14 Best Hotels in the Florida Keys, From Private Islands to Beachy Bungalows

"On Stock Island, an active commercial fishing hub east of Key West, lies this 175-key property, which fronts a sprawling marina. It comprises four identical coastal cottage-style buildings of three stories apiece, housing ocean-inspired rooms with balconies or terraces granting marina or mangrove views. The resort occupies a massive 20-acre swath, lush with mature tropical plants and active with bobbing boats at every turn. There's sparkling water everywhere—and that includes six pools on property, around which you’ll find loungers, cornhole, ping pong tables, giant chess, and live music on weekends. At the tiki hut area, discover a calm lagoon for non-motorized watersports and a pick-up/drop-off point for the resort’s complimentary shuttle bus to Duval Street in neighboring Key West (running 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily). It’s a popular choice for those visiting the lower Keys with their own boats—marina spaces can be booked separately via the dock master." - Paul Rubio, Nancy DePalma

Oceans Edge Resort & Marina

"Give us an overview of this place. Down a residential road on Stock Island you reach the entrance to Oceans Edge, which fronts canals and a marina on the island just next to Key West. It's lush with tropical plants and palms, and has a bit of a residential feel too, with Key West cottage-style buildings (three stories, so not towers) that could just as easily be homes as a hotel. There's sparkling water everywhere and bobbing boats at every turn. What's the backstory? The property is located on Stock Island, so it's a bit removed from the Key West crowds but still just a 10-minute free shuttle drive to Duval Street. The resort occupies a manicured 20-acre swath and is the biggest player on the island. It attracts people who know that the best thing about the Keys is getting out on the water surrounding them to fish, snorkel, sail, and dive—and having your boat parked right in front of your room is a huge perk. Tell us all about the accommodations. Any tips on what to book? The rooms evoke Florida style with tropical paintings and prints. The rooms mix preppy and modern—think Palm Beach meets South Beach. Is there a charge for Wi-Fi? Wi-Fi is free and fast. Drinking and dining—what are we looking at? The restaurant, Yellowfin Bar & Kitchen, is very Tommy Bahama in appearance. It's an open-air affair with a big long bar, fishing photos, and an outdoor dining area within a few steps of the dock/marina. It's not a fancy place, but hardly a dive either—it's pretty come as you are, straight off the boat or from the pool. The menu is classic Florida Keys, with things like blackened shrimp salad, ribs, fish tacos, watermelon feta salad, and jerk chicken sandwiches on the menu. And the service? Service is good. Efficient. Casual. The hotel really has more of the feel of a vacation rental condo. Chances are the only times you'll visit the lobby is for check-in and check-out as it's in its own building attached to the restaurant. What type of travelers will you find here? Lots of anglers and their ilk here—salt life people who came to boat and be on the water more than in their bedrooms. They're talking about what's biting, visibility conditions for scuba diving, and storm patterns. What about the neighborhood? What else is around here? The surrounding neighborhood is an RV park with humble fisherman homes with lobster and stone crab traps out front. The property is gated and doesn't really try to be a part of the residential surrounds. There's a regular free shuttle from the resort to bring guests to Key West and also bikes you can use, on the house. They also throw in free SUP rentals during your stay to paddle around the surrounding marina and lagoon. Any other hotel features worth noting? A great spot for takeaway eats near the resort is Yahman's Authentic Jamaican Jerk Shack, which does great ribs and jerk sandwiches you can sit outside to eat or bring back to your room's balcony to enjoy. They also offer free paddle boarding, kayaking, and bikes to guests. Also, when fishermen are in the marina cleaning their catches you can watch giant tarpon hanging out under the boats waiting for a snack. Bottom line: Worth it? Why? It is—especially if you have your own boat. You pay extra to keep it here, but there's 24-hour security, and you can’t beat having your boat at the ready." - Terry Ward

I had the pleasure of being a guest at Ocean's Edge Resort. Reception was a breeze and the front desk staff during check-in were wonderful. The room was clean and spacious with a great view of the marina. The restaurant on site was terrific. The staff were welcoming super pleasant and efficient. If I could give this resort more than 5 stars I would.

Had a lovely suite and it was amazing. It was clean, comfortable and literally huge. The staff at every point was there to please you with a smile on their face or in their voice. Anything/anytime, just ask. Plenty of great activities. Even with others coming and going, it was never over packed. Plus with 6 pools, you could meet people or get away as you desired. Yoga every other day (which we don't normally do) but it was a great way to start our days. Did something different every day. Thought the restaurant was a bit over priced for what it was, especially with a short shuttle ride to Key West and all the restaurants you could ever want. But only had a breakfast there and it was great but we could of had filet and lobster for the price of an omelet and eggs Benedict. Just a little shocked. Other than that near perfection.

We love this place. This was our second time to stay @ Oceans Edge and it was wonderful. It’s a beautiful place, great staff and service, and the beds are crazy comfortable!! Ana at the front desk was super friendly and welcoming, and she gave us lots of info about all the resort offers. Our only small issue was a sewage smell - only in the bathroom - that my adult kids also smelled in their room. It wasn’t bad enough that we couldn’t stay, and it was only occasionally. But I did let them know and they said they’d definitely check it out. Thank you, Ana! We’ll be back!!!

