6 Best All-inclusive Resorts in Cozumel

"Perched near a nature preserve at the island’s southern tip, this hacienda-style resort delivers a secluded, jungle-meets-sea vibe with a white-sand beach, private dock and multiple dining and pool options—seven restaurants, five bars and four pools. Wellness facilities include a fitness center, hydromassage tub and sauna, and travelers can pay for a Royal Level upgrade that provides boutique-style exclusivity (exclusive restaurant, whirlpool tubs in bathrooms) and perks such as included Wi‑Fi, which is not part of the standard package." - Meagan Drillinger Meagan Drillinger Meagan Drillinger left New York City for a life on the road. I have been coming to the Occidental Cozumel for many years and stayed at least 6 or 7 times. I come mostly for the scuba diving ( extra charge) which is always very good and Pro Dive has a shop on the property which is very convenient. The grounds are always well maintained, the staff is always extremely helpful and friendly and the rooms are always clean and comfortable and quiet. Although the room prices vary with the season, I have always found the resort very reasonably priced. As an all-- inclusive I would describe the food as adequate and OK but hardly like a 5 star restaurant. Person who might want a more upscale dining experience might think about paying more for the "Royal Level" on the property which has a private dining room and meals. But I'm not here for that so the usual dining has been fine for me. Unfortunately, the beach area has receded somewhat over the years, but as I'm not really one to sit on the beach it really hasn't affected my opinion of the hotel. But there still is a beach area and the pools are pretty nice. There is no question I will return in the future.

This is my third time here and I love it. The employees are incredibly nice and helpful with everything you need. The location is perfect where you are near the beach but you get some privacy as the resort is in the jungle. You get to see tons of the cute animals because of this. The rooms are nice, but we had an issue with the bathroom door. Overall a wonderful time and we plan to come back.

A lovely hotel on Cozumel, snack bar was always fully stocked and the ice cream machine was fun. The drink ladies are impressive I don’t know how they balance the tray so perfectly without breaking a sweat. The animation staff was nice I loved the international night. The beach side pool is such a cool feature I wish more hotels had. It was my second time here and I would consider coming back a beautiful hotel at a decent price. The hotel is surrounded by lush green trees and plants, easy to spot local wild life. This hotel is perfect for those who like nature

Google
Everything met or exceeded my expectations. I have allergies(milk, eggs, gluten, and cashews) and couldn't eat the buffet as it was prepared, and the chef made me meals every day for breakfast and dinner. The concierge helped me by purchasing an SD card. Another staff member was able to go to the store for me when the hotel shop didn't have what I needed. The dive center and guides were wonderful. Great instructor, Carolina, and overall, a fun group. I will definitely book another trip.

Google
I recently stayed at this hotel and had a mixed experience. The staff were exceptionally welcoming and friendly! The breakfast and dinner options were good, unfortunately the lunch restaurant didn’t meet the same standards. The food options were limited and the quality felt average compared to the other meals. The location is amazing. Being surrounded by nature and the beautiful mangroves was a unique and peaceful experience. The beach was small but it was nice. The rooms were spotless and well-maintained. It was clear the housekeeping team took pride in their work. However, the towel system was not efficient. We had to leave a card to get our towels and by the time we were done using them, the staff who would exchange the towels for the cards was not there anymore. Additionally, the towels were not as clean as they should have been. The cups provided by the hotel, either from the adult beverages at the poolside/beach or at the restaurants, were also not thoroughly cleaned. I ended up with a skin infection and stomach infection during my stay. This was a major disappointment, as I’ve never had such issues before.

The food at the LA Carreta was 100% great. The service and waiting staff were the best. The First Club Lounge was great and staff was wonderful. The pool and beach were outstanding. The staff: Ramon, Shylan and Carlos from the First Club were the best!! Staff from La Carreta: Armondo & Claudia, Captain Shanu & Roger, and Coanero-Pedro were very good, friendly and personable, and were very good at their job. The Customer Service Staff were marvelous. Staff: Odalys, Maricruz & Alejandra were friendly. Knowledgeable and caring. Great to work with these staff members.

Google
This has been such a lovely experience! Occidental Cozumel is a beautiful resort with a wonderful friendly staff. The food is seriously out-of-this-world delicious!! The rooms are great - comfy beds, spacious bathrooms, excellent housekeeping, endless bottled water, etc. The grounds are immaculately manicured and maintained with sightings of lizards, birds and other fun creatures. The value for your money is truly astonishing considering drinks are always on the house!

Google
First of all I want to shout out to the Royal level team,Odalys, Alejandra, Maricruz and also the stuff at La Carreta restaurant Meseros, Armando, Claudia, Carlos, Rogelio and Shany. This is a lovely secluded place surrounded by the jungle and is very serene and quiet. I stayed at the Royal level and was pampered like a king they really make sure you stay is the best it can be and any problems were addressed with immediately. Slightly older place the Wi-Fi could be better but was fine and a little trouble with the hot water but they fixed it right away. We had a nice private pool and the food and private restaurant was absolutely wonderful. I went to a couple of other restaurants the corral or the Playa at the beach where they had a wonderful buffet and on certain night specialty seafood. Are you a cane so I was able to gain access to a shuttle if needed but it is walkable with a cane. Pro dive is on location for your convenience.

Yelp
My husband and I were here with his brother and his brother family for a week long scuba trip. This is a great location for scuba diving. They have a scuba dive shop at the hotel location so it makes it very convenient for us to dive. This hotel is all inclusive with various tiers. Basic, Premium and Royal. We got the premium rooms and with premium we got some perks as well. Most of important perk was the ability to reserve tables for special dinners every night. In addition to the buffet, they have special dinners every night at Mexican, Mediterranean or sea food restaurant. You can only reserve a table at the special dinners every night if you have premium or royal suite. Staff and bartenders were great. Great hospitality throughout our stay. Highly recommend this place even if you're not a scuba diver. They have an adult pool and a small beach area as well.

Yelp
I went to this hotel 2 years ago and it was great, beach is beautiful with white sand. I came back and they had my room wrong the first day which took 2 hours to fix (not happy), on November 8 at 5:30pm, a poor lady was attacked by a crocodile and I was there to witness. Her and her little girl scream will stay in my head and they way the crocodile dragged her in the water. They really need to have signs to beware of crocodile. the Staff stays quiet about the crocodile and dont tell you why the beach closes at 6pm. They sent a form to the poor lady basically saying it's not the hotel fault and no police report will be needed.

