I went there with my friend on Saturday for the breakfast, wasn’t too crowded. The view for the ocean was amazing, but the survey was not as good, cuz the lady being rude kinda, she came and brought the check , we paid, tipped 20%. I haven’t seen my fried for 4 years and I just wanted to talk to her, but the lady didn’t stop coming and coming like, you’ve done your food, so free up the table 🤦‍♀️. The coffee was good, I’m not picky at all, but the omelette didn’t taste good, and the chicken had no flavor at all.

8-21-25 Visit: Healthy, delicious Mediterranean lunch! Outdoor patio with beautiful view of Manhattan Beach. Memorable experience, good vibes, prompt customer service by the owner. Had their "Mediterranean Sampler" & roast chicken. Patio area was clean, lots of flowers, literally butterflies hovering around. My hotel "Hyatt LAX" concierge, recommended this laid-back South Bay community for an afternoon lunch & walk on beach.10min walk to beach, Pier & "The Strand".

I admire and appreciate any eatery that doesn’t exploit its envious environment by scrimping on quality. Here you get what its name advertises, with the bonus of fresh and filling food and fast, friendly service (I came on a high-traffic holiday Saturday and got my OJ & breaky burrito in a few minutes) in a pretention-free oasis. The cafe’s petite patio overlooking the Pacific is pleasantly low-key with locals (💗SoBay 4eva!) and few obvious tourists, tucked around the corner from the main drag. You’ll want to come again. I do!

Lovely partial ocean views with very friendly yet very inattentive inattentive service. Plastic chairs are not comfortable and tables are small. Didn't notice the B rating until after we ordered or we would have left. Chilaquiles were tasty as promised by our server, but the carne asada was way oversalted while conversely the beans had no salt. Their neighbor's gardener showed up with a leaf blower and completely ruined my meal, with dirt and debris but it wasn't very good to begin with anyway. That omelet didn't have nearly enough cheese and the spinach was added raw & unseasoned just ike the tasteless eggs. We felt the food was overpriced for the lack of quality. There are far better options in Manhattan Beach. The staff was so nice so I hope they take this to heart and make some simple improvements to improve the experience for future guests. Oh, also the patio umbrellas overlap to create a makeshift patio cover so it would be difficult for them to lower an umbrella for you to hav direct sunshine if that's what you're seeking.

This morning we went to Ocean View Cafe. Our friend was taking the pic and other friend came a few minutes after. But guess what they charged 29.05 for service for 6 people. They count my baby that I shared a meal with him and even brought my own plate for him. That’s very disappointing, they also charged more for the tip than what we gave.

Google
Such a cute location! Definitely family run with great vibes. If you want some amazing green chilaquiles this is the only spot in Manhattan Beach. Blueberry pancakes were killer too. Very fast service

WOW! what a hidden gem of a restaurant. My friend wanted to have breakfast near the beach, and I found Ocean View Cafe online, and it did not disappoint. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by friendly staff, and we were given the chance to choose our table. The waitress came to our table and offered us something to drink. We opted for a cup of regular coffee. Within a couple of minutes, she served us the hottest and fresh-brewed cup of coffee. We shared a Felipe Omelet with lots of chicken breast strips, bacon, and cheese. The egg was cooked perfectly, crispy on the outside, and nice and fluffy in the inside. And, the Pesto Chicken sandwich with pasta salad. The sandwich was good, but the star of the plate was the pasta salad. It was cooked al dente with a slight bite in a delicate pesto sauce. Afterward, we took a quick walk to the beach. HIGHLY recommend the Ocean View Cafe.

Google
Loved this little spot with the ocean view. We almost went to the restaurant next door by accident! The ceviche was really good. My fiancé and I shared that and the eggs Benedict and I wasn’t a huge fan but he was. He literally said he would order it again, although I would not at all… I’m curious about the Chilaquiles and will probably come back for that. We also like that it’s family owned and operated.

