Modern and tasty brunch and breakfast spot. The restaurant itself was decorated lovely and the outdoor space was lovely even on a chilly day! Outstanding coffee, had to have 2 it was so good. We had the French toast and it was delicious with some great flavours. The menu itself is really fun and has some great savoury options as well, we will be back to try some more things on offer! Service was great and food came quickly despite being a popular time.

The environment is elegantly decorated, making it a comfortable place to enjoy brunch. The food was absolutely delicious — the avocado with potatoes was really tasty, I loved it! The fried chicken was also full of flavor, and the sauce made it irresistibly moreish. Parking around the area is easy. Definitely a must-visit!

My fav breakfast/ brunch spot at Queenstown. Walked in and was immediately seated. Ordered a tomato soup and Thai style rice porridge on a cold spring day. Tomato soup was our favourite, perfect thickness, right amount of savory. The bread that came with it and a generous serving of butter were good as well. Like all the other reviews mentioned , we ordered banana bread too, came with a serving of butter. Tasted amazing, soft, not too sweet. Definitely try. Their coffee wasn’t too bad either.

Spotted this place and decided to try it out for breakfast. Staff were very friendly and spot on with organising tables and how long the wait would be. We were told a table for 2 inside would be 15 minutes, and it was! Coffees were good and breakfast menu had a great selection. We went with the Brioche French Toast and Spiced Lamb. The french toast was actually really nice, but the cream was from a can and not fresh... The lamb was ok, tender but could have been a touch more spicy. Overall, we enjoyed it. Service was great and the wait for food was quick, for a busy café.

Cozy neighborhood cafe with amazing food. I ordered the zatar lamb hot pot which is very delivious. The meat is tender and juicy. The hummus on the side also tastes great.

After falling for a few tourist traps, this place was the true representation for quality food and service when it comes to brunch in Queenstown. Everything we had was extremely fresh and the flavors were absolutely amazing. Went back a few times during our stay and tried many different items on the menu...all were top notch delicious and every meal was quick and handcrafted from the kitchen. Service doesn't miss a beat here. Friendly and on-point from quick drinks upon seating to a warm good bye at the end. Wish we had more time to take advantage of the mimosa feature they had and literally try all breakfast and lunch items. Save your money and stomach for quality food at a reasonable price. Don't make the same mistakes we did. Plus the ambiance of the church nearby and how peaceful this quaint little corner is to wake up to in the morning is worth a short walk from wherever you are staying in QT. Enjoy your holidays. 🫶

I can’t believe this place has four different types of espresso martini on their breakfast menu, we tried all four of them and they were amazing! Great food, great mimosas and we enjoyed the live DJ who played during our brunch. James Ashwin Kakapo Business Sales

Great as always! Love all the different flavours they have, no better way to start my Sunday today! Can't wait to go back again!

Yelp
This restaurant has been replaced by another breakfast / brunch place called Odd Saint so different foods but still good. Just a heads up so you aren't disappointed when you can't find it!

Yelp
Had a take out coffee. Service was scattered upon trying to order. But yuck on the cappuccino. Old beans and unclean machine. Ick. $6.50 In the trash.

Yelp
Great place to start your day! They have huge selection in their menu so you will probably find something you like. Also they open really early, at 6am, so if you are an early bird you will appreciate their hours. I went with the vegetarian dish which was a good portion. It included two poached eggs, hash kumara, spinach, mushrooms, tomatoes, chickpeas and yogurt. I added black beans as a side. My wife went with avocado and feta and she thought it was good too so I'll take her word for that. Also they serve lemon, honey and ginger which is great if you have a cold like me during my stay in Queenstown!

Yelp
We had a voucher to eat dinner here through the tour company we were meeting up with so the decision on where to eat was made for us and we were very happy we ended up here! Eclectic menu offerings including many vegetarian and vegan options. I had the corn fritters and there was no doubt they were made with fresh corn. Crispy and flavorful. The potatoes were the best I've had in awhile- crispy on the outside and soft on the inside and salted to perfection. Husband had the ribeye which was cooked to perfection. We split a piece of cheesecake (daily special was passion fruit) and this was very unlike American (NY) cheesecake - it was light and fluffy as air and not at all dense. Almost wish I had my own piece. We will return for breakfast tomorrow (no voucher) because they open at 6am and reviews look good! Posting review now because don't know if we will have WiFi)

Yelp
This place is so good. They now have vegan nights on Tuesdays from 4 to 9pm. I've been coming here since 2016 for their roast pumpkin salad. I'm not even vegan but I love their food because it's so good you. You know how it is, sometimes you just cant eat healthy. But I will when I have the chance, and the place to eat would be here!

Yelp
Good food. Not too fussy. Decent prices.

