The absolute best, freshest oysters we’ve ever had! Server said they’re from Cedar Island. Plump, salty, briney sweet, juicy and clean with no shell fragments, crabs or sand. Service was great. Spicy margarita was amazing and worth the ferry ride by itself! Really enjoyed the selection of 5+ hot sauces! Prefer non-dairy butter so that was also a plus. 10/10 would recommend and return as often as possible.

Google
Very family friendly, with a very kind staff. Sometimes it's a good place to grab a beer and an ear, and other times for some good grub. Or maybe just stop by for dessert on your way home. Whatever the case, this place has a little something for you. Quaint eatery and sometimes live music. You can sit indoors or outside.

Ate here for lunch, took my two dogs and they were able to sit outside with us. Food was great. Options were good. I had the raw oyster combo and mahi tuna taco. My wife had the barefoot burger. Food was delicious, came out quick. Also had the bloody Mary, which was ok. Would recommend this place if you're in town.

Google
Cool place with great staff. Everyone was helpful and friendly with great service. Just love the vibe here. Such a chill, relaxed atmosphere. It used to be the Ocracoke Bar and Grille location. I got the oyster rockefeller and the oyster mon louis. Both were really good! Never had the mon louis before. My wife got the mahi tacos. They were really good as well. The mahi is really well seasoned and cooked. The fish was very juicy and the cilantro crema was a great compliment. The black beans were also good. Had several drinks as well. Will definitely be coming back.

Google
Fantastic oysters! Crab cakes had a weird aftertaste that reminded me of dog food but I think it’s from how they were seasoned. Everything else was fantastic! Great service, great vibe, solid comfort food. They also had live music (a little too loud but the guy was good). Can’t wait to come back!

Google
Just had THE BEST raw oysters I have ever tasted at Ocracoke Oyster Company! Huge, fresh, and busting with flavor. Peel-and-eat shrimp were succulent and delicious and the blackened flounder with green beans was awesome. Seafood is my favorite, and I loved this place! They also have a nice outdoor patio with funny signs. :)

Google
Crab stuffed flounder and oyster salad. We also got the blueberry cobbler, but we couldn't stop to photo it. Everything was amazing! Chill atmosphere and great service. Oh, we also had wings and blackened tuna for appetizers. We're stuffed, but happy!

Google
Really good lunch spot with great service. The oysters were incredible. Probably the best oysters Rockefeller I’ve ever had.

Taylor V.

Yelp
This restaurant is one of the best on the island. Skip some of the older more well known spots and come here! The service was excellent and the food was too.We tried many different types of oysters, crab dip, the catch of the day and for the non seafood eaters, we had a chicken sandwich. As a restaurant that is known for oysters, their selection of non seafood was incredible. Do not skip the sidewinder fries with spicy ranch! The standouts were the crab dip, Nashville Hot sandwich and the Ceviche oysters.

Lori Ann R.

Yelp
Had the Oyster's Rockefeller and they were fantastic along with the mahi mahi tacos, blackened. I'm new to Oyster's Rockefeller, having only had them two or three times before but these best out all the others I've tried. There's a huge difference in same day caught, fresh oysters and I know that now. Blackened mahi tacos were excellent and were served with a side of black beans and rice, both were also great. Service was spectacular. We both had the house Bloody Mary's and those were awesome as well. We loved the outdoor patio seating.

Yelp
My 2018 review was for the previous location and menu. We visited with friends in Oct 2023 and could not figure out why everything was not as we remembered. The place was empty and the menu was greatly reduced from what we recalled. Sorry to say, we bailed and went to Howard's Pub where we had a good lunch in a place with some life. I just could not figure out how to pull down my old review. whenm I do it will be gone, because it is not for this place.

Nick B.

Yelp
10/10 We had the crab stuffed flounder. Chefs kiss. Trevor was our server and was outstanding! Will be back almost every day for the next week. Ah the Christmas cocktails are delicious.

Chris M.