Yelp
Location is perfect with an amazing view of the ocean, and lovely downtown Manhattan Beach. The food was fine, nothing negative to say. We had basic breakfast - pancakes, waffles, bacon and eggs - nothing too fancy. We weren't expecting 'The Ivy'. So yea- great place overall, seating is a little cramped which means you will have to listen to conversations of rude obnoxious cretins who cant keep their voices down, (I never know how to deal with these people). But a nice brunch before a pleasant walk along the Strand - Good Day overall

Yelp
Came by for brunch with a party of three. We were seated at a small table on the outdoor patio, which felt a bit cramped for three people. The table was also unbalanced and shaky. We started with a coffee and café latte, which were just okay. We wanted to order the ceviche, but it was unfortunately unavailable. Eggs Benedict with Ham: Not worth the $19 price tag. The egg wasn't very runny, and the overall flavors were nothing special. Belgian Waffle: Met expectations--a safe choice. Breakfast Pita: Essentially a breakfast burrito in pita bread form. Very solid and served with a great hot sauce. The spiced hashbrowns were also a very nice touch. Overall, the menu felt stronger on the Mexican side than the Mediterranean. Unfortunately, the hot sauce ended up being the most flavorful part of our meal. If I were to return, I'd stick to one of the Mexican dishes. Parking: Metered street parking, which can be difficult to find during peak meal times.

Yelp
I came to this restaurant excited to enjoy brunch based on the great reviews. Upon being seated, we politely asked if we could sit at a different table. The first staff member said that would be fine and that it would take about ten minutes. Shortly after, we saw that table cleaned and given to another group. When we asked about it, a different staff member approached us and insisted that the table was reserved for another party who was supposedly ahead of us. Instead of listening as we calmly and respectfully tried to clarify that we had been told we could wait for that table, she repeatedly spoke over us, gesturing dismissively and refusing to engage in a courteous dialogue. I asked several times if I could finish speaking, but she walked away. I then asked another staff member if I could speak with her again. That employee was kind and apologetic and went inside to get her, but I could see the woman shaking her head and refusing to come back out. Eventually, the other employee returned to apologize, explaining that the woman declined to speak with me. At that point, we decided to leave. Unfortunately, the staff's indifference made it clear that our business wasn't valued. I expressed that I would be leaving this review because customer service and kindness matter--a restaurant thrives because of its patrons, and no customer deserves to be treated with blatant disrespect. While I'm sure the food is great and others may have had wonderful experiences, what happened today was deeply disappointing and felt discriminatory. No one will likely admit this, and I understand that any response may attempt to deny it--but the disregard we experienced spoke volumes. Throughout the entire interaction, we remained calm, kind, and respectful. All we wanted was fair treatment and a chance to be heard. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and ensures that all guests are treated with dignity and respect moving forward.

Yelp
This little cafe gives a home style feel. The menu is big and has a lot of good staple breakfast and brunch items. Everything looked and tasted really good especially the hot sauce! There might be a wait since seating is limited but if you can find a table I recommend it!

Yelp
Literally one of the most below average meals and bad service and bad ambiance I've had in a while. Pictures they post on menu is not what it looks like. We asked for our food to be cooked in butter instead of oil and the waitress said they don't have it. Ummmm you serve breakfast but don't have butter??? Flies everywhere!! I never in my life been attacked by so many flies before while eating. I was staying in manhattan beach for 3 nights and didn't encounter flies anywhere else. And when she brought our food she refused to set it down on the table!!! She made us take it off her hands. My family owned 5 restaurants and let me tell u that is a big no no.

Yelp
Located off a sidewalk with an amazing view of the water the 1st thing I noticed was how small the place but in the end, that's what gives its charm. We were warmly greeted and attentively served throughout our visit. I had the Ocean View Omelette and my wife had the French Toast. Both were good portions and tasty.

Yelp
Nice little brunch spot in Manhattan beach! Ocean View is a tiny and small breakfast/lunch spot just up the hill from the beach. You do get a view of the ocean but the restaurant is very tiny only offering a patio so you may have to wait. The food was fine, pretty standard brunch offering. However, the service was extremely slow and they forgot my husband's drink several times. After we ordered it took almost 40 minutes for them to bring out the dishes. In terms of the bathroom, you have to walk through their kitchen to get to it and it didn't feel like the cleanest bathroom. I hope they can work to upgrade this in the future. And because they are located in Manhattan Beach, parking is extremely difficult during peak lunch times - just a fair warning.