Google
Everything was perfect. My niece has her wedding here and the staff, location, accommodations were all amazing. Free shuttle every hour that takes you to downtown Key West and picks you up. Paddle board, Kayak, and bike rental on site. Lots of iguanas, geckos, nurse sharks, tarpon, and many other fish that were so fun to see right at the marina. 6 pools with cold water stations conveniently located by each one. It was an absolutely beautiful weekend and would definitely recommend!! They accommodated our large family (60+) for the wedding and it was a great weekend.

Google
Oceans Edge is a top notch resort with beautiful views, a clean atmosphere, and excellent customer service. From the moment we checked in, we felt very welcome by all of the staff we encountered. The shuttle service was extremely convenient and saved us lots of money in Uber fees, as we traveled back and forth to the downtown area each day of our trip. Jeffrey one of the bus drivers was amazing and very knowledgeable of the area and the history. Our room in building 4 was very quiet, relaxed, and cleaned very well. We enjoyed the six different pools on the property and the free concierge service. Richard from the concierge was very helpful, and even provided his number to text him for future bookings during our stay, which was convenient. We booked two excursions with him without an problems. The only downside is how far the resort was from the downtown area, about 25 minutes. However, the free shuttle and all of the other amenities at the resort made it well worth the stay. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and I would definitely recommend it to others.

Google
Avoid This Place – Overpriced and Underwhelming I strongly recommend not booking this facility. It markets itself as a resort, but in reality, it offers very little while charging premium prices. If you’ve traveled even a bit, you’ll immediately notice the lack of quality and service here. Let’s start with the basics: the rooms have no mosquito protection—despite the obvious mosquito problem. You’re expected to purchase repellents or coils yourself, which is shocking considering this is supposed to be a resort. Most places would offer that as a basic courtesy. The food is another disappointment. The menu is extremely limited and overpriced, especially compared to the much better and more affordable options just 10 minutes away in town. I found the food quality and pricing to be incredibly frustrating. Our first night, the air conditioning stopped working around midnight. When we informed the staff, the initial reaction was to blame us—saying the door must be closed for the AC to work. Obviously, it was closed. We didn’t want to invite in the swarms of mosquitoes outside. Eventually, staff checked and confirmed the AC had failed. For the inconvenience, we were given two breakfast vouchers—only to discover they only covered three small items each. Things didn’t improve. On the second and third nights (after paying for an upgrade to a suite—not a complimentary one), we had issues with the toilet being clogged. We had to call maintenance repeatedly, including when waste started backing up. And for that lovely experience? Free parking. A joke, honestly. Also be aware: you’ll be hit with three separate taxes not shown upfront on booking platforms. Parking is also charged separately, which should be included in any legitimate resort fee. All in all, this place is overpriced, poorly managed, and far from what a real resort experience should be. I do not recommend staying here. There are much better options for the same or even lower cost. The only nice thing is the room space and the view.

Google
We had a fantastic stay! The room was spacious and clean, with a beautiful partial ocean view overlooking the pool and marina. The complimentary shuttle to Duval Street was super convenient no need to worry about parking. We also did a mangrove kayak tour with Andrew and Elaine, and it was a highlight of the trip! Andrew was an incredible guide knowledgeable, engaging, and passionate about the mangrove ecosystem. He even pointed out nurse sharks and jellyfish along the way! We would absolutely stay at this resort again.

We just got back from an amazing stay at Marina Resort in Key West, Florida, and couldn’t be happier with our experience. From the start, the resort had a warm, friendly atmosphere that instantly made us feel welcome. The staff were outstanding—always friendly, attentive, and ready to help with anything we needed. Their focus on making our stay enjoyable and stress-free really stood out, and you could tell they take pride in every detail. One of the highlights was the convenience of the resort's shuttle service, which made getting to Duval Street a breeze. It was so nice to explore all the fun and excitement of downtown without the hassle of driving or parking. Thanks to the great location and helpful tips from the staff, we also got to visit some amazing places nearby, like the Ernest Hemingway Home, the Butterfly Conservatory, the Southernmost Point, the beautiful oceanfront views, and the Key West Garden Club at West Martello Tower. Everything about our stay was relaxing, fun, and memorable—and that’s all thanks to the great team at Marina Resort. We’re already looking forward to coming back!

Yelp
Beautiful place just outside of downtown. Loved the room service everyday will definitely be back

Yelp
Upon completing the online reservation, we called the front desk and requested a room on the upper floor. Upon arrival, we were surprised to learn we would stay in a room on the first floor instead. We were told there was no record of our request (!?!). During checkout, our final bill was way higher than the expected cost (charges) listed on the website. When we pointed out the discrepancy, the answer was that this was due to various fees, including the Destination Fee (!?), Resort Fee (!?), and Parking Fee (!?). According to the explanation offered by the front desk clerk, these extra fees were introduced by a "third party" and listed somewhere in a "small font." That is a typical example of the outrageous practice of Hidden 'Junk' Fees, which this resort does not hesitate to practice. Put differently, it is simply bad business practice and a classic ripoff. There are no other words to describe it.