Yelp
Tried the Ocracoke Oyster Company for the first time. We got seated right away and our server was helpful and friendly. My brother got the beer can shrimp which was not what we were expecting. He ate a few and I tried one which was not very good. But we tried something new. My sister in law got the ribeye steak and baked potato. The steak was outstanding, she gave me a bite. She asked for a lot of sour cream and they brought three. We asked a host that was walking by for three more and he walked in the back then went back outside to look at his phone. After ten minutes our server came back and we finally got some. I got the catch of the day with scallops blackened which was very good. Drinks are pricey with not as much alcohol as we are use to but that's ok. We got the blueberry cobbler and asked for an extra scoop of ice cream. There was very little cobbler in there but a lot of whipped cream. The extra scoop of ice cream cost is $4. Not sure if that was worth it. Also you get two drink refills on soda and tea. We would go back but just be careful on what we order.

Yelp
Wow wow wow 5 stars all day long and I'm a food snob. Some of the best oysters Rockefeller i have had. Better than mine and I thought I couldn't be outdone. Large, plump and cooked perfectly. Black beans and rice were awesome and the soft shell crab was great too. Eric did a great job as our server. My wife had a salad and fish Tacos. Salad was very fresh and the Tacos were ababsolutely amazing. We'll be back. I'm just glad I didn't see the 3.5 stars average before stopping because I would missed a great lunch.

David S.

Yelp
We ate here on our visit to Ocracoke Island last week. Oysters were delicious as well as our man course and desert. Service is always great and as always wonderful evening. Thank you

Keith A.

Yelp
I expected ok/tourist food and was pleasantly surprised. We got a house salad, crab bisque which was full of crabmeat, grilled mahi tacos, and Mango Habanero wings. Everything was excellent!!

Keenan T.

Yelp
My family always hits the Oyster Company each time they come to Ocracoke. They suggested this place when I came with them last year. The fresh local oysters are excellent. The baked oysters eat like salty pizza bites. They are awesome. My family orders a dozen oysters for the table, half raw and half cooked. We usually add an appetizer and drinks to go with them. This year saw the same. We ordered a dozen oysters and some seafood entrees to share among the five of us. The food was great! I'm happy with the food and service here. The bugs like this place too, so apply some repellent before dining here. Otherwise, I recommend the Oyster Company to anyone looking for quality seafood in the heart of Ocracoke Village.

Phylicia H.

Yelp
Really fun and lively spot for food and drinks. Be prepared to wait because it is very crowded and when I went they were short staffed. Our waitress was very kind and attentive. Ordered the chicken salad with fig and balsamic vinaigrette. Ocracoke is famous for figs so I was excited to try the dressing, but wasn't as strong of a flavor as I would have liked. Great portion size and still tasty! My bf ordered the peppercorn burger and really enjoyed it! We came during live music, which was very nice. I would definitely come back!

Brian C.

Yelp
Had a great time here at the Oyster Company. My friend and I came in for some good drinks and food while listening to live music. We had been touring the Outer Banks the last few days and wanted to end our last night on a good note. The service was great and our waiter regularly checked on us. The food came out in good time and everything tasted great. The drinks were spot on and we were stoked to hear some live music from a local back home. Was a great time and thanks for having us!

Sarah B.

Yelp
The oysters were amazing and the sampler was so good. The crab dip is cream cheese and thick white bread and not worth the price. My husband got the flounder and it was grilled with little to no salt and green beans were ok. The shrimp tacos were good but simple. The service was mediocre and hopefully they don't have a movie on since that's all they did was watch it. The ambiance was nice but we went on a non busy time but for not having too many people, we weren't asked about drinks or refills or anything's Been here done it.

Debra C.