Yelp
Nothing beats the gorgeous ocean view of Manhattan Beach! This is a nice cozy family-run cafe with friendly service and delicious food. Fun place to meet friends for a casual brunch!

Yelp
The food was delicious. Quality products amazing flavor. Service was excellent. Staff checked on you often to ensure dinning needs were mer. The look of the place was cute with an ocean view. The prices were reasonable especially based on the quality of food you get. Street parking near. Ill be back.

Yelp
I wanted to like this place, but unfortunately the service was not good. The lady up front let us know that it was going to be a 30 minute wait, and I put my name down. An hour had passed by and we still weren't called. My uncle noticed that other people were being seating before us and they had only been waiting for a fraction of the time that we had. The lady realized they skipped our name after I asked them previously how long the estimated wait was. We ordered the Belgian waffle, an order of hash browns, and the fruit yogurt. The only thing that stood out to me was the freshly squeezed orange juice and the hash browns, everything else was not worth the wait in my personal opinion. The yogurt with fruit tasted very odd, and the yogurt was very watery. I really hope they can work on the service here.

Jacqueline B.

Yelp
The service was bad and the eggs Benedict was inedible . The English muffin was burnt and you couldn't cut it . The eggs were overdone and NOT poached . Asks for a new English muffin to replace the burnt one and was given an undercooked English muffin . Server never returned to ask if everything was OK.. just dropped the check . He actually charged us $4 for the replacement muffin which was also inedible .I wanted to like this place but it was one of the worst meals I have ever had.

Yelp
Came here for the views on a beautiful sunny day. Fast and friendly service but the simple app (granola with yogurt) was nothing to brag about. I had to get some work done so they also had wife and outdoor seating so that was lovely. I may come back and try other dishes when I'm in the area cuz the ambience didn't disappoint.

Yelp
Parking is a bit difficult on Sunday afternoon. We loved the vibe. The food was good. The servers were attentive. The music was to my liking. Everyone looked like they were having a great time.
google avatar

Yelp
I came here today and was served coffee out a used mug with dirty lipstick on it... then when my food came out there was a bug under my croissant sandwich. I'm truly disappointed in my experience. Plus flies were everywhere. The staff were very nice but it was not a pleasant experience. :/

Yelp
Shit is gas, plain and simple I got the chicken pesto 10/10 I gotta somehow have 85 characters to post a review, what is this bs yelp?
google avatar

Yelp
This is a cute little cafe behind Uncle Bill's. The view was great, the patio is cute. My food was fine but the water tasted funky, and the bacon was slightly off. Everything else I ordered (eggs, fruit, waffle) were good!
google avatar

Kim P.

Yelp
Cute little spot to enjoy a nice breakfast meal on a tuesday morning , the staff was very attentive.

Yelp
Came here on busy weekend for breakfast. We got lucky and found a parking space across the street! It's located about a block uphill from the beach. Surrounded by a commercial district uphill and packed residential beach homes and condos downhill toward the beach. We got great service. I stayed conservative with the french toast and it was good. Ate breakfast in their outdoor dining area. Very nice place to have a casual breakfast. Extensive menu.
google avatar

Dillon G.

Yelp
Service was very nice! Seated right away, timely checking in, and great breakfast food! Overall, recommend if you're in the area for some morning bites!

Yelp
Popped in for brunch because - well, ocean view. Tiny family-run spot tucked off the main strip, quiet and chill. Sat outside under umbrellas, breezy, a bit of sun. I had the chilaquiles verdes and a mango smoothie - both hit the spot. Portion was solid, coffee was nice, and you don't feel rushed. Perfect little break by the beach.
google avatar

Yelp
Mexican style brunch with a great view. The food is decent but the highlight is the hot salsa. I ordered a burrito just to add it to it. P.d. In cold days they do not serve sea food.
google avatar

Tania G.

