"Wow! What an incredible dining experience! The ambiance was fantastic, the service impeccable, and the food absolutely delicious. The Nashville fried chicken sandwich was astonishingly good, and the oysters were fresh and flavorful, complemented by an array of 8 delightful sauces. We also tried the beef tartare, which was expertly prepared and absolutely delicious. For my birthday, they surprised me with Pumpkin Fritters with cinnamon, caramel, and powdered sugar. I'm not usually a dessert fan, but this was perfectly balanced in sweetness—a real treat! If you're a foodie, this place is a must-visit. Highly recommended!" Oh.. sorry for the broken frame. My bad

Loved the food and the place. Everything was on point. The server (young lady) was ensured that she provided good service and followed up if all was okay. Even though we specially drove from Toronto, but it was definitely worth it. One thing that should have more information about is whether there are halal options or not as the statement shifted on the two different days I called in for a confirmation.

This is one of my favourite restaurants to dine in. The service is top notch & second to none. Each cocktail is carefully thought out, inventive , and inviting. The food is phenomenal. I highly recommend the Beef Tartare and the Truffle Fries, and of course the fried chicken. As an avid fried chicken lover, I know my friend chicken…. and Oddbird is one of the best. The fried chicken is crispy, sumptuous, and heavenly, Thank you Ryan, Michael , and Stewart for always making my dining experience an absolute treat.

We have been wanting to try this restaurant for some time, but finally made it while in the area this past week. We decided to share a bunch of different things, and everything we tried was amazing! There was nothing we regretted choosing during our meal. The place is small, but we managed to snag seats on the patio on a weeknight; I can only imagine how hard it can be on weekends! Our server was very friendly and was helpful in terms of recommending dishes. The selection of beer and drinks was also really good. It is mainly for adults; they were very accommodating to our family, but we fed our kids prior to going because we knew there wouldn't be much for them (might not be a place to take your kids unless your children are older or adventurous eaters).

My wife and I went to Oddbird. for the first time tonight. I have been waiting a while now to go. My God, was it worth the wait! We ordered a bunch of dishes and shared everything. Perfect way to go! Let's start with our server, Michael. Absolutely awesome! He helped set up our meal choices in an order that flowed beautifully. He knew the menu well and explained it perfectly. I won't go into detail about the food, simply because it needs to be experienced, not described. Just know that the combinations and flavors were completely on point and we were left fully satisfied at the end. This place and all of its staff deserve every bit of praise that one can muster. I only took 1 pic of the food, so be thankful for it.

This culinary gem is a masterclass in bold flavors, refined execution, and an atmosphere that hums with fun energy. Its menu is a dynamic showcase of innovation, offering dishes that are both thoughtfully composed and deeply satisfying. The blackened octopus is a triumph: tender, charred to perfection, and balanced with bright, contrasting flavors. The lobster rigatoni, rich and indulgent, highlights the chef’s skill in seafood. The Australian Wagyu picanha, and the Seared Quebec Foie Gras, are nothing short of sublime - underscoring the kitchen’s ability to transform humble ingredients into culinary gold. Each plate is designed not only for taste but for sheer visual artistry, a feast for both the palate and the eyes. A particular standout is the escargot, reimagined with a modern touch that enhances its delicate texture and deep umami profile. Bathed in a luxurious sauce, each bite is a testament to the restaurant’s ability to elevate classic ingredients into something extraordinary. Service is impeccable—attentive yet unobtrusive, knowledgeable yet warm. The staff’s expertise shines through in their thoughtful recommendations, ensuring that each guest feels not just welcomed, but truly cared for. OddBird is not merely a restaurant; it is an experience. A place where flavors are bold, execution is precise, and every detail—from the ambiance to the final bite—is carefully curated. A true standout in St. Catharines, one that demands a return visit, and one that deserves every bit of its stellar reputation!

I had an exceptional dining experience here. The menu offers a fantastic variety of dishes, each bursting with flavor. Their signature chicken is a must-try! The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive as well. Highly recommend this place!

Google
My wife and I wanted to celebrate our 10 year anniversary in a nice restaurant with great food and a good vibe. This restaurant did more than check all the right boxes. This restaurant falls into a category that goes far beyond what we would have ever imagined. To say that our experience was exceptionally good would be an understatement. The word amazing comes close but doesn’t necessarily capture what we experienced. From our perspective this restaurant has risen our already high standard for quality food and customer satisfaction. The service we received from Michael went far above good, great and amazing. The service, music and the atmosphere were all well received. Our appreciation and gratitude to the chefs and owners. We look forward to the next time we visit.

