Truly a 100/10 restaurant! The vegan breakfasts are amazing — every item I’ve tried, I’ve LOVED (as have my friends that I’ve brought with me on different weekend brunch dates). During my most recent visit, I got the breakfast burrito to go, and it is unbelievably flavorful, and the portion size is extremely generous. The staff is also the kindest around! Integrity and Maxwell made me feel so welcome with their generosity and warm energy! Integrity even made me an iced coffee on the house since it was end of shift for them, and the restaurant was closing down before thanksgiving holiday 🥰 Anytime I’m on Alberta, I’m stopping at OTG!

I ordered hot chocolate with oat milk and vegan whip. The hot chocolate was really good. My friends ordered Nashville Hot with salad and Full Mess. Unfortunately we were so busy talking that I missed taking pictures of our food. The Full Mess was a hit with one friend. My other friend said the Nashville Hot sandwich was okay. Customer service was excellent!

GREAT food and excellent service! It was a difficult decision for what to order… as the variety on by the menu was to blame (EVERYTHING sounded good.) We narrowed our choices down to the hash and chicken with waffles… both were delicious!

So good! I am not vegan my sister is. I am very picky about vegan food. I got the brisket sandwich and my sister got the Mac with meatloaf. The sandwich was delicious the fries were seasoned and perfect! Staff were great with refills!

Absolutely phenomenal breakfast. Cute space with wonderful lighting and some of the absolute friendliest service I’ve received. I am not vegan but I am gluten free and this place was paradise. Got the special pumpkin waffle and was over the moon. We will be coming back!

Yelp
Off the Griddle popped up on our search for vegan brunch and was recommended to us by a friend that lives in Portland. We liked it so much the first time that we came back a second time! We were promptly greeted and seated, our servers were friendly and attentive, and the space was comfortable and cozy. One thing we did note both visits was there were a lot of little flies that we had to swat away from our meal. Not a fan of that, but hopefully they can take care of that by the time we make it back to Portland. ;) Their menu is extensive, offering many gluten free options. They also offer eggs if you prefer that over tofu. We only got to try their breakfast items, but I'd love to come back for lunch! First visit: Breakfast burito: 10/10. From flavor of the herb tofu to the portion (perfect to share between the two of us), everything about this burrito was perfect and all we could have wanted. Basic B waffle: 7/10. I can appreciate that the waffles are all GF. The blue cornmeal made as a good base, but I felt a little underwhelmed, but can't quite put a finger on what could have made it better. Second visit: Biscuits & gravy: 8/10. with GF bisuit and tofu scramble. A winning combo! The biscuit was on the dryer side, but the gravy did its job. The scramble tasted a little off, so a bit bummed about the inconsistency. Blue plate: 9/10. The non GF biscuit was much better. My wife ate this one and she was very happy with her meal. All in all, super happy with our meals here. Would 1000% recommend and plan to return again!

Yelp
I have a vegan friend that I enjoy going out to lunch with. She lives in N. Portland and wanted to go somewhere close that she hadn't been to before. Off The Griddle fit the bill! I had been to their other location quite some time ago. I hadn't been to the one on Alberta. I was worried about parking, but found a spot nearby. We were greeted warmly upon entering. Everything on the menu looked delicious! I settled for the Meatloaf Benedict without the biscuit. My friend ordered the Goddess Bowl. I loved the Meatloaf Benedict, it's what I consider comfort food! I had a taste of my friend's Goddess Bowl and it was good too! I would love to return again soon!

Yelp
*Non-vegan review* I wasn't really planning on trying this place as it's a brunch place which is already my least favorite "cuisine" and am not vegan but kind of got dragged here but was pleasantly surprised w/ the experience. They've got a lot of vegan versions of classic brunch fare mostly using tempeh, jackfruit & seitan for meat subs & also tofu scrambles but u can request real eggs instead. Not sure what they use for the fake sausage patties but am curious. By server suggestion I opted for Brunchwrap Supreme (Crunchwrap) instead of the Nashville Hot "Chik'n" as he said they used jackfruit which didn't sound like a good texture to me. The "chorizo" was pretty good tho. And I like their fries too, thin like McDonald's (which is a high compliment). We also tried the Feast Waffle which was a blue cornmeal waffle stuffed with/ hashbrowns & topped with/ tofu scramble & gravy. Very hearty & filling. Pretty good vegan food & they also have some interesting coffee cocktails.

Yelp
My visiting parents (omnivores) & I (vegan) decided to try the new Alberta location of Off The Griddle today & were treated to flavorful, well-portioned food given the prices with a variety of homemade sauces. I thoroughly enjoyed the Blue Plate. The biscuit & gravy was very tasty without being overly salty or heavy. The tofu scramble component was one of my favorite tofu scrambles I've had from a restaurant. My father enjoyed his vegan Reuben & side salad with homemade ranch dressing. My mother enjoyed her BLT as well, particularly noting the flavor of the tempeh & the homemade "honey" mustard as her favorite components. I'm very happy to have an all-vegetarian, mostly vegan (dairy cheese & eggs are the only non-vegan items) breakfast/brunch/lunch option a quick bus trip away as finding places with multiple vegan options for breakfast/brunch specifically is a little harder to find in Portland than our extensive lunch/dinner options. I look forward to more visits &/or deliveries via DoorDash from Off The Griddle!

Yelp
We stopped in here when we were visiting Portland and I am so happy we did! We split a Brisket Hash, which was absolutely mouth watering! The way the jackfruit is cooked and flavored was my favorite, but the diced potatoes and tofu scramble really made this dish explode with flavor. The food was great, but the people working were just as wonderful. They gave us a lot of options of things to explore and were so kind. When I go back to Portland, I'm definitely coming here again!

Yelp
A friend and I had lunch at Off the Griddle yesterday, Sunday. I know the place tends to be busy on the weekend and the acoustics could be better but that's beside my point. The food is really good but when the service is bad, all the good points take a back seat. We sat down at the far end and waited and waited and finally the bartender came over and took our order. The food was good and after the conversations took a lull and our plates were empty, we wanted to get to Vancouver for the symphony. We finally felt the need to get up and pay at the front counter where the waiter had been standing, not looking to see if customers needed help. We paid, my friend left no tip and I thought about it but I did leave one as I live in the neighborhood. I'm not sure I'll go back as there are many other vegan restaurants close by and beyond.

Yelp
I was recommended this place by a local and thank goodness! It was so hard to choose what to get even after drooling over social media posts the day before. Luckily my bestie and dining companion was willing to share! We got the blueberry waffles and the biscuits n gravy with hash and tofu eggs. We enjoyed sitting outside with the nice weather. The staff were pretty great. I'd easily go here again with my family.

Yelp
We have been eating at this chain for a lot of years, back when it was A.N.D. & usually we go to the one on Foster, and now after coming to this one for the first time we will just go to the one on Foster. Service was fine, but someone in the kitchen should watch out how old or crusty the usually delicious biscuits are before serving them. And I have to wonder, DID you NUKE my food and not reheat it in a pan with some vegan butter!!!!!! We also tried the mac and cheese, hardly any sauce, then the $3 charge for a side, plus another charge for some sauce they didn't have... disappointing. over $40 for lunch is crazy, at least we have left overs to add more sauce to. I reheated everything the next day, buttering the biscuit and reheating it on the stove and it was so good. I added more vegan cheese and some nice milk to the mac and cheese and it was delicious. We are not paying for you to microwave out food!!!! reheat it in a pan. I'll only go to the Foster one from now on. which is a shame as this one is so much closer and has so many fun places to go nearby.
