Yelp
Off the Griddle popped up on our search for vegan brunch and was recommended to us by a friend that lives in Portland. We liked it so much the first time that we came back a second time! We were promptly greeted and seated, our servers were friendly and attentive, and the space was comfortable and cozy. One thing we did note both visits was there were a lot of little flies that we had to swat away from our meal. Not a fan of that, but hopefully they can take care of that by the time we make it back to Portland. ;)
Their menu is extensive, offering many gluten free options. They also offer eggs if you prefer that over tofu. We only got to try their breakfast items, but I'd love to come back for lunch!
First visit:
Breakfast burito: 10/10. From flavor of the herb tofu to the portion (perfect to share between the two of us), everything about this burrito was perfect and all we could have wanted.
Basic B waffle: 7/10. I can appreciate that the waffles are all GF. The blue cornmeal made as a good base, but I felt a little underwhelmed, but can't quite put a finger on what could have made it better.
Second visit:
Biscuits & gravy: 8/10. with GF bisuit and tofu scramble. A winning combo! The biscuit was on the dryer side, but the gravy did its job. The scramble tasted a little off, so a bit bummed about the inconsistency.
Blue plate: 9/10. The non GF biscuit was much better. My wife ate this one and she was very happy with her meal.
All in all, super happy with our meals here. Would 1000% recommend and plan to return again!