Yelp
We were referred by a winemaker in the area & also our son in law had it on his list. Very small, and an attached patio with just maybe three tables. We had taken in a bottle of wine (corkage fee $10 CAD), so we missed out on the delicious looking cocktails. We shared some oysters (served with an option of 8 different sauces), very good, then the mussels (ask for extra garlic bread to get as much of the delicious curry sauce as possible!), the veal cheek--divine! Buttery, melt in your mouth, so freakin' good! Then shared the lobster & chorizo risotto. I'm very fussy about risotto, and it was as creamy, tasty & delicious as I've ever had! The chorizo was smoky & chewy, really exceptional, and paired with the lobster, a nice contrast of flavor. Loved our meal and the service was extremely good! Just wish I'd taken pictures of our dishes--sorry. So much wine tasting that day, LOL. We just wanted to enjoy each dish as it came out. Small kitchen, food comes out a little slowly, so make sure you cover a couple hours of parking on your meter!

Yelp
From finger food to fine dining. Everything is top notch. Really great atmosphere. A star in the middle of Ontario.

Yelp
I'll start off with a negatives although it's not really a negative. The place is a little small so it's jampacked which is an amazing thing, because that just means they have a great place, I highly suggest to get a larger place because I think it would be absolutely full. The food is absolutely fantastic so delicious so fresh so yummy and the service was the BEST in the Niagara region and I don't say that lightly. From the moment we walked in the doors we were greeted. We were asked if we were returning guests or if we were new. We were new at that time and we will be back. From the moment we walked in the doors. We were treated as if we belong there like we were important, this place has such a small town vibe. I felt like I travelled to the East Coast and everybody was excited to see you and so chill. What a great experience thank you oddbird

Yelp
This place is really awesome if you like small intimate bars with great food. It's a genuine gastropub but has a cool bohemian feel to it. We had drinks - great cocktails - and two appies. The beef tartar was delicious. Beautifully balanced with capers and served with delicate toast. We also had the foie gras. Again, top class. The clientele here is hip millennials and the atmosphere is cool and laid back. It's not cheap, but where is these days? We will be back for a full meal soon. I highly recommend it!

Yelp
Incredible unpretentious super delicious food with a welcoming staff and fun, chill vibe. What more can you want?! We sat at the bar so we got to see the talented chefs at work - so fun! Our server hd great beer knowledge and was super friendly. We ordered the beef tartare, butternut squash, burger and fried chicken.... All were winners! Can't wait to check out their sister pizza and beer spot too!!

Yelp
Amazing food! All shareable plates, and every bite was fantastic. Great craft cocktails, too. The wait staff was friendly and made great recommendations.

Yelp
Food: 8/10 Environment: 8/10 Service: 10/10 I think this is the best restaurant in St. Cat / Niagara area. Wasn't a fan of the fried chicken (that's just me) but everything else we ordered on the menu was flipping delish! I'd definitely return

Yelp
We went here on a busy Saturday during COVID, we got here early and good thing we did. By the time we finished it was getting quite busy and they don't take reservations. The menu is ever changing as is the cocktail menu. We started with oysters that are $2 from 2pm-5pm, they were so fresh and tasty. I ordered the deep fried avocado po boy. A friend ordered the salmon tartar with deep fried avocado. The food was fantastic. All fresh and made with care. The place was bopping and had a great vibe, it felt like something you would find in the big city. This is one of the best places to go in the city by far. Can't wait to go back.

Yelp
Oddbird came highly recommended by my nephew who lives in St. Catharines and has eaten there several times. I did find the food very tasty and menu items were unique. The ambience was trendy and staffs were friendly. A few issues that lead to 4 star instead of 5. The menu was on two chalkboards, one for lunch and the other for dinner, but dishes were not grouped by appetizers or sides or entree. I suppose no one would order a plate of shishito peppers as their main course. The volume of food is small in general. None of the sandwiches or burgers came with sides. A sandwich was made with a baguette of perhaps 5 inches long. I would say 3 dishes for 2 people. I also found the seasoning of food was more intense than my preference. I tried the mussels, lamb flatbread and shishito pepper. My least favorite was the lamb flatbread, while the shredded braised Indian curry lamb was good, the flatbread which was cooked on a flattop grill, turned out to be a bit oily and the charred area was hard, not like a real Indian nan from a tandoor.

