A small place at the old town of Newport but surprisingly serves great seafood. They have lots of selections in their menu. I love the Halibut dinner I ordered for myself. My husband ordered Salmon fish and chips, he likes it. The shrimp and crab dip didn't fare very well with me. Hardly any shrimp or crab in it, mostly cream cheese. Anyway, we'll try this place again when we we're around that area. It's worth another try.

This was the best seafood I've ever had on the East Coast! Although we arrived at 8 PM, just 30 minutes before closing time, we were greeted with open arms. The service was exceptional, and everyone was very friendly! Our food arrived quickly and was incredibly fresh. We ordered the coconut prawns, which were juicy and fresh—truly the best I’ve ever tasted! The coconut crust was crunchy and delicious, and the red curry dip and mango salsa complemented the dish perfectly. The smoked platter was full of flavor, allowing us to mix and match different tastes. The local oysters were impressively clean and fresh; kudos to the shucker for opening them without any bits of shell! The ghost ale was delightful, with a fruity note that I highly recommend. I would absolutely come back here and encourage everyone to check this place out!

The Coconut Encrusted Prawns is hands down so flipping amazing! The Clam Chowder bowl is sooo stinking delicious. M6 husband had the patty sandwich, which he devoured with out sharing 😅 our favorite spot, second time eating here, just as good as 4 yrs ago!

Google
Delicious, fresh seafood with great customer service! Highly recommend the chowder bowl, the chowder was thick and flavorful, best one we’ve had since the East coast! The crab cheese dip is out of this world (our 5 year old son’s favorite part) 🤤 my husband got the blackened Rockfish and really enjoyed it, the sauce and is delicious and unique. The kids for angus sliders and ate almost every bite. Highly recommend for anyone passing through. It was our first time in Newport and we heard from a local that this place was the best, and I’m so happy we took her advice and ate dinner here. Can’t wait to come back next time we’re in town! 🤙🏻 🦀

Staff was fabulous. Food fresh and cooked appropriately. All the food is fresh and homemade. Lovely and rare now a days :) No freezer fish or chopped bag lettuce and they use a grill instead of a microwave. I came just after dinner rush and so got food very quickly and they were prepping for tomorrow- cutting actual lettuce into smaller pieces (no bagged lettuce- more common than you expect lately. 5.23.2025

Google
I was expecting a simple fish & chips joint, but although they do serve fish & chips, our party of 4 had an exceptional fish dinner. Our server was very friendly, smiling gregariously whenever he came by. The Romesco sauce was very tasty on my perfectly grilled Rockfish. My wife’s risotto with her very flavorful Rockfish was amazing. Looking forward to regularly dining here.

Google
One of our favorites in Newport. The sweetest large shrimp, perfectly battered, chips somewhere between chip and mini potato skin, light and tasty. Fried calamari was so tender you could eat it without teeth. The pink sauce is yummy but has a bite. Definitely recommend!

Google
It was my five year olds birthday weekend. First time to Newport Beach with my little family. We enjoyed our visit specially the different foods. This place was good just maybe next time I will ask for extra crispy to get an extra crunch with my fish and chips. Nothing beats a fresh fish and chips and a sip of Pepsi. We will be back when we visit again! 10/10 recommend.

Yelp
Located in the middle of the historic waterfront. Outdoor seating ~ sidewalk tables for two or picnic tables on the side. Pup friendly. As printed on the menu, most but not all seafood is caught locally. The usual fried selection. Portions are smaller with prices a bit higher. The Crew Share might sound like a lot but it is really small in quantity. Local beer. Service eh. A fun stop along the Newport boardwalk.

Yelp
when in newport, you have to have seafood!! this spot was a great homey find. it's very quaint inside, but nicely decorated with a fisherman's touch. the food came out very fast and you could tell that the people really cared about the quality of their food. tried the... shrimp ceviche 10/10 very flavorful and the shrimp were so small!! you can tell they were freshly caught. albacore tuna fish & chips 8/10 nicely battered and not overly fishy tasting calamari 9/10 a classic and the batter was nice & light
google avatar

Yelp
Overpriced grease. Friendly staff. We laughed when the $14 "hand dipped" Sweet Walla Walla Onion Rings arrived, all 17 of them clearly right out of an Ore-Ida frozen box. Almost $1 apiece! My salmon burger was a mushy mess of grease, salt, and cheese. The staff was friendly and attentive. But I will avoid this tourist trap grease pit next time I'm in town.

