This was my 3rd visit in the last 10 years... It was every bit as good as my first two times! I was greeted when I walked in, seated quickly and my waitress was "on her job!" My meal came out surprisingly quick and was very hot when it arrived. Possibly the best Chicken Pot Pie I've ever had... My Key Lime Pie appeared a little small, but I have to admit, it was so rich and delicious, I couldn't have eaten any more had it been any bigger! Friendly atmosphere, friendly staff! Prices were fair for a very good meal!

Best Wings in Wisco! Polish sausage and Slaw are great too. Love this place

Google
Cozy neighborhood spot with pretty great bar food and plenty of space. Super friendly staff. Service can be slow at times, but this place is often hopping! Two dings off of atmosphere because their ventilation system is more of a suggestion than anything else. Expect to leave this place smelling like fryer grease. We love to come here for our book club- just aim for a wash day!

Google
What an incredible gem! We stumbled on this place kind of on accident and we’re so glad we did! As we were enjoying our delicious meal and beers, we noticed what a true neighborhood pub feel it had. Friends and family were meeting up for dinner with laughter and hugs all around. The owner, Jamie, checked on our table and we struck up a conversation. Such a warm, welcoming atmosphere! They even had a young lad from Ireland singing and playing traditional Irish songs. We’ll be back for Milwaukee Irish Fest and O’Donoghue’s will be top of the list! Thank you, Jamie, for your amazing hospitality!

Google
The food was really good, atmosphere was okay. Our waitress was very abrupt and hardly came around, took surprisingly long to get a beer considering it didnt seem too busy. Also considering this is a very laid back bar grill setting the food was more expensive than to be expected. Not somewhere i would go out of my way for but if I were in the area and tasted up for a rueben I would go back there.

Google
What an absolute joy! We came in from out of town and found this fantastic spot by pure chance. I felt like I stepped into a pub in Ireland with the craic (friendly conversation), the food, and the perfect pours of Guinness. There was an Irish musician playing an acoustic set that we were lucky enough to sit in on. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere was incredible. This is a great spot for families or just grabbing a pint at the bar. I’d come back to Milwaukee just to hang out here again!

Google
Visited for a fairly late dinner yesterday evening. The service was spot on the food was excellent. I ordered a "traditional Rueben sandwich that was served with a generous amount of very good quality corned beef. It was as good as any I've ever had - and I've eaten a lot of Ruebens over the years.

Stopped in here for a quick bite before our 7:00 show at Sunset Playhouse. Our waitress was fun, friendly and helpful. The cod fish fry, Irish Reuben witn sweet potato fries and Shepherd's Pie were all very good, although personally I would ask them to hold the cheese topping on the Shepherd's Pie next time.

Yelp
Returned to ODs for the first time in a long time, and it was a blast, per usual. They're the go-to spot for Memorial Day in Elm Grove! We posted up there to watch the parade go by. They were having their annual outdoor party with tables filling the parking lot, live music under a big outdoor tent, beer stands, and good vibes. We ordered a few burgers which came out quick - shockingly given how busy it was. They hit the spot. Oh and they had a BYO-bloody mary bar which we indulged in. Love their bloodies! I think the best part about this pub is that it gives such a communal feel. Everyone knows each other and the owners are super sweet. Definitely a small-town spot I would recommend.

Yelp
We went here for a Friday night to end February. It had a great amount of larger tables for 7. The waitress was nice. We got no appetizers but the corned beef rolls looked & sounded great. We all 7 got a Friday Fish Fry. Perch was mine & my fiancé's selection. I loved it because it came out in small pieces. I'd say between the Cod, Perch, Walleye, or Gluegill I'd say 1) Perch 2) Walleye 3) Cod 4) Bluegill but honestly couldn't go wrong with either. I rarely get a take home box but it was enough that I added my remaining 3 pieces into my fiancé's box. I love the baskets the fish & chips are served in. Very quaint to Irish/England Pubs. The marble rye was thick & large portions. Honestly, for $17 you get a great deal worth of food considering inflation. The waitress was even kind enough to bring an extra basket of fries when she realized they gave one of the guests Sweet Potato instead of Regular fries. Honestly, we ended up putting the extra fries into the 3 carry out boxes. The servings are great sizes!! There was also live music on a Friday night.

