This place is heaven if you love chocolate and sweet treats. In the café there are lots of indulgent drinks and cakes to pick from. I can recommend the almond slice (like a Bakewell) and the hot chocolate. The view from the café overlooks the water. The chocolate selection in store was amazing, lots of familiar flavours and some intriguing ones to try. I can thoroughly recommend buying lots of them too. When I got home I got some delivered and they came well presented and on time. There is nothing to dislike. And it's dog friendly!

I recently bought a small bag of chocolates from Oban Chocolate Company, and they were fantastic! The quality is outstanding, with rich flavors and a smooth texture. The place itself is beautiful, making it a great spot for chocolate lovers. Highly recommend!

The experience was very bad. The cafe athletics were very good and the cafe was beautiful but the taste was horrible. I took a hot chocolate which was 3/10, a Dubai chocolate mouse, 1/10 and a cream filled biscuit 2/10. The portion size was very small and still they charged me more than £10 for all this. If the taste was good then maybe I could justify the high price. I see a lot of positive reviews but I really doubt them.

I highly recommend going here if you are visiting or passing through Oban! They’ve got a variety delicious drinks, hot chocolates, matcha etc. and a lot of their options can be made vegan as well! There are nice window seats with a lovely view but great to takeaway as well. It also has lots of cute gifts and souvenirs. I kept coming back here during my visit. The perfect place for any chocolate lover.

This was probably my favourite place in Oban if not Scotland. Got the chai latte and it was otherworldly. Their coconut chai cake was my favourite and I got it twice in the two days I was there. The brownie was decadent! The servers are lovely and the service is very efficient. Having a coffee and a heavenly cake with that view is happiness unmatched. This place is a must visit if you’re in Oban.

Google
Nice chocolates and hot chocolate, excellent scones. The takeaway packaging, even for customers sitting in, is a bit disappointing. Granted there is limited seating and I'm sure it gets busy over the peak season, but this attitude seems to prioritise convenience over the environmental cost, and while there were specific bins for the different cups, everything else was put into one general bin.

Went here as part of my stay in Oban. There was a wide variety of food and drink available (see images). Most of these items were chocolate items or themed (in milk, white and dark chocolate) All the food and drink that was on their menu was very good value for money Overall, the scenery was very nice and clean as well with lots of things on the wall to look at. The only slightly negative thing I have to say about this place is that the service speed is slightly slow when they are busy. Personally, I would seriously recommend this place for any 'choc-o-holics' in Oban and would go back here again.

You are hit with the beautiful aromas of coffee and chocolate upon entering the premises, a beautiful presentation of chocolate assortments, and an inviting café bar. I pondered over a small selection of ice cream flavours, finally deciding on elderflower and gooseberry - which was a surprise to me as I don't usually like elderflower, but after sampling it I had to have it. I ordered a Caramel Mocha Coffee which was prepared beautifully, and tasted just as good. The rest of my party had icecream, and a Dark Mocha, a Tea, and a Rich Milk Hot Chocolate, which was very strong chocolate - to the point that my young guest found it overwhelming, and a staff member kindly weakened it by heating up some plain milk. Overall hands down the best experience if icecream and coffee I've had - thank you and I will return!

Yelp
The options in here are amazing! We almost missed going here but I remembered reading about it as one of the things to do in Oban so during our final few hours I dragged my friends over there. Chocolatey heaven! Expect to lose some time in there though if they're short staffed. Only one person was manning the chocolate counter when we were there and there was a line to build your own chocolate boxes. Worth the wait though.

Yelp
Oban Chocolate Co is a charming shop filled with the most incredible items for you to indulge in. We didn't stay in the shop to eat or have a drink, as we had just left dinner and were a wee bit full but we did peruse around and bought some souvenirs for people back home. There are a lot of different types of chocolates and candies you can buy here. Some of the molded stuff is so cute. I wanted to get a fish and chips set but it was large and I could only have a cabin bag with me this trip. Shockingly enough, especially for a tourist spot, the pricing isn't bad here at all. Everything was reasonability priced and I appreciated that (makes me want to buy more.) There was kind of a long line because the coffee/chocolate drinks here smell amazing so I'm sure they must taste amazing. We were just buying some chocolate so the lovely person working behind the counter, wrapping chocolates, was able to check us out really quickly. So nice! If we were to have stayed, there was plenty of comfy looking seating, with great views of the harbor.