Yelp
Clam chowder is my all time favorite thing to order here. Some days I order with the sourdough bowl and some days I order the grilled garlic bread to dip in my soup. Dining in is always a great experience but when we camp nearby, we just grab food and take it back to our camper. Our favorite spot when we are in the area hands down!

Yelp
Excellent service. The waiter brought drinks and a menu right away. Appetizers came out quickly, followed by the main course. You feel like you are on the harbor sitting in the restraunt. Pictures of fish on the wall and fishing apparatus hanging. The food was fresh, hot, and tasty. They allow substitution of side dishes. Everything we had was outstanding. Expect to pay a little more because the seafood is fresh and you are on the ocean.

Yelp
The food is so fantastic killer seafood. We have been coming here for couple years now. The best service also.

Yelp
I wasn't kidding when I said I'd be back for more of that delectable crab dip of theirs - this is my third time revisiting Gino's and it's all about their fabulous Dungeness Crab, Shrimp & Cheese dip!! It's basically like a deconstructed crab rangoon and it comes with lovely crostinis to spread it on - pure heaven! This time I also tried their "Crew Share" plate which is a combo of fried treats - 2 pieces each of light, flaky halibut, plump scallops, giant prawns, and oysters - all cooked to perfection and full of flavor! It comes with coleslaw and their unique Gino's fries which are like plump potato chips crossed with steak fries - it was all excellent. They have a casual, beachy vibe with indoor seating and two outdoor seating sections - one right out front to watch the busy street action of adorable Newport and also a cute patio section. Service is always fast and friendly. Prices are comparable for the area - but the quality is definitely superior! The location is wonderful too - in the quaint little downtown area of coastal Newport - with lots of cute shops and candy stores and great views from all the piers. It's almost all street parking with one or two public lots but I've never had issues finding a spot. I'm already daydreaming about more of that dip so I'll definitely be back lol! Highly recommend!

Yelp
Delicious place to get crab and salad! Margarita was nice and strong The service here is amazing I was very pleased with our server and the Chicken caesar salad delish! I don't eat crab but my Fiancé and daughter came here to eat crab since no other place seemed to have it, well they did! I recommend this place and give it 5 stars!

Yelp
Tip based on service not because she needs to get paid as quoted by the wait person tip should be based on service not to cost of food

Yelp
Absolutely delicious meal. Loved the large hyperlocal Yaquina Bay pan-fried oysters (very light breading), unbelievable seafood stew (tomato based), and excellent wine selection. Great service - Thanks Sebastian!

Terri H.

Yelp
Hands-down, the best clam chowder I have ever had. So glad we found this local spot to have lunch. We will be back again thank you so much for such an amazing meal and service.

Yelp
I lived on the coast for multiple years. Many other bayfront restaurants are listed higher than this place but don't be fooled. This is far away the best restaurant on the bayfront and in my mind one of the best seafood restaurants in Oregon . The looks of the place make you want to walk by yet all of the food is amazing. Don't be fooled

Yelp
We had a fabulous seafood meal at Ocean Blue after an 8 hour drive along the Washington and Oregon coast. The blackened fish tacos were delish and large, as was the blackened halibut with cream sauce. Get the garlic toast- clam chowder was full of clams. The service was great and very attentive . Plus is they take dogs on the very cute back patio. Phoebe and Betty give 5 stars also !

