Octopus Resort

Our stay at Octopus Resort was hands down the best holiday we have ever experienced. Everything was perfect — from the beautiful accommodation to the exceptional quality of the food, the warm service, and the unforgettable activities. This place offers the perfect balance of resort comfort and authentic Fijian culture — you truly get the best of both worlds. The genuine hospitality makes you feel like part of the community from the moment you arrive. The photos online don’t even come close to capturing how stunning this place is — it’s at least ten times more breathtaking in person. The sunsets, the crystal-clear water, and the atmosphere are simply unreal. We are already planning to return every year from now on. If you’re looking for a place to stay in Fiji, make it Octopus Resort — you won’t regret it. We had a wonderful 8-day, 7-night stay at Octopus Resort in late September/early October 2025. Our overall experience was very positive. The staff were absolutely excellent, and the activities offered were a highlight of our trip, earning top marks. A staff member who truly deserves special mention is Sharene. She was fantastic—very attentive, active in responding to guests' needs, and her positive attitude had a wonderful impact on our stay. She went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and is a real asset to the resort. Thank you, Sharene! We would happily return to Octopus Resort in the future and look forward to our next visit. The Octopus Resort was the third and final stop of my 2 week trip to the Yasawa Islands which was mostly to snorkel. Like Oarsman's Lodge and Barefoot Manta the snorkelling was excellent at times. I would be happy to return to all of them but they were quite different. Octopus is much smaller than Barefoot and unlike Oarsman it was not an adult only resort. It had a playground and a children's activity centre so if you don't like kids this probably isn't the place for you. I liked the mix of families and backpackers but it was quite loud and busy around the pool. The beach looked fantastic but it was hard to walk along and the ocean often was not a good place to swim because of the swells and rocks. The bar just above the beach was a great place to hang out at. The food at Octopus was my favourite and far superior to what Barefoot Manta served up. I liked that as a solo traveller they gave me the option to join a larger table at dinner. I have wonderful memories of the meals I shared with different young backpackers. The staff were all friendly and a joy to be around. They also were very good at what they did. My room was always well cleaned and I got good service at the reception, restaurant, and bar. I arrived in the afternoon and soon after checking in I went to the Scuba shop to pick up some gear and get in snorkelling. I was hugely disappointed to find out that the beach was closed because of the large swells. The next morning I headed into the water and through the opening in the rocks out to the reef. From the opening you could go either way so there was lots to see but the water was still rough so there were very few fish around and the water was not very clear. Despite this I went in 3 times that day. The next day the water was not much better but I was able to go out on a snorkel tour. I think they were limited where they could go because of the swells and the tour was disappointing. Based on my first 2 days I would not recommend Octopus for the snorkelling but the next 3 days were much better. The water was clear and there were plenty of the usual fish but what I really liked was the condition of the reef. There were some very colourful and unusually shaped coral and much of the reef was in good shape. The beach at Octopus seemed more exposed than the other 2 resorts so I wonder if the big swells are a common problem there. I look forward to going back and see what the weather and ocean is like. There were daily activities but for me there was not a lot to do other than snorkel or hang out by the pool

My partner and I had the best holiday and an amazing time at Octopus Resort. We stayed in the Poppy, which has direct beach access. The room was spotless, very spacious, and the bathroom had an open shower with excellent toiletries. We also had a hammock on the beach, which we enjoyed every day while watching the sunset. The Fijian people were incredibly welcoming, always taking care of us and making sure we enjoyed the food and the facilities. The food was delicious! Dinner included multiple courses with plenty of options, and breakfast offered many choices, including a buffet. Lunch was also generous, and we felt satisfied all day. There were many activities to choose from. We did the Shark Point snorkelling trip and were lucky to see a shark! The snorkelling right in front of the beach was also beautiful, with plenty of corals and fish. The cocktails and coffee were delicious! We will definitely come back!

Fantastic resort very well kept. Great pool and pool side beds as well as restuarant. The staff were lovely and it seemed very well run. The snorkelling although very very good left a little to be desired but probably because we had visited other resorts with slightly better snorkelling. Would recommend.

It’s a 1.5-hour boat ride to the resort, which is definitely worth it. For a family of four, we got a large room with one king bed, two bunk beds and two single beds in a separate room. There is a big hanging bed in our balcony with the beach in front. The restaurant and pool are next to the beach. The activities for each day are very dynamic, so don’t bother to book the activities before arrival. We booked in advance to snorkel with menta ray, but after checking in, we found that the day for the activity has changed, and there’s no schedule for this activity during our stay, which were disappointing. As we are in a group of four, they made an effort to meet our need, which we very much appreciated. The same applies to the morning hike to the top of the island, which is physically demanding but a great experience. We enjoyed our stay there.

This resort is so small, it feels so isolated tucked out of the way on the island. The room was lovely, the staff were really kind and the assistant manager was present at all times clearly very involved. He could remember all of us from when he greeted us and it made you feel very special. The dinner was delicious! 3 course menu, all cooked to perfection. The vegetarian burger at lunch was just mashed potatoes in a bun so would not recommend ordering that! But the relish and the chips on the burger were still delicious. The reef wasn't the best I've snorkelled but there are trips out to other reefs and the night snorkelling was a lot of fun and the guide was lovely. Would definitely return to this resort again

Absolutely unforgettable experience at Octopus Resorts in Fiji! The beauty of the resort is breathtaking, with lush gardens and tropical vibes. The private beach is stunning, with crystal-clear waters and a vibrant coral reef perfect for snorkeling. Our front beach private villa was a dream come true, with direct access to the beach and breathtaking ocean views.||The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making us feel like family. A special mention to Taina in the dining room, who not only provided amazing service with a smile but also remembered us from our visit 2 years ago! It was wonderful to see a familiar face and feel like we were coming home. The food was delicious, with a range of local Fijian dishes that showcased the best of the islands' cuisine.||If you're looking for a relaxing and luxurious getaway, Octopus Resorts is the perfect choice. We had an excellent experience and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a tropical paradise. We'll be back!
