon!

I went in December 2016. I stayed for 10 days. It was the best vacation I ever had. The owners are amazing, the staff is amazing, and it’s right next to the bus stop. I stayed over Christmas and we had an amazing potluck dinner put together by the host. When I go back, I will definitely stay here.

I stayed for about 30 days or so during December and January. This was the high season for Vallarta this year. I didn't like Vallarta as a whole, but I loved staying at this hostel. People are friendly, especially staff, and the spaciousness of the hostel makes it possible to work on your laptop or hangout with people, depending on what you want to do at the time.

My friend and I stayed here on our bike tour . We like being off the touristic Malecón and near river trails and forest. Great staff, very clean. and good breakfast included!

One if not the best hostel I've stayed at. The lady in charge of the place is great, very friendly and helped us get accommodated to the place very fast. Breakfast is excellent do not miss it. The place is very clean as they have cleaning service coming in almost daily. The rooftop is a great place to relax, have a beer and enjoy the view. The workers and the travellers are very nice people. The location of the hostel is around 10-15 minutes away from the central Zona Romantica zone by walk or 2-3 minutes by Uber. The beaches are around 25-30 minutes away by walk. Would definitely stay there again if I go back to Puerto Vallarta.

Staff here are great and very willing to help you plan your trip. Free breakfast is provided, although the kettle didn’t work so I was unable to make a hot drink. Rooms are clean and very very basic. The beds are not comfy, but you can make do, and there are very few power outlets. The bed frames are old and metal and make a lot of noise when getting in and out of them. The hostel is located about a 15 minute walk from the hub of shops and restaurants, meaning it’s a little quieter at night which is great. Overall I had a nice time.

Oasis is one of those places that are truly special. The owner loves his guests and treats them as family.

Stayed here one night with a friend and really liked the vibe. You get a coronita (mini corona) when you check in, and breakfast (we had pancakes) in the morning. We slept in the women's dorms and it was a little loud from the traffic but it drowned out any other noises in the hostel. Lockers, ceiling fans, and wifi were included. Check in on yelp for a free towel rental. There's also a fun communal area and rooftop terrace for hanging out with hostel mates and watching the sun set.
