Ocean Crest Spa

The front desk manager was very RUDE when I asked about what our treatment included. She said she was the manager so she knew what services she offered. Their online menu was very misleading as it says all treatments from the couple section include a dessert and Champaign but the manager was stuck on denying this. She then asked us to tip and made a very condescending comment about how it’s at minimum a certain percentage and then rolled her eyes after we tipped a certain amount… the spa itself is also very small with only 2 showers for entire ladies section. When we called to book they said they had a sauna and steam room but they only have a steam room. (Carol was a great masseuse though! )

Absolutely wonderful experience here this week! For our anniversary, my husband and I did a couples massage. This was all set up by the lovely French Amile, and we appreciated her accommodating our schedule and hosting us at the spa. The spa itself is very clean, be sure to make time for the eucalyptus steam room as well as the sunny patio and relaxation room. Christina did my massage, and she was just wonderful. There were some unique things that she included during our 80 minute massage, and I was in heaven. She also brought us glasses of champagne when we were finished, amazing! Very highly recommend you visit while at the hotel or in the area.

Amazing spa experience! Received a warm greeting upon arrival. Amenities were very nice and clean. Enjoyed the outdoor relaxation area. I would highly recommend Robert for massage & Christina for facial. They were both excellent & very professional! We will definitely be coming back!

Had a lovely spa experience at Ocean Crest on New Year’s Eve. My husband and I had a couples massage and both really enjoyed the massages received. My therapist was Robert and my husband’s was Jessica. Both therapists were attentive and listened to our concern areas and were very welcoming. We don’t drink so they offered us juice and tea when offered the champagne which was very thoughtful. My massage was well balanced and somewhat of a sports massage I work at a long hours desk job and my forearms are always very very tight he did a great job easing that out without being painful. The neck and shoulder focus was just right and plenty of time was given to legs and arms. The hand massages was very relaxing and while the foot massages was more of an acupressure situation than a rub I enjoyed the tension release gained and consider it a style of the therapist as no two massages are ever the same. I would get a massage here again and request the same therapists. My husband said Jessica really focused on tight areas in his shoulders and says it’s easily in the top 1 or 2 massages he’s had. We were at a high-end spa in San Pellegrino Termé, Italy, in October and the massages were great but this rivaled that and are pleasantly surprised. The steam room is small but plenty for the facility size we enjoyed it both before and after the massages. The amenities are a nice but simple; i.e. shower supplies in the showers and blow dryers available for the ladies, we were staying in the hotel attached so we did not use them entirely, just a quick rinse post steam room. There were a number of ladies taking advantage of the offerings and one in particular, a local, told me she frequents this spa for facials so perhaps we will try that next time! The relaxation room is a tad lacking. The tea offerings are lovely and there was some fruit but it was whole pieces so that doesn’t really lend to eating in a robe or quickly while waiting to go in for an appointment. If you’d like a small snack I’d just do the flatbread at the hotel restaurant before or after instead. Overall a nice experience.

Absolutely wonderful day spa nestled inside the beautiful Cape Rey hotel. Wonderful staff that make everyone feel so special and incredible services. I have had facials and just had a massage there and wonderful services overall. I can’t wait to go again.

Amazing customer service for Ocean Crest Spa in Cape Rey Carlsbad! It was last minute booking reservations. We were five in the group who need an 80-minute spa massage all at the same time. Thanks to Janet for making it happened! The place is so clean, so zen! We all felt so relaxed and rejuvenated. It's not even that pricey as compared to other spa place close by. I will surely come back in this place!!!!

LOVED this spot! My bff and I had a spa day (which, I think is going to be pretty traditional at this point). The lady in the front was absolutely lovely and so accommodating. The space was clean and well maintained. The site itself was very relaxing and soothing. The therapists were kind and really listened to our concerns.

I recently had a birthday pampering day at OCS and I loved it! The massage was exactly what I needed it, a mix of a relaxation and some deep tissue followed by a facial. Christine is an experienced esthetician and masseuse. She is amazing! Since, I celebrated my birthday, they welcomed me with a glass of champagne . I recommend this Spa!

