Ocean View Pizzaria

This is a small pizza restaurant with a large variety of options. In addition to pizza, they serve subs and have amazing, large cookies for sale. I think the pizza was reasonably priced, for the location. We ordered a large for 24.50, which was enough for the five of us to have two slices each. The staff working when we went were so friendly and super helpful. They only offer take out options right now but the gentleman working told us about a local park just a few minutes up the road where we sat outside and ate.

It's a take out only restaurant. No seating. Food has veg options. Pizza was good not amazing. No complaints. Their pesto pinwheels were super tasty.

Wow I didn’t get to eat pizza but the white chocolate Mac nut cookie and macadamia pie bar is so so so good!!! The best cookies and pie I had in Hawaii!! The owner let my daughter use the bathroom so I bought the dessert but I literally want to drive one hour to get the dessert again.

Pizza was ready in 20min. This is a take out location with not tables to sit down at. Supreme pizza was good. The sauce had nice flavoring and the crust was traditional. Their baked goods looked good and next time we will try their hot sandwiches.

Take out only. Cash only. That said, the food was freshly made with great care. The staff are friendly and helpful.

Hawaiian Pizza in Hawaii! Loved the crust. Very flakey and not too hard. They also have delicious sandwiches and giant cookies that depend to be bought. Got blueberry white chocolate and mango white chocolate.

This is a to-go place, no seating. The food is good but it takes a while to get it. There was a 10 minute wait to get two chef salads.

Came across this little pizza place during a round the island trip with some friends. Food: Ordered a basic cheese pizza and it was everything you would expect. We called the order in early so it was hot and fresh when we got there. We were also surprised at their assortment of giant cookies which were also delicious. Atmosphere: It's a small old town Hawaii Pizzaria and very typical Hawaii kine decorations. Small area for pick up which is understandable during COVID. When you walk in, you can see their big pizza oven which is great and authentic. They also have their cookies displayed in big glass cookie jars and each is individually wrapped. Service: Nice and quick for both the phone order and the pick up. No complaints.

Good food and friendly staff. The prices are a bit on the higher end but this is rural Hawaii

OV pizza sells em' buy the slice which is so freaking clutch on your way too or from down south! Reasonably priced, quick service, friendly, right next to gas, grocery, pretty much everything the little town has to offer Good vibes everytime I've stopped for grinds and make it a point to whenever I'm in the area. Good for all ages! Ono spot for quick zza' fix! Mahalo fam!

Good Is very good quality flavorful, and plentiful. The service is always friendly and they remember their regulars! However the price is a big out of range, but they have no competition so they can charge whatever they want and they do. Always over a hundred for an Ohana 4+ ours (8) is well over $200. Awesome food! We arrived later in the evening and didn't know what to expect. Can order in shop or call ahead to pick up. We ordered in shop and walked around the plaza while we waited. We order a half Hawaiian / half Supreme pizza - very delicious! Cute little hole in the wall shop - highly recommend!

Great pizza and always fun specials. Great crew/staff. Highly recommend them when you are down there regardless of it being one of the few spots. It's freaking amazing!

Half of my friends wanted to try this place out when we were going around the island while the other half went to try the Thai food. Might as well stop at both places! It's located next to Rancho Ace Hardware in a small plaza area across of the Ocean View Market. There's a parking lot with many stalls. The shop itself is relatively small and mainly a takeout place. My friends got a cheese and pepperoni pizza and a bunch of cookies that were as big, if not, bigger than our faces! They offered a variety of flavors but we got the chocolate chip and brownie ones. They were flat but huge! The pizza came out freshly baked, smelling really delicious. I love pizza that has enough cheese that stretches after that first bite. This was that kind of pizza! One bite into the pizza and cheesiness, spices and flavor fills the mouth. I'm not a big pizza fan, but I definitely enjoyed the few bites I stole off my friends. The brownie cookie (not a brookie, tho) was delicious too! My friends didn't care too much about the chocolate chip (never tried it). If you're in the area and want a simple pizza with loootd of cheese, this is your place. Not craving pizza? They also sell specials outside of pizza!