Yelp
The property is very beautiful however I will NEVER stay here again. First the music is blaring until 10pm at night with people screaming at the pool. The bathroom doesn't have a lock on the door which seems strange. The first night we went to eat at the restaurant and the staff took forever to bring our food. And when my son spilled his drink no one attempted to help us. When we revived the bill we noticed that they automatically add an 18% gratuity which explains why the service was so poor.

Yelp
Great property; room was spacious, clean and quiet, front desk team exceptional, and several pools was icing on the cake

Jessica R.

Yelp
The food was absolutely delicious! The pools are heated so you can swim at hight as well as the day. Nice breeze coming off of the ocean makes it comfortable sitting outside to enjoy dinner. Very close to town but far enough away that it's a quiet escape from the every day town life. I would absolutely stay here again. Days by the pool were very relaxing. Poolside service is available and also the bar & restaurant is right there to get take out as well. All the rooms face the marina/ocean so the views are amazing. Plenty to do onsite if you just want to hang at the resort. The rooms are comfortable and very just as pictured on the site.

Yelp
Had a small problem, Claudia was very helpful and made it right. Also Kevin reached out I appreciate that also. Beautiful place

Yelp
This review is for Jeff, the shuttle driver. He was an excellent chauffeur to and from the hotel. So knowledgeable and the best conversationalist!! I stayed on the shuttle double time for the experience

Yelp
Dear Tom, THANK YOU AND YOUR MANAGEMENT STAFF FOR DOING ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!!!I reached out several times and no reply !! So trying to resolve anything is obviously not going to happen . Lesson learned . If I managed issues the way you do I wouldn't be working long ,

Yelp
While this is not a high end hotel and the prices reflect that , I would expect better service after my Airpods were stolen and I reported it to five different staff members . Not one of which called me back or followed up. We checked out Friday May 17, 2024 and my pods were missing , after tracking them when I got home they pinged back at the hotel. They have bounced back and forth from a Key West address to the Oceans Edge daily. I sent the ping locations to staff members and no one attempted to get my property back Apple has very precise location pings and I have watched my pods move around the hotel for days. Clearly it is not a concern that a dishonest employee is using what belonged to a guest . I am really disappointed and this has soured our entire visit

Joe R.

Yelp
Community pool! It is a nice hotel and a great restaurant, but the locals overwhelm the pool. You will have people that pull up in cars, they get out all the pool toys out of the car , bring their own food and walk into the pool area. They will bring their own music, and turn it up as loud as they like. They Enjoy the day and the pool and go home when done . They do not patrol their pools. We have stayed here numerous times. It is getting worse and worse every year.

Yelp
So funny story, I actually meant to book us at the Casa Marina Resort in Key West and somehow ended up booking here. The place is definitely upscale and pretty, but there's no such thing really as ocean view in my opinion. Our ocean view king suite was mostly a marina view with the ocean peeking through. It was still a gorgeous view, but not what I was expecting. Our check-in experiece was perfect with a friendly staff person and they even gave us our room early (11:30am) instead of making us wait until 4pm. (But later we realized there was an oversight...) But there were a few minor glitches during our stay, which while not such a big deal in and of themselves, were annoying at this price point. The AC cannot be controlled from your room so if you're not happy with the temperature they preset, engineering has to come adjust it. Also, the screen for the AC stays lit up all night like a beacon, which if you're a light sleeper like me, will definitely keep you up at night. Also, we paid for late check-out in advance, but still ended up locked out of our room at 11am. Evidently the check-in person neglected to tell us you have to get updated keys because they can't preprogram your keys for a different check out time. Also, it was evident the resort was extremely short staffed, which considering it was the weekend before 4th of July, did not bode well for anyone staying for longer than the one night we spent. They have 6 pools, 3 of which tend to be quieter and 3 which tend to be rowdier. The pool closest to us (quiet) was often out of towels and water and the wait at the bar was ridiculous. The poolside service was excellent if slow, due to understaffing at the hotel. The food served poolside and the breakfast we had at the restaurant on site was excellent. Both evidenced high quality ingredients and excellent preparation. I had a chicken ceasar wrap for lunch and the breakfast burrito and both were delicious. My wife had a tuna poke bowl and the avocado toast, which she also enjoyed. The coffee was mediocre but then again I'm a bit of a coffee snob so take that into consideration. Their fiery margaritas will set your mouth on fire yet leave you feeling no pain. Highly recommend those! We inquired about taking a sunset cruise at the Tiki Hut onsite which is where you can book the resort activities. They tried to sell us a $500 private cruise w/ Captain TJ and stayed mum about the $90 per person one with Billy's Barefoot Cruises, which actually contracts with the hotel. We were not persuaded. Yes, there are iguanas all over the place as well as roosters and chickens. The fowl are protected by law in Key West, so if you mind them, you should probably vacation in the lower or middle keys instead. I don't mind the iguanas and they're actually quite pretty and amazing at camouflage. (FYI this resort is actually on Stock Island, which is 2 miles north of Key West and not in Key West proper.) Overall, the resort is not worth what they're charging. There're plenty of upscale choices in the area if you've the money to spend. Go elsewhere.

