I got very impressed with the decoration and the history of the place. Love everything. I highly recommend this place very much. Food was excellent, service, everything was good. I enjoyed especially the muffins, the crab and that Cheesecake. Fantastic topping with coconut and mango. Took an extra one home.

Google
Crab cakes are really good and the perfect size. I didnt really care for the spinach dip however my salad was good. Service was great, atmosphere was cool but alot going on with the decor. The little guy at the front confused me a few times. Can't wait to visit again.

There was a nice Friday night crowd and about an hour wait. But a little stroll around makes it go by fast. And worth the wait. Nice view of the ocean. Great food and service. Thanks, Trevor!

Google
Food: Stuffed Mushrooms, Delicious, very creamy and melts in your mouth, this almost filled me up. The crab definitely stood out. This was a highlight Fish of the day: Grouper, Got this grilled, it was cooked well but rice pairing was meh. The grouper being $60 was underwhelming. They tried to enhance the flavor by overwhelming the fish with seasoning, but it just didn’t take. Ambience: Very dark inside, it’s darker than most night clubs. And it’s also loud and full of life. Returning/ Recommendation: I’ll be going again in the afternoon so I can enjoy the scenery. I’d temper my expectations and understand you’re paying for “ambience” and the food is good but if the price is worth it is up to the consumer

The ambiance is romantic with views overlooking the ocean. Perfect restaurant for date night or adults night out. Would not recommend for children. The first time we went we had our kid. Better choice for just a date night. There wasn’t much on the menu for kids. Love the daily specials. This time we had the red snapper Oscar style and Japanese scallops. Delicious.

This place is located overlooking the water. The interior is a combination of rooms with high ceilings, stained glass windows, and much church related artifacts. There is also one of the largest round tables I’ve ever seen I believe it seated 15 women. Service on a Thursday afternoon in February was quick and thoughtful. We requested the overhead fan be turned down and the waitstaff complied making us more comfortable. The onion soup was very good, not too salty and the bread had a small part that was still crispy.

Google
Went here for our 47th anniversary, so we did splurge a bit. Service was excellent from the moment we walked in the door to the well wishes when we left. We hadn't made a reservation, but passed the wait (about 30 min) pleasantly in the bar area watching the ocean. Waitstaff was attentive & professional yet also friendly. The view was fabulous, the food superb. (I had the chef's special) Perfect way to celebrate!

Julie Ritchie

Google
The waiter, Kevin, was exceptional. The menu offers a great variety of entrees, including decadent desserts made in house.

Yelp
The food, service and ambience are all good and the menu selections are plentiful. I had lunch there and the food was great but keep in mind, they stop serving lunch at 2pm so get there before. The service is attentive and they have all kinds of sandwiches right thru to entrees and some killer desserts. They also serve drinks for those that are inclined. For Vero Beach the prices are reasonable, simply put, if you want cheap eats, Vero is isn't your kind of place unless you eat at Mulligan's but I wouldn't let my dog eat there.

Yelp
We weren't blown away by the food. But the experience was nice, service was great, and quick. I would recommend the specials, would not recommend the steak. The smashed potatoes were under-seasoned to my taste. Other members of my party were underwhelmed by the baked potatoes. The deserts were delicious, but also slightly underwhelming. The lava cake was not very tender or lava-ish. The crème brûlée was nice, but the crème did not stay very chilled and it was not garnished, where the desert menu tray had a raspberry garnish (the little things). We did have a seaside view which was nice.

Yelp
We came to Ocean Grill in October so they had the whole place decorated for Halloween. We enjoyed a few cocktails at the bar before our table was ready, the whiskey sour that we had were good and the view was lovely of the beach. We ordered the steak which was cooked to perfection with mashed potatoes and a side asparagus. The service was decent, the place was very busy so it did take a while to get our food and drinks. Would definitely like to come again in the off-season and hopefully get seating by the windows so we can get a nice ocean view.

