Oaxaca Artisan Market

Lovely market in the center of Oaxaca. You’ll find tons of artisanal goodies, food, spices. Close to the Mercado where you can eat and get fresh juices also.

Had a great experience and bought some beautiful crafts for ourselves and friends. The vendors are patient and were not pushy or high pressure like similar markets in touristy spots around the world. We found items here that we couldn’t find anywhere else around Oaxaca.

Lots of handmade stuff to buy here! I was anxious when stepping foot in the building, but left it with new shirts, a wallet and decorations for back home. Fun to spend half an hour or so in this market.

Great place with lots of artisan items, but careful when buying from some people. They will remove size tags to make it seem like they have the size you need. Bummer to find this out once you get home!

Great for textiles and those brightly coloured wooden animals. Stall holders are very friendly and not too pushy. The shade is much appreciated and the opening hours are long and useful. Definitely our favourite market of the three in the vicinity, and probably the most tourist-appealling in general: trinkets rather than raw food ;)

Great spot for Oaxacan textiles. Spanish skills necessary here. No AC so very hot inside in May. However worth going because of huge selection in all things Oaxaca. Black pottery, alebrijes (painted wooden animal art) & textiles such as table runners, table cloths, pillow covers, clothing, rugs in every imaginable color, pattern & design. Dazzling but not for faint hearted as can be overwhelming.