Yelp
I randomly found this place when looking for a place for brunch! And this place did not disappoint!! It was sooo good! And it was literally right next to the beach. It's a short walk down to the beach. The breeze was perfect on a hot day and the food was refreshing. We got a veggie sandwich, blueberry chocolate chip pancakes and a pesto chicken sandwich. The waitress also gave us a free smoothie which by the way was soooo refreshing !! I definitely recommend , I will most definitely going back!!

Yelp
A small family business! Such a cute restaurant with a beautiful view! The service is family oriented & I believe it is also family ran & owned Now for the food: Turkey Breast Sandwich 10/10: so tasty & made fresh! The quality of the food is always fresh along with fresh squeezed orange juice if you're in the area, stop by & enjoy some great food with a beautiful view! There is limited seating & can get quite busy!
google avatar

Margarette A.

Yelp
I was hopeful since their menu boasts they cook with olive oil and they had a decent selection. I should have stuck with my first choice, the ceviche. But per my server's recommendation I ordered the chilaquiles with carne asada. The beans were cold and the meat was tough. They didn't even try to trim the fat and gristle. I let a different server know when he dropped off the check and he didn't say anything. Also, it was an extra $8 for the carne asada. My total with coffee was $35.87. Certainly not worth it at all!
google avatar

Yelp
The view here is so beautiful. It makes you feel like you're in Paris or Spain. Besides the views though the food was not good. Crab and shrimp cocktail was bland. There was no real crab. They were made with imitated crabmeat. Roasted beef sandwich was very dry. If they provide sauce on the side it would have tasted a lot better.

Yelp
While planning to enjoy a day off and explore, I came across this quaint little cafe in Manhattan Beach on Yelp and had to stop in. It was a smaller place (check out the video), so I would definitely call beforehand for a larger group. They also didn't take reservations or waitlist, but it seemed easy enough to get a seat. I walked up and waiting less than 5 minutes for a table. Parking was also surprisingly easy to get and walk right across the street to the cafe. We stopped in on a Monday early afternoon so that may have contributed. Food was flavorful, fresh, and exactly as described and pictured. I ordered a veggie omelette and a large mango smoothie. Ocean View Cafe was a lovely, simple brunch option. It wasn't too expensive and offered large portion sizes (you can def split!) It didn't seem like they served liquor or wine, but it would have been great to enjoy a mimosa or cocktail on a nice summer day. Finally, the staff were very kind and accommodating. I would recommend stopping in if you're in Manhattan Beach for brunch.

Yelp
A casual brunch spot in Manhattan Beach nestled in between a residential neighborhood, with a view of the ocean (depending on where you sit). There is limited seating and can be a wait, but my friend and I waited about 5 minutes before being seated on a Saturday afternoon. Shortly after we sat there was a lot more people waiting to be seated. The items on the menu looked really good - a variety of things to choose from. The server was nice and friendly as well. I ordered the Mixta Ceviche Tostada. It comes with a mix of Shrimp, Fish and Crab all mixed together. Flavor was good, seafood tasted fresh, and the salsa they give you to dip your tortilla chips in was really good. They really pack your tostada with a lot of ceviche and I was super full by the end of it. I will definitely be back :) Enjoy!
google avatar

Ran D.

Yelp
Nice breakfast with a great view. We walked right up on Saturday morning and got a table for two with no wait. This is a family run, local business where the whole family works to make a great breakfast. The chef made a special salsa which was very good with my omelette.

S L.

Yelp
Extremely mediocre. Everything was flavorless (omelet, waffles) - even the syrup. I've had similar quality eggs from vending machines. I paid 50 bucks for that plus an orange juice. There was a breakfast burrito place in a small strip mall across from my hotel that served breakfast burritos bigger than your head ripe with flavor and were very capable of putting you to sleep. They cost 10 bucks. Is it so hard to ask for REAL MAPLE SYRUP at a restaurant dedicated to breakfast? We've got to start an anti brown goo campaign. "MAPLE LOVERS UNITE!!!" Its only relation to real syrup was the brown part. Service was good. Extremely overpriced for what you get, ocean view be damned. "Mc"-Ocean View. That's about the crux of it. It seems like this place is a small business and I love seeing small businesses prosper. So I hope the owner takes this to heart and ups their game. Cause the offerings here are phoned in.
google avatar

Sue R.