Yelp
A beautiful place away from the super busy downtown of Key West. Restaurant is excellent as is the coffee at the coffee shop! Staff were all very friendly and courteous. The marina is a beautiful backdrop sitting out on the balcony. It's a peaceful and relaxing place to come for a visit. My only complaint- the super small/lackluster fitness center. It should be 5X as big as it is. Only 5 people maximum can fit in this cramped gym at one time and that is pushing it. 2 bikes, 2 treadmills, 1 elliptical and 5 sets of dumbbells do not suffice for a gym on this kind of property. Everything else is top notch except for this. We really enjoyed our stay!

Yelp
Recently stayed at this resort. Great property, nice rooms, good amenities. However, If you leave anything behind after check out, good luck with getting it back! I've wasted more time calling to 1) confirmed who has my valuable items, 2) get someone to contact me back, and 3) arrange for my valuables to be shipped to me. I still have not gotten anyone to help me at this point. I don't know if I'll even get this items back, which are worth more than my stay there. Even with the good experience during our stay, I'll more than likely not stay at this resort again!

Nick E.

Yelp
This place scammed me out of my money and wouldn't answer my calls. When I filed my dispute with the my credit card company they claimed I was provided my services. I booked a 2 bed suite, when we arrived at almost midnight the room was trashed. we were offered to wait an hour for a new room or 2 be moved into 2 single rooms for our family. we had no other choice so we took the 2 singles, then these scammers billed us for those rooms too! Don't stay here!!!!! Many calls and emails to mgmt and they don't even respond!!

Yelp
I'm not sure why there are negative reviews of this place! We just got back from a fantastic weekend. Every single staff member we encountered was friendly and helpful! We had a king suite room which was just as described - It was beautiful and very clean. The pools and marina are gorgeous too! The shuttle is fantastic and easy to use. We chose not to eat at the resort because it did look a little pricey for what you got, but there are SO many places to eat in Key West so why complain? Just hop on the shuttle and go find a cute place to eat! If you're thinking of trying this resort please ignore the negative people, they probably just have bad attitudes about everything in life :-) We will definitely be back!

Yelp
Great resort ! 6 pools and a variety of games. Free kayaks and bikes. Beautiful rooms with balconies. Restaurant on site as well.

Yelp
From the moment we checked in until the moment we left I have nothing but good things to say about this hotel. Very friendly and helpful staff at the front desk. The room was clean, neat, and nicely appointed. Cold a/c!!! Great view from our beautiful balcony. Just a lovely place. The only suggestion I would make for accommodating the guests is directional SIGNS!!! Everything looks the same so expect to walk in circles looking for the lobby/front desk area.

Yelp
Unbelievable place. Room was exceptionally decorated and nothing was nailed down!!! Room was big and had a balcony that opened to a porch (piazza for you old folks) and the view was spectacular. Suzette at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. My only complaint was the $50 Resort Fee, pure ripoff.

Fred ..

Yelp
We just got back from our second stay this year (10/2 -10/5) at Oceans Edge. We were there in June for 3 nights as well. After our previous trip, we knew to ask to have our room 'lightly serviced' as otherwise it wouldn't be. When I checked in, I asked to have the room 'lightly serviced' and to make sure the trash was taken out and coffee refilled. No problem the front desk attendant said. Well, after returning to our room the afternoon of our second day we find the room wasn't serviced. OK, the following morning after our second night, I call the front desk and ask for service again. I'm told 'yes, of course'. That afternoon we return to find our room as we left it. No coffee and the trash overflowing. I really want to like this hotel, but I think I'll try The Perry Hotel and Marina next time.

Yelp
I'm conflicted in this review. I have been coming here for many years and have found the Resort, Marina, and Restaurant, and their respective Staff, to be amazing. During my most recent visit much was the same except for the Restaurant. Even when I stayed during COVID the Restaurant Staff was amazing. Honestly, on this visit, the service, just at the Restaurant, was so poor that I am rethinking coming back. It almost feels like the people managing the Restaurant are not the same as running the Resort and Marina.