Yelp
Love food And I love working at this restaurant and great surveying staff and great bartenders

Yelp
We had an excellent fish fry but our server, Lindsey, really pushed the whole experience over the top. Thanks, Lindsey!

Yelp
My sister raves about their bloody Mary's. They have live music and a great Rueben from what I hear. The last time I was there was a very busy Thursday night so the food took a little while to arrive. Lots of regulars. Good tots. It's a nice and homey Irish pub with decent food and entertainment!

Katie F.

Yelp
We love ODs and go almost every friday. Obsessed with the buffalo chicken wrap, the rings, and the reuben. Brendan and Jamie are so amazing and great bartenders. Always a fun casual environment.

Yelp
OD's is the best restaurant in Milwaukee. The ownership loves to take care of people and be an integral part of the community. We love OD's!!

Yelp
I walked away from here pleased with their food but very disappointed in the service. I'd been here before for private events and the appetizers served were all well done. This time I was here for dinner before a show. My main issues were with the back of the house. We ordered a bottle of wine before our friends came. The waitress brought it out and as she was pouring the first glass (without allowing the usual sample taste) I told her to stop as the glass was covered in stains/grime/spots. She looked at the glass and said "Those are just water spots from washing". I told her that may be true but I wanted a clean glass. She obliged and said we would be comped for the wine she had to dump out. (indeed, we got $2 off the wine bill, woohoo.) I ordered a burger with additions of bleu cheese and bacon. It was very good but had no bacon. By the time she came back I was half done with the burger, accepting that it tasted good and I wasn't going to wait for bacon. I pointed out to her that there was no bacon and she took the $.75 off the tab. She checked her computerized order and she had requested bacon. This was evidently enough to get a head guy to come over and ask how everything was. Now 90% done with my burger, he also offered to get me bacon. I told him about the wine glass and he said some machine had broken the night before and they hadn't fixed it yet. So they knew they had a problem and their solution was to send out waterspotted wine glasses? My solution would have been to make sure they rinsed and dried the glasses a different way so that they were presentable! Overall, food was good, young waitress was doing her best, but was set up by the back staff and owner to provide a poor experience. In my humble opinion, the owner has some problems with his business.

Yelp
O'Donoghue, Irish pub has great atmosphere. We did a celebration of life for my mother-in-law in their banquet room. They made this a true celebration and was very easy to work with. They have a small bar in the banquet room and Amanda did a great job behind the bar for us. Food was great. We would recommend this for all our friends and family as a good place to have a party. Thank you, Jamie! Tell your staff they did amazing job thank you.

Sylvia L.

Yelp
This place is horrible. The waitress was quite hostile and rude, and the food was atrocious. Almost all of us ordered a fish fry and all the fish was hard, dry, and tasteless (especially the perch which was rock solid). They brought us soup as well, which was cold. We asked the waitress about the food and she got very defensive and was not helpful and caring when we didn't like our food. The bartender was great, she came over and helped with our issues and apologized, because by then our waitress was completely ignoring us. Would not recommend this place to anyone if you're looking for food, but the bar ambience looked fun.

Yelp
About as true of an Irish Pub you can get, with cozy decor, friendly faces, and fine pints of Guinness. If there's something that makes it stand out from other Irish pubs I've been to (quite the list) is that O'Donoghue's has food that is not just "bar good" but actually good. We hosted a party in the back room after my son's baptism and couldn't have asked for a better spread nor could we received better treatment from Jamie the owner as we planned or service from the bartender and staff as we enjoyed. Enjoy a cold pint on the patio while it's warm outside or get cozy inside when it's cold, either way you can't lose!

Yelp
Food tastes like butt. Service slow as dry slide. Place is freezing. Ugly name anyway.

Yelp
Ordered a tenderloin steak sandwich well done. It was charred. They asked if I wanted something else. Why not just get it done correctly so you don't have to apologize and expect me to wait longer for food. My friend is done eating and now you're going to bring me mine to eat. Not good. I go out to have a good time .....not to be disappointed and hungry.

Yelp
Had a very great burger. Zero complaints. Service is fast and very polite. The food is great here. If you haven't stopped here before you need to put it on your list.

Yelp
I really want to like this place!! But, our last two visits have made us feel very unwelcome. Most recently, our waitress had an attitude from the moment she came to our table. Her hostility made it very difficult to enjoy dinner. Not sure if you just have to be a local to have friendly service.

