Observatory Guest House

We had an overnight stay planned in Busselton while on a road trip in WA. I found this on Google maps and booked the Hamelin Bay Queen room 2 months in advance as there are a limited number of rooms. The booking process was easy and I was kept updated as the day approached. I was sent a code, two days prior to arriving, to access the property and the room or you can make arrangements to have someone meet you.|Our room was a good size. It was clean and had a comfortable bed and furnishings, a decent size TV and a small fridge. The bathroom was also very clean. The guesthouse was a 400metre flat walk to Foreshore Parade, restaurants and the jetty. Most of the rooms were upstairs. (no lift) The area was also very quiet during our stay.|There are no staff on site and a help yourself continental breakfast was available with tables having been set up the evening before. The kitchen was clean and everything well organised. Also free parking was available around the back of the property.|Definitely worth a look for its location, price and amenities if staying in Busselton for a night or 2.

A nice and cosy place to stay. The room is not big but clean and comfortable.As we knew there is no elevator, we pack our stuff in an overnight bag so we have no problem carrying it to the room upstairs.It's very near the Busselton Jetty so we could have a nice stroll along the Jetty during sunset and wow it was beautiful!!Breakfast was pretty basic but good enough.We really enjoyed the stay :-)

Great Bed n Breakfast near the foreshore. Comfy bed, easy carparking and a well stocked kitchen room for self serve breakfast|We only stayed for a night but would|Definitely stay again if I returned to Busselton. Highly recommended… just be aware some rooms are upstairs … we had some heavy luggage!

Very dated old guesthouse. The only good thing was the location near the Jetty. Old bed and linen. The room was not serviced, TV dreadful, self service breakfast- great if you like tinned fruit ! Bread etc in the fridge, put your plate in the sink when finished. Not recommended. The worst guesthouse I’ve ever stayed at.

my sister from UK booked this 4 stars is a joke.more like a hostel. No service the owners could hardly speak English when questioned about problems with the room or issues. No make up of beds or tidy up. They were expected to do everything including washing dishes and tidy up after breakfast. Such a pity as it is a good location and they could make it so much better. Not a good impression. They do not recommend this unless you like it simple and basic.

Great location, good parking, small room but clean and comfortable enough. The walls are thin, the staircase very narrow, its got a backpacker hostel vibe I thought.🤔 Supposedly adults only, I was surprised to run into a child on the landing when we came out of our room. 😳This place is fine for the money but no way in the world is it 4 star! 🤣 Communication was the main issue for me with zero reply to phone messages and very slow response to email, so in my opinion, the service is really poor. It was a lack lustre experience that I wouldn't repeat.

Great stay. Room was clean. Location great. Tap on the bathroom sink loose and needed tightening. Coffee machine not able to be used due to lack of descaler. Could have used citric acid or bought descaler so that it worked. Otherwise a great stay.

Clean, great position. Breakfast provided. Needs some maintenance, especially in our bathroom, grate broken right in the middle of the floor. Trip hazard.