Yelp
This is the single-handed best prime rib I've ever had in my life. Knife was optional, and the seasoning was out of this world. I don't know how anybody would order anything else to be honest -- unless of course they ran out! Which according to our server, was a normal occurrence because it is so popular. Get there early (we were there about 5-5:30) and get yourself one! Our wait staff was fantastic. Parking can be a bit of a bear though! Definitely recommend and will be back.

Yelp
I ordered the Black gruper Cajun style and it was delicious! Also the stuffed potato was awesome

Yelp
My husband and I dined here about 3 weeks ago. The restaurant seems like the formal dining option in the area, though it seems more beach formal and the decor is very random and eclectic without a consistent theme. The restaurant is huge and the views and noise level of the table levels vary. We sat at table 22 which was more private and much more quiet, which I loved. They serve you bread at the start, which included their tasty blue cheese spread. My husband got the pasta primavera, which he loved. I got the French onion soup, which was below average and left much to be desired. Service was attentive. We finished with a chocolate cake, which was tasty but did taste very much like a boxed cake. Overall, we enjoyed our meal.

Yelp
This is my favorite restaurant in Vero Beach. It has the absolutely best setting right on the ocean, what a spectacular view, wonderful service and food fitting of such fine surroundings. We had a big group this evening, celebrating a family birthday, and it seemed like everyone other than two of us, selected a completely different entree, allowing for each of us to enjoy a wide sampling of shared food. I started with the Caesar salad, and it came loaded with anchovies, just how I like it. For my main course, I had the seafood pasta, and it was loaded with fresh spinach, fresh clams, scallops, shrimp and crab. A lovely white sauce, complemented with more than a hint of garlic of course. For any entree you get two sides, and I went with their signature spinach soufflé and potatoes. Our service was tremendous, as you are accustomed to receiving at the Ocean Grill. If you've never been, you should give it a try, though be aware reservations are not accepted, except for large groups.

Yelp
It's yummy for lunch; finally went for dinner. It did not disappoint! Service was great; tequila cosmos were perfect. I split with another, we shared prime rib and two lobster tails. Prime rib was soo delicious, tender and tasty; lobsters were nicely cooked really small for the price tho. I had the stuffed Potato which was delish. Onion rings are perfect, great size, crisp and yum!! The place is Florida beach and really comfy casual nice. Great place!!

Kata F.

Yelp
Our server was really patient and kind. She took her time and explained the specials and any questions including what appetizer would fit well with our entre in mind. The ambiance was different than most other restaurants around Vero beach and it explains the history in the menu. Also the key lime pie is worth a try.

Daniel D.

Yelp
We had a nice lunch - lobster roll and peel & eat shrimp. Excellent service, food, and view.

Lindsey H.

Yelp
My husband and I walked right in and was seated immediately and had our salads to our table within 10 minutes of us being there. We were sat where we could see the ocean it was a little darker than we are used to but it fit the atmosphere and bright lights would ruin the vibe! Our waiter Kieran was fantastic and very attentive. I will definitely return back before going back home.

Yelp
Amazing local seafood place on the ocean. We drive to Vero to eat here! Take the trip you wont regret it. Great place to celebrate someone special too!

Yelp
This place is awesome. Was recommended by a waitress at another restaurant. We asked for local fish and before we ended the sentence she said "Ocean Grill. Just go there." It's right on the water. Easy to get to. And quite large inside, deceivingly so. The waitstaff is awesome. Casey, our waitress, was wonderful, had a wealth of knowledge, and was clearly very happy with her job. I got one of that day's specials, the Pompano with Apricot Sauce. It was fantastic. My wife got the fried shrimp and she said it too was wonderful. And along with my virgin Pina Colada, dinner was great. Highly recommend the Ocean Grill if you're in town. And don't be scared by the reservation info on their website. In late September (admittedly off-season) we got right in.

Been R.