Yelp
Last yrs visit was ok but the bartender made sure she "threw" the beer bottles in the trash. So it was annoyingly noisy. Add to that, the piped music inside wasn't the musicians music outside. Places to eat are very limited on the Island. So this yr we opted to eat outside- flies love the garbage can next to the table. My husband ordered the Flounder topped with crab. I guess they didn't inform us they ran out of Flounder and opted to use Maui? It was dry and tasteless. When the waitress brought our bill we asked what was the fish they brought. She looked and said "That's definitely not flounder". Normally we would have just returned the plate once we were served but it was late and we were starving. This was our 4th yr on the island. We won't return to this place again next yr. Server was good and pleasant. Overpriced

Yelp
Christmas week on Ocracoke is an odd time. It's definitely the offseason where most of the dining options on the island are seasonally closed but as I've seen on each of my three Christmas week visits over the years, if you add good weather to the mix, there are a lot of hungry people looking for somewhere to go and that's exactly what we got at OOC. Service: Good enough all things considered. It was early afternoon on a weekday and the place was mobbed. 15-20 minute for a table and the only thing they had was outside seating which is crazy in late December, but when it's sunny and 60 degrees it works. Our server was doing the best she good but was frazzled big time with all of the tables she had. She initially gave us another table's drink order and dropped one of our entrees on the ground but overall, I guess it could be worse. Food: This is where the three star rating comes from. I can't say that anything was bad, but I'm not going to say that anything was memorable either. BBQ Pork Nachos - Peppercorn Burger - Pasta of the Day - Fried Shrimp Platter - Rueben The nachos are probably what worked best. Good meat to sauce ratio and it was a solid portion for the price. The pasta was the entree the server dropped so it took a while to get another one rendered, the bacon on the peppercorn burger was limp white underdone even though I asked for it to be crispy and the bread on the Rueben seemed stale. The pricing isn't bad considering where you're at and overall, I am glad they chose to be open versus the majority of their peers on the island. But the food is at best middle of the road ok which is why for me, three stars is spot on.

Andrew D.

Yelp
I've been here in June and I've been here in December, and in both seasons it's "good not great". In June it's slammed, and they turn out above-average Calabash-style (aka "fried") seafood and raw oysters, and they work briskly. In December, it's so slow that your food will come out very quickly, maybe a little too quickly. Very nice service.

Jillian T.

Yelp
Would NOT recommend! The food was okay, but not for the price. The rice and beans weren't good, basically just beans with a little rice in bean water. Our service was good then completely fell off at the end. We waited longer for the check than we did for our apps & dinner combined. I figured our server was busy but I tracked them down out back where they were just chatting away without a worry in the world. It was frustrating to say the least. The outdoor seating was nice & quiet & was overall cute on a good note.

Jon L.

Yelp
I like this place mainly for the Live music lineup. Me & Mary E went here to see Kate McNally on Friday 9/3/21 and then Barefoot Wade on Saturday. We had the Oyster sampler plate and BBQ Nachos which was exceptional and then had the Old Bay shrimp which was real good too. I'm not a big fan of drinking margaritas out of a plastic cup, the salt doesn't stick but hey, what can you do. We were able to get an outside table close to the music. The weather for this weekend was perfect, the best I've expereienced in the 17 years I've coming to the Island. We had good service and great food. On a holiday weekend, I recommend getting there close to 615p when the music starts at 630p or you will wait. This place has new owners and management so it's different from what you may have experienced in the past. Not quite the craft beer selection they had at one time. They do have a large selection of top shelf stuff though. The menu is expanded and a large selection of different types of Oysters. This place is right next to Sorellas Pizza and Past. Some of the pics will confuse you because people have gotten it confused the restaurant that used to sit where Wheelie Fun golf cart rental now sits.

Yelp
Awesome food! We eat here every time we are in Ocracoke. The fries are the best! Blooming Onion

Jane S.

Yelp
Service was extremely poor. Waitress and waiter would not accommodate to the physical disabilities my father in law had. The waitress also yelled at me to eat somewhere else.

DavidCrystal P.

Yelp
We had the Crab Stuffed Flounder and it was wonderful!!! Our waiter Matt was awesome and he had a great knowledge of the menu. This will definitely be on our list the next time we visit Okracoke.