Yelp
I came here on a date night in St. Catherine's and found the vibe to be like average trendy chalkboard on the wall, dim lighting type of feel. I liked the friendliness of the staff- inviting but not pushy. I just felt like the food could have been better. Maybe I didn't order the right things but I had asked for recommendations from the server. 1. Brie toast Kind of feels like a giant piece of brie over bread. The plums that came with it were good but they used the same thing over the scallops and it felt kind of samey. I would've liked at least the brie to be more melted. 2. Seared scallops The scallops were nice! They have that good flavour but it felt a bit like they just threw random stuff with it. I don't think the things tasted that good together. 3. Gnocchi Really umami. I love that taste. I've had similar things in the past but would've liked greater quantity - could have done without the shavings. The food is pretty good but every time I felt like it was missing something to elevate it to that next level. I would say it is one of the only restaurants in St. Catherine's of its type. I just wish they would give you either more food to make you more satisfied or have some more wow factor to each dish.

Yelp
Phenomenal burger and the drink was amazing too I can't even explain how good the combo was!

Yelp
The food was excellent. Did not have to wait long on a Friday night. It did start pouring down real hard that I had to get my food to go after my beer. Great local beer selection. Very trendy place. It is very small inside and their patio is pretty good. The chicken sandwiches were amazing. I would totally eat there again. 2 beers, 2 sandwiches was $53

Yelp
I don't often write reviews. But. Fried. Friggin. Chicken. This is one of the newest and obviously most delicious restaurants not only in St. Catharines but in the Niagara Region. We started with the shishito peppers which were topped with sea salt and came with delicately shredded parmesan. Top notch. Moved on to the chicken live brulee with house cured pickled veg and crostinis. The smooth mouthfeel of the pate was masterfully cut with the sweet bruleed top. Awesome. Our group also ordered the octopus and potato pancakes which were perfect and not overly oily. Finally. Fried. Friggin. Chicken. This was one of the most succulent fried chicken sandwiches I've had in a while. We got the Haggard sauce which is their take on Mac sauce. The breading was crunchy but not too rich and the bun was nicely toasted while retaining it's softness. Luscious. Would definitely recommend anyone to go out of their way to find this gem and enjoy their cooking. The staff were amazing and were obviously enjoying their work which made the experience and meal even better. Their mixologist poured up some dang fine concoctions as well. Can't wait to go back!

Yelp
Came here with my S.O. for lunch. I was really excited to try this local restaurant I've heard so much just about. We ordered 4 things: Feature Thai Coconut Soup, Haggard Burger, Fried Chicken Sandwich Nashville style and Salt and Vinegar Potatoes. The soup I found the acid profile very high, with very subtle hints of coconut. My S.O. loved the soup though, so if he's happy I'm pretty happy. The Haggard burger tastes exactly like a Big Mac according to him, minus extra patty and middle bun. I don't know for sure since I haven't had a Big Mac in years. I thought it was tasty, but he felt he was just eating an expensive Big Mac. The Nashville Fried Chicken sandwich was described to me as 'very spicy' by our server. I decided to go with that one. I was totally surprised by what made it spicy was what appears to be and tastes like chili oil. But what really took me a back was the sheer amount of it! To be fair ive never had Nashville fries chicken but after a little google search I understand what it is now. Still, the fried chicken seemed like it was literraly dunked in their hot oil and put right on my bun. It was absolutely soaking to the point of having to ask the server to get me another plate and ditch the bottom of the bun! I wanted to love this sandwich (mind you the fried chicken itself was juicy, flavorful and crispy), but that oil drench has to go. My constructive criticism would be to let the oil drain before putting it on the bun. I also think putting lettuce and what I think was mayo didn't really do much to compliment the sandwich. I think a coleslaw of some kind to cut the grease would have made it way more palatable. Again, I acknowledge the fact that I ordered something I've never tried before, but I just felt that level of oiliness was really too much. The salt and vinegar potatoes is essentially salt and vinegar chips, but thicker cut of potato rather than chips of course. Crispy yet fleshy, and I'm a die hard fan of Salt and Vinegar, so it was my favourite dish of the night. I think maybe they did a great job recreating classic old old times food? But overall we weren't exactly satisfied by our sandwiches. Service wasn't bad, but didn't get asked how our sandwiches were. Would we come back again? Maybe...but probably not in a while. I just hope they take my honest review into consideration. Ambiance - 4/5 Service - 3.5/5 Food - 3/5 Price - 4/5 (lunch menu prices isn't terrible)

