Oceanside Resort & Twin Towers

I recently booked a 1 night stay in the Executive Studio at Oceanside Resort & Twin Tower for work purposes and brought my partner too. Overall, it was a good and easy stay. Checking in was simple and straight forward. We were warmly greeted by the man on reception who was polite and welcoming. Explanation for checkin and parking was clear. Car park was manageable however can see how larger vehicles may find it trickier. Room itself was good value and fairly spacious - enough for a quick business trip. The bed was very large and surprisingly very comfortable - better than a lot of bricks I've had to sleep in on holiday. Location of the room itself was alright, spectacular views weren't advertised in the listing so didn't have any expectations, though stepping outside onto the balcony and to the right-hand side, we could see a portion of the mount. The only minor setback were that tissues and your typical bathing soaps weren't provided, but towels and a coffee/tea selection were supplied. The rubbish/cleaning policy was a bit different from your standard, but easy enough to respect and follow. Air conditoning blew nice and cold, albeit a little bit dusty. The location of the hotel itself was great, right next to the Mount and in walking proximity to the beach and stores nearby. Barely a 2 minute drive up the road and you're in the middle of some really nice shops, cafes, and restaurants - one of which we had dinner at. I also appreciated that the $250 bond was refunded after checkout, arriving swiftly back into my account within the couple hour timeframe of our drive back to Auckland. For a one night stay at a very affordable price, it was a pleasant experience overall.

Had an excellent stay. The room was very clean and well‑maintained, and the staff were amazing — super polite, friendly, and always willing to help. The place was quiet and comfortable, making it easy to relax. Great value for money. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a quality stay.

Fantastic location. Front desk gentleman was very nice and polite. But like others said the pool was not accessible, literally one of the only reasons we stayed. It was not clearly written on the website we booked through like he said. Very small print far down the page. It also states will be finished by 1st of December. We stayed on the 6th. Completely misleading. The room I assumed I choose was nothing like the pic. Dark, run down and outdated. Again it was clean, bed was comfortable and fantastic location. A little advice don't use cool lightbulbs in bedside lamps, that's just weird.

Wouldn’t stay here again. The room had a strong mothball smell, and our “view” was just construction on the pool. There were also notices that were not very friendly and noticeable stains on the carpet. The location was good, but overall the experience wasn’t.

Stayed one night, good value for money. Ideal location, close to the township, cafes, beach and below the mountain for close walking on the trail. Didn’t need to use our vehicle as everything in walking distance. Friendly receptionist and directions/processes were easy with email communications sent through. Our room was clean and comfortable and facing the mountain. The only negative I will mention is the $250 bond, it costed more than our one nights stay. I travel a lot in NZ and abroad and this is the most expensive bond I’ve paid so far for an average motel. If there is a bond, I haven’t paid more than $100

The highlight of our stay was having Jassi as our concierge, so welcoming and loving. Went above and beyond for us when I lost my wallet and truly gave MANAAKITANGA that is rare in congested tourist places. Location was amazing, rooms were spacious. I highly recommend and will stay now whenever I am in town thanks to the beautiful and welcoming people!

Lets get one thing straight - this is NOT a Resort - is a motel. No room service, no breakfasts no extras. The car park we were allocated was simply impossible to use as we had to park very close to a pillar and under some sort of Metal unit - so almost had to crawl from the car. I eventually parked in a "Mobility Zone" which I am entitled to do.|The room was clean, but "tired" the shower and toilet were clean but "very tired". The hallways were too dark.|The reception is only open from 3:00pm until 8:00pm.|The Receptionist/Owner was lovely, but it was not enough to make it an enjoyable stay- it was not helped by my own health which (alas) deteriorated overnight - forcing me to go home early. - No refund for the second night - unused room.......|The location was great.|Overall, a bit of a disappointment - and weirdest of all - you cannot call them - everything must be done via email.....

I had the misfortune of staying at this "Resort" last week with my young son. The location is the only good thing about it. The Manager was rude and aggressive in front of my son and I spent the evening trying to find alternative accommodation - despite already having pre-paid for this place. The local cafe's and accommodation all said they had heard awful feedback from people who also stayed at Oceanside Resort & Twin Towers. The hallway to our room smelt of food and was thinly disguised with an abundance of room freshener. The carpet was stained and the bathroom not clean. The toilet had pubic hair still on it from not being cleaned properly. I didn't want to touch anything. I took photos of everything - some I wont publish on here but will report to booking.com. The fact that this place is labelled 4 stars is wildly inaccurate, it should be 2 so people know what they're getting. The facecloths were dirty and the door jamb looked like someone had attempted to jimmy open. We did not use the towels, facecloths or wait to take a shower. We left early morning as soon as we had woken up. There are various "friendly reminders" taking away your rubbish otherwise they will charge $30 for doing so if they "deem it" excessive. This place is shoddy, shady and STAY AWAY. In response to the owner's reply: The owner’s response is not factually correct. As I had already emailed the property, I explained I was travelling and unable to check all emails. I was assured I could check in at the property rather than having to follow the link beforehand. When I arrived, my GPS directed me to the side street where the parking was. The gates were open, so I drove in thinking there might be elevator access to reception. Inside, I approached a woman in the facilities room who was instructing a new employee—she clearly had some involvement with the property. However, she was extremely unhelpful and aggressive in tone. The car park itself was very narrow, and the room I was given was unhygienic and unclean. I also declined to leave my car in front of reception, as the desk is completely unmanned after 6pm—leaving vehicles at risk. The claim that I requested an extra bed for my son is a complete fabrication. I never made such a request. On top of this, the pool was not functioning during my stay, yet the owner continues to advertise the property as having a pool, which is misleading and false advertising. In short: DON’T STAY AT THIS PLACE.

Oceanside Resort & Twin Towers- Go Elsewhere. At the foot of Mount Maunganui in Tauranga, NZ. Oceanside Resort & Twin Towers may provide you with the best physical location to stay in the MM area. Just across the street to the MM walking paths, and around the corner from many sidewalk restaurants. However, don't let the cool view in the ad or a promotion fool you. Available rooms aren't in the big towers - they are in the 3-story building behind the towers. We quickly discovered the rooms advertised provided two options 1) an ocean view apartment $260/night (about 5 ft between two buildings) or 2) a first-floor no-view studio for $180. We saw the $120 promotions on Kayak and other booking sites and stopped into the reception area while visiting the area. The receptionist (a gentleman that looks like Victor Maitland from Beverly Hills Cop), appeared put off and bothered that we were there. He read the script and didn't make us feel welcome at all. I think this location is a retirement community with a few extra rooms they rent out. We really wanted the ocean view, so decided to try the apartment for the view. The apartment had two bathrooms, washer/dryer, a kitchen, a living area and dining area, with underground parking, and was spacious but very outdated. Décor was cheap and old - like your grandparents' home in the 90's. We tried to go to the pools but they were closed and the receptionist was far from accommodating when I asked about it. Also the buildings Wi-Fi didn't work well in the unit or lobby and there were ants crawling all over the kitchen. We enjoyed the physical location, but accommodations were not worth their rate and attitude. If you are staying 2 or more days (to leverage washer/dryer and location), then look into Air B&B for other locations down the street. Although the unit we stayed was available the next night, the same front desk person would not give us a late checkout - very strict 10am checkout. So bottom line, they have rooms in a great location, but accommodations and service were lame. There were no restaurants, lounges or extra amenities on site. Apartment may be good for large family to spread out a little bit and save money with one room? Personally - Go elsewhere!
