Statia: The Smallest Island in the Caribbean Is Also the Most Pristine
"This local favorite sits in the courtyard of the Government House in historic Oranjestad, with a terrace overlooking Fort Oranje and the ocean. “The atmosphere is nice, and the host is friendly—he’s always cracking bad jokes,” says local Lucinda Redan, a school teacher on the island. “You get a lot of food for your money, and it’s fresh.”" - Jeannette Cooperman
We just had drinks and sat at a table for a little while and enjoyed the view. The owner was very nice, so we had a second round. Statia is very small and doesn't have some of the conveniences as some other islands. Ocean View was a nice place to go. We didn't have food, so I cant rate the food.

Went here twice. I got the goat and the fish in garlic, really good food. Great service and location. A must try when you’re on the island. They have croquettes too.

Great food at a reasonable price. Staff were great and worked their socks off to get the food to us quickly. Perfect place to enjoy the sea breeze

We really enjoyed our lunch here. Great views, nice breeze and friendly service. The curried chicken was a little dry but very tasty and the goat dish quite good. The scalloped potatoes were delicious! The juices stood out - I had the Mauby and my partner had the hibiscus - both were excellent. Best of all the portion sizes were generous and the prices fair. We'll be back!

What can I say? When Rene serves you himself, and makes the freshest and best hamburger in the Caribbean, you have to a rave about it. Truly, even tel him 24 hours before and he will get working on the ground beef!

Nice place, in the center of town. Good food, great service by owner himself. Serves local and international dishes. Great harbor view. Frequented by locals and tourists alike. Opens for lunch and dinner on weekdays and dinner on Saturdays. Closed on Sundays.
