Oban Youth Hostel

Staff is very friendly and approachable. Room and all the areas we saw were so clean. The area that could be improved on is the shower in 103 it could do with a way to block water going out into the room. The shower is powerful, and if u take longer than 45 seconds, you'll flood the room. We would stay here everytime it was such an easy stay. We felt so welcome.

Honestly amazing £140 for three nights in January, en-suite private room, clean and massive! As well as a fully stocked kitchen which made cooking so much easier and cheaper. Honestly couldn't recommend a more fantastic hostel or trip. We had the best weather and enjoyed our day trips to Mull & Kererra! Scotland can still be fun even in peak winter!

Everything was superb, location is a few minutes away from the center and the staff is super friendly. Facilities are also big and spacious, the kitchen is great for any sorts of cooking. Thank you to the staff for their kindness! I’ll be back :)

Coincidental and impromptu: I reached this hostel hotel and have added nights which was needed for rest from injuries received from other places. Accommodation is quiet, peaceful and without much problems compared to the same company at another city months ago. Staying here helped to heal my sore swollen feet and more *view photo* Staff was not intrusive, very understanding as I am injured and needed to smoke near the window because of recovery from pain while outdoors could compromised medication or numb veins. Staff was very accommodating when checking into after 2200hr despite reception being closed. It would be good if there is better heater in rooms, a computer for guest to use or rental car or shuttle services. This location is a nice relaxed quiet place (not too many people) during the winter while the price of direct payment is better than other websites and the 3 for 2nights is a very smart promotion. Here is an excellent summer spot.

Pre-ferry overnight stay in this well positioned hostel on the seafront. ||Since I am no youth and do not want to share a bunk room I booked a double room with its own toilet and shower. This was perfect for my single night with an early start.||I arrived at a busy time on a Friday night but was welcomed and asked politely to wait to be checked in. Everyone was being given all of the relevant information for the hostel, the facilities and the local area in a friendly and helpful way.||My room was a good size and very comfortable. I had a good sleep and was happy to strip the bed as requested on my departure. This is a good way of helping out the hostel staff so that they have more time to interact with guests.||I was able to park in the hostel car park but had it been full there were spaces on the promenade which would have been free overnight.||I expect to stay here again.

This hostel was nice and well for few days but then received much pain, fear and other worries with extra costs. In the room that is appreciated days ago; I felt my spine suffocating with frequent sudden “heat/sharp” stroke pain after some ‘Indian and Chinese’ guests insulted me through sarcasm. Perhaps there are food poisoning to palpitations, hidden cameras, microphones or devices while people open my locked bags and items creating fear and more. These occurred exactly at another Hostelling Scotland that led to much injuries after possible religious discrimination to food and others.It is felt much more here because of excessive payments where I had to pay more money despite arrival at night while being injured: I was supposed to be checking out the day after but tomorrow. These problems occur many times through influences of Booking.com companies of hatred to me (and divulge bank card details) after making a police report against them of their wrongs. However, felt incriminated or implicated through pain, strategic theft, threats of getting arrested and more. Christmas and any festive joy here has been ruined because of this Hostelling Scotland of excessive costs and similar color of skin discrimination felt at another location. On a lighter note: perhaps these occurred because of an Asian bank as inform from some travel companies.

This is a stunningly good youth hostel. We stayed in a family room and had comfy beds, warmth, a shower and toilet, and most importantly a huge window looking out at the sea and the bay. There are lovely hanging out rooms downstairs, with equally lovely views. And a great kitchen and dining area. The staff were so friendly and helpful too. A really great place to stay in Oban!

Probably the best hostel I’ve stayed at ever. The staff is incredibly helpful and always available. The views from the dining halls are stunning! They also have an option of a paid breakfast which is very handy. Housekeeping cleans your room everyday. They even have board game nights for the residents. This is where I’ll be staying every time I’m in Oban.