Yelp
Staying in the royal section made the trip worth it. Private pool for royal members only and better restaurant. Rooms are also much nicer. Lots of wild animals, ocean is very close! And scuba diving is excellent! Food was a hit or miss for us. We did not try the buffet

Yelp
We love this resort! Pools, diving right at the resort , water aerobics, ping ping, pickle ball , tennis, great buffets, wonderful food, great staff! They even have an adult only pool.

Yelp
We were disappointed in the Occidental, mostly with the food. The grounds are beautiful and the rooms are fine if a bit run down. Staff is friendly but badly trained. The pool areas are great although you must claim your lounge before 8 if you want a decent space. The adult pool was nice with a fantastic bartender . 10+ ! The Maître D at the Coral specialty restaurant, Reuben was super. Now the poor. Food was dangerous ignoring the hot food hot, cold food cold rule. Food containers were left empty until a customer complained. How tough is it to notice there is no more bacon or that the dessert area is almost empty? The quality and seasoning of the food was very disappointing. Bland and oddly too much or too little salt. And how about some other spices? Also why get quality soft-serve machines when you put in poor ice-cream mix. Really poor! Our maid seemed to be deeply unhappy to be there. She just scowled at us. The room would eventually be cleaned (well) but the fridge was never refilled. Getting a reservation at the specialty restaurant was impossible. So we tried walking up. No chance at the Med or Mexican places even though they were mostly empty. Thank goodness for Reuben. In sum we enjoyed our week in Cozumel, a wonderful place . The Occidental wasn't terrible but wasn't very good either. Greatly preferred the Fiesta Americana.

Yelp
This was the worst trip I have ever had. Not only did they double charge me when their system messed up my reservation they would not give me my room key WHICH WAS PAID FOR until I paid for the other room. Then 24 hours later they started constructing on the room next to mine with paint thinner bleeding into my room. I demanded a new room as the food there was atrocious. They had me in literal tears out of sheer frustration. Not only did they not refund anything or attempt to make any thing right. Only reason I did not fly home early as it was in a group trip for my friend's birthday. The beach was small, the pool was falling down into the surf. DO NOT go here.

Ryan C.

Yelp
We are inclusive Royal tier owners are this resort. Despite being here many times over the past ~twenty years; this last year I suffered a broken bone at the resort due to negligence on their staffs part. I did as the resort management told me, and went to the Hospital they recommended as well as provided all documented evidence for them - despite this, their management made our stay a miserable experience. They had no air condition the entirety of the stay, and they did nothing to rectify the experience whatsoever after the fact even after promising to do so in front of me and my entire family, who are also owners. We will never be returning to this location, and I warn anyone to tread carefully of their management at this particular location. THE WORST TRIP OF MY LIFE. We will never be returning, including all of my family and friends. Do not vacation here, you will be throwing your literal money away as we did - what a waste of thousands of dollars.

Yelp
We frequent Cozumel each year...as a matter of fact, this past year we went 3 times. We usually stay in town but chose to stay further out for the beach. We enjoyed the tropical forest area however the beach had been washed out. The location for diving was spectacular! We were the last ones on the boat and the first ones off1. That in itself is a plus. Seeing the coatis, and iguanas everywhere was particularly fun. The rooms were clean and cozy but the beds need to be replaced as they were hard and uncomfortable. the staff was kind and helpful throughout our visit. The food was your typical All 'Inclusive mediocre.....we usually go into town for dinner which was harder as it was $27 cab fare and 30 minutes drive.

Yelp
This was definitely an experience. Our checkin was 7/14/24, upon arrival we were told due to the recent hurricane the AC is not working but being worked on and should be up by the following day. Well that was not the case, the whole stay of 3 days the AC did not work. The food was not up to par, basically horrible. The drinks the same, the best only drink that was good was the champagne. The beach club restaurant had flies and other bugs during meal time could barely eat. I ordered a medium well ribeye I swear I was served a pork chop. They definitely tried me.The adult pool closes at 8pm which is ridiculous , who goes on vacation to go not be able to enjoy amenities all night. Needless to say I definitely do not recommend this resort that seems to be in the middle of the jungle with barely a beach as on the site. Please do yourself a favor and pick another resort.

Yelp
Not like it use to be! It is showing the wear & tear. Really run down AC not functioning to full capacity in rooms they are so wet you sleep on wet sheets. Food is ok. The resort is very nice from the outside, but food & rooms need attention. Beach is Pretty much gone. The restaurant & wait staff are amazing. Perfect area to snorkel and enjoy the Caribbean and restaurants. But again the resort needs attention.

Stephanie C.

Yelp
Customer service is terrible-the toilette was plugged up, requested it to be fixed three times. It took 18 hours and the manager to stand outside our door waiting for maintenance. We had to ask multiple times for two towels, there was only one in the room. It took a complaint to management to get the towels and extra pillows. When we asked for more toilette paper, it never showed up. We had to go search linen closets. We attended the "welcome breakfast" of high pressure sales to join the members only club. We were told 90 minutes total but were kept for over 2 hours. Let me save the 90 minute talk. They want $25,000 for their members only fee plus $300 a year plus $45 per person per night. . wouldn't join a membership here if they paid me to. Cleanliness is lacking-mold around tub, old stained tub, shower doesn't drain, dirty comfortable-when I requested a clean one, they flipped it around and didn't change it out. The rooms are old, missing pictures. No fridge, no microwave. Be sure to bring your feminine products because, if you have an unexpected visitor , they have nothing to accommodate you and the closest place is a thirty Minute drive. The nightclub was scheduled to be opened, showed up to an empty room and was told it was closed tonight because they had a live band earlier that day in the square . So no nightly entertainment, except a bar the size of a closet. I would give it zero stars if I had an option to do so.