Zero Stars I'm sorry that was the worst Pizza I have ever encountered in my life there's maybe one piece of pepperoni on the pepperoni it was just nasty and I was not cheap. I can't even finish it .

We tried the new Italian hoagie and the chicken bacon on a sesame bun. The hoagie was better. It would be even better if it were heated up. I did not Ike the chicken because it's one of those mashed up chicken meat and mushed together into a patty and breaded. The bread on the hoagie was good. Service was so-so. You can tell they work hard their but they'd rather be at the beach. Ambiance was a little crowded, cluttered and disorganized. There is not many other choices in Oceanview so we will be back to try many other items on their menu.

Really yummy! Excellent crust and sauce and the right proportion of sauce to cheese. No seating inside though.

Staff is always super nice and helpful. There isn't much to eat past 6pm where we live so this is our go -to every friday. Good pizzas, LOVE their sandwiches, and good desserts too!

Food is so good, a little expensive but that's what you get all the way down in Ka'u. The cheesy garlic bread with marinara is only 12 bucks and is definitely a meal for one and super good if you're low on money

I loved this place. This was our food stop on the way to the south and we weren't too optimistic, but this small pizzeria exceeded our expectations. The owners/managers were very friendly. The pizza was delicious, one of the better pizzas we ate on Big Island. You can either get the full pizza or get it by the slice. They also have some soup, etc. options which they seemed to prepare fresh in low quantities. As we waited for our pizza, we saw at least 10-15 more customers dropping by for pick up. As a tourist, not having dine in is one issue here, but you can buy a pizza and eat it in your car. Overall, highly recommended.

Talk about a hidden gem in the middle of nowhere. This place serves great pizzas for a reasonable price. Great serving slices or as a whole pizza. Another great thing to look for is the cookies! They are so delicious and come in variety of flavors. I am always needing to stop by for a cookie when in the area. Helpful tip is to call ahead so by the time you get to Ocean View your pizza is ready. Not to long of a wait for your pizza order.

Visited October 2020 - stopped here on our way back to Kona from Hilo side. It was the perfect way to end our day. We got the pupu pizza with jalapeños - it came with a marinara dipping sauce. It was delicious and the best pizza we had on the island during our 2 week trip. The most impressive thing for us though was the person behind the counter who took our order. She was so nice and accommodating. She 1. slid our order to the top (there were few other orders that had come in before we got there and there was a 45min wait at the time) and 2. brought the pizza out to our car when it was ready. We would have been more than happy to wait outside and come back in when it was ready but we so appreciated her bringing it to us after a long day!

Aloha! Pizza was ok. Customer service was ace. Come here for a craving that you're trying to fill. My friend got two slices-- each for $3.50. It was extra per topping and slices are about the size of a woman's hand. Pricing was okay for quality of pizza. Could be better but not much competition. Customer service was amazing. Was about to close and they filled our order. 10/10 Might come back but probably won't. You should try it at least once if you're close and hungry! :) Always honest, Cherie

Happened upon this small eatery by chance when looking for another takeout in the same area. The place doesnt look like much on the outside; a hole in the wall, near the Ace Hardware store. Service was very good - friendly staff. My husband LOVED his 2 pizza slices - (larger than the average slice) cheese with portugese sausage and the other slice was cheese with italian sausage. I had the shrimp pesto sub - was supposed to have spinach in it, but they didnt have spinach instead offered either lettuce or sprouts. I was looking forward to spinach; but, no big deal. The sourdough bread was tasty; what I loved that the sandwich bread wasnt thick and "bready." So good!!! We also purchased their homemade pecan pie bar, lemon bar, and large snickerdoodle cookie!!! All excellent - not too sweet - best tasting! We are very glad we discovered this takeout place. Worth the stop on the way south or north.