Yelp
This place was recommended by a friend that frequents Newport and it was the perfect fried seafood dinner for our family! There is lots of street parking for all the businesses on this strip but they do have a small parking lot you can park in - limited spots but it gives you the view of all the cool buoys and maritime gadgets, along with some outdoor table seatings. Like the outside, the tables and decor inside also goes with the coastal vibe. Open and bright windows and spacious seating even with a high chair for our toddler. Now the food! My friend specifically said to get the calamari appetizer and she was 100% on point with this one! It was lightly coated, same out hot and fresh with a flavorful dipping sauce. Add a little lemon on top and chef's kiss. We also got a cup of their chowder which my husband enjoyed, and we shared the Crew Share plate full of all the friend seafood goodies you would want. (They also have these in grilled options if that's your thing?) It came with pieces of rock fish, giant shrimps and oysters, scallops, and round potato fries. Everything came out quickly and you can tell it was freshly made and fried. Service was fast and friendly as well and all the staff were so nice greeting us in and out. This place is no frills, good vibes and good food. Bonus for being family friendly. This might have to be our new go-to spot when visiting!

Yelp
We had the dip, calamari, and clam chowder. They were all delicious. Yummy and filling. We sat outside and the weather was nice. The service was good.

Yelp
Good food, good mood, and a place for your dog. This part is because Yelp requires 85 characters.
google avatar

Yelp
The food is fresh and has good flavor. Good service, good quality food, ocean feeling environment. Nice seafood place to go! Calamari, fresh, not much flour, which is great, you can really taste the octopus! halibut tasted great! Lots of food, I really liked the fish soft and tender, tasty, the veggies were wonderful, they did a great job cooking the broccoli! rockfish, they did a great job added the mustard sauce on it, great combination. Clam chowder was too thick, feel like be added too much flour.
google avatar

Yelp
I loved the aesthetic of this place! they had buoys hanging and a blue and white fish theme going on. They had seating inside and outside (so dogs are welcome on patio and they provide water for the dog), and they were able to get our party of 5 a table fairly quickly. The location is right on the bayfront, allowing for shopping (lots of cute home shops and touristy attractions) and a view of the ocean. The food was good as well. the only thing, is the portions were small for the fish and chips. They messed up on the beer we ordered, bringing out the correct one and letting us keep the wrongly poured one! Definitely would come back to this place! The server was super outgoing and nice!

Angie M.

Yelp
Ceviche rockfish tacos and tempura-like breading on fish/seafood all excellent. Fresh. Wonderful menu selections for such an I'm assuming exterior. Kind and attentive staff who can answer questions about food allergies etc knowledgeably. Would recommend so much more over the McDonald's of the beach, Mo's. Believe me, you'll find it here.

Yelp
Best Fish and Chips I've ever had. Lightly breaded and not greasy and the fish was fresh and flaky.

Yelp
POOR SERVICE Would gotten a better rating if the service was not so bad. Went in for dinner and got sat right away. It took 10-15 minutes for anyone to offer to bring us water. We were ready to order when they got to our table and ordered the Rock Fish Fish N Chips, Onion Rings, and Crème Brûlée. The food actually came out quickly. The rock fish was very good. Someone who doesn't like fish would still enjoy it. Very mild flavor and if someone didn't know the texture of fish, they might even think it was a chicken tender. The fries were like a combination of fry and chip which was interesting. The onion rings are not worth the price tag. I do not know why they put whip cream on top of crème brûlée but they do. At the least, it shouldn't be from a can. Maybe if they did that it could mask the lackluster taste of the crème brûlée. Service was bad throughout. Our drinks were empty the entire time, dishes never cleared while waiting for the next and never checked on. Instead of helping anyone they just stand behind the counter. Overall, the fish was good and if you try it out, expect bad service.

Yelp
Came in on Tuesday at around 1:30pm, no line, plenty of vacant/available seats. Cold temperature, but if it keeps my crab and seafoods fresh, I'm ok with it We ordered the following: * Whole Dungeoness Crab with sauteed , very tasty and perfectly cooked mixed veggies, very yummy and creamy clam chowder, and wild rice (very good), melted butter has spices in it so it tasted great as dip for crab - $26 * Calamari $14.99 - not much batter, but crispy and tasted fresh which I prefer * Crab cake with pineapple salsa and chipotle aioli $16 - very, very good, best crab cake I've had so far * Oyster shooters $3 - not a fan * Oysters on a half shell $17 for 6 (soooooo good and fresh) - it says extra small Yaquina oysters but it's already a good size. If this is extra small, I would be extremely happy to see a "large" - Sunset (strawberry) Mimosa good, yummy taste but not very strong) $9 - Moby Red Amber ale on tap $7 Food were served fast, about 8 mins after we ordered. We asked the food to be served as it is ready, no sequence/order. Service is great. There are street parking. I highly recommend this restaurant. Not too fancy but the seafood we ate were topnotch. We would be back

Yelp
Ordered the clam chowder bread bowl I shared with my son along with an oyster shooter. The clam chowder was very tasty and flavorful while the oyster shooter had just enough spice to go down. Served was attentive and knowledgeable.