Yelp
This is our 4th visit here. It always feels like home. During COVID services were somewhat limited, as with all businesses. We stayed I. The Royal Level, which I highly recommend! The restaurant and pool area set aside for Royal patrons is quite nice. There is attention to detail such as luggage assistance and the special service desk which makes checkin very smooth and they provide assistance with other details such as providing change for the large peso bills, 500s, which come out of the ATM. The food is good. Specialty restaurants are very good and the buffets have a great variety of tasty options. The entertainment has returned and it was really fun. We greatly enjoyed the circus, the casino night and the Mariachi band. There are a few cons, as with any location. The beach is disappearing but once in the water there is sand and some grass. I would recommend water shoes. They are making the best of the challenge of rising sea levels and erosion by having an area of beach on the north side of the resort but this took away the area for beach games. The major annoyance for me is that they do not have a true concierge. Be aware that if you go to the desk labeled concierge you are stepping into the "timeshare" presentation trap. We did actually ask to go to through the presentation since we have been here multiple times. It was not high pressure but also did not pencil out financially for us. The problem was that every time we tried to get help from the concierge, despite having done the presentation, we were asked again if we would do it in order to get access to their services. Once we told them we had done it already then they would help us. My recommendation is to work directly with the individual service providers. We highly recommend Alberto's, see my separate review. Our biggest disappointment was the dive operation. It was one of the main reasons we kept coming back. There is a lack of organization and communication is poor. The boat was packed and not well set up for the ocean conditions or the number of divers. In the past the divers had been sorted based on experience and dives were chosen accordingly. Our group of 4 was crammed in the front of the boat where the diesel fumes were suffocating and the dive was in a very uninteresting section of Santa Rosa wall. We were asked to basically stay nose to tail and not vary our depth from the dive master. We did a refresher dive and one other dive but were so disappointed that we forfeited the money for the other three dives, there are no refunds. I would recommend you consider working with another dive operation. They will pick you up at the Occidental dock and we have heard good things from other divers here at the resort who have done this. I do want to give a very positive review to the young man in the equipment storage. He was a definite bright spot in our experience. Overall would recommend Occidental but with some modifications for activities.

Yelp
Start off with the good. This place is nice if your looking for somewhere cheap and quiet. The food I thought was better than other all inclusive resorts I have stayed at before and the service and entertainment staff was amazing. Rooms are spacious. Now the bad To start off with when we arrived we where put in a room that was already occupied. I walked to the front desk to make sure and they said that it was the correct room and they will remove the stuff In there. So two hours go by and they never came to remove the other bags. I go back to the front desk and ask why they haven't got the other bags out and they told me that I was in the wrong room and need to move. They didn't make an effort to inform me that I was in some else's room with their stuff in it for two hours. I had to make the effort to make sure we had the right room. Front desk staff is probably the worst of any resort I have stayed and and not very helpful on multiple occasions.

Yelp
I don't know why this all inclusive has such low stars. I have been here 4 times, 3 before the hurricane. It is a smaller resort which is exactly what I want. There are 4 restaurants available and the buffet which has an array of choices for breakfast and dinner. The food is not meant to be a 5 star Michelin grade, there are so many people they need to get it fast for everyone to eat. The people are amazing, Guadalupe at the beach bar is very attentive and Luis in the steakhouse was a delight to meet. The staff is very accommodating and the rooms are perfect. They're clean and the brooms are huge. January the beach has a higher tide so there isn't as much of a beach as some may like but the pool is right next to it. The drinks are amazing and yes you can upgrade your alcohol by simply asking for non well. I highly recommend this all inclusive it is amazing, you can walk to food, bars, pool and beach in under 5 minutes if you want a larger resort with more people this isn't for you. The ocean and weather are out of the staffs control, they go over the top to accommodate.

Yelp
We chose this resort because we were traveling with kids and many other resorts are adults only. We enjoyed our stay. The resort is very secure and I felt safe the entire time I was on the property. The staff is exceptionally friendly and willing to help with all your needs. However, many extras like special snacks, condiments, and drinks are only available on request so you have to ask. Never hesitate to ask for something if you don't see it available. The property has an adults-only pool which is nice if you want to get away from the kids. Here are some suggested improvements. The check-in was incredibly slow. I recommend asking for water or a refreshment as soon as you arrive. The check in is also in an open-air environment so dress appropriately as you will be standing outside for quite a bit. My room air conditioner did not work particularly great. The lowest setting was 72 degrees F, and it took quite awhile to reach that. Although the AC in other rooms ran better. Having a bathtub AND a shower was a wonderful luxury on vacation. The resort beach is not the greatest. Erosion has worn it away quite a bit. You can see that they are fighting the changing climate with sandbags below the beach sand but I think it's a losing battle. The photos in their in-room guidebook were obviously taken a long time ago. If you want to stay by the beach you also want a higher number room. The hotel will happily get you a taxi wherever you want to go, so please don't feel stuck at the resort. Travel to any tourist spot on the island was incredibly safe and I never had any security concerns. Lastly, the food. I'm very sorry to say that the food was just par. I had one dessert that was amazing but everything else was reminiscent of cafeteria food. The food at both the restaurants and the buffets were all the same quality. The restaurant food just has a slightly better presentation. If you are a foodie, this isn't the place for you. However, you can get plenty to eat and be fine as long as it isn't your main reason for coming to the resort. I actually lost weight on the trip because the food was just ok and we were exercising a lot doing activities around the island. The staff was very friendly and I would stay again if I were traveling with children. If i were traveling solo or with other adults, I'd probably stay somewhere else. Oh! And the resort was English-friendly. I also recommend picking up pesos for the taxi rides before you leave the resort for any excursions.

Yelp
STAY AWAY - FOOD POISONING We were two adult couples who stayed at Occidental Cozumel in February 2023. All four of us got sick from food poisoning. Two people came down with a mild stomach illness on the last day. My wife had a moderately-bad stomach bug on the second day. I came down with severe diarrhea - twice. Of the eight days we stayed, I had to remain in my room or near a bathroom for four of them, i.e., half my vacation. I also had to cancel my snorkeling excursion because there are no bathrooms on the boat. What could have caused the stomach illnesses? - We never saw any kitchen staff with thermometers - The food that was being grilled for tacos was in ceramic bowls about 1 1/2 feet above the grill, which I doublt was not close enough to maintain the food at a safe temperature - There were deli salads in bowls in a steel depression that was about 2 feet by 6 feet. The depression was supposed to be filled with ice. I saw about 10-15 ice cubes in the whole thing. One of the food items was tuna salad, which certainly had mayonnaise in it... - The guy making the tacos just mixed and rolled the food with his bare hands (no gloves) - When one on the women was in the bathroom that was next door to the kitchen, there was someone coughing so badly in the kitchen that she could hear him through the restroom walls - My second bout of diarrhea was definitely caused by the scrambled eggs at the buffet If you look at the reviews, people have been complaining about food poisoning for a long time. Management has done nothing about it and the problem appears to be getting worse. This is a shame because the staff was excellent and the resort does have some nice features. We have stayed at other Occidental resorts, including one in Mexico. We have never had any stomach problems at all and have never even heard of anyone getting such illnesses at those resorts. Occidental needs to fix this issue immediately or the place needs to be shut down before someone gets seriously hurt.