Yummy! I ordered the pizza sandwich which was delicious and well made. The bread was fresh and toasty, the cheese was good and just the right amount, the sauce was good, and my toppings were good too- Italian sausage and jalapeño. I stayed in the Kona area during my stay in Hawaii and unfortunately couldn't find good food anywhere. We found this place kinda in the middle of nowhere on the way to Punalu'u Black Sand Beach which is like an hr away from Kona. Go here if you're in the area. Other places won't be good, trust me.

Don't bother with this place. Ordered two overpriced meatball subs, gave them 45 minutes to slap it together and heat it, only to return to find they had not even been made yet nevermind heated in the oven. Inexcusable! Time is money and your money is worth more than anything they serve. Avoid. Go to DJ's Pizza in Ocean View Plaza. Still expensive WAY better service.

I was Yelping to see where we can have lunch, and have seen good reviews, okay, we came and Bug was really helpful with all questions that I have and pizza was great! Mahalo!

Ohmygosh! The food was so good. We got pastrami sandwich and pizzas. Everything was delicious! They are a takeout place - so have a plan for where you plan to eat. Enjoy!

Was the only one here today. After 20 mins of waiting for slices of pizza I asked how it's going and a guy was just putting the pizza in the oven. Not cool at all. It took 20 mins to put the slices in the oven. He said he "had to make it fresh". Took 35 mins to get slices.

The pizza is good but the sandwiches are better!! My husband got me hooked on the hot pastrami but the French dip is my go to. Both amazing and the people working there are always nice and helpful on the phone.

If you are in the area, have some very tasty pizza. It's not cheap, but really well done- great tasting, lots of cheese, great crust & sauce. We got Pepperoni & Italian sausage with green peppers and mushrooms- thick with toppings and amazing. Also the side garden salad to go was packed into a clear clam shell but had sooo much salad when moved to 2 plates at home. They also have daily specials (cheese bread & enchiladas are the things I remember seeing on the board but several items) and giant cookies - I think 6 or so different flavors. There's room to eat in or take out. Drinks in a cooler case.

We've gotten pizza twice here and it has been delicious both times! We really like how quick they are and how yummy their ingredients are.

About a 3.5 star for the pizza. We got some pizza after a day of hiking and beaches. The pizza was good, but definitely on the pricy side compared to chains or gourmet pizzerias. Perhaps it would have tasted better fresh. We had to drive 30 min away to get to our airbnb. service though was five star. The place does not look fancy, but the lady at the register was super nice and accommodating to my order.

Love the Pizzaria. Great sandwiches.... Pizza.... Salads. The pizza prices seem high at first. But well worth having a good pizza out in ocean view. Just dont get to go as often as wud like.... Due to prices. And they close so early. Hard to get there in time after work. Delicious, casual, comfortable stop

Love this place. For being so small they really have a lot of amazing food. The subs are some of the best on the island, and the desserts are unreal. Sometimes the wait can be a bit long, but it's good pizza in a place with few options and a lot of hungry people. Check out their specials as well, as the woman, who I believe is the owner, is a legendary cook and baker. Mac nut bars are the best on the island! Also they have a pretty good selections of vegetarian options.

Since ocean view hardly has any places to eat out we decided we wanted pizza. This pizza has a good base tomato sauce for their pizza and very tasty with their own style. The pizza crust is soft but perfect. Also pricey!!Customer service is very friendly and nice and they also have subs and salads.

Great pizza! Great service and great deal! When I called I got a buy one get one half off for pizzas. Delicious pizza. This is our family's favorite pizza place in Oceanview hands down. Cookies are good too. Trust me- come here above other spots.

They have really good sandwiches and they make their bread fresh daily not many places can say that. The pizza is pretty good and wait time is good also.

I've eaten at Ocean View Pizzaria a hand full of times over the last eight years. The service is always friendly, and quick. Over the years the prices have kept me from being a frequent visitor. After dining I always find myself feeling that I didn't get full value for my money. However, eating options I n OV are limited so you work with what's available. I usually stick with a cheese slice or pizza, as topping prices are a little on the high side. The crust is quite tasty, and on the thick side. I made a recent visit because I was craving spaghetti. They only offer spaghetti with meatballs. Unfortunately, the meatballs and sauce are frozen together. So, I opted to try it anyway. I gave the meatballs to my BF who said they were a little bland. I was a bit disappointed in the sauce and spaghetti. It had that microwave feel. My BF had the veggie patty melt was suitable, but nothing impressive. I would say stick to the pizza, and you'll have a good experience. My favorite part of OV Pizzaria is the video game in back, and the cookies the size of your head. The cookies are huge, tasty, and the best value.