This is going to be a bit of a mixed review. My husband and I stayed at the hotel for a little honeymoon staycation the week after our wedding. We booked a couple massage. My husband had a lovely massage with a very nice therapist who communicated well with him, asked questions to ensure he was happy, and was overall very nice and great at her job. Unfortunately I had a very different experience. I am not sure of my massage therapists name, because she actually never even introduced herself. She just pointed to the bed and left. When she began massaging me she did ask if the temperature of the bed was okay, which I confirmed. When she began to massage she had an extremely light touch that was off putting and almost uncomfortable in a ticklish way. She did not initially ask me how I would prefer the pressure or anything, so I just asked if she could increase the pressure. She said yes, but then continued on the same. It was more like a light rub, that again, was uncomfortable and actually ticklish. She used hot stones at times which was nice but anytime she used her hands there was little to no pressure, more just light tickling with her finger tips. So I asked again to adjust the pressure. After the 3rd time, I realized it was not going to change. I was pretty uncomfortable throughout the massage and considered ending it halfway through, but felt bad to disturb my husbands experience, and also just did not want to be rude. Really sad to pay what we did for this experience. I hesitate to even say it was the worst massage of my life, because I don't think I have ever even had a bad one- I literally did not know that was possible. I honestly wonder if this woman was even a licensed therapist because she seemed so unsure of what she was doing.

The local discount they give the week is a nice option if you can go during the week. The pool you have access to is the main pool so if it is crowded it is difficult to find a chair. The hotel hosts a lot of travel ball, soccer tournaments so it can be very loud. As far as amenities, there is not much. There is a sauna, and 2 relaxation spaces. The services are a decent price but if you want to relax by the pool/spa be mindful what else might be going on.

I received a spa gift card and redeemed it at Ocean Crest Spa, located within the Cape Rey Carlsbad Beach Resort. I scheduled my appointment for a much-needed deep tissue massage. The resort and the spa is beautiful! The staff is very friendly and professional. They provided me with a large, fluffy robe and sandals, and locker room to change and store my personal items. Robert was my massage therapist. I like that he was a runner like me so he understood the aches and pains associated with running and training. He was very professional, friendly, and really dug into my sore back. I felt amazing afterwards! I used the shower after my massage and it was glorious!! A perfect end to a self-care day!

I had an aromatherapy massage with Meliza on Saturday and it was wonderful! She listened to what areas I wanted to focus on and used strong pressure to get all my knots out. The spa is beautiful and peaceful. They validate self parking, and allow you to use the pool and hot tub the day of your service. I had some difficulty getting ahold of the front desk as we kept playing phone tag and I never actually got through to someone the 3 or 4 times I called back, but they always called me back within a few hours. Overall a great experience with a clean spa area to relax in

Beautiful spa. Had a wonderful therapeutic massage and spent the day enjoying the eucalyptus steam room and quiet patio area with my book and some tea. They also give discounts for staying at the hotel. Highly recommend services here and can't wait to come again on my next visit!

My 5-star rating is definitely for my massage with Wendy, as well as the staff at this spa. I was staying at the hotel so it made sense to book here and I was not disappointed in the service. Wendy was a pleasure to chat with and my time just flew by. The staff at the front desk were extremely courteous. The things that were a bit of a disappointment to me were the facilities - the spa itself is understated, clean, and comfortable. However, with only a steam room and two sitting areas, there wasn't much to offer guests. I know the hotel pool and hot tub were available to use, but as a guest already staying there, I watched kids (spring break!) going in and out of the hot tub all day and I wouldn't consider it very relaxing to sit in that. That said, the services were reasonably priced and definitely felt indulgent.

We had a wonderful experience at the spa. I was looking for something a hotel so it had a lot of amenities, but a little more low key than some of the other places in the area. Everything was great. We got a package that included lunch and two spa treatments. The receptionist was friendly. The massage and facial were both excellent. When the young man who did my facial learned it was our birthdays he brought us each a glass of champagne. The lunch voucher was more than we could spend. We brought home boxes. It was delicious and lovely just to be there. I'd gotten some spa finder gift vouchers from Costco and I had no trouble using them there. I've read some spa will only allow one or two but it was not an issue here. I was worried because they were sold as $100 but the are given as 2 $50 vouchers. And parking is free! Highly recommend.

Had the pleasure of having a facial with Christine and a massage with Sara and both were very amazing experiences. The spa also has a lovely receptionist named Sylvie and offers a steam room and shower after your treatment(s). You can also lounge outside and free parking is included. Will be returning again and again and I recommend this place highly.