Yelp
I normally wait until I'm done with a vacation to post a review, however, I am only a few days in as I post this. Well, this place does not deserve five stars or one star. I am unsure how to read it. It did not start off well at all. This is my second stay here in many years and I am severely disappointed. it started off with us trying the elite level, and I am not impressed at all. We stood for 30 minutes with one couple in front of us to check in. The lady was incredibly rude did not even say hello and decided to leave in the middle of our check-in to go to the bathroom without saying a word to us, just got up from the desk and left. She never went over anything about the resorts to help us make dinner reservations and just waved us away. I ended up walking to the front after over an hour, and our bags were still at the curb. We brought them back to our rooms and headed down to the pool. I went to the regular hotel concierge who was incredibly helpful And helped us get our dinner Reservations, tell us where the restaurants were, and pretty much help us get settled in. I was also extremely disappointed to find the resort has lost its beach to erosion back to the ocean. We chose this place due to the pictures of the beach, and it saying they had the great beaches I was also extremely disappointed the pool area does not allow any food. They have waitstaff that bring drinks however, you are only allowed to eat in the restaurants and no food is allowed on the beach or the pool. I find this unacceptable as I don't want to get dressed for an afternoon snack to have to go sit in a restaurant. This is the first time I've experienced this on any kind of vacation, no food service at pool or beach. I'm not sure what to make of the rest of this has so far but the trip has been OK. The resort has been incredibly disappointing. I also want to mention that the way that the hotel rooms are done on the first glance was very cute, however, second glance, everybody entering and walking echoes and so anybody trying to sleep cannot sleep until the whole building has people in their rooms. You hear all the doors opening people laughing all the drunks coming in stumbling in at 1 o'clock in the morning. We chose this hotel as it is described as a dive hotel for divers, which is what we are doing here. Unfortunately that does not seem to be the case as most people around here are more into drinking. So if none of these issues are for you, then the place is great. The food is very good (as long as you are not vegan!!!)and most of the staff here isn't been incredibly friendly. The pool is clean and it is beautiful here. however we will never be coming back to this place as there are just way too many unacceptable things that has happened, and not all of them have I listed here just the bigger ones.

Yelp
Having a perfect destination wedding, is it possible? YES! When you have it at the Occidental Cozumel! Me and the Hubz tied the knot at sunset on the beautiful beach at Occidental this last November. The resort was beyond my expectations of beauty, cleanliness, and accommodating staff in every aspect. The food at the restaurants was exceptional (Go Royal!!!) and the buffet was fine... its a buffet what can you expect... Gorgeous jungle setting with a winding boardwalk opening up to a palm tree lined serene pool overlooking the turquoise Ocean- hello I'm in love! Our wedding coordinator Nadia was on the ball, direct, friendly and accommodating when we finalized our wedding plan once we arrived at the resort. Months prior to planning the wedding, communication was a bit challenging, but I can't blame her for the influx of weddings that had piled up after covid had cooled down for a hot minute and people were traveling again- wedding season was back in full swing and we just had to wait our turn. That being said, everything went smoothly and our micro wedding of 31 guests was a smashing success. Additionally while we were at the resort, we set up excursions around the island and were not disappointed with our adventures. We highly recommend booking a snorkeling trip on the catamaran with the glass floor. We had beers, the best ceviche of my life, attentive guides, and fantastic waters opening up a world of sea turtles, star fish, and rays. Also the ATV jungle ride with a tequila tasting and a jump into the Jade Cenote was thrilling! There were many other features at the resort that provided an exceptional experience. The spa was easy to book and worth every penny- my hair and makeup for the wedding was beautiful and the message was on point. The bars made great drinks and went above and beyond for our wedding party guests- we basically shut down the bars every single night we were there. Being Americans on vacation in a foreign land can probably be obnoxious to most, so we are thankful that the staff not only put up with us but embraced us. I'm looking forward to my 5 year anniversary and coming back to Occidental to celebrate!

Yelp
We were here for a wedding and had to leave the night of the wedding. They wanted us to pay $55 each person (4 of us) to stay on the grounds for 5 hours without a room to go to the wedding. No access to showers or a place to dress. No option for late check out. Just an option to pay despite staying here for several nights before. Couple thought because they paid per person for the wedding that this was covered. Paid for all-inclusive resort stay, to be told we needed to pay again to be on the grounds for a few more hours for the wedding that brought us there. It would have been better if the staff had expressed sympathy or offered alternatives or brainstormed with us. Or even explained their rationale. Instead, it was just The Rule. We'd asked for days about a day rate or late check out and each day got a vague, "we'll see" answer. Later found an open room online that we could have rented for less than their quoted day rate. After a stressful hour back and forth, they got us a room to use for two hours to dress and said it was no charge, but charged the wedding an additional fee. Bad service, inflexible staff with this issue. Drinks are mostly mediocre but plentiful, mango habañero margarita was really good. Food is horrific. Walked to a restaurant next door to get something edible. Wedding food was great, but nothing on the buffet was good. Omelet station at breakfast sustained us. Espresso machine broke, meaning no coffee drinks. Was so excited to be somewhere all inclusive, but found food overall terrible. Teens liked the disco. So, disappointing overall. So pretty. Evening catamaran and day snorkel trips not included but worthwhile. First and likely last all inclusive stay! I expected decent food and good service and got neither.

Yelp
These past 5 days (7/10/2022-7/15/2022) my mother myself and two friends visited the all inclusive Occidental Cozumel. I want to start this review by saying Kelly, the amazing bar server at the beach was above and beyond. She came down to the water and served us our drinks, by memory, we never once had to ask for a refill. However, that was the ONLY positive of our vacation. Day one, we all developed food poisoning. We spent 3/5 days of our "vacation" in our rooms taking turns running to the bathroom. The other two, we didn't want to eat, because we were scared to develop symptoms again. What we did eat, was room service because we did not want to go to the buffet, and they charged us for each individual plate. Not only were we VERY sick, we went to the doctor, and were charged $200 per person, for medications which I'm sure we could have gotten in town but none of us were healthy enough to do so. Every person we came in contact with stated they were ill as well. No one from management asked if we were okay, or if there was anything they could do to help. No one from the staff even acknowledged us after we had been sick. The resort was HOT. The rooms were hot, all the restaurants and even the pools were like bath water. Halfway through our sickness we discovered the Facebook page "Fans of Occidental Cozumel," this appears to be an ongoing problem which began in May. Please, visit this page before booking to see if the problem has resolved. This is the first vacation I have aver been on, where I wished I could have went home early. Occidental Cozumel 0/10 DO NOT RECOMMEND.