Yelp
This is a hidden gem with a view of Manhattan Beach and the Pacific Ocean. The food and service was excellent! Check out our video review @TripoutwithSadieandRandThom
google avatar

Veronica T.

Yelp
A beautiful view with great hospitality! Reasonable portions and yummy food. I got the half Belgian waffle with two eggs over medium. The waffle was super soft and fluffy, perfectly sweetened. I didn't even add anything to the waffle. The eggs were made with the delicious gooey center. It was a good amount of food for me, but I don't usually eat that much, so if you do, you should order something a little more hefty. Service was spectacular. The servers were patient and made sure to check on us often enough that we never needed to call them over. Lovely experience at a gorgeous place. Definitely recommend going on dates here!
google avatar

Derek T.

Yelp
Ocean View Cafe is a cute outdoor cafe that overlooks Manhattan Beach where you can grab a casual brunch before walking down to the pier. In terms of the food, it's not going to blow you away, but it's pretty homey. Whether you go for a baja burrito, a chicken pesto sandwich, or omelette, it's all going to satisfy you. That's all I can really say about the food, this is a cafe born out of convenience, views, and vibes rather than serving the best food ever. So there you go, come here for that homey quaint cafe feel while overlooking the ocean and enjoy a nice serene day.

Richard O.

Yelp
Hair in my banana pancakes. Such a shame, they were pretty good. But I couldn't keep eating them. They didn't charge me but they should've offered to remake them for me for free for that. Service was good and view is nice
google avatar

Ariana S.

Yelp
I was excited to give this place a try. The view is great and it's walking distance from the beach. The service was questionable, there were kids helping so I'm not sure if it's family owned and operated, either way the lady in the front was not very friendly but our water was! Our waiter was very kind and attentive up until the very end. There were some many red flags since we checked in, my family and I should have just gone elsewhere. There was a hair in our chops, the plates didn't look properly washed therefore I didn't eat very comfortably, was too worried about what else I would find in my food. Not a very nice brunch, first and last time coming here!!!

Emma J.

Yelp
Very nice and cute spot, it was fast service, we went when it was empty so it was nice to take pictures, the food was good, it's not just a breakfast place
google avatar

Daniel P.

Yelp
Not sure, food was lack luster. Starting with the glass of water that tasted like it came out of a cambro that had food stored in it. Roast beef sandwich was just bad not very much roast beef and it tasted old. Pesto pasta salad was dry and under seasoned.
google avatar

Naomi C.

Yelp
Maybe it was an off day but...logistically it was an inconvenient nightmare. It was very crowded, very hot, the sun umbrellas couldn't be moved to block the hot California sun from falling on our table. The dining patio was very cramped. It's on a steep incline and definitely not stroller friendly or handicapped friendly. You have to weave around other tables in very tight corners. The food was very basic. Not bad but definitely not worth coming back for. The staff seemed very young and inexperienced. There is no dedicated parking for this location so best of luck finding street or public parking.

Stephanie M.

Yelp
Come for the patio, not for the food!! Nice & friendly service, but also very slow. Our bill was $60.00 for 2 people without tip, and we only ate half of our food because it was not good. $20 for fake chilaquiles that were just hard tortilla chips with green sauce poured over them, canned beans, and a scrambled egg. The other person I was with received a soggy waffle. Skip this place, unless you want to pay top dollar for very low quality food.
google avatar

Angela F.

Yelp
Eggs cooked perfect and had browns best I've ever had. Service was friendly and fast! Cozy patio seating and warm atmosphere
google avatar

Linda V.

Yelp
Everything was excellent! From the food and the service, the staff were very welcoming and the food was delicious! The view of the beach is breathtaking. I totally recommend this Café
google avatar

Yana N.

Yelp
Great breakfast! Has the classics, family owned vibes, quick and friendly service, awesome location. I'm a sucker for classic eggs, bacon, and hash browns. This place nailed it, flew into LAX with time to kill, needed breakfast, glad I found this spot. It's definitely not your upscale LA,more aesthetic than yummy, plant based avocado joint LOL Awesome price point for the area as well! note: outdoor seating only, discount if you pay with cash!
google avatar

Anya F.