Yelp
I loved our dinner here-if you are looking for something different but amazing this is it! My husband and I were enjoying a little vacay in Niagara on the Lake and decided to head to St.Catherines for dinner. I wanted local, interesting and different and the Oddbird did not disappoint. It's small, the menu changes often-so often that it's written on a giant chalk board-with a lot of tapas sized dishes and mains to satisfy any tastes. Local beer and wines, and interesting cocktails round out said chalkboard. It's got an open kitchen-it's literally right there-you can see everything that's happening. The choice of music-in a hot summer day Eminem wasn't really my jam, but I digress. To start we had fried olives-from two olive lovers-where have these been all my life? and a pork and venison terrine that was accompanied by dill pickles, dijon and crispy little toasts-it was bursting with flavor and we fought over the last piece. For mains-we had a tough time deciding-hubby had a seared scallop and pork belly roll that was pretty outstanding but move over scallops we decided that I had the better of the two with an earthy dish of hand rolled ricotta gnocchi, roasted mushrooms and shaved truffles-this was by far one of the best things I've ever had...ever....I have never wanted to lick out a bowl so badly! Well done Oddbird, well done-we will be back, not soon enough, but we will

Yelp
We came here based on some positive yelp reviews, and we were not let down. I got the gnocchi and my wife got the fried chicken, and it was the best gnocchi and fried chicken either of us had ever had -- the gnocchi in particular blew me away. One note: this is not a family-friendly restaurant. I would not bring kids here. It's also a pretty small space -- better for 2 or 3 people than for a big party.

Yelp
Excellent find when staying in St Catharines! We stumbled across this fantastic small open air restaurant. Thought it might be just fried chicken but we were pleasantly surprised. The lobster pasta (casarecce) was outstanding! We also had fried chicken, caesar salad and a chicken sandwich (because the fried chicken really was fantastic). Everything was delicious. Our server gave genuine recommendations (of everything!), the beer was great & we left super satisfied. Might even go back tonight!! Thank you Oddbird!

Yelp
I haven't written a review in years but I feel I have to tell you this place will not disappoint. We sat at bar and gott to watch all different ent items go by which made it so hard to decide. We had lunch menu and went with their classic haggard burger..... seriously best burger I've had that I can remember. The truffle fries, mock tail with pineapple and anise bitters---what?? We might be back for dinner tonight since we head back to Milwaukee tomorrow! Oh and did I mention thhe hip hop!

Corey B.

Yelp
Holy crap ! The food was epic and our server ( Brandon ) went above and beyond to make us comfortable ! We will be back often

Yelp
If you think you should come to the Niagara region for the wine, think again, this place is the new reason. We came here for the TD Tailgate and considered forgoing the night and blending lunch into dinner into a night cap. We sat at the bar, chatted with the owners and had a blast. Get on a plane, hop in an Uber, drive and get a hotel, ride your bike, run, walk, whatever you have to do to get to this place, just do it. The Tailgate is only until 10, if it's still rocking, we will be back before heading back to the hotel. Should be in the Canada Top 50!!!!

Yelp
On the recommendation of a pal, we checked out OddBird while on a mini vacation to the Niagara area. A super cute little patio with a verrrrry extensive & unique menu! I had fish and chips to split with my fry loving kiddo and my partner had the general Tao chicken sandwich. We also split a delicious Caesar. Definitely would like to come back and try some of the more adventurous items on their menu!! Also I am obsessed with their fishbowl wine glasses (I need some).

Yelp
Very friendly staff but I was not happy. Only 4 small ravioli for an entree -- unforgivable. I came hungry and I left hungry. Not too many options for vegetarians here and everything was very oil-drenched.
google avatar

Yelp
Beef game on point. An epic meal end to end. Literally nothing was less than excellent and legitimately some of the best steak I've had in ages!
google avatar

Jayme S.

Yelp
Do yourself a favor and eat here! Everything nose-to-tail, vegetables, and even the pickled garnish were amazing. The staff is great and the open kitchen concept adds to the relaxed vibe. We didn't drink alcohol, but the cocktail menu looked amazing.

Yelp
Best place downtown. Friendly. Great staff, especially Jamie. Chefs are right there and always cool. Incredible menu. Worth the price. I've never felt rushed at all, I like that so much, to order a drink, then food, then more drinks & more food. Other restaurants downtown should follow the lead of not rushing you out.
google avatar

Meghan C.