Yelp
I came to Cozumel for Spring Break and we decided on the Occidental Grand because this hotel seemed to have the best beach. Once at the hotel, the check in process was a bit slow, but the rooms were beautiful! Our rooms were clean, bed comfortable, nice small balcony, nice TV, walk in glass shower, as well as a clean bathtub. Over the week, the staff was really nice. I give the food overall a 3/5. Some of the food was really good but some wasn't too good. Basic mediocre buffet food that you see at every average hotel in Mexico. The beach was absolutely beautiful, however there needed to be more chairs and umbrellas. People will get up early and put their towels down on chairs then go back to sleep for hours. It makes it really difficult to get a good spot. Then if you do find a spot, there isn't an umbrella. The drinks were good and the bartenders served you fast. Victor the bartender was especially nice and I had a good conversation with him at the bar. He got a good tip! Despite some of the issues I would definitely come back to this hotel. I wouldn't recommend it to someone who is handicapped because there is a lot of walking between the buffets, hotel rooms, pools and beach.

Don't trust the lifeguard here...scams you on wave runners and other activities and pockets the money. Go directly to the source for fun activities

Yelp
I just got home from a week at the Occidental. Before I left, I perused the reviews and have to say, I was very concerned about what to expect. I am literally scratching my head at the disparity between my experience and the negative reviews. Ive travelled to Hawaii, Aruba, Puerta Vallarta and IMO, the Occidental deserves at least a 4 star rating. Our trip was amazing. No illnesses in our group of 6, or in any of the guests we chatted with (many return customers) Note- we did not drink the non-bottled water - but the staff provides PLENTY of bottled water in your room. The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that the beach is pretty slim, no thanks to a hurricane a couple of years ago. However, we spent our days by the pool anyway so that didnt matter to us. Also, we had a less than stellar experience at one of the specialty restaurants. Our refrigerator in our room did not work, but it really wasnt a big deal for us. YMMV. The resort was pristine. The staff were ALL AMAZINGLY FRIENDLY and helpful. The majority of the food was tasty. And the drinks, while not the strongest Ive had, were delicious and plentiful! There were plenty of loungers available around the pool or on the beach. They had activities each day for the kids. Please note - this is a fairly humid climate. Expect that your wet clothes wont dry in your room and things may feel a bit damp. I used the hair dryer to dry things a couple of times and it worked perfect. We saw no mold in our room, and the rooms smelled and looked freshly cleaned each afternoon when we returned from the pool. We worked with Mr. Pool to book our excursions and he was WONDERFUL to work with. We went snorkeling which was an incredible experience and went to Tulum to see Mayan Ruins and visit an underground cave. Fantastic. I would definitely return and would have no reservations about recommending the occidental to friends and family.

Yelp
This resort is a affordable and the landscaping is beautiful. We were with a group of 4 celebrating a birthday. Check in- Check-in took about two hours to navigate. Very slow and not very accommodating. Once we finally got our room assignment we were put in a room under construction. The tv was on the counter, there was no phone, and other furnishings were disassembled. The bed we sat on was wet. We made our way back to the front desk and after an additional hour finally made it to our room. Reservations- Make your reservations for restaurants when you arrive or you will not get in on the restaurants. Keep your receipt because their system is quite complex (I watched them toddle between several spreadsheets to make reservations and there was an error on one of our reservations that took us two hours to resolve on the birthday boys birthday). We tried all three options during our stay: Italian, Mexican and seafood. Italian and Mexican were the best Seafood was a bit disappointing and the one reservation that had the error in navigating. Mexican was the best service and the best tasting food. All inclusive- This is not an all inclusive resort. You can not eat unless it is during the buffet times open. Room service is only from 11pm-5am and it is an additional charge. They stock your fridge with coronas and mich ultra and occasionally a bottle of mediocre red wine or champagne. All bars at pools and in common areas do not open until 10:30. All liquor is bottom shelf at bars unless you request something different. I would not consider this resort all inclusive. They also charged us for a request on a particular wine at dinner that was on their menu but we did not realize it was an additional charge. Comfortability- the resort is beautiful with landscaping etc. However, the rooms would not cool below 25C so everything in the room seemed damp and muggy. The common areas NEED celling fans to help make the spaces more comfortable (no air conditioning) during evening activities and in the restaurants. Everyone in our group developed a tummy illness at some point during our stay. I recommend bringing pepto bismol, antacids etc. Several other guests seemed to struggle with the same. Diving- We went diving on one day during our stay. It was a great dive and the crew were very nice. I would recommend making your reservations with them as soon as you arrive to ensure your slot. They are not very accessible as it was raining the day of our dive and we tried to call to see if we were still on with no luck. All in all- it was a beautiful spot to stay but not all inclusive and not accommodating to ensuring comfortability. Staff seemed over worked and hard to communicate with. Make sure you have cash ahead of time as the ATM does not always work there either.

Yelp
Wish I could give 0 stars. My group and I traveled to this resort in the beginning of July. I find it easier to just post a screenshot of the pros and cons. I would recommend to never come to this resort.

Yelp
Though COVID has required a downscaling on some of the food options, it is still a fantastic location for a beach vacation. The dive shop is, however, really without equal. Their pier launches multiple dive excursions a day, and the reef is literally hundreds of yards away.

