The food was very good, however the service was slow. We were seated for at least 8 - 10 minutes before someone brought us water. We had to wait another 5 to 10 minutes before our waitress came by to take our drink order. We did not get to the restaurant until 8 pm, and they close at 9. By the time we received our food it was almost 9 o'clock and I felt rushed to finish eating and leave the restaurant. Our waitress was friendly and the food was good.

The food is reasonable and tasty. Not too expensive for what you get. Wait time was a little long. Wait staff was friendly and courteous.

Very good food and great service. We ate here for our anniversary. Best sushi I have had. Next time we visit the Big Island we will come back.

Take out experience : It was horrible. We had to wait 40 minutes for take out (!) and the restaurant was not even full. Sushis had WAY too much rice it's incredible how much there was compared to the rest. Little 6ml soya sauce are super small, ask for more ! BUT, during the 40 minutes waiting, everything served to other customers looked delicious so I may return there to eat in.

Good sushi and nigiri, didn't try sashimi. Price for rolls decent. Nigiri prices good. Tempura platter overpriced.

Okay sushi. Okay prices. Tea was kinda weak. There servers were nice. The place is very nicely decorated, minimalist modern design aesthetic.

Serving previously frozen salmon must be some kind of crime in Japan, but obviously not in Hawaii..... I had the worst Salmon Teriyaki ever in this restaurant. It was so dry and chewy I had to send it back. This should not be allowed to happen in a Japanese restaurant. To their credit, they replaced it with some vaguely decent chicken after I explained how bad the salmon was. I understand Hawaii has some special logistical issues regards fresh produce, but even if the Salmon was frozen, there are better ways to defrost it so it doesn't lose it's consistency and flavour. Not good enough.

This was one of my favorite restaurants in Hilo. They have the best California roll and I've not found a better one on the mainland or Japan yet.