Yelp
Came here for dinner while camping based on the good reviews and wide variety of seafood. We were seated right away and the service was excellent! We got the popcorn shrimp as an appetizer and three drinks all of which were served quickly. The popcorn shrimp were so lightly coated and had a nice sweet flavor, the dipping sauce was excellent. For dinner we had the pesto salmon pasta, the salmon fish and chips and the rockfish tacos. The portions were huge, the seafood was fresh and cooked perfectly and the we all really enjoyed the meal!

Yelp
What a hidden gem!! We are traveling down the Oregon coast looking for not the ordinary. Ocean Bleu delivered! From the fresh and delicious seafood dishes, the local coastal town ambiance and our waitress Liv was lovely making our experience just want we were looking for... We highly recommend Ocean Bleu whether you're passing through Newport or a local
google avatar

Yelp
We eat here every time we are in Newport. They have never failed. Fish and chips are excellent.
google avatar

Rhianna M.

Yelp
Great food and service! Both rockfish dishes were very good and ambiance was quintessential Oregon Coast vibe. We will be back!

Yelp
Place looks well established. We sat outside and told the waiter. Ordered beer and dinner. Beer came 5 minutes after we got our dinner. Pleasant young man but He never came to check on Us after we were served. Prawns dinner average. Not sure what the coleslaw was made of. Good chips. Halibut fish n chips good flavor, flaky fish. Not saying you shouldn't try but We won't return.

Yelp
2nd time we've stopped in for a late lunch. Service was quick & food was fresh. We especially liked that the oil used for the fried food was fresh and their chips/fries were actual potatoes. Service & decor was casual, pay at the counter w/outdoor seating available.
google avatar

Matthew G.

Yelp
Waited 10 minutes for a server to take a drink order. Left and gave my table to a couple looking for an indoor spot; hope they had better luck.

Yelp
As we were traveling up the 101, we needed to find a place that could quickly seat a large group of 8 ( that included 3 under 10 years old). I quickly found this place, saw the great reviews and we decided to turn into Newport. We are so glad I did! There is limited parking so you might expect to walk to get to this place but that was no problem for us. There is plenty to see even on a cloudy and rainy day. When we entered the restaurant, we were greeted very warmly by the person behind the counter. He was very helpful as we ordered food, and recommended his favorite dish (it ended up being the favorite among us). Our kids enjoyed the fish and chips, and the adults had the salmon, rockfish, and coconut prawns. We were all super impressed with the food and really enjoyed the service. The hole experience was wonderful and we plan to return as soon as we can!

Yelp
This is a quaint, busy spot in Bayside that I wish I had found earlier in our vacation. The boys (the waiters) are friendly and attentive, the food is plentiful and tasty. The whole experience was memorable. Jorge was right, it's the best chowder around.
google avatar

Paul N.

Yelp
What a wonderful meal. I had the blackened rock fish and my wife had the pan seared salmon. Both meals were fresh, tasted great and displayed perfectly! What a treat. The place was busy, even though it was Thursday and the ambiance was a step back in time. Service was great! Prices were reasonable too! Check it out!

