3.5/5 The location of this property is superb. It’s a stones throw from the beach and the view is exceptional. The cabin is small, but does have the amenities that you need. Bedding was clean and the cabin was well cleaned when we arrived. We woke up in the morning and explored the beach and the tunnel through the rock to see the beach on the other side! Unfortunately the cabins are looking a bit run down. The inside needs updating and some small changes could make a huge difference. The kitchen is stocked was the BARE essentials. The knifes are so dull you can’t safely use them. There were no drying or kitchen cloths provided to help you clean up. The scrubby for the sink needed to be replaced badly. As I mentioned in my likes about the property the cabin was clean, however, it was obvious it had not had a good deep cleaning in a while. The bathroom fan was also broken so the entire suite became quite humid after three showers in a small building. I also did have some issues with check in. I booked through Booking.com and received instructions in the message centre through the app about the check in. They were incorrect. I was able to contact the manager and she had texted me the correct information. I’m travelling from Canada and only have data on my phone so I did not receive the correct info. Luckily my friend I am travelling with DID have international calling and texting. This is fairly minor, but was frustrating since cell service is limited and the check-in point was not in Oceanside.

We had a great time here. We did not spend much time at the cabin at all, but there were 4 of us, and we all were able to get the rest needed to hike a few miles the next day :) The location was by far my favorite part, and we got to experience high and low tides with a small storm the night before... We were at the beach until dark and made it back out before sunrise. The beach is so unique, it has a rock tunnel you can go through to get to the other side in case the tide is too high to go around.

Response to management: I have had to make countless calls to recoupe my property that I left after leaving as quickly as possible from the rundown cabin. The reason you don’t have a record of the dog payment was because your negligent staff booked me in the wrong property. I had to find cell service and get placed properly. I also didn’t post about the dog food because I figured you weren’t thrives, just bad hotel hosts….After staying here countless times over the last decade I am incredibly disappointed in what’s happened to the cabins. The new ownership ruined this coastal gem. It went from a well run quaint cabin to a run down eye sore. My last stay there I went without heat and had to use the stove to warm the cabin. Additionally I had to clean all dishes before using them because they were put away dirty. The manager there was rude and neglectful in my follow up call. It’s a shame to see a historic land mark so poorly cared for but I would suggest finding somewhere else to stay.

Terrible. We’ve camped, slept outside and in underdeveloped countries. We left at 6am because I couldn’t get out of the cabin sooner. The entire cabin (16) smelled like a gas station restroom. Very unfortunate because the location is AMAZING!! So close to the ocean and so many cool sea creatures to see during low tide. We tried to spend as much time as possible outside of the cabin to avoid the smell. It lacked cleanliness so we kept our shoes on. Even my husband who is NOT high maintenance considered this place just gross. There was one big overhead light. No lamps. Feels like one lamp would have been nice and helpful to dim to sight of the dirt on the walls and baseboards. I don’t think you should charge more than $99 at the very MOST for this stay. That’s Ben a stretch. The location was the redeeming quality but I imagine you’d find a better value elsewhere!

This is not a criticism of Rebecca, who did a great job trying to help us. Cabin 19's heater was broken, tiny space heater was also broken. Rebecca brought a new space heater but it wasn't enough to keep the cabin warm (November) and we had to leave a day early because it was just freezing cold (bedroom got down to 48 degrees overnight). In the winter you need to have a heat source in both rooms to keep it tolerable. Disappointing, I hear this place used to be fantastic, sounds like it's gone downhill and owners don't really care.

These cabins are small but provide everything you could need, such as a full kitchen. The best part? They are literally less than one hundred feet from the beach! Cell service is non-existent but the cabins provide Wi-Fi and the password is in the booklet on the table. Once you're logged in it is smooth sailing with the internet if you need it. When we arrived, we thought we heard a bar about a block away; turned out to be the community center hosting a wedding party. Was not too loud and the attendees were all very nice. We only stayed one night as we came down to go crabbing the next day, but we did walk to the beach that night. It was quiet and had very little in the way of people out enjoying it, which surprised me. Only one fire was going, yet another surprise,. I am used to Seaside, where there is at least two fires going at night every time I am there. I must say, it was nice to walk around and not have anyone near us. Back to the cabin - - It is non-smoking if that information is useful to you. The cabin we rented had two rooms next to each other and the walls are paper thin, just fyi. Paper thin. Other than that, I liked this place.

I hate to do this. I don't think I can stay here again. This has been our go-to spot for years! We love how close it is to our favorite beach. It used to be a cute place to and cozy together. Before I checked in, I was a little early, so I walked the beach for a bit. I received a text saying I was upgraded to a 2bdrm from the 1bdrm I booked and included the security code to the new room. She even called & left a voicemail. Then I rcvd another text saying, that was wrong info. Sure, I got my hopes up, hahaha! But now I have access to a room that is not mine. That's a safety hazard! At a beachcabin, you're going to have some extra wear and tear due to the elements. However, the place is falling apart. Walls are warped and discolored. Half of the nightstand is swollen from moisture. Don't look out the windows to the back of the unit because you will see why the inside looks the way it does. You can't keep cleaning the inside of a building but ignore the outside, allowing it to be delapitate and leak the way this place has. I sat down to draw, and I moved the lamp to put my hairbarette and my candy down to find black mold & magots. Look at the photo attached. I'm done! I will pay a little more money for much better accommodation somewhere else. Do not stay here if you are immunocompromised.
