Oddfellows On The Park

I have just been for afternoon tea with Father Christmas and daughter and granddaughter. It was fabulous on all counts! Father Christmas was fantastic and he didn't rush but spent time with Élodie and he was very patient with her. The food was of very good quality and plentiful. But the best part was the staff: cheerful, smiling and nothing too much trouble! I will recommend Oddfellows to all my friends and family..... thank you for a wonderful experience! Have an amazing Christmas!

Me and my boyfriend stayed in this wonderful hotel set in an 1860s building, and it truly has so much character! There were a few heating issues during our visit, which is completely understandable in a property of this age, but the staff couldn’t have been more helpful or proactive about it. They immediately provided backup heaters, and an engineer arrived promptly—conveniently while we were in the bar enjoying some amazing cocktails!||These things happen, and it was very clear that none of it was the fault of the staff. The team here are an absolute credit to the hotel. Our room was beautiful, full of character and comfort, and the breakfast was delicious with just the right portions and high-quality ingredients.||Overall, despite the minor hiccup, we had a wonderful stay thanks to the excellent staff, lovely rooms, and superb food. We will be back very soon!

I stayed here last night with my wife and 6 year old. We were warmly welcomed by Peter who couldn’t do enough for us. The room was lovely. Even though there was an office Christmas party going on downstairs we weren’t disturbed. It’s a wonderful old building, full of character and quirkily, but beautifully, decorated. We had room service which was delicious. Freshly made Pepperoni pizza (definitely not out of a freezer), burger and a perfectly cooked sirloin and desserts. All part of the Half board package. Breakfast was great - evident they source good ingredients for the kitchen. We had a lovely stay, I’m very happy to recommend and would certainly book again. Thank you.

Stayed for business and found this to be a wonderful , charming hotel and grounds. All of the staff were happy, friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Quick to action any requests or additions and without fuss.||The room was beautiful, well designed and homely. The only issue I had at this hotel was the unfortunate timing of the heating system not working. This resulted in a very cold room during the day and even colder in the evening which was very unpleasant to sleep / stay in.||Breakfast was great and high quality and staff within the restaurant were friendly and welcoming.||I would definitely stay again and would recommend

Stayed one night with my partner, had the dinner for two deal. Stud bar was excellent, barman friendly and made a mean cocktail. Reception and restaurant staff were also friendly and helpful. The food and atmosphere in the restaurant were of really high quality and the breakfast was also amazing. Would recommend. Rooms and facilities were first rate.

Came for my brother's wedding an it was a beautiful day. Helped by brilliant attentive staff. The room I stayed in was truly lovely. Slept so well. Michelle on the reception desk went above an beyond for me as did the other reception staff. Food was superb. Also the coffee is fantastic 😊 well worth a visit!

We stayed three nights at this hotel for a family get together. The hotel is pleasant, although I would not describe it as "luxury" as it rates itself. The grounds are lovely and I didn't mind the aircraft noise. It's unavoidable if you want to stay in this location. ||However when we there 2 days ago the heating was not working in the bedrooms. I didn't complain at first because I was out and lot with family and I thought I was just being stupid with the heating control. On the third night I was staying in the room most of the evening and tried to get some help. Rang reception, got no reply. Eventually found someone who said the heating was accidentally set to cool and had been rectified but when I got back later nothing had changed. Next morning at checkout I said it had really marred our stay. The receptionist then admitted the bedroom heating wasn't working but that "engineers would be in next week and said "a lot of guests have been unhappy ". I asked why we weren't told at check in and was referred to a sign on the desk saying that some rooms did not have working air conditioning. I had ignored that as I knew I wouldn't need air conditioning. ||On my return I made an official complaint but was again told it was down to the temp being set to "cool", ignoring what I had been told and experienced. ||My brother and sister also staying experienced the same issue. I understand things can break down but we should have been told when we arrived and suitable arrangements made to warm the room or discount our stay. I don't consider working heating a "luxury". ||Very disappointing. The hotel has offered me a free night in the next 6 months but I live in Devon and am very unlikely to be back.

Lovely hotel, staff were really helpful from checking in to dinner and drinks in the evening everyone was really friendly, room was spotless and loved how quirky the whole hotel is. It’s not everyday you see a moose head in reception. Thank you everyone for making our stay so enjoyable. Will be back very soon