Yelp
Quirky but relaxing. Overall this place was quiet, relaxing, and a had very slow paced feel. Different from other all inclusives that we have been to. Nice fir what we wanted this time around, but certainly not for everyone. Food: I have read a lot of reviews about food, and agree that it is average. However, for those who frequent all inclusives, this food was the most comfortable after eating (if you catch my drift). There were 3 specialty restaurants that all guests had access to. Los Olivos was the best- a cheese and salad spread was a nice addition. Calamari, French onion soup and tiramisu were the best options. Sonora- the Mexican restaurant, was nothing special. Standard food, nothing to write home about. We chose not to eat at Coral, the seafood restaurant, as nothing on the menu really appealed to us. Breakfast buffet was great everyday. Omelette/egg station was a go-to each day. The lunch buffet by the beach was, sub par. La Carreta (part of the Royal Club) is the best food option for both lunch and dinner, which was confusing because we often ate there alone. Royal club might be worth it to gain access to this restaurant and free wi-fi. Also, try the soups at every meal! So good! Staff: Thank you to Rogelio, Tomas, Carlos, Roxanna and Nadia for providing us with a wonderful experience. We appreciated their thoughtfulness each and every time- they truly made our experience what it was. Rooms: Rooms were standard. We had leaky a/c vents in both rooms that we stayed in, even when we gitbuograde, but not really a big deal. Beach/pool: Most people seemed to like the main pool area, adult pool often was empty and/or frequented with children. Beach had a lot of space, but they have removed the palapas - and crammed all the beach chairs into one 300 foot section. There is a barren 100 foot section Quirks: No straws! For your drinks. No straws.

Yelp
This was a make up vacation for our vacation that was canceled due to Covid back in 2020. We arrived 7/20/22 and get checked into our room. We meet a couple at the beach who tell us a lot of people have been sick with diarrhea and vomiting. After our first full day my youngest starts throwing up in the room. All night she had diarrhea and vomitin. By morning my other daughter had the same symptom. The resort staff would not allow us to take food from the restaurants with the exception of bread and fruit. and if we want room service we had to pay an extra five dollars per plate. so my kids are sick we're trying to keep them away from others and we're being charged to eat at an all inclusive resort. Friday night I got it. Diarrhe, vomitin, headach, fever, and cramps. Alka-Seltzer Imodium and Pepto-Bismol are absolutely no help We were literally having to argue with the restaurant staff to be able to bring food back to the room for our family members who couldn't leave. Today is our last day before we head home my family is out on an excursion swimming going to restaurants and I'm in the room still sick. I truly love Cozumel but this trip was a complete waste of my time and money. The Occidental Cozumel did little to nothing to help remedy or lessen the severity of the situation. I will not be back and I recommend you read as many reviews as possible in regards to the Occidental Cozumel before booking your trip here. Respectfully, John Mark

Yelp
We booked the royal level based off of reviews and were still disappointed. The only good thing was the pool side servers at the main pool. They worked hard and were great. The rest was mediocre at best and I would not return. Our concierge in the royal level Crystal was horrible and it seamed like a burden to also here to do anything for us. The resort is outdated and the room are loud due to the set up, you hear everything outside including the ice machine at 3am. The food was ok but got old fast. It was impossible to book specialty restaurants even being in the royal level. How can I be at a resort for 7 days and the concierge can't get me a reservation in some of the restaurants anytime during my stay. The royal level restaurant was better then the buffet for breakfast for lunch and breakfast but breakfast would take over an hour and part of the time was it correct. Lunch plan on an 1.5 hours and it definitely will not be right. The resort felt empty at the time we visited which would make me scared to visit during any type of high season. The concierge also kicked omits out of the royal pool for being loud at 4pm even though other guests were in the pool with us. They kicked our group and that group out. They told us a wedding party wanted the pool to there self. Being nice we moved but kept checking back and the wedding party was just a cover for two old guys who wanted it all to themselves. Highly recommend a different resort for the price.

Yelp
The place is beautiful and well kept. But they nickle and dime you to death. For the most part the staff is courteous and helpful, but stay away from their bullshit presentation. They say its not a timeshare. If it looks and smells like bullshit. Its bullshit. Made the mistake of agreeing to sit through the "presentation " that wasnt a timeshare. That they wouldn't divulge the price during the presentation. That finally turned out to be $29,999 u.s. Then their specialty restaurants are always booked. Im guessing if youre not a Royal level memeber. Youre not invited. The food at the at the buffet is horrible. I lost weight during my stay. Its almost inedible. Also the drinks are watered down. Stay at your own risk.

Yelp
Every morning I woke up from my bed and walked to the breakfast buffet, I would tell my boyfriend "I love it here. It's like an oasis!" The resort is amazing. All the staff members there are incredibly polite and friendly. They have all the amenities: buffet meals, sit-down meals (reservations required), gym, spa, adult-only pool, everyone pool, activities for children, wifi (more on this later though), bars, doctor, diving shop, etc. The check-in process was relatively painless. They greeted us with glasses of champagne. To purchase wifi, you do it at the front desk, and they were running a promotion where it was $45 for our whole week's stay. You get a piece of paper with the username and password. Unfortunately, only 1 device can connect on wifi at a time, which was a bit frustrating. To log off, you have to go to IP address. Annoying, but I guess you're in Cozumel at a resort to relax and hopefully take a break from all that social media and work. Every day there's a "Sunset Post" of the hours of events/meals/buildings. It does get a bit confusing when you can get food though. The Beach Club (restaurant by the beach) is only opened from like, 11:00am - 4:30pm. Dinner buffet is served starting at 6:00pm, ending at 9:00pm. Late-night pizza, which you have to sit down to order specially, starts around 9:30. A bit inconvenient at times. To make dinner reservations at their 3 sit-down restaurants, you can only make reservations the day of, between the hours of 8:30am-4:30pm. Apparently the system doesn't allow for advance reservations. They also don't take too many reservations at one time because the restaurants never really seemed to fill up. While dining, it did seem like the restaurant wasn't very busy, but I appreciated the extra attention and that exclusivity feeling. Walking through the resort is an adventure. There are luscious trees, shrubs, bushes lining the walkways. Birds call out and fly around. I've spotted turtles, coatis (raccoon-like mammals with reddish fur and narrow snouts), iguanas, lizards, hummingbirds, and a baby wild pig through the resort. As an animal lover, it was a dream come true. The gardens are all kept very clean and trimmed. If you find a gardener and ask him for a coconut to drink out of, he'll give you one if he can! Our room was very comfortable as well. The AC worked wonderfully and the bed was comfortable. The TV quality was a bit shoddy and there was water leaking from the ceiling in the bathroom at one point, but they came and fixed it in a reasonable amount of time. Despite the little quirks, I really loved this resort. I got teary-eyed when I left because everyone just treated me so well!

Yelp
This place is not what you'd expect it to be. The photos on the website do not match the beach whatsoever. It's very disappointing to say the least. It is so crowded and no sand. ALSO the food gave so many people food poising. There was at least 6 parties we ran into that had experienced the same as us and we're stuck in the room sick. Overall, there are much better places to visit. Save your time and money.