Yelp
Me and my sisters all made the trek to KW on the ferry (fun times). We checked into OER and arrived at our room only to find the smell very off-putting and the metal door jam was dragging across the tile floor. There was a worker outside our room, so I mentioned this to him about the smell and door jam, he apologized and said he'll be right back, he was getting us a different room. After two rooms, the third was a charm. I was especially pleased how this young gentlemen and the front management handled the situation. After this, everything was magical here! We had a corner suite overlooking the boat docks. It's very peaceful looking over your balcony. There was a small refrigerator in the room which was very convenient. There is water in the room where the ice machine was. Also, when you're at one of the many pools, there are water jugs with cups. If the jug empties out, there is always someone walking around that you can let them know and they'll fill it up for you. We had breakfast in their beautiful restaurant with outdoor seating, everyone really enjoyed what they had to offer. Every single employee at this resort was so very friendly and helpful. We also utilized the free fun water sports they offered with no problems, they are like 'island people' no rush, everything is 'hang-loose.' We rented the Golf Cart from this resort as well and what a hoot that was!! Driving down the streets over the bridge to KW was a riot! We had a 6 passenger cart and it's hilarious because the blinkers don't seem to turn off when you turn because the turns are too gentle, so you end up riding around with your blinker on half the time. No one ever seemed to care. The people that rent the golf-carts were SO very nice!! We will do this every single time we come here. Oh, and I can't forget the shuttle drivers, they were so very helpful and polite, they'll go out of their way to please you (don't forget to tip them!) Thank you, Ocean's Edge employees, for making our special stay here so wonderful! Can't wait to come back!

Yelp
The thing that annoyed me the most was also what I loved. The front desk was somewhat indifferent to our ask for help, I guess things usually run smoothly so when we showed up a day late because my husband didn't believe they'd charge us anyway they didn't have our room ready at 2pm.

Kristan G.

Yelp
We visited for 6 nights for our honeymoon. The resort is extremely quiet and super nice with lots of activities. The rooms were very spacious. Everyone was super nice. Our room was about 15 minutes late being ready at check in and they gave us breakfast on them for the next morning. Jay assisted us with our golf cart rental and went above and beyond! The guys at the front door when we checked and and checked out were super friendly as well. The only complaint I had was we requested towels 3 times on our second to last day and they never brought them. Other than that we were so pleased. If we visit again we will definitely be staying here.

Yelp
Booked a room via Priceline as a VIP Gold member. Paid for a King Suite with Ocean View so I could get a room on the upper floors as I never feel safe on the ground floor. Got to the hotel and the front desk advised me that I have a room with partial ocean view booked. I show them my confirmation from Priceline that clearly shows I booked and paid for a King Suite with Ocean View. They refused to accept it and put me in a room on the bottom floor with a view of the pool, people swimming and boats. Absolutely ZERO ocean view or even a Partial Ocean view. I spent hours on the phone with Priceline only to have them confirm that yes, I did in fact pay for a King Suite with Ocean View...but that the hotel would not honor it..and that the only way the hotel would put me in an upper floor with an ocean view is if I paid for an upgrade. Now why would I be expected to pay for an upgrade when I already paid for a King Suite with an Ocean View? Neither Priceline nor the hotel would help and the front desk manager wasn't sympathetic at all...just kept insisting I booked a room with partial view. Then he asks do I have a copy of my confirmation that shows that I have a King Suite with Ocean View confirmed and I tell him yes, I already showed it to the ladies at the check in counter but they refused to accept it and insisted that Priceline had to call them. He continued to insist that Priceline call them....when Priceline already spoke to someone from the reservation line several times. It's past midnight and no one will resolve the issue. I'm stuck on the bottom floor where I don't feel safe. I booked and paid for a room on the upper floors as I never feel safe on the bottom floor. No one cares and the hotel has made zero effort to resolve the issue only to insist that I pay for an "upgrade". It's insane to demand I pay for an upgrade for something I already paid for. It's dishonest, unfair, and theft. I paid for a Kings suite with Ocean view and I didn't get what I paid for. Hotel staff completely disregarded my confirmation email from Priceline that clearly shows I booked and paid for an ocean view. The front desk agent confirmed they had rooms on the upper floors with ocean view available but they still wouldn't put me in those rooms...even when I showed them my confirmation email from Priceline. I've never met such cold hearted and uncaring staff before.

Yelp
Oceans Edge Resort and Marina was a great choice for our first trip to Key West. The resort itself is beautiful and clean. The staff was friendly, pleasant, and helpful. Lee at the front desk was most helpful, even suggesting off site fun and food when asked. We were able to watch the sunset a few nights from our room and the boardwalk making this trip all the more memorable. The resort provides bike, golf cart, and kayak rentals amongst a few other helpful services.

Yelp
Recently booked this hotel for our honeymoon. After arrival we quickly realized that this was not the place we wanted to spend our time. This property has an iguana problem! There are iguanas crawling all over the pool area and the outdoor seating at the restaurant. They had an equal amount of wild chickens running around, which compared to the iguanas I didn't mind. The hotel is clean and nicely landscaped however they are severely lacking when it comes to controlling the invasive iguana population. We left the hotel because we did not feel comfortable dining while having iguanas walking around under the table. The hotel refused to issue a refund after repeated requests. Do not book this hotel unless you like to vacation with iguanas and chickens. Management's condescending reply below is a good indication of how their guests are treated.

Yelp
Beautiful hotel. Would recommend! Staff was very helpful especially Haley out in the Tiki Hut area. She's a marine biologist/teacher and she was very helpful!

