Great resort, great food! I especially loved the 5 course menu they serve each Friday! I saw a comment about the food not being enough. It was so much that I did a few extra work outs to not gain extra weight ;-). We were here with our 2 year old daughter and they did everything to make our stay comfortable with her. The staff is so friendly and warm. Great people, they made us feel at home. Would really recommend. Book the beach front bura’s. These are the best!

What a paradise! We absolutely loved our stay at Octopus Resort—it’s truly an incredible place. The staff were exceptionally friendly, making us feel so welcome throughout our visit. The resort offers a variety of activities, both free and paid, and I highly recommend the snorkelling with fish feeding—it was an unforgettable experience!||The food was outstanding, with plenty of delicious options to choose from every day. On our return to Nadi, we booked the resort transfer, which was incredibly convenient as they dropped us off directly at the airport. Everything about our stay exceeded expectations. I highly recommend Octopus Resort to anyone looking for a perfect getaway!

We had a wonderful experience at the Octopus resort on Waya Island and we can’t recommend it enough. The vibe is relaxed, everyone was super lovely to our baby, food was amazing, everything is clean and pristinely tidy, there are plenty of daily activities to keep you entertained, the sand at the beach is super soft and the reef is fantastic. You can rent snorkels and fins for free, and there even are evening snorkelling sessions. There is live music in the evenings wish some amazing performers. You have the opportunity to visit the local village and see where most of the staff live and have a taste of their lifestyle and culture. The resort is definitely perfect for those that like to learn about Fijian culture and traditions. One of the managers, Shereen, was absolutely wonderful to our little one and even after a few weeks he is still asking for her and smiles when seeing their pictures together. There is a spa on site, a play room, a play ground, an activity room for the younger ones, an infirmary, a volleyball pitch, free water gear to borrow, a pool, fresh water showers everywhere, and more. The only downside is that we had to leave and come back to reality! Thank you all for making our stay so wonderful!

Paradise! We spent a week at Octopus - my husband and I, our grown children and 18 month old baby. Our stay couldn't have been better. The staff were exceptional, very responsive to requests, our accommodation was an exquisite location in a traditional bure right on the beach. Food was much better than I expected, the kitchen offering a varied and local menu. No one goes hungry for sure! Numerous activities were available every day. The hike and village visit were well worth the effort. I never found time for yoga. The scuba and snorkelling guys were really excellent and very professional. The snorkelling right off the beach is first-rate. Octopus has quite a diversified group of guests - families and kids, young single travellers and retired people. This appealed to us as opposed to an adults only resort. Transfers worked perfectly. I had superb online support from Robert while booking this trip for 6 of us. Many many thanks to all the local staff from the village. They are so welcoming and wonderfully kind.

We stayed for 6 nights and the best part about the resort is the location. The beach setting is definitely beautiful, with a long stretch of sand, clear water and impressive sunsets. The beachfront room was good too. Nothing fancy, but good with enough space, comfort and nice terrace to watch the ocean from. The bed was very comfortable. Some of the food was good but most of the food was not great. The portions were small, leaving us hungry after every meal. They also are very strict about only being able to order one dish at lunch, which was far from sufficient. Considering that you're forced to pay for their meal plan, at a pretty high price, being left hungry every day is not ideal. With the staff, a few were friendly but most were not. Even the foreign manager (I believe that's how they introduced him when we arrived) never smiled when we saw him and always seemed to avoid interacting with guests. It felt like everyone was plodding through the day, not really happy to be there, doing the bare minimum to make the place run. The overall vibe was very strange and awkward as a result. Again, the location is wonderful. But for the price, this is not a luxury resort. It's a 3* resort with prices that are too high for what they offer.

Absolutely loved our time at this resort. The staff were so friendly and welcoming. The food was excellent. The snorkeling right off the beach is amazing and really friendly for kids. The hike to Bula Peak was really beautiful. Highly recommend a stay here if you’re in the area.

Our overall experience was disappointing, mainly due to the poor value for money. While the resort is advertised as five-star, we would rate it a three-star at best. Perhaps we visited at the wrong time, but it did not live up to our expectations. Pros: The staff were friendly and welcoming. The location is right on the ocean, offering a quiet and relaxing atmosphere. Dinners were consistently delicious. Cons: The beds were extremely uncomfortable. Neither my partner nor I managed to get a proper night's sleep during our stay. At $500 AUD per night, we expected at least a decent level of comfort. Breakfast and lunch were disappointing—bland and uninspired. We were hoping for more authentic Fijian cuisine rather than basic Western dishes. Due to the weather, all the activities we had planned were canceled, including snorkeling and swimming. While this is not the resort’s fault, it left us with very little to do, which became frustrating. The boat transfer was overpriced ($199 FJD per person, one way) and uncomfortable. It’s a small, rocky boat—definitely not ideal for those with a sensitive stomach. Booking the ferry independently would be a much better and cheaper option. Final Verdict While the location and staff were great, the overall experience didn’t meet our expectations for the price. If you’re looking for a peaceful, off-the-grid escape and don’t mind limited activities, this could be a good option. However, if you expect true five-star comfort and service, you might want to explore other alternatives.

We stayed at Octopus Resort for 2 nights during our honeymoon and it was amazing. We stayed in one of the beach front bures and the view from our room was unreal. Different activities on offer which were fun, our favourite one was visiting the local village. Snorkelling was amazing! So many fish. Staff were mostly happy and welcoming. Food was good, only complaint we felt a bit rushed - we were still eating our first course and they were bringing out the next. Overall a very enjoyable stay, and we would visit again if in Fiji again.
