Updated Review: The gondola ride up was really nice and scenic. We purchased Thrill Pass tickets online ($146 each). We experienced an issue with the tickets, but they made good on an offer to remedy the situation and I’m very appreciative of that. I don’t think buying tickets online helped avoid any lines nor save time, because once we arrived we had to wait in line at guest services to redeem our online ticket for a wristband. Consider waiting and purchasing tickets there if you go so that you can verify what is open and get a good sense of the place. The alpine coaster was fun. The chair lift to the top observation deck was peaceful with a beautiful view, and it was a nice touch to have a banjo player playing live music on the deck. If they had served drinks at the top (hot cider, coffee, etc) that you could enjoy with the view, then that would have made the ride even better. It is a little older of a destination, which is evidenced by the technology and systems they have in place, as well as little things related to the ambiance. And as a couple traveling together, there wasn’t a lot to keep us busy all day. All in all, if I had small children, it may have been a better value because there is ice skating, bumper cars and swings. But Gatlinburg offers so many options for chair lift rides, alpine coasters and zip lining, that I didn’t find this to be good value for the price for adults.

This is an amazing venue with multiple attractions. Great for “kids” of all ages. The fall foliage vistas on the tram, the chair lift, and the observation deck are incredible and indescribable. The chairlift in particular reminds me much of parasailing in the Caribbean, insofar as it is quiet and smooth and isolated. it’s almost as if you’re in a world all your own. You have to see and experience it for yourself! We bought the fun pass, which included all of that and also a small wildlife habitat zoo, a rock wall, a carousel, ice-skating, a mountain coaster, and ice bumper boats. It’s best to get there when they open because you’ll otherwise run out of time to do everything that is included on your ticket. You can do everything, except for the mountain coaster, more than once. There are several coupon magazines around Gatlinburg. We were able to get four dollars off per ticket using those coupons. Still well worth the money even at full price! If you want to maximize your time, I would recommend to hit the mountain coaster first, as this is the attraction at which we had to wait most in line.

We had a great time at Ober Mountain. Ice Skating was the best part of our visit. The kids enjoyed the snow area outside, even though that was pretty small ( could be improved with toys to play in the snow) and the rock climbing. After taking the chair lift to the observation deck we were freezing from the cold temperature, hence we wanted to get a hot chocolate. We waited in line for 20 minutes only to be told that hot chocolate wasn't available anymore. That was at 5pm. Even though it was a busy day, I have little to no understanding for that. You shouldn't run out of hot chocolate even on a busy day.

Ober Mountain is truly a gem in the heart of the Smokies! Whether you're visiting in the winter for skiing and snowboarding or enjoying the alpine slide and scenic chair lift in the warmer months, there's always something exciting to do. The views from the top are absolutely breathtaking, and the tram ride up from downtown Gatlinburg is a unique and memorable experience all on its own. The staff is friendly, helpful, and truly makes you feel welcome. Everything was clean, well-maintained, and organized — from the ski rentals to the eateries. We especially enjoyed the wildlife encounter, where we got to see black bears and river otters up close. Great for families, couples, or solo adventurers looking to enjoy nature with a touch of fun. If you're in the area, Ober Mountain is a must-visit! Can’t wait to return for another unforgettable experience.

A fun way to spend the afternoon! The ice skating was great, and even though the snow tubing and other winter attractions open tomorrow, there was still plenty to enjoy. One of my favorite things was the Wildlife Habitat ~ you can see black bears, river otters, foxes, eagles, and more for free! We even got to watch the crew feed the otters, which was adorable 🥰 Ober also have year-round activities like the Aerial Tramway, the Tennessee Flyer mountain coaster, a scenic chairlift, the alpine slide, downhill mountain biking (seasonal), and the Cloud Catcher zipline. There are several dining and shopping options too - we like the BBQ restaurant. Such a fun place! Highly recommend 👍

One of the must experience in Gatlinburg ! Breathtaking view from mountain chair is the best. The tram is also nice. The food is okay. Coaster ride was fun and kids liked it. We could not do zip line but next time we will surely do that first thing ! Overall, best day spent ! We were there for close to 6 hours and felt it’s not enough lol !

It's fun, Octoberfest during the week for our daughter wasn't that busy. We enjoyed lots of the activities and spent most of the day there. Lots of the activities and equipment is for sure dated and needs some updating or improvements. Most of the employees were nice and assistive. The tram you need to get there at 9:40 to enjoy the views without it being crowded. We spent most of the day there and left about 4:30. Money spent was worth what we did as a total I believe. Ski lift to the observation deck was a nice and restful time.

Our experience at Ober Mountain was mixed. On the positive side, the activities were fun — my family and I really enjoyed the inflatable tubing and the mountain coaster. Those attractions were exciting and made for good memories together. However, the customer service was disappointing. Three of my family members couldn’t do the activities with us because tickets were sold out, and the staff refused to sell additional tickets or modify the ones we had already purchased for another day. I called several times before going, but the people who answered didn’t seem informed and only told me to send emails, which I did — and never received a response. On top of that, you have to pay for absolutely everything; even parking costs $35. While the activities themselves were fun, the poor customer service and extra costs took away from the overall experience.☃️