Yelp
It was a hot Sunday and I wanted to relax in a pub somewhere for a couple cold beers and just chill before chores. This has been a long book mark and I have driven past it countless times so today I purposely stopped by to check them out, two Irish pubs in 2 days is a fluke but I did it. The place is nice with an outdoor patio, indoor bar and dining room. The kitchen is small with three pieces of equipment that has a broaster, char grill and a deep fryer. The bar tender was super friendly and she handled the surprise me with a beer thing that I do better than most bar staff because they think it's a trick, they don't understand that I will get a beer that I might never order and open me to new beers so they can't fail and she was a trapper compared to most. I did have a couple beers that I have never had before and honestly I liked her choice better than mine because it was refreshing on a hot day. I was not hungry at the time but I did look at the menu for future reference and knowing that they have a char grill will get me back for a burger. The crowd had regulars, new person like me, family's, couples have drinks and food around lunch time. Overall it's a nice friendly neighborhood place to stop at and the food must be ok because most people ordered food.

Yelp
Fabulous fast service! The avocado wrap with buffalo sauce is perfection! I highly recommend the Irish chips!! Their live music adds on to this fun place! I have zero complaints!!

Yelp
I got delivery from here and was really impressed! The burger was great! The beef sandwich very impressive! The prices awesome! I liked the reuben appetizers too. The next time I am in the area I will have to stop by too! I know they are open most days of the week. Definitely give this place a try for eat in or delivery!!

Yelp
Went O'Donoghues after a Brewers game! Prompt service and a very friendly, hometown vibe. The Jamie sauce... a hidden gem... a must order for any table. Caution: the Jamie sauce is a little spicy, but pairs well with french fries & chicken tenders! The Ruben roll ups were delicious! Drinks were also very good! There is both indoor and outdoor seating, which accommodates for any size group! Will definitely be going back!

Yelp
Visited here three times during a short stay in the area. Loved the authentic vibe. (Yes, I've been to Ireland, so I can say that!) Great selection of beers (Guinness on tap!) and the food is really good too. The bartenders are fantastic and fun to talk to. Even my friend from the UK was impressed! Can't wait to come back.

Yelp
During this crazy COVID time, I have tried to order food-to-go at least once a week. This last week I tried O'donoghue's. This place has been in business as long as I can remember, and it's a place I've wanted to try for some time. What we ordered was a fish fry, wings, fried pickles and their homemade chips. I'll start with the wings. The wings were breaded, which is not my favorite because that makes them have a gummy texture. My bad I should have asked when I ordered. I got them with Jamie's sauce which was described as sweet and spicy. For my taste is it was more spicy than sweet, a slight balance issue, but if you like spicy you'd like the sauce. The pickles were over breaded and the spear fell out as I ate them - bringing them home they lost their crisp. Maybe better eaten in...? The chips were good - a few soggy chips at the bottom but over all a win. The dip wasn't much to write home about - french onion would have been delicious. I didn't personally try the fish fry but I asked the person who ordered it and she said it wasn't that great, wouldn't go out of her way to order it again, it was nothing special. So all in all, it was just ok for the take out food. Now, here's the extra tidbit I think is important for the times we are in. As for coronavirus accommodations, there were none. I wore a mask because I work in healthcare and don't want to spread it given my possible exposure, but not one other individual in the joint had one on - not one server, bartender or patron. The bar was packed shoulder to shoulder and people were crowding in. The bartender did use hand sanitizer before handling my food and since it was on the bar I used it as well. Honestly that's probably something that should have been happening even before coronavirus hit our shores (just basic food handling procedures). There is a small area of outdoor seating, but it didn't look like many would fit - it too was crowded. For that reason alone, I won't be back to this establishment until health standards in and out of the restaurant world are better. I don't include this information to be judge-mental, however, those who have concerns in today's climate may need to know this before going in.

Yelp
Safe. Great atmosphere and live music. Yummy and consistent food. Very friendly staff.

Yelp
Decided to grab lunch with the parents and grandmother in Elm Grove today. We made the excellent decision to visit O'donoghue's. Mom and I decided on a burger while dad and grams tried the chicken Caesar wrap. The burgers were absolutely delicious. They are seasoned perfectly and have a great taste. My TER tots topped things off perfectly. Grandma could only eat half of her wrap, so I enjoyed that for dinner! I've got to say that was really tasty too! The waitress was absolutely awesome as well. She's a bit of a local celebrity too...