Yelp
Always a go to! Great atmosphere on the water. Love the decor especially the grand antique fireplace still used. Amazing during holidays. Halloween is a must go. They go all out. You can always find a fresh fish. Pompano in season is excellent. Wait staff have all been great. Guests visiting love it. I have been there hundreds of times, always seeing a new antique I missed. Look up at the gorgeous antique chandeliers, say hi to the knight at the bathroom and make sure to cash your check at the teller spot. The store is reasonable and some awesome Vero clothes. Great place to check out! They even accommodated friends allergic to seafood and gluten free! They took great care, even wore gloves to not cross contaminate! I love dinner 5 stars. Lunch is too limited a menu and would not go back for.

Yelp
Ocean Grill is an old-school seaside restaurant rich in history and a true gem in Vero Beach. It's important to note that they don't take reservations for groups of six or less, but they do start taking names an hour before opening. This is the restaurant to visit in the Vero Beach area, so plan ahead and make it a must on your stay. As soon as you sit down, you're greeted with crackers and their house-made blue cheese dip. If you're a blue cheese lover, you're in for a treat--this dip is pungent, creamy, and perfect for spreading on your crackers. A tossed salad is a must as a side, in my opinion, because you've got to try their house specialty dressings. The homemade dill dressing is slightly sweet, dilly, and perfectly creamy, while the imported Roquefort is so good, I found myself layering a piece of bread with the blue cheese dip and then dipping it in the Roquefort. It was heaven on a plate. For my entrée, I went with the Florida Stuffed Lobster special, which was stuffed with crabmeat. It wasn't as big as it sounded, but that was fine by me--the flavors were wonderful, with the lobster cooked to perfection and served with drawn butter. As a side, I chose the stuffed potato, which is like a twice-baked potato but mixed with pepperoncinis for a little depth of flavor and spice. Amy had the crab cake dinner, which featured two lump--and I mean LUMP--crab cakes served with a mango salsa. The combination of the crabmeat with the mango and cilantro was something we never expected but absolutely loved. It paired perfectly with a side of creamed spinach. The show really begins with dessert, when they bring out a tray to present all the options. We chose the pecan pie and tiramisu, but honestly, everything looked amazing. Some of the desserts we didn't order but drooled over included a Baileys chocolate chip cheesecake, macadamia cheesecake, triple chocolate cheesecake, praline bowl with ice cream and berries, chocolate lava cake, crème brûlée, blueberry cobbler, and more. The professionalism of the staff here is next level. Your water glass is never less than half full, and they even clean crumbs off the table between dishes. The service is truly amazing, and I cannot recommend this place enough. If you're in Vero Beach, Ocean Grill is a must-visit.

Yelp
I can't speak for the food as we did not stay. When we walked in, a most putrid odor filled the place. Looked around to see the 70s dark, depressing furniture, then left.

Yelp
It has an older classic charm that doesn't impact the quality of food or the service. My husband and friend joined me for a fish lunch. We started our meal with a key lime pie. Shared of course and very delicious. Then lunch, we all had a grilled grouper sandwich with fries. Really good coffee and beer. Daphne was our server. Very friendly, warm and efficient. Food was delicious.

Yelp
Delicious food, super cool ambience and decor, ocean views, and great service. This place has super unique history and is a classic "old florida restaurant" dating back to the 1940's. We came in around 7:45 on a Sunday and were able to be seated right away. My husband had the wedge, and french onion soup, which he said were absolutely phenomenal. I had a house salad and the gluten free pasta primavera with chicken. They had an entire gluten free menu with so many options, which was super exciting to see! The pasta was delicious and we both loved the experience. We will definitely go back again in the future.

Yelp
Another visit here, on a day with crummy weather... I had the Crab burger, she had the blue crab quiche. Both yummy as usual, portions perfect, service great, and very cool elegant old Florida vibe... we'll be back, this is def a go to spot right on the ocean when you're in Vero Beach!

Yelp
Went years ago(3) it is absolutely fabulous. Listen to your waiters Their recommendations are awesome. I don't eat dessert, however the Irish cake is fabulous!