Yelp
Great ambiance, delicious pastries and coffee. We got there just before a Monday Morning rush and just sat in the couches and made some decisions about our travels in a no-rush situation.

John S.

Yelp
Excellent chocolate and the service was fantastic - I wish we lived in Oban (though our health might suffer) - to enjoy their fantastic food every day!

Yelp
A great chocolate shop and cafe. My mom and I spent several hours here one rainy afternoon a few days into our trips around Scotland. The cafe is cozy and inviting. We sat on one of the couches, where my mom reviewed the pictures she'd been taking and did some reading and I caught up on some journaling. While the WiFi was decently strong, we also had good mother-daughter conversations over tea, coffee, and hot chocolate (the chilli hot chocolate is smooth and spicy). The cafe looks out to the harbour, which isn't half bad either. We sort of overdid it with chocolates, which is easy with so many options: ordered a sampler plate and asked for a mix of dark and milk chocolates, which we absolutely couldn't eat all of. They gave us a bag to take the remainder away. The chocolates made a nice snack.

Yelp
RELAXING/ ROMANTIC AMBIANCE, DELICIOUS BEVERAGES/ FOOD & AMAZING COLLECTION OF CHOCOLATES! AMBIANCE: We passed by this romantic cute little store during our walk around the harbor and we had to try this. I was very impressed with their chip decor full of various quirky slogans and whole theme was to motivate people to talk to each other and just enjoy the bliss. The sitting area is very spacious and full of huge soft couches which make it very inviting and adding to the whole theme! The chocolate shop was full of various flavors and gift boxes making them perfect for souvenirs. SERVICE, FOOD AND DRINK: You have to order at the booth. The servers were very friendly and explain you various options they have. We ordered dark hot chocolate which was made to perfection and that choco Turtle taking a dip in the cocoa was amusing to watch. We ordered spice tea which was perfectly brewed and that was accompanied by Warm waffle platter with dark and milk chocolate, fresh fruit, cream and strawberry macrons! We also bougth three different chocolate bar combo as a souvenir. Everything came out perfect and we enjoyed every bit of our time at the cafe! I would highly recommend trying this place out!

Yelp
CHOCOLATE! £2 for a four chocolate taster of your choosing... OR £4.5 for 100g, or about 7-8 chocolates they say... My Asian Math Skills says it makes sense to buy two £2 tasters.

Martin A.

Yelp
Good coffee and cakes. Chocolate is home made and delicious. Must try! The waffles are great. Nice place on rainy day. Free Wifi is available

Colin D.

Yelp
This was probably the highlight of the various places we ate and snacked in Oban with the possible exception of the distillery. The hot chocolate was amazing and all of the little chocolates that we got were interesting and tasty. I particularly like the spicy chili chocolate. The comfy couches and view out over the water (albeit across a street as well) complete the experience. If I ever wind up in Oban again, I'll definitely be back for a hot chocolate and to put my feet up for a while.

Tracy W.

Yelp
Do not miss this place while in Oban! We stopped in on a rainy afternoon and the place was full. We ordered a six piece chocolate sampler, which entails them taking you over to the candy counter and letting you pick your chocolates to try (brilliant!) We also ordered two dark chocolate mochas. The candy is where it's at! We loved the caramello, the caramel mint and milk chocolate ganache. We weren't as crazy about the whiskey and Irish cream filled ones, though that was just a preference - YMMV. After all that candy, the mocha was just too much. It was lovely but I was already chocolate wasted. The people near us had waffles, which looked great, and I also saw milkshakes, fondue and a selection of cakes on offer. Go here. It was so worth a three hour train trip from Glasgow.

Ryan D.