Wesley S.

Yelp
Crab stuffed flounder was dry, Shrimp Alfredo , I'm pretty sure was from a jar. Oysters Rockefeller had no spinach, or onions and maybe minimal garlic; mediocre at best. Coleslaw was the best part. Waitress was caring and upset no scallops , although was on the outside marquee, and as a special.

Todd M.

Yelp
We tried Ocracoke Oyster Company during a quick New Year's trip to the island. My wife had fried oysters and flounder. She thought the seafood was very, very fresh, which is always a big plus. The serving of seafood could have been a bit larger for $27. I was not in the mood for seafood and feeling a bit adventurous, so I tried the General Tso's Chicken. It was freshly fried chicken bits tossed in a moderately spicy sauce (I think I tasted Sriacha) stir fried with onions, carrots, and celery over rice. It was surprisingly good but would have been better with freshly cooked rice instead of the clumpy, old-tasting rice that it came with. Service was friendly, but slow. They get bonus points for welcoming our dog on the covered porch and bringing out a big bowl of water for him. All in all, our meal at Ocracoke Oyster Company was good. While there were some rough edges, it was a reasonable value for Ocracoke and probably the only place on the island serving General Tso's Chicken at any time of year.

D H.

Yelp
The service at lunch was great. Dinner not so great. Eating indoors is very loud. The outdoor area is much nicer. Food was pretty good.

Nicole D.

Yelp
We stopped in on a Wednesday evening at 6pm after being rudely rejected service at SmacNally's. Our female server was very accomodating and allowed us time to chose some local 1718 beers. We started with six oysters finished with salsa and cilantro. Then six classic served with mignette and cocktail sauce. I wish the cocktail sauce had more flavor and missed having the traditional horseradish side. Also the oysters were not served over ice but in a paper basket which was a miss on presentation. We also ordered 12 oysters casino, three different flavors. There was entirely too much cheese on the oysters and it took away from the seafood flavor. For entrees we shared a pulled pork sandwich and friend shrimp basket . The breading on the shrimp was crispy and the burger fries were great. The restaurant has a lot of outdoor seating and the inside was very fun with themed ocean decor and wood finish.

Robert G.

Yelp
If you come to Ocracoke, hit up O-bar. It is fantastic and fun and packed. Get a "shot ski" and some mixed drinks. Fried food. Fish. All around good scene. Very chill people.

Aaron S.

Yelp
Delicious seafood. The local oysters on a half-shell were the sweetest I've ever had, and I've had many oysters. My wife had the freshly fried oysters and they were just as amazing. I had their soft shell crab with their homemade fries as my entre. We were recommended this place by a local due to their fresh food; so glad we chose this place over Howard's.

Jodie S.

Yelp
I have been eyeing this place for a long time. Worth the wait if you need to wait in a line. My taste in music. Fast service. Pretty good food. Great experience. The Blooming Onion was well seasoned. The spicy ranch dipping sauce it came with made the meal. Because it was my first blooming onion I can't say much. The fish Reuben, I was skeptic at first. But turns out the fish was meant to be. A little greasy but it is fish. Delicious sauerkraut and the sauce was on point. Unsure if I would eat the options I made again. But with the options on the island around Christmas. I will be eating there tomorrow.

Morgan A.

Yelp
Never will visit again. Staff was incredibly rude to me, yes I had my dog was me however I was trying to get my dad's attention when he walked to me. I was also trying to sit on the patio where dogs were allowed but again staff was rude and just ignored me at the door. Do not go there at night unless you want to party. I get they have a job to do and they are dealing with drunk people. But that does not give the excuse to be rude to a customer. We just wanted food late at night and this was the only option. Food was good. Only saving grace was a local guy, yes drunk but having a good time, he made the wait staff get water for my dog. I am thankful for that random stranger for his kindness while I waited outside for our food to be ready.

Monica S.