Yelp
Only outdoor patio seating. It's nice on a warm day but don't come here when it's windy. Ceviche was delicious. Cali omelet was fluffy and fresh. Food is overpriced. The water they give you is tap. Service is slow. You have to pay for parking.
google avatar

Arlene V.

Yelp
Food was great. Nice little outdoor spot with nice views. Service was great. Very hospitable.
google avatar

Shauna S.

Yelp
Came for lunch around 2pm on a Sunday. No wait and plenty of seating. We got seated at probably the best table outside - the corner facing the ocean. Very fun to eat lunch while people watching. I ordered the Felipe Omelet. Everything was cooked perfectly. Hash browns were nicely crispy. Loved how hearty the omelet was stuffed with chunks of chicken & veggies. My bf got the 3 eggs with Meat (he chose bacon). He had no complaints and for $13.50, it's super affordable considering the location. Mine was on the pricier end at $18.50, but with all the ingredients in the omelet, it was justifiable to me. Would recommend to anyone looking for a laid-back breakfast/lunch cafe & relatively affordable prices.
google avatar

Kirit S.

Yelp
I wanted a place where I could admire the Pacific Ocean, satiate my breakfast appetite, and get some work done on my laptop. This place isn't huge, but it has plenty of seating for maybe 15-20 people, outdoors, and overlooking the ocean. They have power outlets for patrons to plug in their devices, and a pretty good selection of teas/coffees, and food. I had some Mexican food, and it was very tasty. The staff was very helpful, and quite attentive. I spent a couple of hours here before I had to leave, but that was an amazing two hours. I hope I can re-visit sometime again.
google avatar

Vanessa R.

Yelp
It was a little difficult finding the restaurant because the entrance is hidden and cozied in on the side of another restaurant. Seating was available when we arrived (1ish pm on a saturday). We ordered 2 plates: (1) a ham and cheese omelette w/ hash browns, (2) waffles w/ scrambled eggs, hash & sausage Very delicious & the house-made salsa was delightful!! We also ordered a macchiato and vanilla latte, not as exciting. Being on the beach was probably the most wonderful part of the experience.
google avatar

Miriam B.

Yelp
Was looking forward to having a nice Sunday brunch here. it's supposed to be dog friendly but because our dog looks more "menacing" they asked us to move so she doesn't "bite" other dogs. Which is profiling, our corso is very friendly. What's to say the poodle near us would bite our dog? They didn't ask any other dogs to be moved. Not to mention the location is extremely small, where were we supposed to move. And because we chose to speak up the waitress grabbed our coffee and suggested we left.
google avatar

Jailyn B.

Yelp
Very horrible and not dog friendly and tight spaced. The server assumed that my dog was going to bite other dogs because she's a big dog. Told us to move our dogs and we told her we could not because it was a tight space we can barely fit and she got offended and caught an attitude and took our coffees away and told us we can leave.

Yelp
Wanted to hit a brunch spot in Manhattan Beach and this did the trick. You could almost miss it because of the overwhelming crowds at the pancake shops next door, but this had a much more intimate, breezy feel than the chaos of its neighboring establishment. The food was a mix of Mexican, Mediterranean, and American. The place felt family run which I liked. We waited about 20-25 mins after putting our names down for a two top, but eventually got seated (to be expected - it was brunch time on a Sunday). All seating is outdoors but they had a bunch of umbrellas to shade you from the midday sun. They served Lavazza coffee and everything looked good on the menu. I went with the chilaquiles verdes and y'all, that verde sauce was GOOD. My husband got the Baja burrito and said it was also delicious. He also got some house salsa on the side which he liked. The waffle wasn't as crunchy as I was hoping it would be (it had more of a chewy texture), but still a tasty sweet ending to our otherwise savory meal. TIP: there's one single bathroom inside that you have to walk past the tiny kitchen to get to, so you may have to wait a sec to use it. Show your admiration and appreciation for the kitchen staff/cooks as you walk by, though; they were working hard and it was hot as hell in there!