Yelp
This place is a local favorite. You will make friends with the locals and the workers here. The staff is so friendly and the owner is always there to say hello. I wish we would go more but best for my waist line we don't! The food is good! Not typical bar food, it is better than that. On Fridays I always get the "shrimp fry" its my favorite around, comes with a basket of fried shrimp and French fries with coleslaw and rye bread. My husband always tries something new, chicken tenders, burger, Ruben sandwich, all decent. Another one of my favorites there are the mozzarella sticks! The drinks are good but pricey, I love their old fashions and White Russians (blind Russians are also great). It's a fun spot and in the summer they have a great outdoor patio! Check out this local favorite!

Yelp
A friendly little pub with some off street parking. A little beat up like most pubs but clean. Food was good except for the fries. I think the oil in their frier was past due for a change. Not so good. Still worth another visit.

Yelp
A great local place, friendly staff, above average bar food (soups are scratch made and "Jaime's wings" are great). Always something going on, great back room for private party or watching a game.

Yelp
I'm so glad our favorite pub is still doing so well! The food is great! Reasonably priced and the atmosphere is amazing! You should take the time and go out of your way if necessary to go here! The Jamie's wings and the regular wings are the best I have had. The fries are best anywhere! Can't wait till all this mask garbage is over...and we can see the smiling faces on Brenden and Ed again!! The dining area is spotless and people are spaced out. Can't wait to use outside seating again too! Lisa -Wauwatosa

Yelp
Greatest spot to eat, drink and hang. Staff and ownership are always customer-first. Love this place!

William B.

Yelp
Out-of-this-world bar food - App favorites include Jaime Wings (best in Milwaukee), Irish chips, and artichoke dip. Entrée favorites always deliver deliciousness - amazing Reuben with lean corned beef, excellently seasoned cheeseburger with all the fixings (options for sweet potato fries). Wrap and salad options are always stellar. Terrific tap lines - Irish staples of Guinness, Harp Lager, Smithwick's. Coldest Miller Lite tap lines I have experienced to date, awesome local craft beer and rotating seasonals. Warm atmosphere - cozy environment with booths and high top tables to hunker down in the winter. Patio area during the warmer months is great to soak up the Wisconsin sunshine. Really cool photos - truly a warm Irish pub feel. Amazing staff - Polite, responsive, and friendly staff. Always responsive, even when busy. O'Donoghue's consistently delivers the finest Irish Pub experience in the Milwaukee area. A best-in-class experience delivered by wonderful people.

Yelp
What an experience. After bowling league a couple friends of mine wanted to go out and we were referred here to try a new place. Upon walking in the bar seemed to be buzzing and lots of positive energy in the building. After finding a table towards the back it was a pleasant surprise to see they had a band playing! I ordered a black & tan as they have both Guinness and Harp on tap. As far as food goes I did not look this place up before hand and I was torn between the Rueben Rolls and the Dublin Doubler sandwich. I ended up going with the sandwich and it was absolutely delicious. The raw red onions were incredibly fresh as they had that crisp and bite when it comes to taste. The sandwich was accompanied by crinkle cut fries, coleslaw, and a pickle. My other friends ordered a chicken sandwich, fish fry, and signature burger. Everyone at the table was beyond satisfied with our food. Being in customer service it was nice to see the owner come check on us and ask how our party was doing. To me, that is value added and will be a big reason on me returning. Couldn't ask for a better first impression, highly recommended!

Yelp
By far my favorite restaurant in Brookfield/Elm Grove. Great drinks, apps, entrees. Jaime and his staff always take such good care of guests and I always leave satisfied. Burgers, fish fry, wings, Reuben, you really can't go wrong. Always fun!!

Yelp
Another stop on our party bus tour! Nice people, decent prices and good drinks. We were essentially in and out, but had a blast!

Rick Z.

Yelp
I have been going here for years and now get there carry outs. Great bar food, fish fry, burgers, Jamie's wings, Rubens and more. supper friendly staff, servers and bartenders. Comfortable neighborhood spot local family owned and staffed. Take out growlers too.

Grace T.