In July I received the Ocean Bliss package, which consists of a 50 Min Swedish massage and a 50 min Sea Of Life Soothing Facial and a lunch voucher to their poolside cafe. When checking in I was prompted to fill out a paper and was able to sit in the waiting area and browse their retail. I was then given a detailed tour of the spa which included a women's locker area, stocked showers and private bathrooms, getting ready vanity spaces, a steam room along with indoor and outdoor lounge areas. The fitness center was located just opposite of the spa front door and the pool was a just a short walk down the hall. The pool cafe unfortunately opened an hour late but i was still able to get a great Gem Lettuce Caesar and Peach pie! The pool was over looking the waves and also had a hot tub. Before my treatments I was able to utilize the steam room and there were complimentary chilled towels available. My massage was done by Kimberly who was very sweet and had gentle pressure. She really worked out some tension from lot of air travel. My facial was done by Michael, who seemed a in a bit of a rush when picking me up for treatment. Overall the facial was calming and he wrote down some product recommendations. In all I left the spa glowing and feeling relaxed and spend just about $375 for my treatments, lunch and gratuity for all those who helped me.

I was lucky to get a "Desert Bloom scrub& massage appointment for my friend and I two weeks out. I was helped Jeanette who was so sweet. My friend and I got to our appointment which was on the first floor or the hotel right of the elevator. We were greeted by Jeanette and Sylvia who are both so welcoming and soft spoken. Jeanette gave us a tour and instructions on how to get to through the relaxation area. We got to the waiting area and one by one we were called promptly. I had the pleasure of having Jessica as my therapist and she made sure I was comfortable and checked on me if the pressure is okay.I mistakenly thought I was done after rinsing off my scrubs but Jessica took me back to the room and nicely informed me I'm not yet done( my friend also did the same. I would like to thank Jeanette and Sylvia for being so gracious to us especially since I had forgotten my necklace in my robe pocket and I was able to get it back. Thank you for such kind service, Jeanette !

I can not be more grateful to Silvie and Janel the spa manager for helping me out in such a jam. They were so gracious, warm, and amazing for trouble shooting a tight situation with a cancellation and made every accommodation to keep our three massage appointments and all my needs were met INCLUDING being there to tend to my 5 month old grandchild! ....well above the line of duty.!!!! My daughter-in-law and son were swept off to their massage appointments while These two lovely and professional women took care of every minute detail and we were made to feel very special. I would recommend this spa because it has a great atmosphere and relaxing restorative vibe thanx to two very sweet French women who really understand service and luxury spa treatment !!!

I had stayed at Cape Rey Resort back in Oct 2023 while attending a conference. So when I planned a staff retreat decided to return. 13 of us had spa treatments including facials, hot stone, deep tissue, and body scrub and massages. Every one of us were extremely satisfied. Jeannette the Spa Director and Sylvie were so incredibly helpful in arranging treatments for our group. Personally I want to give a HUGE shout out to Antonio for giving me one of the best messages I've ever had (and I've been getting body work for more than 30 years). He applied the perfect amount of pressure and worked my muscles and lower back so when I was done I felt as if I was levitating off the table. I only wished I lived closer so I could visit Ocean Crest Spa more often. If you're trying to decide on a place to stay in Carlsbad with a spa I highly recommend Ocean Crest.

Christina's facial are next level. Hands down the best facial I've ever received. Christina incorporates years of industry knowledge, adds in a neck massage, and teaches you how to focus on your breathing during your treatment. Seriously an amazing experience and I promise you-- you will leave glowing and feeling renewed and excited to return,

Just had the most amazing massage! I was looking for a place that is similar to Burke Williams, where they don't charge $300 for a basic massage and a place that was clean, this is definitely it! Their prices are reasonable compared to higher end spas and their massages are the same or better. I just wish they had more amenities, but if you're looking for a simple massage in a clean relaxing place with easy parking and super nice employees this is it.

Let me just start with the cleanliness of this place, I could eat off the floor is was so pristine. The massage it's self was relaxing as well. Over al this entire place from the minute you walk in and are welcomed to the second you leave, all so relaxing and immediately feel stress free. Cora was my massage therapist and was sweet and kind. The aroma therapy massage I got put me to sleep. Definitely have been a little stressed and she is just what the doctor ordered. Thank you guys for having me

A nearby local, I've been here twice for massages and been more than happy with both. Half the price of the local pricey resort spas, but same quality service, and all of my aches and pains gone!

I have chronic neck pain and as most everyone else these days extra stress seems to find the weak spots... I went for a 1 hour massage and was delighted to have Dana as my therapist. It was hands down one of the best massages I've ever had. I travel the country with a 102-year-old world war II veteran. The role of caretaker definitely takes a toll on your body and I left the spa just like this song from The '80s says~walking on sunshine

So lovely the receptionist is such a welcoming lovely lady, the treatment was astonishing left me plumped and renewed felt so pure walking out.