Yelp
Great food, atmosphere and entertainment! Best oysters on the island and a few other bites I would recommend you try, hot crab dip, beer can shrimp and finish off with a coconut breeze! Paityn provided great service; I would highly recommend you to stop in!

Mikkel W.

Yelp
A bit underwhelming and overpriced. Our waitress was great and we like the ambience/vibe of the restaurant. What was underwhelming was the food. Overpriced for small portions and no taste. I didn't even think salt and pepper could fix the bland, homemade potato salad so I sent it back. Sad to write this because it has so much potential and the waitress was so nice. (Bloody Mary was good too but way overpriced for what it was ($13).) But can't let other people think they're get a good meal here.

John W.

Yelp
Passing through for the day we acted on hunch and stumbled into a killer hot lunch. The fish was sublime, the beer was ice cold, our best meal this week if the truth be told. The fish tacos and sandwich were served quick and just right and the portions would hold us deep into the night. The fries were top shelf, not too thin or too thick, and were also gone soon cause our kids were so quick. The tuna was seared and the flavor unreal, at this great spot for a good outdoor meal. Rhyming aside, definitely stop here if you're hungry in Ocracoke. No joke.

Nancy S.

Yelp
Had a late dinner last night, just burgers and fries. It sure took a long time! There wasn't quite enough wait staff. Everyone was harried. There were long haired dudes in the kitchen without hairnets or ponytails. When did this become okay? Anyway, they had "live music," like, a single singer who allegedly has the best voice on the island. Apparently, this is not a hot spot for talent scouts. She tried to hit a few notes that were clearly out of her range. On the other hand, there's been no live entertainment for more than 2 years now, so maybe she was just rusty. Prices were high, and service was slow. I'd rate this one a "meh."

Rebekah B.

Yelp
The absolute best crab dip I've ever eaten! My family and I go back almost every year on our vacation to the Outer Banks. That dip is worth the 6 hour trip and more!

Jason T.

Yelp
I came here for lunch and got a fried chicken sandwich with fries and a Shirley Temple. It all tasted amazing!! My family enjoyed their food as well. Our waitress (Kathy) was very kind and we left feeling satisfied. Would love to visit again in the future.

Kris S.

Yelp
I rarely review but I felt like this needed a review. The good - This is the off-season and they were pretty quick with our order despite lack of staff. Food was decent and well within expectations. Good music and ambiance. The bad - everything was served in plastic. The drinks, soup, plastic wear. The entree was served on a tin-like plate with paper underneath. Ok. But the soup was in a container that you would order pasta salad at the grocery store. All fine, but I'm imagining how much plastic they go through Hubby orders a Grey Goose martini. It comes in a plastic cup. Fine. The bill comes and the martini is $18! I have never complained about a drink price but this was literally 3 ounces of vodka. Our server, not his fault, said well, you ordered Grey Goose. The 750ml price for Grey Goose is about $35. Sorry but this is wrong. We paid and left but never again.

Kathleen C.

Yelp
We were disappointed in our meals and dessert. Fried shrimp were more breeding than shrimp. The blueberry cobbler had no cobbler in it. We made a comment, but no return response as if they didn't care. No need to go back.

Donna H.

Yelp
Negatives first, drinks kinda pricey, specials given without prices (we forgot to ask and soft shells were $30), no A/C (but lotsa fans), beans and rice side very bland, taco shells fell apart key lime pie was meh, not tart at all, maybe not a dessert place. Now the good, our waiter was great, friendly and got every order right for a group of 7. All our dinners were delicious, crab cakes well seasoned, very 'crabby', great crispy cool shaped fries, creative, yummy oyster offerings, taco fillings super delish, perfect hush puppies, soft shell crabs excellent. All in all will def go again, have less drinks and no desserts. Gratituity added for 6 or more, waiter told us when he brought check. Great country mix live music.

Joe S.

