Ocean Grill & Tiki Bar

Delicious food with views & vibes! The outside tables had gorgeous dunes views, and the tiki bar overlooks the beach. I loved my meal - blackened fish tacos with a pina colada. Yum. The perfect beach lunch!

This was about a 10 minute walk from our Carolina Beach condo rental at Sands V. Very easy to get to if you're staying anywhere on the oceanfront. We had a full moon the night we ate here so the atmosphere was perfect. I didn't care for my lemonade or mahi sandwich, but my wife's fish tacos were great. And the fries were perfect. Also liked my son's chicken tenders -- really easy to share. The best views will be from the Tiki Bar. But anywhere on the deck is perfect.

The ahi tuna nachos and espresso martinis were wonderful! Thanks Thomas for putting the fried wontons on the side (without being asked) so leftovers would be easier. You were an excellent server.

The coleslaw is the BEST slaw I have ever had in life. The food is really good, too. Really enjoyed the atmosphere and ocean views.

I ordered the Calabash platter with flounder, shrimp, fries, coleslaw, and hushpuppies. The shrimp and fish were nicely battered, though the fish could have used a touch more seasoning. The fries were crisp and well-seasoned, while the hushpuppies were a bit dry and lacking flavor. The coleslaw and cocktail sauce both had a pleasant kick from the horseradish, which was a nice surprise. Overall, it was a tasty and satisfying dish. For dessert, I tried the hot fudge brownie with vanilla ice cream. The brownie itself was a little stiff and only lukewarm, which took away from the experience. Service, however, was excellent—the staff were friendly and accommodating.

Our party of 12 was comfortably seated by the accommodating and efficient staff, who managed to get all our orders right. The kids' menu was basic, but the fries were so good they stole the show! My shrimp roll sandwich and my wife's crab cake sandwich were both absolutely delicious and served wonderfully hot. I only wish I'd remembered to capture a good shot of that amazing shrimp roll before it was gone!

Actually the night was pleasant not that cold sitting on the deck it’s self service which is a OK , I’m still searching for the shrimp in the cocktail, the wedge salad was terrific, the shrimp roll was a OK the crab sandwich was disappointing, mai tai , shrug of shoulders

Great spot to enjoy lunch or dinner on a pier. The tiki bar is super cute and on the pier. The restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating. Good fish options, kids food, and grear views. There is free parking across the street from the hotel.

Great pier seating - love being able to look at the sea and enjoy a drink w/ my meal. Sister had the crab & shrimp BLT. She liked it I had the bologna & pimento cheese sandwich - very good. French fries are crispy. Ranch dressing is good. Drinks from the Tiki bar were good. Waitstaff was nice.

Yuck. It was dirty. I just watched them sit people at dirty tables. Never cleared our table. Our food was inedible. The staff is completely ambivalent. We decided to give them a second try- we won't be back.

Pier + tiki drinks is always a winner!! This snack on Carolina Beach serves up some original takes on tiki that are tasty and strong. Our favorites were the Grog, Suckerounch, and Coconut Monk. Do not get lured by the Modern Pagan - it's awful. The food menu is limited but very tasty for snacks. The peel-and-eat shrimp are great. The wings are delicious! Come for the views. It's a perfect spot on the beach.

The drinks and beer were great. Several of us ordered the blackened mahi tacos. They were decent but the mahi portions were dismal. I opened the taco to check it out and it was ¾ length of a cheese stick and maybe the same diameter. $18 for two tacos is not worth it. After being here a few times I've concluded this is a watering hole and not a restaurant.

I don't know what everyone else is saying, went here 5 times in a week. Great drinks, great staff, quick, easy going, and the mahi... perfect every time. The salsa verde shrimp (basically shrimp ceviche) is to die for, so fresh and tasty. All the drinks are amazing and I don't understand how anyone has a complaint about this place. Worth every dollar you'll spend there.

Fresh seafood. Calabash dinner Perfectly fried. The fish Tacos are perfection. The crab cakes are full of crab and less filler. Love their outside seating.

Love the tiki bar! Never been for a full meal, though the plates I passed looked great. 5 stars for the location and that you can walk up straight from the beach! Highly recommend the bar for a break from the beach. There is limited shade but great views and lots of seating. Drinks range from $12-$14, so come prepared. Servers are friendly enough, not something I would write home about but certainly fine.

We eat here every time we go down to our house at Carolina Beach. This is probably 4-6 times a year. The food is always spectacular. Every dish we have ordered is delicious. The drinks are tasty and varied. The views from the second floor are breathtaking. Choose this place any time you can. It's a hidden gem.

The service was awesome! The staff was friendly. The outside patio was perfect for a big party, and the pier bar had views of the ocean. The food was average. The crabcake was okay, it didn't have much of a flavor.

Wings were sloppy but good. Not the cheap frozen ones. Tiki bar was just it, a tiki bar but quick service. Highly recommend for a quick stop by to cool your pallett

Great beach side, open bar. Overlooking the ocean. Solid drink pours. Crab cake sandwich on point! Spicy mayo was keen. Love this place. Would recommend it to friends if in the area

Tiki bar out the back of a hotel on a beach pier. What could go wrong?!?! Actually nothing... blackened Mahi tacos were very good. Chips & salsa it came with were fresh & salsa was good & spicy! Two bartenders (Amy & Mike) were attentive & very kind. Local IPA for $8 and a $14 drink. Tacos were expensive but tasty. Ambiance is an up charge - I get it! Totally worth it.