Went to Ocean Crest Spa for a staycation with my sister-in-law this weekend and was impressed. The service and the amenities were great. We got the $165 package with a 50 minute massage, all day access, free valet and $40 towards their restaurant on site. I would visit again for the massage alone as it was one of the best I have had in San Diego. However, I had to take 1 star away for the awkward sound during the second half on my massage. It sounded as if I was next to the wash room with an uneven dryer. I tried to ignore it but it was impossible. The pool is nice...heated, jacuzzi was warm but the view is what sold us. We will be coming back.

Highly recommend Ocean Crest Spa! Was my first time and was great. They have a steam room which was amazing and showers. There is a small outdoor area for when the weather is permitting. The massage was nice and relaxing! Ready to go back!

I tagged along on my husband's business trip and we stayed in the Cape Rey Hilton Resort and I was so happy to see that a spa was located right inside the hotel. What a wonderful place to relax!! The minute you walk into the spa, they are so nice, attentive, and helpful. I booked a facial that day and checked into the spa an hour early to enjoy the steam room, relaxation room, and patio. The changing rooms are nice and you are provided with a nice robe and slippers to use during your stay. You are given a locker for all your belongings and set your own code to lock and unlock it. The steam room is fantastic. Very large and they spray the walls with aromatherapy fragrances that give it a true spa feel. You can also purchase them at the front for your own home shower experience! After using the steam room, you can shower before your treatments. The showers are equipped with shampoo, conditioner, and body soap. After showering, you move to a small quiet room to relax, drink some water and eat some fruit provided for you. I decided to sit on the patio and listen to the waterfall feature they have outside. When it was time for my facial, she came and got me and did a wonderful job. My skin felt so soft and she was informative about all the products she used on my face. **Tip** You can pay $25.00 just to use the facility and not have to have a service done!

We kicked off our honeymoon by staying at the Cape Rey (gorgeous and amazing customer service). To decompress from all the wedding activities, we treated ourselves to a spa day at the Ocean Crest Spa. Our masseuses, Valentine & Amy, were so well trained in deep tissue and made us feel so relaxed! And their outdoor lounge area is beautiful!Would definitely recommend!

Great service and upscale amenities. Send my girlfriend here for her birthday and she thoroughly enjoyed it! Definitely recommend but make sure to book ahead.

This is a great spot in north county! There are plenty of places to get a massage in this area, but Ocean Crest stands out because of the spa experience you get and the access to the hotel pool and jacuzzi. Most spas in north county are more salon style and feel like you're in and out just for your appointment and do not have a jacuzzi. This is a place where you can spend a couple of hours relaxing before or after your treatment. That being said, if you want to enjoy the hotel pool, jacuzzi, or restaurant, those areas are open to all guests so it may not be the most serene of settings. Shout out to the spa staff! Everyone was extremely welcoming and accommodating.

80 minute massage today was as good as it gets. Thank you Dana for addressing my preferences and starting my day as calm and relaxed as humanly possible. I'll be back.

I had a nice long treatment with Cora and loved every minute of it! She's very intuitive and incorporates a few different techniques. I felt so rejuvenated by the end of the session.

This is a lovely spa. Jeanette is so sweet and kind and helpful. And Robert is one of the best massage therapists ever. I had my second massage from him today, and like the first, it was fantastic. Can't wait to go back. Thank you!

We had a couples massage in celebration of Nellie's birthday and it was great. The spa is clean and the desk person was helpful and attentive. we both had the 80 min Swedish massage. Cora was my masseuse and Julie was with Nellie. Cora was wonderful. she has strong hands and knows exactly what she is doing. I swear i think i fell asleep twice during the treatment. Nellie told me after that is was one of the better massages she has had. after our treatments we had lunch at Chandlers. the food is pricey, but is was good. we started with sharing a crab and shrimp Louie salad. fresh crab claws and large shrimp. we then had entrees of the crab and lobster tacos and i had the albacore BLT. both were enough to feed the entire family. we had to take some home. our server Eric, was great. he was efficient and helpful. very attentive but not hovering over us. I mentioned it was Nellie's birthday and he brought us a nice piece of cake. now not a small piece you usually get from other restaurants, but a large piece. again, more than we could eat. Eric told me he would keep our food in the kitchen cooler while we were at the pool. that worked out well. another great deal is that with a spa treatment you still have use of the pool. so after lunch we decided to lay out in the sun and take a nap. I highly recommend ocean crest spa and the Chandlers restaurant. Both Cora and Julie were wonderful and i suggest you ask for Cora. we will be back.

