Occidental Praha Five

Overall, we had a pleasant stay.The location is a little out of town, but easily walkable as we did most days. Local amenities are good and bar prices are less than the centre bars. English is widely spoken in Prague and the people generally are friendly. My only issue during our stay was, as previously mentioned, the mattress and soft pillows. In fairness to the hotel manager, she did offer to swap our room, which we declined and provided some firmer pillows.

I stayed at this four star hotel in Prague for one night and overall had a very pleasant experience. The location is excellent, especially if you want to stay slightly outside the city center but still be very well connected. The hotel is located in a lively area with many bars, restaurants and food courts nearby, which gives the neighborhood a cool and relaxed vibe. Getting into downtown Prague is quick and easy by tram or metro. For us, the location was perfect because we attended a concert at the "Meet Factory" nearby. The hotel itself is very modern. The lobby is stylish and well designed, with a bar, snacks available for purchase and a TV where you can watch sports. It feels welcoming and contemporary. The room was also very good. Everything was clean, the bathroom was modern and even had a bathtub, which was nice. There was a safe for valuables and a large TV, both things I appreciate when staying at a hotel. The view was not special, but that was not important for our stay and did not bother me at all. My only real downside was the bed. The mattress and pillows were not very comfortable to me. It felt like a spring or coil mattress and not particularly high quality. That said, I still slept well, so it was not a major issue, just something to note. We did not try the breakfast, so I cannot comment on that. The hotel also offers a spa and a fitness area, which we did not use, but it is definitely a nice extra to have. Overall, the stay was excellent for a short trip. Everything worked smoothly, the location was ideal for our plans and the hotel felt modern and well maintained. I would rate this hotel 4 out of 5 stars, mainly because of the mattress. Otherwise, everything was spot on.

I recently stayed in this hotel with my friends in a family room in November 2025. Pros: The facilities were very clean and the rooms were spacious and clean. Did not have any concerns regarding cleanliness. The bed was a little hard to sleep on but manageable. The breakfast buffet was alright but not the best. Would have much preferred a better selection. ||||Cons: We had dinner included in our deal and it was not made clear prior the dinner does not include drinks or even water. Insane right. We were told we had to pay for water. On one day, one of the staff mistakenly left the drinks machine on and allowed us to take one cup before Turning it off. We were not even able to get water after. We had to either buy water or heat a kettle in our room and wait for this to cool down. ||||Furthermore, the dinner its self is shocking. The food looks worse than school canteen food. On one night ended up having donuts, bread and chicken nuggets for dinner. My advice is to not waste your money on the dinner option as it’s better to starve ur self or eat somewhere else. ||||Furthermore, the water machine in the gym was not replaced with water for 2 days or more. Even the chemicals to clean the gym which was left in the gym was empty. ||||We had several issues with access to our room but this was sorted out each time. However still annoying when ur having to repeatedly come to reception like 3 times a day to get access to your room. ||||Overall the hotel was quite nice however the cons did dampen our stay.

This is low cost hotel because of the following reasons; don't have 7 items of vegetables which is basic at any 4 star hotel, don't have avocado and ginger. Cleaning level is low as you can see in the pictures pity. And any basic thing in the room need to be asked such as refeil shampoo, paper toilet and coffee. The sauna is closed and need to book it which is pity what is the problem to open it from 7 am to 8 pm so guest can enjoy, gym is small no water and no towels available. Light in the room is weak which can be porblmetics for kortoucounse sick pepole like suffer from kortocounse the low cost energy hotel. Hope they will be modified theses issues.