We arrived later in the evening and sat outside.Lyric (our server) was amazing. It was a nice night with perfect temps to sit outside. The lighting was perfect for a quiet night out. The food came promptly and looked delicious. The French fries were fresh and crispy and the bologna sandwich was delish. The blackened fish taco was good but not super flavorful. Prices were very reasonable.

Always an excellent brunch on Sunday mornings and the view can't be beat. If you sit outdoors, you do have to go up to the bar to place your order! Mimosa are $7, Bloody Mary $10! Food portion very generous and excellent taste!

This was our first time eating here and it did not disappoint. Our server, Giselle, was great, the food was delicious, and the beachside location can't be beat!

This place was yummy! I got the fish tacos and man they were good and my partner tried a pimento cheese burger. He hadn't ever tried pimento cheese so he wasn't a fan. Pretty pricey but you'd expect that from a place on the beach. Service was okay. Pretty good overall!

Ate at the tiki bar and the atmosphere is unbeatable. Ask for kids menu- we weren't given one and struggled to figure what to order our kids, only for the waitress to then share they DID have a kids menu. Drinks were good. We didn't realize the tiki bar area you can seat yourself, but order at the bar- no waitstaff came to take our order.

Prompt service! We had drinks and an appetizer while waiting for our airbnb to be ready. We sat in the covered outdoor seating, which was nice. There is upstairs seating and outdoor seating. Free 2 hour parking offered!

This is a great place In Carolina Beach! One of few restaurants actually on the ocean. Great food and service. Tiki Bar is on a pier into the ocean! Fun for everyone including children! Highly recommended!

Ok, this spot is awesome. Great for drinks, food and getting a sun tan. The staff are very nice and helpful. The food is spot on. I had the shrimp and crab melt. Sooo good. I wanted to go this past Friday but the weather was not in our favor. Be back next week!!

Great food. It's right on the water. The margaritas are amazing! Our service was kind of young, but she was sweet. She just didn't understand the alcohol order.

We were so excited try this place on our vacation, however, the food we ordered left much to be desired. The meat was dry and didn't have a lot of flavor, and was slightly cold. The fries and crab dish we got was yummy, though. Overall, won't come again, and disappointed by the seafood.

Just okay in my opinion. The fish sandwich and shrimp po'boy were good but a little dry. They could have used a sauce on them. The view is nice and we were able to be seated quickly. Overall, it wasn't bad just nothing special.

Walked right in. No parking needed for us within walking distance. There is a car park across the street. We ordered som apps and drinks. Great view.

Food was edible, tasted kinda bland. Our waiter came twice to our table in 40 minutes, something happened with our order and the waiter blamed it on the kitchen. Food took 40+ minutes and was bland. The place was fine but the whole experience wasn't nice.

Oh my gosh my husband has been holding out on me! We been here over a year and he finally takes me here. His dad's favorite spot. Just went to drink and have and have a snack. The crab dip had breadcrumbs in it (sad face) but hubby scrapped them off and enjoyed it very much. I had rum drinks. Super good. Strong. They do have a restaurant or the bar. Parking was free for the restaurant however they don't want u using it to spend a day at the beach. They used reeds as straws! Really enjoyed my tome here

This is a cute restaurant at a great location. But you go to a restaurant for food and drinks. Both were disappointing for me. Our waitress Chloe is adorable and her service was wonderful. We started with crab dip. It was a small portion and the crackers were so bland. I also had fish tacos. It lacked flavor. It needed some type of creama. It came with chips and salsa. Nothing special. My cocktail had very little flavor. I would go back to have a beer on the pier, but that's about it.

For a tiki bar, I have to say it's much better than I expected. The location is hard to beat (on the beach). The drink selection is small but I think that's to be expected and I think they do what they can to make it a diverse selection. And the food is honestly much better than I ever could have anticipated. We've enjoyed the burger, the tacos and we've had the fried bologna & pimento cheese sandwich (a NC staple) in prior trips... all were good enough that we have a tough time deciding what to snack on each time we return.

Chilly day today to sit outside, so DH and I sat at the bar, which faces the pier and ocean. I ordered the special of the day: fried shrimp tacos with chips and salsa; DH ordered the oyster roll with fries. Both were very good and came out very fast. Mine was on the sloppy/messy side, but it was tasty with the cole slaw, cheese and dressing. there were 3-4 small shrimp in each taco. The taco shell looked to be broiled, as it had some burn marks and a slight crunch. They have a limited menu, but a nice selection off choices for everyone. Friendly young bartender/waitress who took good care of us.

Abigail was our waitress and she was so friendly and helpful with our service! The brisket sandwiches and fries.... OMG, fantastic!! We love the Golden Sands resort and we're very pleased to come back to an old favorite at the Ocean Grill!