Yelp
The hotel is lovely and the grounds are well maintained. The beach has been washed away and there is barely room for a row of chairs. Therefore, chairs are at a premium, plan to stake a claim for a chair early, they go quickly at both the beach and the pools. The staff is friendly; however, the First Club is not the level of hospitality we have found at other First Clubs. Check in was a mess. Reservations for a la carte restaurants were handled poorly by the First Club and needed to be redone several times. Breakfast at the First Club was available some mornings and not others. Overall, the hotel was beautiful, well maintained and friendly. Also please note that the hotel allows cruise ship day trips. The pool was overrun with these people for several days during our trip. They were drunk as early as noon, loud and rude. Their presence made the pool unusable for several hours during the day. Overall, the beach and the First Club were both disappointments, as was the new addition of cruise ship day trippers.

Yelp
Spent Thanksgiving week here with my son(14) to Scuba dive. Check in was painfully awkward and slow. Make sure to get your restaurant reservations in when you check in. We had an extra day and half to get our bearings which was great and we felt we knew the place and area well after 36 hours. Internet is $45 for 7 nights and works okay, but not great. Drinks are really well made and they use good booze. The lemon aid is made with limes and lemon juice and seltzer or 7-up. Tasted great with vodka too. The monitors, coladas and daiquiris are always good. The wine is horrible so bring your own if youre a red drinker. No swim up bar and only one bar for whole pool/beach, but it was never Food is okay. Buffets never amaze me, but they had a lot to offer. The Mexican reservation only Sonora restaurant was good and the ceviche the best I've ever had. The seafood Marsiscos was good and we couldn't get to Olivios, the Med one. People are nice and the rooms are very well kept. Showers are cold, but hey, it's México. Good place to go. a long wait Scuba diving at a Pro Dive was excellent.

Yelp
minutes ago on  Google Nice location, but service lacks. We had a day pass from a cruise ship. We were only there for a few hours and warned to snorkel. Upon arriving at the dive shack we were told by the young woman that they were on a two hour break. This really cut into our time there but none the less we enjoyed the beach for two hours. Upon reaching the dive shack the same woman told us all the snorkels were now rented out. We were 5 min early! She seemed to take great pleasure in telling us this and in fact her attitude from our first exchange was less than professional. While the beach and grounds were beautiful, I'd look elsewhere for a place with decent customer service! Not recommended. Yelp
I really enjoyed my time here and they were good to us. Like an idiot I made my reservation for the wrong month. Long story short, they were able to accommodate us. But we did have to call Spain to get everything sorted. Considering my visit was deep in the Covid shut down, the experience was pretty good. Not all of the restaurants were open all the time, and the food selection was a little repetitive at the buffets. But I guess since there was a world wide pandemic, I'll have to let that slide. The only reason I give it 4 vs 5 starts, is that it was a long way away from the town. Some will love that, others not so much.

Yelp
I wish I could give this hotel a zero. The front desk staff is awful. Our room would not cool past 25c in October which caused the room to be humid and muggy, which caused everything to be damp. We asked to move rooms and were told that all the rooms were this way. There was mold around the tub, places above the tub on the ceiling was falling down, and the morning we left, there was a leak under the sink that was pooling in the floor. The food was not great, but the bread and rolls were ok. The place was cheap, and we were only there to dive, which the diving was amazing.

Yelp
Just got back from a 7-day trip and really liked this place. The place had a recent renovation and was very up-to-date. We went for five days of diving and the staff at Pro-Dive onsite were stupendously wonderful. Rental gear was great and Nitrox air was included in our dive package (arranged through In2Deep scuba shop in Los Angeles). Coleman, the manager of the dive shop was superb, as was our divemaster, Sandra. Sandra had been a divemaster in Indonesia for 2 years, then in Thailand, and both she and the other divemasters had tons of experience. The boats were small, the boat captains experienced and the crew helpful with on/off and fixing any minor gear problems. The resort is right on the reef -- we had excellent snorkeling with in fact right there. The hotel is best suited for small families and romantic get-aways. The clientele were generally world-wide travelers. Our 3rd floor room was big and quiet. There was a nice lush walkway surrounded by well manicured greenery and flowers from the lobby to our room. Luggage was brought up in a reasonable amount of time. The linens were very nice, with firmer mattresses (which I like) and amazingly soft large pillows (again which I like). The room was well cleaned every day, with large soft towels in the bath. There was a small complimentary mini-bar with sodas and a few beers and tons of fresh water. The grounds were very private and filled with "jungle-like" greenery. It was a good hotel for nature lovers -- Lots of birds -- I saw a Mexican Kingbird, American Redstarts, yellow warblers (couldn't quite identify them), swallows everywhere and plenty of mockingbirds. We spent several nights with the sliding glass door open listening to the birds. We went in the off season, so that a nice rain most nights cooled things down. The downsides that I hope that resort can improve are simple -- wifi should be free -- it was 45 dollars for a week. And like all hotel wifi, it could be made faster. There are only Spanish-speaking TV channels, and while the TV was a big screen, it was not enormous. The biggest complaint that I had personally was that they had only margarine, not butter! Otherwise, I really liked the foot --- lots of choices, mostly Mexican cuisine, but many healthy options of vegetables and salads. But also ice cream, cakes and pudding. I don't drink and drinkers in our group were a bit annoyed with the average brand selection. Lastly, the beach itself was fantastic and romantic. I totally would go back again.

Yelp
For the price it's a decent place. The room was clean and fairly decorated. The check in process and check out were easy and the staff seemed to be very friendly. The drinks were poured pretty light unless you watched them and told them to put more in. The worst part was the food. I wasn't expecting gourmet by any means but everything was so watered down and bland. Basically ate fruit at all meals cause it was the only decent tasting thing. Overall I enjoyed my stay but probably won't do an all inclusive again and will pay for decent food.

Yelp
My husband & I have made 2 trips to the Occidental now (August & December 2018). The prices are very reasonable. All inclusive is key. The breakfast, lunch & dinner buffets are very good. So happy that the pasta bar has been added to dinner nightly. The reservation restaurants are a nice change but nothing to write home about. What made us return? Very simply, REYNA RIOS! Reyna is a server at the pool bar & beach. She took exceptionally good care of my family in August & remembered my husband & I upon our return in December. She remembered our names & our drink orders. Her professionalism & extraordinary customer service are top notch. Please please please ask for Reyna when you visit! You won't be disappointed.