Yelp
This place was amazing. We stumbled upon it and it was a real winner. Our server was Keith and he was the absolute nicest and most professional (one of the other tables was screaming at him for literally no reason and he didn't react negatively at all). The view of the ocean was stunning. The atmosphere was lovely. The music was the right level and the lighting inside was so much fun and enjoyable. The food was delicious. My favorite was the deviled crab. I have never had something as good as this in my life. Food came out quickly and was hot and fresh. One of the best restaurants you can eat at. Absolute 5/5 restaurant. Excellent service. Thank you so much Keith for providing us with such a wonderful experience.

Yelp
Tourists love this place! Right on the waterfront, super cute, with a Vero Beach vibe. Service was on point. A little pricey if your wallet is thin. The ambiance is dark and satisfying. We sat at the bar, enjoying the view plus all the little mementos scattered about. A lovely stop on our tour of Vero Beach where we just bought a home. I'd go back. :) Thanks Ocean Grill! You can trust me, I was in the business. ;D

Yelp
What a superb meal! He had the manhattan style clam chowder, which was rich in flavor and chocked full of seafood. I selected the fresh pompano in apricot butter and he the Floundet prepared Oscar style. Both were amazing. Save room for dessert as their selections are numerous and all so tempting. The best part of the experience was our server Julia. She is what made the meal so memorable and pleasant. She took exceptional care of us.

Yelp
To my surprise, this meal was spectacular! More often than not, I'm not impressed by the quality of food at restaurants located on the beach. I typically find the food is overpriced and it's merely the atmosphere that warrants the up charge. This meal differed. The food and service were both fantastic. Our server was extremely attentive and did a great job taking care of our needs and making meal recommendations. She was both friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. We were a party of 4 and all of us had different hankerings. One was craving chicken fingers, another desired a burger, one wanted fish and I hadn't a clue but settled on the pasta primavera with grilled chicken. The entrees are served with two sides; therefore, I opted for a house salad and pecan mushroom wild rice at the recommendation of our server. This worked in my favor because I paired some of the chicken from my pasta with the side of rice for lunch the following day. One of us who craved the burger added a beet salad to her meal. The one who desired chicken fingers was able to order a kids meal so she was in her glory with fingers and fries. Finally, the remaining one in our party ordered the grouper and paired with a scrumptious looking cheesy potato and a veggie. We were served fresh bread, crackers, and a blue cheese butter at the beginning of our meal. I was hesitant to try it but it proved to be quite tasty! It paired really well with the flatbread crackers. Our meals were very filling so we didn't partake in the extravagant dessert collection and we requested not to see the tray. We saw the tray make its way to other tables and the desserts appeared to be epic! I'll definitely attempt to save room the next time I dine here. Finally, there is an attached gift shop with lots of great merch and a gorgeous beach to walk off some of those calories.

Cory L.

Yelp
The blue cheese spread for the crackers was a real surprise in a good way. My wife had the filet and I had the NY strip. Both were cooked perfectly. The waiter was very knowledgeable and super attentive to our needs. The decor is very unique as is the history of the building. We will be back for sure
google avatar

Tony F.

Yelp
The location was great, our table was along the oceanfront windows. Our service was impeccable and the food was outstanding, except the shrimp in the pesto primavera was quite overcooked. We enjoyed our evening and will certainly visit again.

Randy Y.

Yelp
What an amazing place to eat at! Although it may be considered on the pricier side, every single appetizer, entree, and desert my group tried were amazing! I enjoyed the vibe of the restaurant itself as well, could see people of different ages enjoying themselves. Their service is amazing as well! They will help you package your food to take home on top of fantastic service! Would come here again on any occasion!
google avatar

Deane P.

Yelp
This is a great place for both the food and service. My wife and I went here for our Anniversary and it was our second visit to this establishment. We received the same service attention and of course our food was expertly prepared and served. The ocean view from this place is amazing. We will be back again and again
google avatar

David E.