Yelp
Amazing breakfast! Had the avocado toast and it was loaded with generous amounts of avocado and tomatoes. My boyfriend had the pancakes and they are delicious! I highly recommend this place for a delicious breakfast with friendly service!

Yelp
We wanted to come here for breakfast, but by the time we got there it was already lunch time. Now I am glad we had lunch because it was so good! I had the open faced chicken breast sandwich and my husband had one of the burgers. Both the food and the service were fantastic and I liked that they were slightly tucked away and not near the busiest parts of town. Great choice for a sit-down meal during our short stay in Queenstown and their takeaway display and coffees looked equally delicious! Note: The iced chai was one of the best things I have ever had!!! Seriously. And I don't really even have a sweet tooth.

Yelp
I went here for breakfast as heard they had a vegan option, but they had a whole vegan menu that was brilliant. I had the vegan breakfast with scrambled tofu on the side and it was delicious. Reasonably priced and good service too. The cafe has a cool vibe and we felt like we could hang around as long as we liked. Would definitely recommend!

Yelp
Had breakfast here two days in a row while visiting Queenstown. I can see why it's a popular establishment. Food was delicious and the coffee was spot on. I like that they don't make you feel rushed even if the place is hopping busy. Friendly staff was also a big plus. Will seek this place out, again, the next time we're in Queenstown.

Yelp
The food and coffee here are so good! We were here for breakfast. You seat yourself, then a waitress will come bring you menus and water. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. The wait staff was super friendly. I had the corn fritters with streaky bacon as well as a mocha. My boyfriend had the breakfast burrito and a latte. The corn fritters had actual whole kernels of corn in them which I loved. It was a relatively light, healthy meal. And the streaky bacon in New Zealand overall is so amazing. I wish we had that kind of bacon in America. The mocha was also great...nice and smooth. My boyfriend said his meal was really good too. The food was so fresh, something I'm not used to having.

Yelp
Stopped by Halo for lunch and was quite pleased. First off, the service was fantastic. We never had to ask for more water, we were regularly checked on without the staff being intrusive and they actually asked if if we'd like our bill! (So far we've practically had to beg to pay at the end of a meal.) Shared the open face BLT and jerk chicken app with my husband. Both dishes were good. I saw a few of the breakfast dishes and they looked pretty delicious. The place also serves dinner and it looks like it turns into a classier place in the evening. Prices were decent and there's plenty of patio seating.

Yelp
We were staying nearby and I decided to try this place for breakfast. It was a good choice! I had eggs, toast, bacon and a great cup of coffee. Good service. I visited in Mar 2017

Yelp
Cute little cafe with great breakfast. We were seated promptly, the service was great and the food came out piping hot within a very reasonable time. I ordered a breakfast burrito with chorizo. The burrito is a good size portion filled with a generous portion of black beans, eggs, veggies and chorizo. It has a good spicy kick to it. The hubs ordered a breakfast platter which was pretty standard but delicious nevertheless. The chai latte was sweet but very good and to my liking. We ordered a side of pancakes and they were very good... so fluffy and moist. There is a takeout counter for coffee and pastries. The muffins looked amazing. The menu has good variety and would please anyone in your party. They have a vegan menu that looks delicious and the drinks menu is extensive. The outside patio is super cute and perfect on a day with good weather. The location is perfect for a stroll down to the lake and through the various shops and cafes. Street parking is available and was not a problem on a Sunday morning for brunch.

Yelp
Loved this little restaurant! Unassuming and right off the main lakeside road, it has a cozy atmosphere with friendly service. And the portions were HUGE! I had a breakfast burrito that made me oh so happy and I told myself I wouldn't eat it all but I *almost* did. It was just. That. Good. They have some basic breakfast options with lots of add-ons if you're trying to save a buck. You had me at chorizo...Casual atmosphere with great food and coffee, what more can you ask for?

Yelp
Had breakfast two days in a row here. We'd eaten here back in Feb and it's tasty, big breakfasts and good coffees and smoothies. Service was lacking in the Sunday morning - hangovers affecting the team? In summer you can sit outside, in winter inside is warm & cozy. A must eat at when in Queenstown.

Yelp
Come for the food, stay for the great coffee. The service here is impeccable; the staff is well-trained and provide expert service. For this reason, I've been here three times in the last two days. Wish I knew early on during my stay in Queenstown.

Yelp
Halo Forbidden Bite was quite delicious! I recommend it if you're in the area! For food, we had the avocado&feta smash w bacon, kids pancakes, juevos rancheros, porridge, and eggs Benedict. All were fantastic. The servers were nice and brought some crayons and a stuffed animal for our 15 month old son to play with. There was a bit of a mix up with the bill at the end of the meal that could have been a ~$200.00 difference, but the server sorted it out with no issues. It's in a quaint part of town near a nice little sitting park and stream.