Yelp
Got off the ferry and drove to town looking for someplace to eat. Our first time on the island and we did not know that after Thanksgiving most places shut down for the season. We found this restaurant and we're very pleased. We had to park around the corner, so to speak, because parking is very limited. We had an oyster basket and a shrimp basket. Seafood was very fresh and the fries, while very unique in shape, had a light old bay seasoning and quite tasty. Limited service due to the season, but wait was enjoyable.

Susan X.

Yelp
We really enjoyed our meal while on Ocracoke here at Ocracoke Oyster Company. It did take a while to get our food but the food was delicious and our waitress was very nice and attentive. The calamari was delicious. The crab dip was amazing! I just kept wanting to eat it. I ordered one of their specials of the day (I believe) and it was their soft shell crab with fries. DELICIOUS. It was battered and fried, a bit salty was delicious. The fries were yummy too. Overall, the food was delicious. I'm going back just for the crab dip alone! Unfortunately, I didn't get a picture of it because I ate before I thought to take a picture.

Janille T.

Yelp
Great food fun atmosphere, live music. Covid friendly. Fresh oysters, salty and local.

Sharyl G.

Yelp
Fried oysters are incredible at this place!!! Atmosphere is great and service was spot on!! Ask for Shane!

Todd R.

Yelp
Great food, friendly service. I had a good beer on tap and a delicious oyster platter: The oysters were lightly fried, juicy on the inside. Just right! The fries and green beans were delicious, too. The quantity of oysters (8) for the price was a bit disappointing, but overall this is a great place!

Stacey H.

Yelp
I ate here a few times during my stay on Ocracoke. The staff is very friendly. The owner is engaging and very accommodating to dogs on the patio. The food is great. I had the flounder, crabcakes, fries, and coleslaw. All fresh and tasty. I had onion rings once, and they were not cooked quite to my liking. They would have been good if they had been a little crispier. The guacamole was also excellent. As a solo traveler, establishments are not always willing to sit me at a table and request that I sit at the bar as to not take up a table. This was not the case here. They are very welcome in here.

Chloe M.

Yelp
Amazing. I CANNOT believe that this place only has 3 stars. It really deserves some more hype. We had the fried fish platter with fries and coleslaw, blackened shrimp tacos, pineapple cilantro margarita and an oyster stout and this giant blooming onion. EVERY BITE WAS DELICIOUS. I was busting out of my shorts by the end. Our server, Shane, was AMAZING! Super attentive, super fast and super nice! We watched him and he was like that with EVERY table. He even gave us both a little shell before we said goodbye, such a sweet small gesture. His attitude, along with our delicious food and beach atmosphere, made for a great late lunch. Definitely stop here for a bite while on the island.

Kasey B.

Yelp
Great food. Great atmosphere. The service was great. The soft shell crab was in season and it was amazing.

Lauren L.

Yelp
We had the blonde male, Paul, as our server and he was awesome! very attentive to our table and gave recommendations that pulled through. the blackened tuna was super well cooked. mahi mahi tacos and sandwich both were amazing and well cooked. good size portions. we sat outside per our request and good music and it was not too loud like many restaurants are. blooming onion was HUGE as well

Susan A.

Yelp
Its midnight & I'm still hungry because this so called restaurant charged me almost $20 with tax for this "crabcake sandwich." I took a picture without the bun to show you how small the patty was. Same size a thin patty on a $1 hamburger at mcdonalds. I will never go here again, I always go to Howard's but they're closed for the season. Go to Jason's don't get ripped off and still be hungry

Michael K.

Yelp
Outstanding oysters for appetizers.. Had the daily special.. flounder stuffed with crab meat and Sauce.. best value for the dollar.. all locally sourced seafood...Tom the waiter helpful with tips about the Ocracoke Island..

Deena L.

Yelp
I would say the oysters Rockefeller were amazing, but everything else was below par. Breading on fried seafood was not good, french fries were awful. Disappointed? A little due to the excellent service and location. We visited the Outer Banks for a week and this was our worst tasting and most expensive meal we had.