Yelp
I finally found the time to pen down my review for the yummy Ocean Bleu Seafoods at Gino's in Newport, Oregon. We had the pleasure of dining here back in October 2022, and it left such an impression on us that I just had to share the experience with fellow food lovers! The moment we stepped into the restaurant, we were greeted with a warm, cozy atmosphere and exceptional service. It truly set the stage for the delicious seafood feast that awaited us. My wife absolutely adored the clam chowder, rating it a flawless 10/10. With just the right amount of clams to strike a perfect balance of flavors, it was a like a warm bowl of comfort. She also tried the half order of Dungeness Crab with fries & house slaw entree, which was equally mouthwatering and deserving of another 10/10. As for me, I opted to try two different entrees. The Grilled Cheese Overboard sandwich was a bit underwhelming, with plenty of cheese but lacking in flavor and spices, earning a 5/10. However, the Pulled BBQ Albacore Tuna sandwich was the showstopper, a fantastic substitute for pulled pork for pescatarians like myself. It was so scrumptious that it deserved a 10/10. In summary, Ocean Bleu Seafoods at Gino's offers a delightful dining experience with its charming ambiance, attentive service, and outstanding seafood dishes. We give it a well-deserved 4 stars! If you find yourself in Newport, Oregon, this is a must-try destination for seafood lovers.

Yelp
The chowder was the best! Loved the atmosphere and staff. Wonderful place. I will return on my next trip to the coast.

Yelp
Yum. This little place has been here for years. Now I understand why. Fresh fish, the best coleslaw I've ever had, chips seasoned just right then cooked to perfection in GmO free oil. I had the halibut and chips, halibut grilled. Generous portion done so it was still moist. Reasonably priced. Don't overlook Gino's for the fancier places. You'll psy more and get less quality.
google avatar

Ben D.

Yelp
Was just walking by today and decided to stop here for takeout. They were not as busy as some of the other places but I think that is because it is a little at the edge of the touristy spot. The servers were friendly, the food was fast (15mins), and everything was yummy. We ordered at another local place yesterday and paid much more for lower quality. I would def come back.
google avatar

Taylor R.

Yelp
If I could give them 100 stars, I would. Been coming here for years and always absolutely blown away. From the service, to the food-it's all incredible. Our waitress was so great and on top of it. She was always coming and checking on us. The crab and shrimp dip is delicious. Creamy and so flavorful. The rockfish entree was so good. The fish was cooked perfectly and seasoned great. The roasted potatoes were so good too. The salmon pesto entree was amazing. Some of the best salmon I've ever had. Their calamari is perfectly breaded-not too much breading so you can actually taste the squid itself. The clam chowder is thick, creamy, and so comforting. I've told many people about Gina's. They've all been impressed as I have every single time I go!

Yelp
Nice little spot on Newports historic bay front. Fast and friendly service! My razor clams were delicious.

Yelp
Family came for dinner after alot of driving around and it was Terrific! Fresh ingredients, great atmosphere and decor, and a delightful waiter named Jorge who attended to our every need.

Yelp
Stopped in for lunch around noon on a Wednesday. Not very busy, but because it was sunny, we decided to sit outside and eat. They have quite a few outside tables along the restaurant front. After reviewing the menu we decided to share the Crew Share platter and try a cup of their famous clam chowder. It came with 2 pieces each of halibut, shrimp, scallops and oysters. We opted for the fish to be grilled instead of fried. Boy were we glad we did! The shrimp and scallops were absolutely delicious...cooked and seasoned to perfection. The halibut was overcooked and dry...pretty disappointing since the other fish was so good. The oysters were ok; they were breaded and kind of bland. The clam chowder was sooooo yummy...plenty of clams and a nice thick consistency, just the way we like it! The service here was a bit odd and awkward. Our server didn't come up to our table and greet us or introduce himself at all. He just stood in front of our table on his phone. He finally said he was having a hard time figuring out their new ordering system on his phone. Still no greeting or introduction, just took our order and left. Oh and they charged us $.10 for an ice water with a lemon slice. Why bother? This place isn't cheap, you'd think they wouldn't charge customers for a lemon slice. Very odd. Overall food was good but service is lacking in the welcoming and friendly department. Would probably come back for takeout.

