Observatory Retreat - Private Stargazing Dome near Joshua Tree

The Observatory Retreat is the most fun, unique, and unforgettable Airbnb we’ve ever stayed at. If you’re interested in seeing stars in Joshua Tree or have a budding astronomer in your family, staying here is a MUST. Having your own private observatory, tricked-out with spacy lighting and option to play your own music while checking out the stars, is a destination in itself. But additionally the house has so much more to offer: two game rooms with foosball, head-to-head arcade, pool table, air hockey, giant connect four, shuffleboard (and more!). And it’s dog friendly! There were plenty of thoughtful touches throughout that made the house feel cozy and inviting. The host provided us with an extremely useful online guide to the house, making check-in & check-out a breeze. Through that guide we were able to book local astronomer Steven (highly recommend!) who showed us some amazing things in the sky 🌌 . Even with the breadth of information from the online guide, our host reached out to make sure everything was ok. A five star experience for sure. We’ll definitely be back.