When I made my reservation, it clearly stated “pay at the hotel.” However, one day before my trip, €127 was withdrawn from my account without prior notice. When I contacted the hotel, I was told is because it might be a fake reservation in order to obtain visa. This explanation was surprising, as I live in Greece (within the EU) and implys labeling which is wrong. The experience at the hotel was also disappointing. The receptionist was very rude and unprofessional for a 4-star property. When I asked about smoking, I was told: “No smoking here. If you smoke, pay €175 extra or go stand in the street.” There is no designated smoking area, and the way this was communicated felt disrespectful. For a 4-star hotel, the customer service and communication were far below expectations. If you are a smoker or expect professional and courteous service, you may want to consider other options

I recently stayed at Occidental Praha Five, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The hotel is modern, comfortable, and perfectly located, but what truly sets it apart is the remarkable team behind it. Adela, runs the property with outstanding professionalism and warmth. You can clearly feel her influence in the hotel’s smooth operations and welcoming atmosphere. Every detail seems thoughtfully overseen, and her leadership truly elevates the guest experience. At the front desk, Dasha, was absolutely wonderful. She greeted me with genuine kindness, handled every request efficiently, and always made sure I felt supported during my stay. Her combination of friendliness and professionalism made the check-in and check-out process effortless. In the dining areas, Robert, delivered an excellent experience. The breakfast was delicious and well-presented, and the service team was attentive and efficient. It’s clear that Robert takes great pride in maintaining high standards of quality and hospitality. Overall, I highly recommend Occidental Praha Five. Thanks to Adela, Dasha, Robert, and the entire team, my stay was memorable, comfortable, and truly enjoyable. I will definitely return on my next visit to Prague.

The worst experience I ever had checking in! I asked if the hotel has a designated area for smoking and the lady who was processing our check-in, Shuna I think, informed me that this is a non smoking hotel. I told her that I was not aware of that as is not mentioned on the booking.com description. She showed me that they have mentioned non-smoking rooms. I told her that it is a difference between non-smoking rooms and non-smoking hotel. At this point she informed me that I am disrespectful to other guests. I asked how. Because of smoking, she told me. I told her that I was not planning to smoke in the room or common areas but in a 4 stars hotel is expected to have some kind of designated area for smokers. She showed me the street in front of the hotel telling me that that's the smoking area. I explained to her that is not a proper place for smoking as is just a street, there is no sitting option or anything else, just a normal street, a public place, not at all a proper place to enjoy a cigarette and maybe a drink. She informed me that I don't understand and this is how it is in this country. I told her that I live in EU and I am very familiar with the laws for smoking. I am not planning to break any law I just expect to have a nice honeymoon in Prague with the proper comfort. Once again she informed me that I am disrespectful. In the end I told her that she shouldn't take my smoking so personal and she shouldn't be so condescending. Awful attitude, not even a trace of professionalism. I've been travelling all my life, different countries, different kind of accommodations but I was never been spoken to like this. I had better expectations for a 4* hotel. We lost a day from our vacation because instead of checking in we had to cancel and find another place. In the end was not even about the smoking as much as this person's attitude: I am a guest in a hotel, I expect to be treated with respect not this level of unjustified condescence. We found an amazing place right in the old town, recently renovated (the reception in this Occidental hotel it's a bit run-down, we didn't got to see the room) with very polite hosts and even cheaper than this hotel. Note also that you need to use public transport or Uber because is not that close to anything. My advice? Better stay away!

It was a good stay. Only one thing, it would be great if the luggage room has better system, add a number like a locker and don’t let the guests retrieve it by themselves, it should go through the receptionist. The current system is easily accessible by anyone whose a non guests. Other than that, it was great.

Stayed here for 4 nights. We found the hotel very nice and very clean. The room was comfortable, the beds were large and there was a spacious bathroom, maybe the room was a little too warm. In the room there is a TV with a choice of channels in various languages, wifi is free and unlimited. We had breakfast included, that's continental type: there are croissants, bread, ham, cheese, and hot and cold drinks in quantity. The staff is friendly and helpful. The hotel is located a bit out of the center, but it is in a comfortable position because it has the metro stop (Andel) a few meters away. Also in the immediate vicinity there are a few pubs and a shopping center (Novy) with a Tesco and plenty of shops. ll definitely come back.

This was a great deal for the money. The room was clean and staff was very friendly and helpful. There was parking under the hotel for 25 Euros a night and an outdoor secure parking lot around the corner for 10 Euros a night. The location was good not great, you either had to drive or take public transportation to the city center (about 10min drive). We booked late so we ended up with two twins rather than a double, but they were pushed together so it was essentially the same thing.
