We typically visit a nearby resort in November, but this time opted for Ocean Club West in July based on a recommendation. We stayed in a Junior Studio with a view of the grounds. The room was clean, quiet, and spacious enough for two, with a king bed and a convenient washer/dryer (soap included). While the property has charm, it’s not upscale—towels were standard hotel quality, and the kitchen setup felt awkward, with a 2-burner cooktop placed near the entrance. The screened-in lanai with a ceiling fan was a nice touch, providing a bug-free spot to relax or hang clothes to dry.||The fitness center was well-equipped and in good condition. Although massages are available on-site through a third party, our experience was mixed. While a kayak and stand-up paddleboard are available, you will need to bring floaties. The towel desk did have an air compressor. The pool area is lush and well-maintained, although the nearby plants can occasionally lead to a fair amount of debris in the water. The pool itself is large with varying depths and a laid-back, almost lazy river feel. A shaded pavilion with three grills and a sink is available for guests, perfect for those who want to cook their own meals.||We only visited the on-site restaurant for drinks and wouldn’t return for that. They also do not offer diet-friendly menus, so if you do not want to cook in your suite, allow time to go off-property for meals. However, we appreciated the small extras, such as the complimentary use of well-maintained bicycles. Overall, Ocean Club West offers a relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere with solid amenities, though it lacks the polish of more upscale resorts.