Yelp
My husband and I rarely get out but when we do we bounce between a few fun places here in Niagara. This is a fun place to eat. Great cocktails, exceptional staff and everything they make is insanely delicious. The music is usually loud and if you don't mind gangsta rap or anything trendy you will love it. I've been more times than I can count and have not taste a thing I would give less than a 10 out of 10. Odd bird is a hidden gem.

Don C.

Yelp
My friend cried one night at dinner here because the food was so good, true story. Can't wait for the bar to open up so I can see what else these guys can do.

Yelp
Went here for the first time last week, and it won't be my last time. When we arrived, there were no seats available and they don't take names. However, the waitress guided us toward the back bar where we grabbed drinks from the bartender, who knew his beer well (bonus points from a craft beer lover). We were seated shortly after at the bar in front of their kitchen set up - which ended up being the best seat since you get to see the chefs create your dish. We got the mozzarella sticks (melt in your mouth crunchy goodness), horse heart (did not predict to find this on the menu and was pleasantly surprised) and taco platter (enough for 3 people with excellent medium rare butter soaked steak). If you're looking for a place to test your tastebuds with unique and delicious flavours, this is where to go.

Yelp
When I entered the restaurant with my friend we were instantly greeted by the hostess and told where we could sit where we want. From there the hostess took approximately 5 minutes to actually come over to us and explain the menu which was on the wall (in chalk, which was a cool touch) and how the restaurant works but it was incredibly hard to hear her because she was speaking so quietly. After reading the menu and deciding what we were ordering a different man (possibly the owner or manager) took our orders and had excellent customer service, very nice and polite. The hostess brings us our food and the presentation was gorgeous, i ordered the avocado and salmon (not sure what the dish was called) but it looked as good as it tasted.. the flavours complimented each other very well.. my dish was $12 but it was very small but extremely tasty and filling. The hostess came and checked on us a couple times but only addressed my friend and how her food was & didnt even look at me which i found strange. She then pays little attention on me and only to my friend the rest of the night (only refilling her water & not asking if i wanted a refill) so that was another turn off.. for the record i wasnt rude or anything at all to her the one time she actually spoke tp both of us so i dont understand the cold shoulder. After our meal we ask for the bill and puts it all on one when we wanted separate ones and placed it in front of me. Not to mention it was not busy at all when we went but it still took her forever to clear away our dishes and get our bill. Overall the food is delicious and the atmosphere and decorations is very rustic and has a southern feel but is extremely small eating space. The reason it doesnt have 5 stars is the incredibly poor service towards me from the hostess girl.

Kayla C.

Yelp
We ordered a wide variety of different food and beers and everything was spectacular. The food was interesting and fun, while still being approachable and tasty. Very reasonable pricing on everything. Service was very friendly and knowledgeable. Will deffs be back!

Erica V.

Yelp
Everything was absolutely impeccable here! I left feeling full and thoroughly satisfied. The service was spot on & the staff was super knowledgeable. I always get nervous trying new restaurants, especially boutique-styled ones as I am a vegetarian but there was a variety of options for me to choose from. Not only was our food delicious and fresh, but our drinks were made by the bartender Dana with such care and precision. The whole atmosphere is warm and cozy. Looking forward to returning soon!!

Mikaela B.

Yelp
Great place to get drinks! The bartender Stuart was absolutely amazing. He was so friendly and very knowledgeable about his craft. Overall really nice atmosphere, will definitely be back next time I'm in town!

Yelp
I have never been so motivated to write a review. Went once and put up with the incredibly rude service staff but did have a fantastic meal so thought I'd take my husband to experience the food. Tried to get a table and the girl who greeted us as if we were doing her a disservice for wanting to spend our well earned money to sit and dine there told us it was at least an hour wait, we could not put our name on a list and to pretty much leave. We said we would wait an hour and she walked away and complained to another server about us wanting to wait for a table and came back and rudely said "yeah were full..." and showed us out the door. Not to mention the fact that while we stood there we witnessed a couple at the bar pay and leave the restaurant which clearly means they had room to fill. The pretentious attitude is not what I am used to in friendly and welcoming St. Catharines. Will not be back and I would suggest to anyone not to waste your time here. Friendly suggestion: figure out a better system to accommodate guests wanting to dine with you and hire friendlier service staff.