Yelp
Great place to come and grab some breakfast or lunch. The staff is very friendly and there's a cool bote on the back of their shirts. Their Breakfast Bun with bacon was very good and the portion was just large enough :) Their lunch however was subpar, we ordered the fish n chips and the quality does not compare to the other dishes we've had here. The breading was very soggy and wet, not crispy whatsoever. I'd still recommend the place for breakfast but would encourage anyone to avoid the fish n chips.

Yelp
Parked right next to this at the other end of Queenstown as everything was full. Glad we went there as the 2 burgers we had were excellent and the food at other tables looked very nice too ! Thought I should have gone for the Salmon breakfast. Looked great. All in all very nice food. Great spot to sit down and no silly queues like at that overrated Ferg Burger joint...

Yelp
We came here for a Sunday breakfast on a busy event weekend in town. We lucked out and got a patio seat straight away and enjoyed the sunshine and outdoor eating ambiance. We ordered coffee (fantastic!) and hot chocolate which were wisked to us quickly as we checked out the extensive menu. Our party ordered the breakfast burrito and the poached eggs and bacon on ciabatta bread, both were delicous and the poached eggs were perfect. Great spot, love the outdoor seating, easy parking and great food and coffee. Well done.

Yelp
Good vegan spot too. The coffee was great. They have alternative milk options. Will go back to try other food options.

Yelp
The best place for breakfast in Queenstown their food is beautiful and rustic. The coffee is good. Much better than Starbucks. Pricey, but worth it 100%. Nice place to stop for some modern decor and food before heading to Glenorchy. Highly recommend. I recommend the Big breakfast.

Yelp
Much like Yonder down the road, breakfast, lunch, tea or drinks Halo does it all. Additionally an excellent layout and atmosphere.

Yelp
The food and the service are awesome!! They have a very healthy menu. This place is very cozy to hang out too. Will definitely come back again!!!

Yelp
Great coffee and takeaways breaky burgers before our big day exploring Queenstown! The only place we've had coffee from twice

Yelp
They serve a tasty breakfast from 0700-1500. Service was fast and friendly and our orders came out as specified (omit this, add that). Scrambled eggs, bacon (ham), and two giant pieces of sourdough toast for me and toast and jam for my partner. Orange juice was perfect, not overly sweet. Great location relative to our hotel (Novotel).

Yelp
I just had one of the best burgers and fries ever. The fries, although I usually prefer shoestring, where thick cut, but perfectly crispy and adequately salted even to my salt addicted palate. The burger had a very well balanced amount of greenery, meat and bacon, topped off with Swiss cheese and aioli. The meat was cooked to perfection with not a hint of dryness. Last but not least, the service was friendly and efficient. I highly recommend Halo for a very satisfying and reasonably priced lunch experience.

Yelp
Ate a super early dinner here a few days ago on a whim and was pleasantly surprised. The service was excellent and speedy (although we were one of only two tables dining at the time). Had some prawns (very yummy) and salmon (well cooked). Finished with a gluten free pistachio apricot slice (surprisingly light and tasty). Sat at one of the outside tables. It's on a quieter street than many of the other Queenstown restaurants and also a block back from the lakefront. Would definitely eat here again!

Yelp
Needed to find a palatable cup of coffee after traveling for over a week. Good cup of cafe Americano, unfortunately they don't open til 7 sm, which means I had to down a cup or two of hotel room swill b efore then.

Yelp
The food here was fantastic! My partner and I came here after a day of hiking/zip lining/jet boating and we were starving. We got the recommendation from Jessie at ZipTrek (zip lining) who advised us to use First Table when booking. We couldn't thank her enough for it. I had the prawns appetizer + the southland lamb rump while my girlfriend had the curry soup (soup of the day) with gumard as the dinner entree. We were not disappointed! The prawns were fresh and well seasoned while the lamb rump was tender and left me wanting more. My girlfriend cleaned both her plates! Service was good and the ambience was nice and peaceful. Check it out!!

Yelp
My husband and I stopped in for lunch a few days ago and we're so glad we did! I had the roast pumpkin/ carrot/quinoa salad and he had the chicken and cashew salad. OMG! They were so delicious! They had seating inside, but we sat outside, which was really pleasant underneath the shade of the trees. I will be back for another meal before we leave Queenstown.

Yelp
We totally enjoyed ourselves at breakfast here. We were at the Sofitel at the other end of town, but the walk is nice and the town is small. I highly recommend this place. It is right next to the cute church. Nice people. If you are from the US, the portions are really big. Also, you are supposed to go up to the cash register to pay. It is actually quite nice since no one ever takes your credit care away.
