"Near the Passage Pommeraye and the Théâtre Graslin, the four-star Oceania Hôtel de France offers historic character in the heart of Nantes. Housed in an 18th-century former town house, the 72-room hotel was entirely renovated in 2014 to include contemporary touches like a larger lobby, design-focused guest rooms, and a light, airy breakfast space. Be sure to book a room with a terrace for lovely views of Place Graslin, and make time to walk the Green Line, a 7.5-mile trail that goes right in front of the hotel and connects all of Nantes’s main attractions. When you’re done exploring, head to the hotel’s fifth-floor terrace, where you can watch the city bustle from above."
I stayed here with my husband one Sunday in June before we flew home. The hotel is centrally located in what felt like a very safe area on a shopping street. A short walk to the trams for travelling further afield. We had no issue with noise even though our window faced the street. You can hear a bit of the city hustle and bustle during the day but mostly pedestrian and it was practically silent at night. Staff were very friendly and polite and we had a speedy check in, with staff offering to switch to speaking English although this wasn’t needed for us. Later we were quickly brought more pillows when asked. Our room was small (expected because that’s what we booked), spotless and nicely furnished. The only thing which struck me as a bit odd was the shower and sink cubicle not being fully enclosed (open at the top) and the walls being made of lightly frosted glass. I assume not all rooms are the same….A little tricky if you need privacy from your room buddy, but was totally fine for us as a couple. Didn’t have breakfast so can’t comment on that. Perfect for a short city stay would definitely stay again if visiting Nantes.

We’ve just checked in at Oceania, and honestly — what a fantastic choice for our short trip to France! The location couldn’t be more perfect or central and the staff have been nothing short of brilliant.||||A special mention goes to Anthony (apologies if I’ve spelled your name wrong) — he not only made our check-in smooth and welcoming, but also pointed out the best local attractions. Later, he served us at the bar with an impressive knowledge of wine, making the experience even better.||||I couldn’t recommend this hotel more for anyone visiting Nantes!

Didn't have body lotion in the hotel room but otherwise it was very nice. Liked the option to open windows and had AC. Staff was friendly and quick to help, wonderful location and the decor was a total vibe. Eggs a little undercooked at breakfast but the coffee was good

Good hotel, helpful and friendly staff, clean and comfortable beds. Breakfasts were plentiful with lots of food choices. My main complaints are that the website makes no mention that the room has tea/ coffee making facilities. Only paper cups for these hot liquids can be hazardous. If you are an English tea lover, it’s advisable to bring your own teabags as they ran out during my stay.

5 stars for the service in this hotel. The staff is super nice, welcoming, helpful and available. Special thanks to Simon & Manon for their kindness.
Location wise, it is the best as everything interesting is walking distance.
I also likes the breakfast who had enough variety with good local products.

This hotel is centrally located on a pedestrian street (--so transportation will drop you off and pick you up nearby but with a little walk). The breakfast in the hotel is abundant and varied. But we were puzzled by the high ratings. The room was quite spartan, with a super-firm mattress with one pillow per person only (none in closets). The shower was large and comfy, but had no shelf or other space to put down the conditioner amenity. The toilet paper was a small amount from our arrival, and then not replaced during cleaning even once we were down to the smaller part of a role--we were rationing squares! We were bothered by the modern replicas on the staircase (plugged in from the back) of black men holding lanterns--why buy newer representations of black servitude?! Strangely enough, the wifi password began with the word "Slimy." Overall, it was perfectly adequate, but we were not able to figure out the basis for "9,5" ratings. The climate control was excellent in the room.

Very nice room 107 designed by the artist Justin Weiler. Stylish entrance hall. Staff has been very friendly and professional. Breakfeast very good. Hotel parking lot at no extra fee has been much appreciated. Hotel is nicely situated in the center at the Place Graslin.

I spent my birthday in Nantes and loved this hotel. Our room was on the top floor in the corner and had a wonderful view of the Place Graslin. The staff were friendly, helpful and very accommodating. They made dinner reservations for us and helped with any directions or information we needed for our stay in Nantes.
The location can't be beat. So close to all the sites, shopping and great restaurants. Being on the edge of the pedestrian zone makes it challenging to get there by car. Call ahead and they will give you a code to enter the area plus directions to the lot right behind their hotel. Once the car is safely parked, everything else can be reached easily on foot and it is a pleasure to explore the city from the hotel's location.
The room itself was quite comfortable and had amazing air conditioning considering how in France that is not always the case. The bed was so comfortable I never wanted to get out of it! Breakfast was wonderful. The typical French breakfast you know and love. I did find a new favorite thing at breakfast which is a local specialty called Le Gateau Nantes. It is the most deliciously moist and decadent rum cake that went great with a strong cup of coffee. I loved the cake so much I ended up buying one on the way out of town to enjoy down the road.
I look forward to my next visit to Nantes and know exactly where I will be staying.