Yelp
I really the Resort was very nice. The rooms were clean, the a/c cold and the bed comfortable. You are being provided with a mini bar that includes everything except white wine. It had 2 bottles of red, which could have been a mistake but no way to tell. The suite was large with a separate living room with a couch, small table and a couple of chairs. The food at the restaurant was good, although One thing that kinda takes away from the overall experience, is the extremely limited menu. Especially at breakfast. I would have like to have seen either some more items on the menu, a couple of specials or rotating items.

Yelp
This property is located on Stock Island. It is not located on Key West. Ok got that off my chest. Super nice rooms with great views. We did not use any of the amenities other than the restaurant. Under heavy construction taking parking spots away can be somewhat of a problem. Under heavy construction and finding your way to your room can be a problem. Walking down paths that end with construction barriers can be a problem. Ok got that off my chest. Even with all the stupid "fee's" it still is somewhat affordable. Which is why we stayed here. They have a shuttle that runs you into Old Town. I found it very prompt and other than a tip for the driver free. It is not the best place I have ever stayed and far from the worst. If you go into shock trying to book a room actually on Key West this is a solid option.

Yelp
Nice resort and room. Fire alarm went off in our building in the middle of the night so that wasn't ideal. Our sliding glass door was broken upon arrival but maintenance came right away and fixed it and the maintenance person was warm and friendly. The food at the restaurant wasn't that great and service was even worse. We arrived the day after their holiday party so we excused the first day as a hang over day but the second day was the same. Servers standing around chatting with each other at the end of the bar and not paying attention to the diners. The people at the Tiki Hut were wonderful, warm and friendly and my niece enjoyed paddle boarding for her first time. The location was beautiful but not near anything within reasonable walking distance. Jeffrey, the shuttle driver, was the best part of our stay. He was so friendly and knowledgeable about the area and right on time!

Yelp
This hotel understands the value of aesthetics. It is 90% of what you are paying for. The rooms have pretty bedding and accessories. The grounds are nice and the bathrooms are up-to-date (even if not super clean). Before you book a room based on nice-looking photos, however, there are some important things to know. First--the resort is located in a very run-down part of town. Do not expect to leave the grounds unless by car or shuttle. Secondly, the "ocean views" only mean you are not on the first floor. The marina building had a view of a marina and a power plant. I guess marina is considered "ocean view" but the power plant really obstructs anything beyond the marina. Can't change the location, but don't be fooled by rates and rooms with ocean views. Also, you can call ahead and request the Ocean building, they can promise you that your room is in the building and you can show up to find out it's not--because that happened to us. Service is spotty and does not measure up to the looks of the place. Our keys did not work for several days which meant going to the front desk for a new key 5-6 times a day for the first three days. One front desk woman sighed and told us we weren't holding our keys in front of the keypad long enough--suggesting the inconvenience was entirely our fault (note--even the engineer's master key did not work until they fixed the lock). Never once did the manager call us to apologize or offer us anything. A round of drinks or dessert might have been a nice gesture. The cocktail server at the pool was the worst. He did not wear a mask and flat-out refused to bring me a glass of water even though we bought cocktails (I.e. we weren't just ordering free water). When I say refuse, I mean he literally told me he would not bring me water. He would only "agree" to bring me a bottle of Fuji water for which he received an automatic 18% gratuity. Of note--many around us had glasses of water so am not sure what his problem was, but very short-sighted of him as we normally tip generously for good service--even for free waters. The food was good. Menu was limited--perhaps due to Covid. Bottom line--she pretty, but definitely not a luxury or high-end resort until the owners/managers make service a priority.

Yelp
My wife and I stayed at Oceans Edge for our Honeymoon in August 2022. We are already planning another trip and would definitely choose Oceans Edge again. The room was clean the property is very clean, well maintained and manicured! The marina is well lit and take care of, perfect for walks at night, the water is lit in areas so you can see the silhouette of fish swimming. The staff was very friendly and helpful! Highly recommend this resort for your next visit to Key West!

Yelp
I am extremely dissatisfied with the service I received from your hotel's jet ski company during my recent visit. I was initially excited to take advantage of the discounted rate offered in exchange for content, but unfortunately, my experience was marred by an incident that left me feeling humiliated and mistreated. During my time on the jet ski, one of your employees wrongfully accused me of not following in a straight line, despite my efforts to avoid being splashed by other jet skis. He gave me no warning and abruptly stopped in front of me, telling me that I needed to leave. When I asked him what I had done wrong, he accused me of cutting people off, even though he was the one going in zig-zags while I went straight. To add insult to injury, he then started cursing at me and told me that he takes safety seriously because he was in the military for four years. I was completely shocked by his behavior and felt that he had no right to treat me that way. To make matters worse, he made me sit in the hot sun for 30 minutes until another employee came to drive me back to the marina. I find it unacceptable that I was treated in such a manner, especially as a paying customer who was looking forward to enjoying my time on the jet ski. I feel that the employee's behavior was unprofessional, disrespectful, and completely uncalled for.

