Service was below average (read below).
Food was good, big portions, tasty.
They had tables in the sand, my partner enjoyed barefoot in the sand while eating. Near the beach, only a few rows of sun beds were between us and the sea.
The service was under average.
We have entered the restaurant's area. When we went through the tables, 3 or 4 waiters were standing next to us, none of them bothered to escort us to a table. We picked a table, waited nearly 10 minutes to get a waiter to get a menu and to pick up our drinks.
He wasn't very communicative, he had difficulties speaking English, it was very basic, but that wasn't a problem.
In the end when we wanted to pay (by card), he got us the terminal. We got a paper written the total by hand, no receipt, nothing. (But the math added up. So he asked if we want to give extra for service because they don't have service fee in the total. My partner chose not to give any. The waiter asked if was there any problem with the food? We said no, it was perfect. Then why didn't we give him extra? Asked again if the food wasn't good. We said no again. And he started to act like a hysterical, offended kid. Started to say that "why no extra? He works for the service extra" and meanwhile we stood up, got our stuff, he was standing next to us, grimace on his face. Mumbled something when we went away.
What should we give him for? The 10 minutes waiting when they clearly had free capacity? Or the basic question "where are you from?" that gets asked from every tourist or that he did his job? We don't feel like it's our responsibility to finance his wage. If the service was below average, it doesn't deserve a tip.
