We had a pleasant stay. The room and bathroom were clean, though a bit dated. The bed was comfortable and provided a good night’s sleep. The breakfast was definitely a highlight: very good and varied. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, making the stay even more enjoyable. Overall, a nice experience, with special praise for the service and breakfast!

What a wonderful stay we had at Hotel Oepkes! It’s a nice time of the year to go to the island of Terschelling. It’s windy, rainy and a little cold, perfect for some walks in the dunes and on the beaches and ride a bike around the island. Rijk and his family and staff made us feel very welcome at their historic hotel in West Terschelling. With 20 to 25 rooms it’s a relatively small hotel, but the service and accommodations are excellent and very personable. Rijk, the owner and manager, told us many stories about the history of Hotel Oepkes. Comfortable rooms, nice cosy beds, everything meets and exceeds the standards of this 3-star hotel. To get into the ‘island-mood’, upon arrival we were treated to a local drink, delicious! In the morning a big breakfast buffet was greeting us. Coffee, toast, croissants, rolls, eggs, bacon, yoghurt, fresh juices and fruits, sweet rolls and also ontbijtkoek. Throughout the island dogs are very welcome and this hotel is no exception. Our young labrador Kobus loved the hotel, and our room and was immediately comfortable, see picture. Dear Google, are we allowed to provide 6 stars? ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The hotel is clean, the staff is friendly, and the rooms are nice. Breakfast is served, it has a bar, but no restaurant. Terschelling has no luxury hotels in the city, but this hotel is well-located for both the ferry and city center activities. The city is interesting and historic, and the countryside is delightful. The island is small and can be traversed by bicycle, by hiking, or by hiring a taxi. Most roads and trails are fairly flat, and there are difficult trails. The village is missing the mark by not having guided island tours. We hired a taxi and told the driver to show us the island and provide commentary. He did quite well but was clearly not accustomed to doing so.

We stayed for two nights, which is probably enough for Terschelling unless you have a specific interest in nature or water sports. The hotel is really well located as it's a few steps from the main street and less than five minutes from the ferry port, so everything is within easy reach. The hotel has a nice, quiet terrace and local beers behind the bar so this is a lovely place to spend time, and the complimentary welcome drink is a nice bonus. The staff were all super helpful and delivered service with a smile. The rooms are relatively small, but we didn't visit Terschelling to sit in our hotel room.

Just a 2 minute walk from the ferry is this lovely hotel. Right from checking in you feel welcome. The rooms are nicely decorated. The bed is great and the quilt super comfy.|We will definitely come back!

We stayed here for a weekend, it's a nice hotel, we had a clean room with a double bed (room # 7). In de centre of West Terschelling and yet not in the main street, so very nice not too noisy. Breakfast was good. Friendly staff. Not even 5 minutes from the ferry. I Would say very worth to book, Price/quality is in place. Oh...and never the less :) free wifi and it was fast!

Really nice location in the middle of the lovely town of West Terschelling. The room was quite small and smartly decorated, all the staff were really friendly and helpful, and the breakast was okey dokey. There's usually a computer terminal hidden away somewhere where you can access the internet for free if you ask them where it is.||Because the hotel is about 3 minutes walk from the ferry terminal, there's no need to take your car to the island. Its much cheaper to leave it in the long term ferry carpark in Harlingen. There's a place right near the hotel to rent bikes. The island has lots of good cyclepaths. Be careful on a windy day... the wind normally comes from the west. We cycled eastwards right to the other end of the island thinking it was really easy and then realised its much more strenuous cycling back against the wind. Admittedly this was the first time I'd ridden a bike since I was about 12 years old.||The beach cafe in West Terschelling was a good place to eat and watch the sunset, and there's a nice restaurant in the town with witches and spooky stuff all over the outside. Can't remember the name of it, but the food was great! One warning... there's a 1950's American Diner called the Heartbreak Hotel on the other side of the island which had the slowest service I've ever experienced!|

Very warm welcome, comfortable room and an excellent breakfast. All that just a 5 minute walk from the ferry and just off the main street with nice restaurants, shops and bars. A perfect base for exploring West Terschelling.