Yelp
Ocean Edge Resort is a beautiful resort. Room was clean and they offered a ton of activities that was included in the resort fee. My only complaint was the coffee option in the room. I called the front desk and requested to have more mugs, coffee and creamer brought to my room and never received them. The fridge in the room smelled like previous stayer had dumped salad dressing in it and you could see it was funky. The room overall was spacious and clean. The robes were absolutely amazing. The pillows extremely comfortable. The balcony offers beautiful view over the marina. They have fenced in dog parks for your furry friend to run and play. I gave it four stars instead of five because I was disappointed about not being able to enjoy my coffee in the morning before leaving for the day. The shower and bathroom was huge but the shower head falling down was not to pleasant and the state of the fridge was sad.

Yelp
Key West is unique and fun with all of the locally owned shops, bars, restaurants and more to explore. I always feel at home here- a little bit like if the Highlands were bigger and in a tropical location. With that being said, I was torn on where to stay as the spots in "town" are mostly bed and breakfast type places and I wanted a resort feel. I am glad we went with Ocean's Edge Resort! The resort is a little off the beaten path but since Key West is only about 7 miles in total, you are never more than 15 minutes away from the action. Ocean's Edge is fairly new, super quiet, clean and beautiful. Every room has at least a partial ocean/marina view. We got upgraded to a suite for free which was lovely. We had a nice balcony, a little kitchen area with microwave, keurig, fridge with mini-bar and snacks. (note- there is a fee for anything you have from the mini-bar but it is reasonable) Our king bed was super comfy, the bathroom was so pretty and robes were included. The staff - especially Stephanie K were helpful and cool. We had breakfast each morning at the YellowFin Cafe on the property. Nice outdoor seating! Everyone wore masks and we felt safe. There are 6 heated pools with big lounge chairs so it was easy to find a spot. One of the best parts, there was a free shuttle to downtown on the hour, every hour. We used the shuttle every day and had the best driver- Kevin. He went out of his way to make our trip great. If you go to Key West, and want a more laid-back place to stay, I highly recommend Ocean's Edge.

Yelp
Love this place! Dog friendly, marina (love watching boats!), restaurant (adds gratuity so be careful!), dog park, fun pools, outdoor games, nice big comfy rooms with robes, complementary water, shuttle to old town, peaceful.

Yelp
This is a beautiful resort with a very friendly, helpful and attentive staff. At check in I knew that I'd chosen a great place by the warm reception, detailed information and overall ease of checking in! The resort is very large with 6 pools so there was never a feeling of being in a crowd and it's very quiet. My suite was clean as were the grounds in general. The shuttle runs hourly which makes the location very convenient. If I go back to Key West I'd stay at Ocean's Edge again and enthusiastically recommend it to others.

Yelp
All I can say is that we will definitely be back. The resort is hidden in it's own little area and when you drive in it is breathtaking. Everything is within walking distance once you're inside. There is a restaurant which we dined at (a little pricey and they added a tip without telling us) and there are also six saltwater, heated pools. The rooms we stayed in faced the marina so it was nice to just sit on the balcony and enjoy the view. We loved that bikes, stand up paddle boards and kayaks were complimentary with our stay. We did pay the extra for the jet ski rentals and had so much fun. Did I mention the shuttle is also complimentary? Shoutout to Kevin who drives the shuttle bus. He knows everything about Key West. The only thing that I was surprised about was how thin the walls were. It was a little loud being by the pool since others were swimming in it past closing hours. If we could stay here in the future we probably will.

Yelp
I feel it's always important to note that our stay and this review were during the COVID-19 pandemic. We had a lovely experience and greatly enjoyed our stay. The amenities offered on site (free hourly shuttle into town, pools, kayaks, room amenities, rental options, etc.), the vibe, and the way they handled the mask policy was all perfect. The whole place was very clean and extremely well cared for and maintained. It was a lovely place - we didn't want to leave! We would definitely go back here should we end up in Key West again. I'd give a shout out to Kevin, the shuttle driver. He was awesome. We looked forward to riding into town with him every day. You can tell he loves his town and wants to share it with everyone. I would also recommend you pay the little extra for the 'full waterfront view' - the partial view only gets you the first floor, so really all you see are the boats in the harbor and the pools. We stayed in the 4000 rooms, far more beautiful and secluded than the other blocks of rooms, with a beautiful view over the lagoon, rather than the pools & harbor. The only complaints we had were: 1. Without daily cleaning service in the room (thanks to COVID), it was very frustrating trying to get amenities such as coffee for the in-room Keurig, hand lotion, and beach towels. If we called for them to be delivered to our room, it took a long time to get them, and it was an inconvenience to get to the front desk to get them. 2. The on-site restaurant is a little too overpriced, even when compared to dining options in town. As much as we paid for our stay, it would have been better to have prices comparable to, or maybe even better than, other options that are further to get to. The restaurant staff is also somewhat persnickety at times, which could be a bit off-putting. 3. We wished there was an airport shuttle. All-in-all though, don't let those things put you off, I only mention them to note what we'd improve. It's a lovely place!