Yelp
I absolutely adore this place! Love the waffles, chocolates, hot chocolate and especially the view! Great place to stop for a sweet tooth fix and nice gifts. You can also watch as the chocolates are made freshly in the back through a viewing window!

Therese F.

Yelp
So delighted to have so many dairy free options in the chocolate realm! I've never really understood why some people think dark chocolate needs dairy. The DF hot chocolate was AMAZING!!!

Alisa R.

Yelp
Can you say you've had the best hot chocolate in all of Scotland ... well you can if you go to Oban Chocolate Co. SUPER cute place, lovely large sofas to lounge on and some cute bar stools and high tables spread around a rather large space. There is a lot of seating, but there are also a lot of people who want to taste the BEST hot chocolate in the world =) They have a full cafe with coffee and teas in addition to their wonderful hot coco's, which are made from real melted chocolate! You can get 60% or 80% dark chocolate. Plus they have an amazing ( I'm using that word a lot but that's because they are AMAZING) chocolate truffles! They have loads of different kinds of truffles and literally they are melt in your month delicious! I haven't tried their other yummies, they have cakes and waffles and locally made ice cream! They looked delicious, but as much as I love chocolate, I can only consume so much in one sitting =) O and they CAN do their hot chocolates with soy milk! Which I love since most places had some kind of milk already mixed in with their chocolate... the benefits of melting real chocolate into the drink!

Doris Z.

Yelp
The dessert here was okay, nothing over the top. Got the ultimate fondue with waffles, fruits, popcorn and shortbread. Neither the white chocolate nor the dark chocolate sauce really impressed me. In fact, the dark chocolate disappointed me a little. We got americano and latte, both were just fine. The cashier girl had a bit of attitude and we had to ask for knifes... But I imagine this place gets quite fun in the evening with live music?

Randolph Z.

Yelp
Well, that was nice. We stumbled upon this romantic little shop while wandering aimlessly on a cold July evening. There was a bit of live music and a packed house to listen, with easygoing kindness displayed by all. It's a bit boutique, so things are fairly pricey, but consider it a top-quality experience with unbeatable atmosphere, looking over the bay. There is a chill wind outside, but you are sipping a dense hot chocolate and no evil can assault you here. A fleeting sense of well-being coalesces in your soul.

Yelp
Wow! Simply perfect. One of the best hot chocolates I've had. They have a huge selection in this gorgeous shop and cafe in Oban. I chose a 72% cocoa Venezuelan hot chocolate, whilst Mary had a 40% Ghanaian. Both were delicious, with the option for cream and marshmallows too. We also got a cute little chocolate each too. For treats, I had a billionaire shortbread (can somebody please explain the difference between billionaire and millionaire in this context??) and Mary had a scone (obviously!). Both were delicious. The shortbread was excellent, the chocolate layer was fresh and soft, and the caramel oozed gloriously. Price is great for the quality, and the staff, ambience, and view are great too. There is also a shop section where you can buy what look like amazing products. Maybe I'll have a quick browse.....

Yelp
Belinda Carlisle was right when she sang heaven is a place on earth and its in Oban. During a recent weekend away to Oban, myself and my dad's partner Rebecca decided to treat ourselves to an afternoon sugar fix at the Chocolate Company. We were spoiled for choice with hot chocolates, cakes and desserts! I went for a waffle with banana, cream and toffee sauce and a cup of tea served in the cutest purple teapot! Every mouthful was like a little slice of heaven, warm, sweet and delicious! It was the highlight of my weekend and any future trips to Oban will always include a visit here!

Bob R.

Yelp
I still remember how happy I was to stumble upon a real chocolatier in this coastside town. The familiarity that comes from recognizing IKEA furniture that one has on the other side of the ocean is somewhat freaky. Sent a box to a friend in Preston later and she liked them a lot.

John R.

Yelp
Easily the best hot chocolate I've ever had. I got the Ghana single origin hot chocolate and it makes all other hot chocolates seem a waste of my time and taste buds. I also shared a piece of chocolate cake with some friends, and it was also super tasty. I plan to go back... any time I can make it to the West Coast.

Sonam J.