V is for Valentin and VERY good! I had a 90 min body treatment with Valentin last week and it was wonderful! I was staying at the hotel and in desperate need of some relaxing "me" time. Valentin was just the ticket! The spa is very clean, quiet, lots of relaxing spaces both indoors and out, to use before and after your treatment plus hair and body products to use in the shower if you choose. Prices are what I expected for a nice spa in California.

I had my first ever massage and facial at this location! To be completely honest, if I did not have the 2nd massage booked already, I probably would have never came back or had a massage again. The first massage I had wasn't too comfortable and it sort of felt rushed. I left thinking that was how it was supposed to feel and that maybe it just wasn't my thing. I was sort of disappointed. My 2nd experience was a million times better. The massage was from a different lady and it was a million times better! I felt like I was on cloud 9. My back injuries seemed to subside and melt away, at least for the time being. I had wished I had booked a 2 hour massage! The facial was awesome and my face felt so softest it had ever been! She recommended jojoba oil as a moisturizer for my face (I have dry and sensitive skin that is prone to breakouts) and I followed this. It has been the answer to my years long search to find the right moisturizer! The steam room was great and very relaxing. I will definitely come back the next time I stay here!

I've been to many top spas in the world including La Costa, Red Door, Caesar's Palace, and more. This one is pure luxury. Wonderful facilities, luxurious bathrobes, excellent facial products and scrubs, and the technicians are very well trained. The facial I got was outstanding. The Coconut and Vanilla scrub left my skin smooth and silky for days. The massage that accompanies the scrub was heavenly. I can't say enough good things about this rare jewel of a find. The prices are much less than you'd find at comparable high end places. I'm going back every month!

Gorgeous place, the steam room before is amazing and you can hang by the pool after. The only thing that wasn't great was the massage therapist talked the entire time throughout the massage. Not relaxing having to make small talk for an hour

Locker room and massage rooms are very nice, but the lobby/waiting room is a bit blah. Would be great if they had a private pool area for the spa connected to the lounge area, but at least they give you access to the hotel pool area even if you're not a hotel guest. In the end though, it's all about the service you get and my massage was great, I highly recommend Joy!

I had a wonderful, relaxing lomi lomi massage from Charlene. She took time to explain the whole process and made my neck and shoulders feel great! The bonus for me was the warm towels she used to clean my back and feet. There was even a warm rolled up towel for the back of my neck. The whole spa is wonderful, I enjoyed time in the steam room before and after my massage. Park in the garage and they will validate your ticket.

I bought a Travelzoo to this spa and really enjoyed myself. the facilities are beautiful and well-kept. There is a lovely pool overlooking the Pacific Ocean as well as a relaxation and steam room. The robes are very fluffy and comfortable and there are an assortment of teas and fruits to be enjoyed. The massage itself was on a heated table (yes, I always enjoy this!) and the therapist I had used several bamboo tools to help alleviate tension. My only suggestion to those trying this place out is not to hesitate on requesting how much pressure you like in your massage. I hope you enjoy it like i did :)

This is a great hotel. We had a great ocean view. A real ocean view. But the spa at this hotel is great. I had probably the best massage I have ever had yesterday. I have had quite a few massages and this was definitely one of th best ever. I had masseuse Christine. She gave me a scrub and massage, that was fantastic. I would go back everyday if I could. Run don't walk to this hotel to get a massage and ask for Christine!

Had a great experience. The staff was very patient as we talked about be the options. Did a custom hybrid message for me. We will definitely return. Erin did an amazing job with my wife. Really helped her and gave her some tips to help some of the stiffness be and pain she had.

Took my wife and myself for a special treat. This spa is just amazing. My wife had a facial and I had a therapeutic massage. we both thought it was the best we have ever had. The spa is beautiful, and very intimate, you really feel like you matter and the staff is there to make your experience exceptional. They delivered. I have already been back, my wife will join me again in a week. We are hooked

I have been to the Ocean Crest Spa several times now and have always loved my experience. I have had several massages (Aromatherapy, traditional Swedish & Lomi Lomi) as well as the Mini Facial. The Lomi Lomi massage and Mini Facial have been my favorite - such a treat! Michelle & Tabatha are incredible massage therapists. Using the pool & spa facilities there makes this a true spa day experience and being right next to the ocean you can't beat this place!

This place has nailed the art of maintaining a spa. Tried the spa and everything was perfect all the way from the sauna to the massage. Amy as a provider was great. The massage was great and left me feeling very relaxed. Keep up the good work guys

Im a big fan of this spa. I have had four or five treatments there and I just keep coming back as a Carlsbad local this is one of my favorite spots.