Yelp
I loved their location. I booked a room with king bed and full ocean view. Guys its NOT A FULL VIEW, its a view of the marina. Pictures are deceiving I asked them to confirm and they said this semi view is full view which was a disappointment since i paid over 300 dollars for a room. This the best view you can have i was told. Service: poor, they need ti get someone better at it Room quality : clean and beautiful Pool : heated and clean Shuttle: they have good shuttle service to downtown and they are great. Driver kevin is phenomenal as i had seen in sone reviews. I loved it

Yelp
Very quiet and really no noise disturbance whatsoever. Wonderful staff, everyone was very friendly and helpful for the most part. Shoutout to Greg at the Blue Fin restaurant and the very kind ladies at the check in area! There are some great waking spots and activities to do while you're here, with six pools, bike and kayak rentals, and a beautiful resort that makes for excellent night walks. While decently expensive, this is the place to go!!

Yelp
Paradise! With over 30 years of experience cruising the east coast and the Bahamas, Oceans Edge is one of our top 5 favorite places. The docks are concrete and very wide. Everything looks new and first rate. This place has 6 pools that are heated and fresh towels are provided! After a refreshing swim, you can retreat to one of the many comfortable lounges and read your book under the shade of an umbrella. If you get bored at the pool you can always play one of the many games located nearby. The bathrooms and showers are individual rooms that are kept very clean. They have a laundry facility, although a bit small but nice machines. They also have an exercise center, again small, best for single use, but open 24/7. There is a onsite restaurant called Yellow Tail that has a large well landscaped patio for outdoor eating. This patio also offers two fire pits with cozy seating to enjoy docktails with your friends. During the day, you can order food or drinks at the pool from the staff that comes to you. Be careful, this can be addictive, "Sir, may I have another?" A shuttle goes to Key West every hour and runs till late. We have also enjoyed riding our bikes to Key West and visiting the many interesting sites. Be sure to visit the scenic beaches located along the south side of this island. This is truly a romantic tropical destination without leaving the USA. But my highest praise goes to all the staff. Everyone seems to take a personal interest in making sure your ever need is met. The marina manager, Mike, makes daily rounds to see if everyone is happy. We have extended our stay an additional month and went ahead and booked a slip for next winter. Life is too short to not enjoy the very best! Paradise! Yelp
Facilities are ok, good pools and views. But room has lots of broken furnitures and utilities. For example, one light is broken. And front desk people are not professional.

Yelp
The front desk staff is useless poor customer service Check in very slow with no customer service skills. Bryan is not much better with no willing to help and not even answer the phone at the desk.

Yelp
Just got back from a wonderful weekend at Oceans Edge in Key West. We were there to broadcast a music festival on a streaming radio station. The staff was amazing, they treated us as valued guests and made sure we had everything we needed. Special shout out to Chris Smilgin, GM for food and beverage. He made sure everything ran smoothly. As for food I can't say enough positive things about it. From granola and fruit and a breakfast burrito for breakfast, chicken salad for lunch and topping off with a filet that was perfectly seasoned and was buttery tender. We were so happy and FULL! Can't wait to go back!

Yelp
It's not on Key West, it's on a ghetto neighborhood before the actual island, by a trailer park and next to a power plant and water treatment plant, look it up! Shower was clogged, not fixed. We were overcharged (the incidentals refund took 4 calls and 2 weeks to be reimburse) and we were treated very rudely and condescending by the front desk and that department's manager. I don't know if racism played a role but unless you're preppy white and happy to wait for your money to slowly drain down a clogged dirty shower, avoid this trap. The front desk manager even went on about my mother-in-law not knowing English...she's an engineer who owns a sizable US company and simply speaks with an accent.

Yelp
It depends on what you're looking for when considering this resort. If you want a marina experience you'll likely be pleased. If you're looking for a beach/ocean experience you will be disappointed. We were under the impression our "ocean view" hotel room was unobstructed ocean view. Instead we had a view of the trash below and the marsh. The ocean is way off in the distance and not accessible via foot at all. We were also shocked to learn that while the resort had 6 pools it didn't have a single hot tub. Pros: Bed comfy Rental water stuff available free for a hr a day Plenty of pools Nice fitness gym Nice marina Activities daily Cons: Ocean view room is more like a marsh view. Wasn't what we expected from an "ocean view" No hot tub Balconies of rooms next door were too close to feel like we had any privacy $20 parking fee per day $37 resort fee Distance to town via bike was a bit longer than we anticipated Junky drive into resort Only 1 movie channel with old movies

Yelp
We had a Family vacation at this amazing hotel! Tia& Bryan were very nice, welcomed us with a smile and made it a perfect vacation for all of us 8 ppl! Very recommended- the rooms are clean, the view is amazing, the service is super good, the pools are perfect and you can enjoy 2h a day kayaking/paddle boarding in the marina! Very recommended!
