Ocho Artisan Bungalows

We had the most amazing stay at **Ocho Bungalows**—it truly felt like a dream. From the moment we arrived, the hospitality was above and beyond. Zuley and Pri at the front desk were incredible—so helpful, knowledgeable, and welcoming. They gave us fantastic recommendations for local spots and restaurants, which made our trip even more special. Gabriel, the bartender, greeted us with welcome cocktails that were absolutely off the charts—easily some of the best we’ve ever had! The owner, Shon, went out of his way to personally welcome us on our first day and made us feel right at home throughout our stay. The rooms were spotless and had that perfect cozy bungalow vibe. We also received daily room service, which made everything effortless. Breakfast each morning was exceptional—freshly squeezed juices, creamy cappuccinos, and delicious dishes that set the tone for the day. We also had lunch and dinner at the restaurant a few times, and the food was consistently fresh, flavorful, and unforgettable. Pablo and Giovani, the restaurant staff, went above and beyond to take care of us, treating us more like family than guests. Every detail at Ocho Bungalows made our week-long stay unforgettable. Between the warm hospitality, the outstanding food and drinks, and the serene atmosphere, we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. We can’t recommend this place enough—it’s truly a slice of paradise.

Took a trip with my fiancé in October 2025 for my 40th birthday and we absolutely LOVED Ocho. The location is close enough to all of the main spots but far enough out of the way to be a little quieter and more tranquil. The room was exactly as advertised, beautiful, spacious, and private. The staff is really what blew us away though. Within 2 hours of arrival every staff member from the office to the bar/restaurant knew our names. Everyone was super friendly and helpful and ensured we had the best time. They asked each morning what time we wanted housekeeping so that it always worked around our activity schedule and plans. You're steps from the beach, have everything you need at the resort, AND are a 5 minute walk from everything in town. You won't regret staying here!

From the moment we checked in Zula and Pri were great hosts that made sure we had everything we needed for a fantastic stay at Ocho.. They were so sweet to arrange a surprise decoration and bottle of champagne for my husband’s birthday. The bungalow felt like being in the middle of the jungle even through we were very centrally located…you will see/hear coatis, howler monkeys, and iguanas, and the property has beautiful tropical trees, vines, and flowers throughout with a gorgeous pool looking out to the beach. Loved watching sunset from the beachclub loungers, and highly recommend the piña colada at Happy Hour, and we easily walked to all sorts of restaurants and shops around town (although the food was amazing at Ocho so there is no need to go anywhere else!) Ocho was an all-around incredible stay that I recommend to anyone looking for a memorable and quality time in Tamarindo.

We had a 5 night stay at Ocho for our 10 year wedding anniversary, and it was incredible. The bungalows and grounds are unique, spacious, and clean. If we needed anything, it was addressed immediately. Gio, Lourdes, Zulay, Priscilla, are all friendly with exceptional service; they go above and beyond to ensure your stay is comfortable, personalized, and that you have everything you need. The people we met that were also staying at the bungalows were so nice and friendly. The food and drinks are really good, they offer laundry service, and can help with any excursions you may want to do. They are a one stop shop, and if you don’t care to venture out into town, you don’t have to - they have it all. Don’t pass up your welcome drink, it’s DELICIOUS!! The location is perfect, you’re right on the beach and walking distance to everything. We had such a wonderful stay and have already recommended Ocho to some friends. You won’t be disappointed.

We had a wonderful stay at the bungalows - we were in #3 in the jungle. Tamarindo can be a bit lively so you'll here noise - but we had no problems at all. The room was exactly how it looked, the beachfront restaurant was great , beach access was perfect. Really near to town. What makes this place really special is there are only 7 bungalows and the staff are so attentive to everything. The breakfast was great with lots of choice. Nice relaxed atmosphere. The staff were second to none... everyone one of them. I would 100% recommend. You have to remember this is Costa Rica not San Diego - life runs differently, it rains... be flexible..!!

I’ve had the pleasure of experiencing Ocho Artisan Bungalows as a guest, at their beach club, and as a photographer, and I can’t recommend it enough! The bungalows are stunning, blending modern comfort with authentic Costa Rican charm. Spacious and impeccably maintained, every detail makes your stay feel special. The beach club is a true gem, perfect for relaxing, enjoying fresh meals, or soaking in waves and sunsets with a chic, welcoming vibe. As a photographer, this property is a dream. Natural light, lush surroundings, and thoughtful design make every corner incredibly photogenic, from romantic terraces to vibrant beach club moments. Whether visiting for vacation or a wedding, Ocho Artisan Bungalows offers an unforgettable experience. Comfort, beauty, and authentic charm make it one of my favorite spots in Tamarindo, and I can’t wait to return!

I can’t say enough good things about this resort , it’s truly a slice of paradise! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm smiles, and that incredible “Pura Vida” energy that makes Costa Rica so special. The location is unbeatable right on a beach with golden sand, turquoise water, and sunsets that look like a painting. You can literally walk from your room to the ocean in under a minute. The staff went above and beyond every single day always friendly, always attentive, and genuinely proud of the experience they offer. Every meal at the restaurant was fresh and delicious, with amazing local ingredients. Highly recommended, I’d give 10 stars ⭐️

We visited Ocho Bungalow this past August, We can’t speak highly enough of the whole staff, so warm, attentive and fun! They are there for everything you need and then some with such positive attitudes, they go above and beyond to make sure your stay is perfect! The grounds are beautiful, small, quaint, jungle tropical paradise! The Ocho Beach club, ocean front , was amazing, all of the food and drinks are delicious, and the ambiance beautiful and magical! We stayed in the 3 bedroom villa, it is roomy, has all the amenities you need, great unique showers, and in the front you have an area with couches, chairs, jacuzzi , all while watching the ocean and best sunsets in privacy! Restaurants and shops all in walking distance is a plus as well. It is such a gem, small quaint with the best service ever, so glad we found Ocho Bungalow and we can’t wait to visit again !