Yelp
Unlike some restaurants which on your first time are really good and then disappoint everyone on the second visit like some restaurants on the coast have done this VK season, Ocean Bleu is a shining star. Don't know if it's a family owned/run business, but you are immediately treated with warmth, respect, and appreciation for coming in. This was the way it was on the last 2 visits, which were a year apart. Although it looks a hole-in-the wall-ish, as opposed to the attempted upscale or more modern decors, it is very clean and has an unpretentious atmospheric. This makes one immediately comfortable. The menu items are enticing with all of your normally desired selections. But they excel in taste & proportion size. My group on two different occasions singled out the fish stew, the fish and chips, and the clam chowder. The berry cobbler is enough for you to auction off your firstborn. It's served hot with a large amount of ice cream. Truly these things are incredible. Even the salads were amazing. I would also highly recommend the Bloody Caesar with a loaded garnish which is routine. The waitstaff who were young, worked very diligently to provide excellent service. This has not been my culinary experience with many restaurants along the coast who've struggled with staffing shortages including here in Newport. Can't determine if the reason is a feeling of entitlement or if it's a lack of training, concern for job appreciation, or just having a really bad day. Maybe the assessed 20% tipping structure defeats any desire to provide quality of food or staffing. This restaurant absolutely is a must for me and those whom I bring. It stands out as few do over the long haul. It was the best food, service, and experience we've enjoyed here in Newport. It just continues to make me proud to know this kind of business still exists.

Yelp
Love it! Been here so many times in my life and it never disappoints. Small changes have occurred over the years, but the new owners have worked hard to keep standards high and grow from there. Popcorn shrimp are a family fav, but I still branch out a little every time to great pleasure. Next time you're down enjoying waterfront, plan on a bite here!

Yelp
I had the clam chowder bowl and it was very good! There were large pieces of clams in it and the bread bowl was amazing. The environment was fun and the service was great!

Traci S.

Yelp
Had low expectations due to the atmosphere and building but this was the best seafood I've had in Newport! Razor Clams were tender and not too greasy. Veggies seasoned to perfection. Husband enjoyed his rockfish sandwich. The oyster shooters were awesome and so fresh

Yelp
OMG. This place is fabulous and is a must try. We stumbled upon this place after going to the aquarium and wanting good seafood. The reviews helped make the decision to try them. And boy are we glad. After subpar places in Lincoln City we were ready to give up but alas the seafood gem was found in Newport. The waiter was so helpful and kind. Now to the nitty gritty. We started with the Crab, shrimp and cheese dip. So rich and flavourful and served with perfect toasted bread. My mom had the Crab Cake meal and thoroughly enjoyed it. She loved the Chipotle aioli and the grilled vegetables with it. I had the Crew Share. It was so devine. The halibut was so moist and flaky. The shrimp and scallops were perfect and not over done. The oysters had a different batter that was a little thicker and crunchy. It came with very special fries and slaw. Slaw had an Asian zing. I loved as I hate mayo slaw. The fries shaved like potato skins. Had the perfect crisp. Seriously the best fries ever. I can't say enough about this place other than YOU MUST TRY THIS PLACE!

Yelp
Local fishing boats on the Oregon coast using sustainable practices, including hook & line, catch the freshest fish and seafood for this awesome eatery on the main street in Yaquina Bay. It is a very comfy and quaint diner with an outdoor patio and lots of hanging ornaments and hundreds and hundreds of bouy's. Sets the mood - feels like I am on the ocean. Wait until you taste the catch - you'll think it was just hooked, pan seared and landed on your plate. Get ready for finger-lickin, lip smackin, delish seafood! We tried a very hearty and scrumptious tomato based fish stew loaded up with rockfish, steamer clams, pink shrimp, mussels, veggies and poblano chiles - served with garlic toast. The crusted mouthwatering large wild prawns with a sweet coconut curry dip was dip by dip, crunchy outside and tender inside - so good! Pink shrimp cocktail was terrific. Ocean Bleu has ben in business since 1983. Local owned. Service is spot on!

Yelp
To go fish and chips were pitiful. They were very small portions, three or four nubbins of fish which were a bit overcooked, and actually even not very many fries all in a white styrofoam box which took too long to get. Fish peddlers was closed so we had to go here with friends. I do not recommend, they used to do a better job.

Anthony C.

Yelp
This is the place to go for seafood. Best oyster stew in the world. Very good selection to choose from on the menu. Our new favorite in Newport.