Yelp
Classic, old Florida. No frills, great ambiance. Right on the beach. The food is usually excellent. The bar staff is friendly. Regulars abound and are always up to chat. Get here early and enjoy a martini!
google avatar

John's Paula E.

Yelp
Stellar crusted snapper! The atmosphere is so enchanting as it displays maybe artifacts from Vero's founding days. The blueberry muffins are the best anywhere. The Pinot grigio painted really well with the snapper. The service was fine. I do love this restaurant

Nancy I.

Yelp
Always welcoming, great service and bar,if you love seafood, prime rib and the best Roquefort salad dressing ever, this is the place for you! Always fun and the ocean views are the best in Vero.
google avatar

Linda G.

Yelp
We really lucked out when we decided to just park and find somewhere for lunch! The Ocean Grill sits right next to the ocean and the window views are spectacular. I ordered the scallops and they were so tender and the mustard sauce was perfect: subtle and not overpowering. The Pecan Rice Pilaf was a perfect accompaniment. Our server was attentive and refilled our sodas frequently. Check their website for information on reservations and party size requirements. You don't want to be disappointed and not be able to get in or have a long wait. The inside waiting area is small and can get crowded. Waiting outside would be an option depending on the weather. There is a small gift shop area, where they had some cool items. The website also has information on the restaurant's history and its pretty cool! We will definitely return when back in the Vero Beach area!

Susan K.

Yelp
This place is by far the best restaurant I've eaten at since I moved here. It sits right on the beach with windows that face it so you can see the waves crashing in and the moon over the sea at night. The atmosphere hits you when you walk through the door with the way they have it decorated it will take your breath away especially at Christmas time. Pick from booths, table and chairs, or you can eat at one of the two beautiful bar, it's all good. As for the food Omg every bite is so wonderly delicious for the the main entree to the dessert and, make sure you get one of many deserts. It pricey but, you get what you pay for right,? I highly recommend this place you won't be sorry except if you can't go back all the time.
google avatar

Clark D.

Yelp
Always great service, food, and atmosphere! Soups fantastic, especially the clam chowder & French onion.

Linda K.

Yelp
I am only giving 3 stars because our waiter, Kevin, was fantastic!! There were 8 of us so lots of requests etc. The food was very disappointing. The Mahi was dry and the vegetables under cooked, almost raw. And the price tag was outrageous. They have decreased their portion sizes as well. We have been there many times but won't be going back.
google avatar

Richard W.

Yelp
Great atmosphere right on the water. Be forewarned it fills up quickly' but very much worth the wait. We arrived at 5;30 pm with no reservation and waited 1 hr 10 minutes at bar for a table for two. We got cocktails and apps while we waited. Great service and great food! The stone crab claws were the best (and best price in SOFLO!) definitely a repeat.

ja y.

Yelp
Never disappoints! Friendly hello when you arrive, expertly prepared cuisine, servers that make you as if you are dinning in their home. Of course the view is a given. My thank you to all at this lovely restaurant.
google avatar

Theresa L.

Yelp
On the beach, beautiful view, has its own parking area but it got packed very quickly. They open at 11:30 and we got there around noon and we got the last parking spot. They don't take reservations unless you had more than 6 people. So when we arrived the wait was 30-40 min. There is a little shop inside you can walk around, we got called around 30 min or so. Decorated very festive inside. Everyone was very friendly. Got the onion rings to start, very good! I got the crab cake sandwich with fries. Crab cake itself was very good, the French fries was soggy and not cooked long enough. Everyone enjoyed the food! Price was average.
google avatar

Damon D.