Yelp
We were recently at this wonderful all-inclusive in Cozumel and received a surprise upgrade to the Royal level one day into our stay from Gabrielle. We packed up and were ready in 10 minutes. (This included scuba gear.) She then moved us quickly, efficiently and with great hospitality to our new room. The Royal level is a couple steps up from the regular hotel. Higher level amenities, room service, better shower, private large jacuzzi outside for the guests, white linen restaurant and a private concierge -- Emma. She was amazing. When we come back, and we will, we will choose the Royal level.

Yelp
Worst Hotel. Do not stay here. They are claiming that the hotel is all inclusive and IT IS NOT! You only have access to the Buffet. They will tell you when you can eat at another restaurant. We arrived from Las Vegas in hopes to celebrate our Birthdays and Anniversary. When we arrived they told us that we could try the a La cart restaurants for 2 nights only. That was not listed on the website, and had I known, I never would have booked it. The Buffet was horrible. The food looked like an employee cafeteria. Definitely run from this place!!! We ended up checking out the next day and going to a much better resort. Thank God we left.

Yelp
Went to Occidental in January 2021. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted and then whisked to our check in location in a golf cart. Which loved by the way with all your luggage. Spent a glorious seven days lounging on the beautiful beach, drinking beer, and just enjoying the view. The rooms are very spacious with a nice big bathroom. Not all the restaurants were open which is understandable with the current situation, but what was open was very tasty and I took some pics of the menus and got some photos. Some have a few bites out of them.... sorry bout that... overall a wonderful experience and the staff are all so very accommodating! My only knit pick would be if you love to sleep in, good luck. They start cleaning rooms very early and it sounds like the is a party going on outside your room. Otherwise beautiful place and wonderful time! Also would like to mention that we're very clean conscience during this time. Lots of hand sanitizer and social distancing and masks were required which was very appreciated!

Yelp
The resort was beautiful with a great white sand beach and excellent service. Everyone was so great and took such great of our family. The service at the beach was best of all. Rayna took great care of us and made sure our every need was met. The food was great and the rooms were very nice. We had a great time.

Yelp
The hotel grounds are very nice the staff works hard and our room was clean and well kept. We were there for 8 days and by the third day all 15 of us were sick with diarrhea and vomiting so we had to do our diving on drugs. We have been to cozumel 17 times and never had this problem. There is a food problem at this hotel and they don"t acknowledge it. The reefs are great as always we made 9 terrific dives but will not go to this hotel in the future.

Yelp
I don't write a lot of reviews but this one was noteworthy. We loved the beach. That's where it ends. Our room A/C did not function more than to blow the 83 deg F humid air around. When we contacted the concierge and manager they gave us the run around, offering a couple other rooms that did not have functioning A/Cs either. Upon talking with other guests they were experiencing the same issue. Those who had "working" A/C could only get it to cool to 78 deg F. The two hot sleepless nights were the worst I've ever had while on vacation! It eventually got to the point where the management was not willing to do anything so we cut our trip short and go home rather than suffer through. To top everything off, there were multiple blackouts at the resort for hours at a time. Everyone, including the staff were fed up with the conditions. We were told that the island was experiencing major outages, though staff members confirmed that it was only at the resort. This was by far the worst vacation we've ever been on. Now we are having to fight to get a refund for the days we were not there, let alone trying to get a full refund for the horrible conditions. Do not go to Occidental unless you enjoy sleeping in a humid and musky jungle. We are not the only ones who left the resort early.

Yelp
We stayed here for 7 nights. The only saving grace for this resort is the environment and the beautiful property. It has so much wild life, full of coatis, iguanas, frogs and so much more amazing animals, we even saw a crocodile! You are surrounded by dense flora, so beautiful it really feels like you have good privacy. The rooms are also excellent. Spacious, clean and well stocked and maintained. The staff are also friendly. My biggest complaint is regarding the FOOD, it was the WORST tasting food I have had in my life, and I travel for a living. The only tasty thing was chips and guac and the homeboy at the omelets bar. I was SO disappointed in the variety of food (buffet & restaurants)- all geared toward American culture, hamburgers, fries and everything deep fried (also terrible) - everything else was cold, tasteless, and inedible, and all came frozen. You could not find a decent salad or healthy options in the buffet... this was one trip where I actually lost weight. In a resort you expect more, and because the occidental is not close to downtown or any other restaurants you are stuck there. AND because you're paying so much per night for ALL INCLUSIVE resort, it should be expected the food should be top priority. We spike to several managers of different restaurants and the general manager of the hotel, they only could apologize, not make changes. There were NO shows at night. Their beach was demolished by the hurricane and it smelled terrible (sulfur). They had a small beach with dirty water...Overall a VERY DISAPPOINTING stay, super boring. WILL NOT BE RETURNING unless things change.

Yelp
I will never come back to this resort. First off check in was chaotic and un informative. They did not tell us that in order to dine in any of the restaurants you need to make reservations upon check in. So we were stuck dining at the buffet for every meal. 5 out of 7 of my family members got severe food poisoning. The concierge (salesman) do nothing but try and sell you things. I had to stop making eye contact when walking by the desk, they were very aggressive. The morning of our second day our toilet stopped working, I told 3 different people with no luck at getting anyone out to fix... that same day, our 1st floor room flooded. Not just from rain water but from sewage coming up from the shower drain. The management was extremely unaccomodating during this disaster and I was told my room would be cleaned and I could return. When I returned to the room the bed was made and amenities restocked but the floor was still covered in ankle deep water(sewage water!) I did get a new room but I had to fight to get it. Next... we were required to get covid resting before returning to the states. They packed 40+ people into a small dark room ( no social distancing) and made us wait an hour past the scheduled start time before administering covid tests. By the end of our stay all we could do was laugh. My sister and brother in law stayed one day later than us and the entire resort lost power and water for several hours.... never going back. To top it all off the drinks were weak and mix they used was cheap.

Yelp
Do not stay here unless you want to get robbed! Someone on their staff must have used the all access safe key to remove almost all our cash out of our locked safe (all hotels have an all access key for the safes). It was not broken and was locked. They took the money out of several locations in our stuff in the safe. It was several hundred dollars and they did not take our passports or credit cards so they have to have been hotel staff. It was not fun talking to the police until midnight and no one ever apologized and we changed resorts the next day and they are refusing to refund us. I am contemplating suing just for justice's sake. DO NOT STAY HERE WITH YOUR FAMILY. IT IS NOT SAFE!