If you are looking for ambiance, this is not the restaurant for you. If you are hungry after a day at the volcano, this is the perfect spot to grab a bite on your way back to Kona. We absolutely loved this pizza. The ingredients were super fresh and there were lots of them. The crust was also super fresh tasting. Nothing fancy, just good pizza. For a hole in the wall, this restaurant also seemed to be popular with locals. The phone rang at least 3-4 times for take out while I waited for the pizza to cook. They were making them as fast as they could in the back. The service was quirky and great, just exactly what you would expect from a local pizza joint.

This place was truly a hidden gem. We decided to stop by this place since there were not many places to eat in that area. It was a little difficult to find this place, but there it was, tucked in the corner in a tiny shopping complex. We built our own large vegetarian pizza, and it took them about half an hour to prepare the pizza since they made it from scratch. They have a small dining area in the next room, where we waited for the pizza. That was the best pizza I had in a long time. The tomato sauce was different and really good, and the crust was prefect too - not too chewy or hard. Sure, the pizza didn't hold up well (cheese kept sliding off of the slices), but I didn't mind getting a little messy as the pizza was quite delicious. We inhaled our pizza quickly despite it being piping hot. My husband loved his chicken sub too. It's a small family-owned place and it is a good place to visit if you are looking to eat in that area.

Sooooo good! We went and grabbed a large with 5 toppings (pepperoni, Italian sausage, bell peppers, mushrooms, and onions) after visiting South Point and between me and my dad, it almost didn't even make it home lol Yeah, it's a little pricey but totally worth it and definitely the best pizza in Ka'u!

I am rounding up a bit on this review as the pizza was surprisingly good (well made crust, tangy sauce) and the staff was friendly and helpful. We ate at the store, which could do with a good cleaning and decluttering effort.

Best Pizza on the island hands down. We drive from Waikoloa every time we visit the island to get our pie craving filled. You won't be sorry!

Soo glad this Pizzaria is still an option during the Coronavirus Pandemic. I usually call in for one slice of pizza but unfortunately one slice is not enough! I've been eatting their pizza for about 5-6 years now. At times the flavor of the sauce, or crust may taste adjusted compared to your previous purchase. Recently their pizza has been reminding me of Costco pizza; Flavorful, extremely generous slices, sauce isnt too spicy, and the best part is when the crust has a fluff to it but yet a light crunch (I'd rather pay the price than drive 50 miles to get a costco pizza). Overall, the staff at Ocean View Pizzaria are extremely friendly and courteous. My only suggestion is to keep consistent with the toppings or in general the food item itself; for instance I ordered a Large Pepperoni pizza with extra cheese. My first order didnt have much extra cheese on it, it tasted like a regular pepperoni cheese pizza that I paid an extra topping for.. But the second time I ordered a Large pepperoni pizza with extra cheese, they did exactly what I asked:D My pizza was generously topped with EXTRA cheese! I wouldnt complain with an extra cost for the extra topping. I will always be a return customer knowing that my food will constantly meet its expectation or taste amazingly great, as it did the previous time. I think the same guy "Bug" is still working there.. when he is, the food always taste the BEST!

Just bad. One star for the friendliness. Truly nice staff. Pizza was bland, crust gummy, sauce tasted canned. Sandwich meat was supposed to be pastrami. Couldn't tell what it was. I hate giving a bad review, but in two trips to the Big Island this is the worst food on the island.

Best pizza I have had in years! Tempted every time I go to the hardware store, but usually opt for their tuna salad instead, which is also really good. Friendly fast service every time I go there. For pizza, there is nowhere better south of Kona or Hilo, and equal to the best.