Yelp
Great atmosphere with lots of people. They took our reservation quickly, and we were put on the wait list. We walked over to the bar and relaxed until our table was ready. We were seated in about 30 minutes. It's not bad for just walking in. Waitress was super nice and explained the menu, and made suggestions. My Filet was perfect to the T. For medium rare, I have not seen better. It was cooked like textbook photos of how a medium rare steak should be. Super soft and delicious. They provided butter as a side, but I drizzled on a light amount. So good. Mashed potatoes. Same as mashed potatoes anywhere. They were good and not dry but mashed potatoes. Surprisingly, their table bread was amazing. Crunchy outer exterior, but SUPER soft and fluffy on the inside. Tried the garlic spread but preferred their normal sift butter more. Great meal for me. The shrimp meal was delicious as well and super flavorful. Excellent shrimp size. Very fulfilling. I would recommend this place to anyone in the area. It has the vibe of upscale, but there were normal practical people there, so we still felt right at home. You can't go wrong with a meal here and an excellent environment for friends or family. Hope to see you there.
google avatar

Nicole W.

Yelp
Got there at opening time and was told it was a 2 hour wait while looking at an empty restaurant. They only take reservations for large groups so I am not sure who was going to fill up those small tables. Went to another fine dining establishment 1/2 mile a way and had a fabulous dinner.
google avatar

Vicky K.

Yelp
Everything was 5 from the views, the food to the service! We had the burger, escargot, seafood dip!!

Barbara H.

Yelp
Thee best restaurant dining experience we've had in years! Ambiance - AMAZING! Service - AMAZING! Food?? WOW! We had a dark ginger cake for dessert that we both couldn't get enough of, but we tried so many things - exquisite fish, Coquilles St. Jacques, all kinds of seafood, GREAT onion rings.. on and on. But it was genuinely MEMORABLE. Packed, as well!!!
google avatar

Yelp
The food was good, the food was good, best chopped salad I ever had.the food was fresh, great view, fresh seafood, great service

Hohoho B.

Yelp
Really cool ambiance so many things to look at inside the restaurant. But the view of the beach was just so nice. The day we went ocean was blue. Sky was clear and sunny. Food was good We went for lunch. Our party had baked blue crab yum! I could've eaten 4 servings of this. Also had Jake's steak sandwich. Pretty good size. Broiled scallops, French onion soup, server forgot our blue crab chowder but it probably would've been too filing anyway. It was a really good anniversary meal.

Yelp
If you are looking for an all around great dining experience, Ocean Grill in Vero Beach has to be on your list. The building that has called home to the Ocean Grill is a unique mix of prize fish trophies, antiques and classic photos with a view of miles ocean right outside the bar and dining room windows. A basket of classic crackers and accompanying butter and blue cheese butter await you in case you quickly need to take the edge off your hunger. The night we ate here, we had escargot, wedge salad, stuffed potato and Cajun grouper. An exceptional meal with wonderfully attentive service. Get there by 4pm to put your name on the waiting list for dinner which begins service at 5pm or you will be waiting for well over an hour. It is worth the wait however, so late or early, get a drink and enjoy an exceptional dining experience!
google avatar

Wendy B.

Yelp
We chose to sit at the "2nd bar" which has a limited menu. As promised by the Host, the chicken wings were delicious. They were cooked perfectly and had a tasty Sweet Thai chili sauce. We arrived just before closing time so the bartender was visibly annoyed, but professional enough to fix us a drink and put in our food orders. My orange crush was perfect. I would go back again when we have time to try the full dining experience.

Yelp
Good view of the ocean and specials were great! Please ask for Ginny! She is our new favorite server!

Yelp
Let me state that the place was very busy on my visit.... Definitely overpriced for what you get I've dined all around the country on both coasts and I was in the restaurant business.. food was lukewarm at best small portions was not impressed... My daughter's scallop dish was barely cooked and was not like described on the menu... I know they don't care about my review because they have a million dollar business but you have to realize I was on vacation and I was super disappointed after waiting an hour and a half for a table.... Fortunately there's tons of restaurants in the Vero Beach area..

Amanda J.

Yelp
The view was awesome. We had a wait to get a view of the ocean so we walked along the beach while we waited, so nice. Our waitress, Nina, was fantastic. She was super friendly, knowledgeable and just a great person. The food was fantastic. I've never had blue cheese with crackers but it was good!