Yelp
This is a great, spacious place to hang out and sip some tea or hot chocolate. Hot chocolate is obviously good-I had the dark hot chocolate and was a huge fan. Can get a bit busy, but it's a good sized cafe with a lot of seating

Jonas B.

Yelp
The chocolate we bought was good, which it should be at that price. The cappuccino was okay. A high three stars, but I won't go higher right now.

Nader S.

Yelp
What a lovely place! You'll find a shop with handmade chocolate as well as a coffee shop. The quality of the product is very high and you can even see where all the products are made. I've tried some whisky chocolate balls: delicious!

Lesley S.

Yelp
A must stop if you you're in Oban and have a sweet tooth. Have been before and the chilli got chocolate was better than I remember. Our group had mint and strawberry ice cream, regular hot chocolate, chilli hot chocolate, and a piece of salty peanut caramel. All were great especially the chilli hot chocolate & chocolate slab! Saw some people eating the waffles, which looked very chocolatey and a big portion. Tog can also buy all kinds of chocolates as gifts. Great way to warm up on a cold day.

Crystal P.

Yelp
Lovely setting looking out over the bay and absolutely fab cakes and cookies in their cafe. You can have a look at chocolate making through a window and sample some of the chocolates in the cafe. The staff are wonderfully helpful and will even give you the rundown of what to do once you decide that you've spent too much time in what is a brilliant, brilliant cafe and shop.

Wendy B.

Yelp
Very comfortable establishment. Tables and chairs, large sofas and places to encourage conversation! We had wonderful treats and great conversation with other guests! Great location and our treats were delicious!

Chris And Tanja B.

Yelp
Fun little stop in Oban if you want something different. Kind of a mix of chocolate/coffee shop and the chocolate was great. Was there in winter and hot chocolate was great. Coffee was not bad was well. Fun spot to sit if you can get a couch or for "to go". Brownies are amazingly good too...

Yelp
We decided to visit this afternoon and treat ourselves to a waffle. As I had done a 10K run on Sunday, I decided that I deserved a treat. We went into the shop/café at 4:20pm and all the tables were occupied. I did notice that the closing time was 5pm. We had a quick look at the shop section and then headed to the counter to look at the blackboard menus. Then I saw that one gentleman was occupying a table for 4 so we asked if we could sit down at the table as well. No problem, so we did. The table was very messy from previous customers. My mum looked at the menu and was deciding what to have on her waffle when the waitress came over to clear the table. She asked for her recommendation (banana and butterscotch) whereas the man at the table recommended the salted caramel. I had decided to have the special of the month. I checked with the waitress on how to order - go up to the counter. My mum was still deciding when the waitress came back and said that as it was 4:30pm, they were no longer serving waffles. Waffles finish at 4:30pm apparently! I pointed out jokingly that it was only 4:29pm. The waitress said that the manager had said that waffles finish at 4:30pm - I could see no sign/notice to that effect in the shop/café - but she then told us that we could have fondue and proceeded to show us the fondue section in the menu! If we had wanted fondue in the first place, we would have asked for fondue. What a cheek! This was 30 mins before closing time. So we walked out. ckearly they can afford to turn away custom! I am not at all impressed with the attitude of the manager. Nothing at all to do with the poor waitress. We were not rude to her, we did not have a go at anyone, we just simply decided to take our custom elsewhere.very disappointed to be treated in this fashion!!! This took the gloss off our lovely day in Oban.

Yelp
Best coffee in complete Oban! You must also try their waffles, which are freshly made and the delicious. Bought some small pieces of good choclate, too. Choclate is not that cheap but very tasty compared to normal. Really lovely is the huge window front where you have a superb view of the harbour.

S H.

Yelp
i love this little coastal cafe it has an amazing view over the harbor and the chocolate was brilliant, i love the fact that you pick out your own chocolate onto a little plate to take back to your table to eat, the other thing i love about this place is that you can watch the chocolate chefs making the chocolates, i must have stood there for ten minutes if not more. this little cafe is the perfect place to sit down and read as well as drink and eat some amazing chocolate.
