We had a wonderful 15 night stay here in a beach sea view room, exploring the North. Had a very warm, friendly welcome upon arrival from sangeeta and were allowed to check in early. Room was perfect, so clean, comfortable and the view,beautiful. Great to have private pool too.||All the staff work so hard and despite the communal areas looking in need of some TLC, it's a great hotel. Choice and quality of food amazing and definitely recommend.

We experienced very poor hospitality at the reception, where we waited almost one hour before being given our rooms. The rooms were poorly maintained, with dust everywhere, and many structures were visibly rusted, which is unacceptable for an establishment of this standard. We also felt that Mauritian clients were treated as if they were unwanted, which is deeply disappointing and concerning. Hospitality at the restaurant was equally poor. The F&B managers and the cashier displayed rude and unprofessional behavior. Despite making a complaint on the day of our stay, no action was taken, showing a clear lack of concern from management. Overall, this experience reflects a serious lack of compassion and respect toward Mauritian clients.

The room conditions were unacceptable. Insects and lizards would enter freely, as the bedroom and bathroom windows were poorly fitted and remained partially open. Closing them was a struggle due to faulty mechanisms. The reception was shockingly closed from 8:30 PM until sometime in the morning — a serious lapse for any hotel. Even budget one-star hotels maintain basic reception coverage overnight. To make matters worse, the receptionist was unaware of the hotel’s own email address, making communication unnecessarily difficult. There was no assistance with luggage at either check-in or check-out, which is highly inconvenient for guests. Internet connectivity was extremely poor. The Wi-Fi was painfully slow and only worked in the reception area, forcing guests to carry their laptops and phones there to get online. Breakfast offerings were repetitive, with little variety from day to day. The only positive dining experience was that dinner featured a different cuisine each evening. From the very first day, the receptionist insisted that the city tax be paid, repeatedly reminding me over the three-day stay. A day before checkout, a bill was placed in my room despite my clear communication that I would settle it upon departure. The overall service quality needs substantial improvement. I sincerely hope management addresses these recurring issues to provide guests with a more comfortable and professional experience.

Really enjoyed my overnight stay at ocean villas hotel (half board). Affordable. Delicious food and relaxing atmosphere. I watched a movie in the evening and the room was relaxing. I particularly liked the walk in shower. I also liked the clean outdoor shower by the beach. My ABSOLUTE FAVOURITE THING about ocean villas is the incredible Balinese massage. I felt my stress melt away. Also best price that I’ve come across in the area. In terms of things that could have been better: - the mosquitos in the garden were eating me aliiiive :( - the pool was not clean and the jacuzzi was not working - better dinner options for picky eaters

We spent two nights at Ocean Villas last week. We were a group of 11 people – family and friends, and booked five rooms (garden and sea view).|I am physically handicapped and on wheel chair. The room has been renovated recently I guess. It is quite spacious and I could easily move around in my chair. It is well equipped: Minibar, TV, safe, tea and coffee. The room allocated to me was not specially adapted for a handicap person, no handle bar in the toilet, bathtub and shower. No chair or sitting facility in the shower cabin, but that was not a big issue; I requested for a plastic chair around 06hrs30 in the morning and it was promptly delivered. The room was cleaned and towels changed daily. |The food and service was up to what we expected for this category of resort. The restaurant is open and quite windy and it is cold during this period of the year. Blinds or any other alternatives will be most welcome. Our requests for some vegetarian dishes were met without delays. Thank you Mr Gaetan for making seating arrangements, Axel for his smile and anticipating my special requests and another young lady, whom I did not pick up the name, who was constantly around serving and attending on us. |I booked the Balinese 60mins massage, done by Monica, the charming therapist from the Spa. Whoa! That was professionally done and relaxing. Thank you.|We checked out on Sunday. Sangeeta granted us two rooms for a check out till 15hrs which was to our convenience.|Overall we had some great time at Ocean Villas. We will definitely go back, this time in summer ☺.

The rooms were decent, and the staff was friendly and courteous. The breakfast buffet is a major letdown with very limited options, and with very few alternatives for vegetarians. There is no room service, and on Sundays, the restaurant only serves buffets on Sunday nights and no ala carte options.

Overall, I am quite satisfied with the hotel. It's important to understand that this is a three-star property, and it truly lives up to that rating. Don't expect anything more than what is offered here. I would say this hotel is more of a club-style accommodation, making it especially suitable for the Mauritian summer, as the weather here can be quite windy and even a bit cool at times. The service is excellent, with very attentive and responsive staff. The breakfast and dinner buffets are diverse and delicious, featuring a wide selection of dishes tailored to European tourists. The hotel is not new, and some renovation work is ongoing in certain areas. The beach is small but well-equipped and atmospheric. Upon entering the sea, there are some stones at first, but then you can swim comfortably. Overall, I enjoyed my stay very much; however, I would appreciate better cleaning in the rooms and some renovations to update the rooms' interiors.

Review for Hotel Ocean Villas, Grand Bay, Mauritius ⭐☆☆☆☆ A deeply disappointing and poorly managed property. The hotel fails on nearly every basic aspect of guest care: Housekeeping: Rooms were left uncleaned; sand remained on the floor day after day. Food crumbs from two days prior were never cleared. Absolutely unacceptable. Supplies: No daily bottled water, tea, coffee, or creamer replenished. Repeatedly ignored. Food: Shockingly average. Could not even make a simple omelette without being instructed. Tea service was careless, despite the many Indian guests who expect it. Communication: As a guest, I was never informed about the Sunday boat ride and snorkeling service (MUR 1000). Finding out afterward was frustrating and unprofessional. For a hotel in such a prime location, this level of neglect is inexcusable. Cleanliness, food quality, basic amenities, and guest communication are all consistently mishandled. Do not expect a satisfactory stay here.