We went on a Friday night so we had about a 30-40 min wait. Took a while to get our food after we ordered which was frustrating. Very average food. The sandwich was simple with just the fish, tomato, and lettuce. Wish there had been some tartar sauce to give it a bit more flavor. But the fish was good and fried nice and crispy. Our server was very kind.

Food was very good. Huge servings 2 people can eat one meal easy. Parking a little tight.

Pleasantly surprised. Staff was attentive. Lots of seating out or inside. This place is ON THE OCEAN. Food was very hot and tasty. Had the flounder and shrimp with cole slaw and fries. Get the chips and salsa early for a nice appeteaser.

The Tiki Bar could be a 5 Star...the restaurant is miserable. Very limited menu, poor quality all the way around. Skimpy steak, overly breaded crab cakes, questionable shrimp cocktail appetizer, really disappointing. Skip food and go directly to the tiki bar. Beach around the pier is good too to watch fireworks and listen to music.

Beautiful view- a little expensive for the size of shrimp basket but expected for the area I guess. Okay cocktails, fun spot for dinner if you are in a bind!

Great atmosphere with a knowledgeable staff. Food is great pescatarians like myself and willing to sub for vegetarians as well.

Favorite spot in Carolina Beach! I can only speak to the pier and tiki bar, not the food offered at the restaurant. This is always busy and for great reason. My friend and I were recommended to come here, but warned the drinks were pricey. Coming from Charlotte, the drink prices actually seemed great. I'm so glad we came here and came back each day after. The tiki bar has fun drinks, great bartenders, and amazing views. It is the perfect place to have a drink and watch the ocean or just take in the great weather and views. It's equally great at nighttime, with string lights lighting up the pier. Everyone hanging out here is friendly as well and you'll meet lots of people. Several brought their dogs with them as well. Highly recommend this spot for a good drink and great views. This can't be beat!

It's good. I wouldn't call it excellent, but it's good. The view makes up for the ordinariness of the food. One thing I find bizarre is that you have to go inside to get frozen drinks. They don't have a blender at the tiki bar. It's a nice place to sit outside and have lunch when you're spending a day at the beach.

Fun atmosphere, great food, and good service! We had a party of 6 and were seated immediately. The blackened fish tacos are a great pick, I would definitely order them again. The peel and eat shrimp were also fresh and delicious.

If visiting Carolina or Kure beach you MUST stop here! A local favorite with a great view, food + drinks! Just relocated to the area and the Ocean Grill and Tiki Bar hit the spot for so many reasons! Great service first and foremost! Bartender was very friendly and attentive. The outdoor area is simply beautiful. Definitely will be back as we only were there for a few beverages?

I've been to this place a couple times this summer, but most recently we finally came to get lunch (food, instead of just drinks). It's almost always popular around the bar that sits on the pier, and it is first come first serve seating. Parking tip: When driving along the road before the Tiki Bar, pay attention to when you come across what looks like a hotel on your left when facing the ocean and a gravel lot to your right. You'll be able to park there regardless of having a parking sticker since this parking lot is ONLY for Tiki Bar guests. *Don't park there to attempt to go to the beach, you will be towed* The bar staff is friendly and efficient and make strong drinks from the ones I've had and tried from my friend's cups. The menu is accessed from the napkin dispenser on the tables or on the bartop via QR code. The menu features island bar food, handhelds and fun paradise drink options. We had the blackened fish tacos which were perfectly cooked and had all the accompaniments I personally enjoy in a seafood taco. Well executed and is served with tortilla chips and salsa that tasted fresh and made me wish I ordered a margarita! Ha-ha. The best part is really the view; you are literally eating as close as you can get to the water. Bring a hat, sunscreen and sunglasses!

We were seated, given menus and our drinks were brought quickly. But we waited 30 minutes for the waiter to come back for our order. Then we waited another 30 minutes for our order to arrive. We weren't given any utensils but I saw where the utensils were kept so I went to get forks, knives and napkins for our table. Half way through, I wanted more water...but no waiter in sight. So I went to the wait station and got the pitcher of water and filled the glasses at our table. We waited another 35 minutes for the bill...which was on the waiters electronic device. He totaled it out for me and asked if I wanted a receipt. Yes. So he came back and handed me the receipt. I was never asked if I wanted to leave a tip so I left $10 on the table (~20%). When I got home and looked at the receipt I found they added 20% tip to my bill...another $10.40. I really hate that they took advantage and added a tip for me. I ended up tipping 40% of our bill! We were totally underwhelmed with this restaurant, and I should mention that the food was very bland: 1 chicken sandwich, 1 Mahi Mahi sandwich and 1 Fish Taco. We visit the area frequently and will not go back to this restaurant.

Walked in on a Monday around 6 and had our choice of seating on the patio, deck, inside, or tiki bar. We sat on the covered deck. Food was fast. I ordered the burger, which seemed a bit over cooked. The mojito I had was fresh and delicious! Wasn't very busy, so we walked the tiki bar. They have a staircase from the beach where you can walk up and order cocktails and small bites of food. There is a little water hose where you can rinse off the sand. It's a great restaurant because of its environment and the beach view. Magical at night with the lights outside!
