Oban Seafood Hut.. (Green Shack)

We got in a stop here during our 2015 visit. My travelling companion had to find this place due to having had seafood on the dock some 20 years previous. This was the first time I had ever tried Langoustines (with the head still attached). This culinary expedition might be for some. Needless to say, all the food was very very fresh..

We come to this seafood hut every time we visit Oban. The seafood is amazing and fresh and the staff are friendly. This time we tried some oysters which were sweet and creamy. We also ordered a salmon sandwich, a shared plate and garlic razor clams. They were all very delicious and fresh. It is definitely our favourite seafood shack in Scotland.

Amazing!! Thank you so much for your service. I am so glad that we came. We went to other restaurants in Oban but this place far fresher and richer flavors of the ocean. Best seafood experience during our whole scotland journey. The memory of this for sure lasts for a long time, then after while I have to come back again!! This was the best food I had in Scotland. The prices were unbeatable but that did not detract at all from the quality. The service was fast even though there was a big line and the workers were so friendly. There is limited seating so you may have to eat standing up but it is worth it. The highlight for me was the steamed muscles. They were so perfectly cooked and tender. The lemon butter sauce for the scallops were also so great as well. There cold sandwiches are probably the best deal for so much fresh seafood for around 5 pounds.

Sublime & great value! Mussels were superb big portion for £5,95 and super nice. Fresh seafood and local oysters are brine, creamy and fleshy yummy. I like the vibe, outdoors with limited seats. A basin to wash your hands available and superb friendly staff. Bear in mind, a cash only place

As soon as we arrived, we went straight to Local Shellfish. Everyone comes here following the smell of freshly cooked fish. And the oysters are so big that you can't finish them in one bite. I also really liked the lobster, and the langoustes were super!

Located right next to ferry station. Came here for seafood, so the ambience did not matter as long as the seafood was fresh. We shared the table with other people and stood and ate. Loved the mussels cooked in white wine and garlic, very fresh and delectable and good value for price! As they are so yummy, seafood platter, on the other hand, did not taste as good especially when we ate mussels first. Oysters were good value for money as well, big size and fresh, but not the crunchy type of oyster. Will definitely come back again but for mussels cooked with wine and garlic.

Definitely the place to go for fresh seafood. The scallops, langoustines and mussels were especially delicious and such great value. Sweet, fresh and perfectly cooked (you can opt for it served hot or cold). Although there were queues, service was very quick. Highly recommend.

Cooked me up a KG of muscles right in front of me and they were the best I ever had. Prices great too and just super fresh seafood.

A do-not-miss destination for any stop-over in Oban, this green shack has fresher than fresh seafood of pretty much any variety you can conjure up: razor clams, scallops, mussels, oysters, shrimp, langoustines, salmon, crab, and more. Enjoy the sweet, clean flavor raw or cooked to order with some garlic and butter. The line can be justifiably long, but it's well worth the wait. There are some covered picnic tables outside, but we just grabbed a to-go box and ate sitting by the bay.

Fresh fresh fresh. Sweet juicy mussels. Fat oysters. Lovely big scallops. An authentic sea town experience on wooden tables on the water front. Loved it.

An absolute must. Better seafood here than in most fancy brick and mortar seafood restaurants. Worth the wait. Scallops and lobster are a must.