Yelp
Awful. Came on Sunday at 3:00pm. Waited 30 minutes to get a beer. Waiter said oh, what did you order again. No apology. Got food after 40 minutes. Average at best. Got the bill... surcharge for using a credit card. While waiting drunk guy from bar talking on speaker next to our table on his phone and waitress comes out of kitchen saying she's "so high". I'm with two kids. Just awful.

Charles F.

Yelp
I ordered two Friday fish fry for takeout. The staff was friendly and helpful but the food was terrible. I got the cod and the fish was tasteless. The fries were so cooked that the inside was hollow. It felt like eating Frito Lays! I've been there in the past and it was a good place. I will not come again.

Yelp
A pretty decent irish pub next to the railroad tracks. This bar has a classic Loki and has a nice stage and spacious interior setting fearing the service and food was excellent with the kitchen right at the bar we can watch the cook cook. There was nothing to complain about this bar and it seemed to have an older laid back crowd and no riff raff to be seen.
google avatar

Jeff R.

Yelp
Five stars for pub food. Band also setting up to play. Burgers are really good. Great drinks. Ranking is based on pub food. Coleslaw, fries, all really good based on pilling by the four at our table.

Yelp
O'donoghue's (or OD's for short) has long been a highlight destination in Elm Grove for both locals and visitors alike. Can't go wrong with an O'donoghue's burger or the Jamie's wings! It gets busy on the weekends so don't be surprised if it's pretty hoping early in the night. Absolutely a great place to take the kids or have a nice night out of the house.
google avatar

Yelp
The food here is absolutely amazing. I'm always excited about their ruben rolls, Jamie Wings and traditional and Irish ruben. The atmosphere is awesome here and they have great service. Definitely a must stop place! Jamie will take good care of you.

Yelp
Had the Rueben and fiancé had the double dubliner! Mmmmmm both delish. And service was quick and friendly!! We will definitely be back. Would like to try the stew and I forgot to order Rueben rolls. Corned beef was moist and had a good flavor. We will definitely be back ! I haven't been here for several years, but glad I gave it another shot

Yelp
We love it here. Great little neighborhood bar. Great drinks and appetizers. We have never had a bad experience at O'donoghues. A little gem .

Yelp
We went there with friends for drinks and dinner. Bartender was great, food was good and we had an amazing time with our waitress. I think her name was Maggie?? She made our night, she was so much fun and really made us feel soooo welcome. It was a great night with friends and we will be back!!!!

Eddie R.

Yelp
Ordered burgers and shepherds pie. Burgers and fries were decent but topping orders were all wrong. Shepherds pie was mostly just salty. Service was very slow. We had to ask a server to take our order and we were there for an hour and a half before the food came out.

Joe M.

Yelp
This place could be so much better. The food is just okay. Bar food mostly which is fine. The service is atrocious! There's a complete lack of true service and no sense of anyone helping the other or any sense of urgency. Come on bartender, get your butt out from behind the bar and run some food.

Yelp
We had a great evening at O'Donoghue's Pub! The food was delicious and the live music added to the festive atmosphere!

Yelp
This is one restaurant that even during COVID-19 has maintained a positive environment and stays open to serve food past 8:00 or 9:00 p.m.! Most importantly, the food is delicious, the wait staff is friendly and helpful and the beverages are cold! We had been out running errands and just needed to get out of the house and catch a bite to eat. We walked into Champps at 9:03 and were politely informed by other customers leaving that the "last call for food" had been announced and that the grill closed at 9:00. Without hesitation, we thought, "OD's it is!" When we entered, the first thing I noticed was that all the staff were were wearing masks. Tables were spaced apart. We were greeted with hellos and felt instantly welcomed. The service and attention was top notch. Delicious food. My favorite is the Chicken Avocado Wrap. Beware - it's addictive! My son and husband's fav are the Jamie Wings - kickin' it up! Great neighborhood feel and all are welcome. Stop in and say hello to Jamie and Brendon!

Yelp
Rude waitstaff, specifically the bartender. Not sure what her problem was, but if you're going to be mean to people, perhaps you shouldn't work in a hospitality driven field.

Yelp
Great place. Family atmosphere. Great live music. Friendly staff. Love coming here at the end of a hard work week to relax and enjoy some great Guinness, appetizers and sometimes an awesome Fish Fry. :)
