My daughter has participated Odyssey Clay Works camps and classes, and she loves every minute. The staff create a supportive, inspiring environment for kids, and she always comes home excited to show off her projects. I also take a beginner’s group class (Shayna is wonderful) and even though it’s outside my comfort zone, the studio feels so welcoming and the staff are always helpful. It’s been such a joy to play with clay and leave my worries at the door. It’s a wonderful community space for both adults and children, and I highly recommend Odyssey to anyone looking to explore clay in a welcoming, creative atmosphere.

Outstanding experience. I booked a 2 hour private lesson with my partner and we were able to produce 7 finished pieces between the two of us! Our instructor, Madison, was great at explaining and demonstrating techniques, and was with us the whole time for when we needed assistance. The space was beautiful with good natural lighting, and we were able to choose out of 4 glaze colors for each of our pieces. Madison will trim the pieces and glaze them, and they will be ready for pick up in around 2 weeks! Would absolutely come back.

Really awesome place! I love the creative range of ceramic artists they have on display in their gallery - seems like there's something for everyone's taste when looking for gifts. I've heard nothing but good things regarding their class offerings as well. Definitely worth checking out if you find yourself in Asheville!

My husband and I participated in the couples Valentines Day pottery class and had a blast! It was our first experience throwing pottery. The instructors were friendly, helpful, and fun. They served delicious snacks. The pottery displayed for sale is so creative and beautiful. The whole experience was wonderful. Go check it out!

Just took a private lesson with Kelsey and she was a fantastic and uplifting teacher. She really knows how to demonstrate and guide a student to be able to make a centered pot in no time.

Google
Fun gallery to visit & purchase gifts. However, be aware of their ALL SALES FINAL policy. This includes exchanges. I had purchased a $75 coffee mug (gift) and decided I would like to have a similar matching one. I was told I could not make the exchange even when I would be spending more. All pieces were from the same artist as well. Only 30 minutes elapsed. Cashier told me to "just buy the extra $75 one." Seriously:/

Just finished a really wonderful class at Odyssey... so wonderful that I've registered for the same class next session. The classes are a very reasonable price considering how much they offer with open studio hours and all of the tools they have available for students to use. AC Bell was also a wonderful teacher to throw with.

Google
This is a great place to take classes or just explore and find great ceramic art. I always make it my first stop when going to Asheville's River Arts District

Yelp
Oddest Clay Works hosted a community event where everyone got to make a tile that will become part of a larger art installation. It was beautifully organized and such a joy to be surrounded by neighbors, all creating something together. I'm genuinely excited to see our tile incorporated into the final piece. It means so much to have businesses like this that foster creativity and connection--helping to make our community better and more vibrant for everyone. Being in the space was inspiring and see us going back in the future when our baby is bigger to do so more creative projects. So much art to see and all made right here.

Yelp
Such a wonderful studio! I booked a private lesson for 5 here yesterday with Dylan Muller who is a very talented artist in residence. He was a great teacher and made the day so much fun! Book it, ask for Dylan and enjoy :)

Yelp
This is an incredible experience a true odyssey! A real working full-scale ceramic studio with lots of artisans. If you're looking for a one of a kind piece or a full blown custom table setting or anything in between this is the place to go. Genuine and kind people interested in you and meeting your needs. You can find multiple artists working and displaying their wares here, and if you're interested in actually taking classes or doing ceramics work yourself, full instructions and space rental is available. And great coffee is just next door!

Yelp
No customer service skills at all. Unresponsive to both email and voicemail - never answers phone. When call is finally returned after multiple messages, person (Halima??) was disengaged as if they don't need any new business ( must be nice in this current fiscal climate, but hey..) She was unable to answer a simple question and the vibe was rude. We decided to take our business elsewhere.

Yelp
What a unique experience. This is an open, working studio. You can enroll in 6-8 week classes and then have open studio time as long as classes aren't going on. Student and instructor work is on display and for sale. We were only in town for a few days or else we'd do a class. The lady working was so helpful in answering all of our questions and she went out of her way to write up some of her favorite hikes for us. Thank you so much for an unexpectedly great experience!

Yelp
Great place to see a wide range of pottery and ceramic art! Classes look like lots of fun. Very friendly staff and community is very happy to talk about the pottery and show how it is made. Definitely worth stopping in if you are visiting the river arts district!

Yelp
Compliant! I came to Asheville last weekend with the intention to drop some serious cash on local art but when I shopped your gallery the sales person was to busy on her phone to help me. You have some serious issues and you lost 5K in sales!

Yelp
Wonderful place, wonderful community. I've been lucky enough to be a part of this community for over a year now. Working with clay is very calming. It helps me stay serene. And being surrounded by such inspiring teachers who are incredibly excited to share their expertise creates a very warm learning environment. There's a lot of talent and heart here. Come share in the love of clay and community.

Yelp
A beautiful Jonas adorns my 24 ft entry in our home! The expression " the hair on the back of my neck" stands up from the moment we saw this magnificent piece of art!

Yelp
Favorite gallery in town. The people here are amazing. Gabe and Ananda have are some of the nicest most kind people. They've really helped shape the culture and vibe of the studio. The pottery is wonderful. I've found a few pieces here that I love and cherish. Prices have been reasonable. One day I will replace all of our dinnerware with handmade pottery. This is the first place I will go to make that happen. The classes look really fun. Going to take some private lessons when I have the time. :-)

Yelp
The best place in Asheville to learn about ceramics and buy beautiful art! You can take a one hour private lesson, a weekend long workshop, or a 6-8 week long class! Great community to be a part of. These clay folks are fantastic and will help you realize your creative vision! The stunning gallery features exceptional work from 25+ artists from Asheville and the surrounding area. They also have outreach programs for veterans and recovery groups and AND a scholarship fund so no one is turned away due to cost of a course. Whether you take a class or purchase artwork, Odyssey ClayWorks is a great place to show your support for the arts and build a sense of place.

Yelp
My all time favorite place to learn and create! The staff is knowledgeable and helpful, the students are kind and eager to learn, and the teachers are all wonderful.

Yelp
I have taken several classes here and I have never felt so included and involved my first day anywhere!!!! The staff is just the most incredible knowledgeable group of ceramics people I've ever seen. Learning new things is hard but the environment here is so loving and supportive. The open studio hours and staff make the classes worth every penny I will be with this wonderful group for as long as possible and my heart will always be with them

Yelp
One of the many excellent arts centers in Asheville and a very pleasant gallery with helpful staff; it appears this place also offers lessons in pottery at various times and per my friend the prices are far less than the average while the teachers are just as good.

Yelp
Great place for pottery lessons of all skill levels: wheel-throwing, handbuilding, and sculpting. Very knowlegable teachers who work with you individually to improve your skills.
