"Popping up in Season 5 as Dustin heads to college, this Brookhaven campus adds a real collegiate backdrop to the story’s northern arc around the city." - James Medd

Between the endless begging alumnus for money, tossing an unholy amount of money into ostentatious buildings, and lowering their flag for a far right podcaster for over a joking week they’ve earned these 2 stars. Why not one? I do have some fond memories there. But for sure my degree is about as useful as a roll of quilted northern in income generation. Oh and someone tell them the last two flags on hermance are about one stiff breeze from breaking away from the pole (three have already bit it you’d think they’d be on top of that as you know that faces Peachtree but I guess marketing/admin is pretending that’s not a thing)

The show was enjoyable. The drones with their colors and patterns corresponding with the dancers and their moods told the story so passionately! It was truly felt inward! Great job! 👏🏼

Called ahead to see if I could use an ebook because I’m not a student they said yes and then I went in and they told me no. Would have be super easy I needed to read a 50 page play drove 20 miles

Forever grateful for my education here. Small classes with personalized attention, liberal arts education, focus on service, combined with access to Atlanta's large city resources all create an incredible educational experience. They are also generous with financial aid.

I went here as project grad student. It's the most amazing campus I've ever been on. The dorms are unique, the entire campus is just amazing. It's peaceful. Oglethorpe University is amazing.

I'm not even sure where to Begin. This school is all about MONEY! The financial aid adviser told me that I don't qualify for scholarships because I'm not a full time student and even if I was a full time student I would have to wait till After the Spring semester in to fill out scholarships. Hello! I'm trying to get scholarships and grants so that I can afford to be a full time student! Speaking of finances, this school is ridiculously expensive! I Might as well attend Spelman or Clark Atlanta. And don't get me on the adult program advisor. They are terrible at answering emails and/or answering their phones. You can send an email to them on Monday and they won't get back to you until The following week on Wednesday. The advisors are all for you when you enter the school, but if you try to transfer you are completely on your own. The adivisor I had wouldn't even guide me in the right direction as to transferring to another school. If anything he tried to convince me to stay more than get me ready to move on. If You live on campus, there's a lot of activities and clubs to join which is a plus. Also an upside to the school are the professors. They really do care and they're great at what they do. But overall it's not worth being here unless you consider yourself an introvert . And your parents have a lot of money.

The best school ever!!! I graduated and became a professional because of the supportive teachers in the Oglethorpe University. I did not have perfect experiences but those experiences made me who I am today.

Yelp
I went here many years back and returned recently for Alumni Weekend after 20 years out of Atlanta. I'm glad to hear that they actually have changed for the better from students, classmates who got into in leadership roles and recall those bad old days too well, staff members and so forth. I attended a number of events and was thrilled to hear the President say they weren't trying to exclude and alienate conservatives from the community + still teach critical thinking skills (one of the positive aspects of my time there). Gone are the good ol' boys and now diversity (including being a first generation student) actually seems to be considered and appreciated where that wasn't my experience. The bad old days were so bad I had nothing to do with the school for about 10 years due to the presence and protection towards a group I found loathsome (and would be completely inappropriate in our modern times just as it was 20 years ago). Since my most recent visit, I can say with pride that I went to this school and am proud of my classmates for stepping up and being change so others don't have to go through what I'm sure some of them did.

Yelp
Had me up at 7 am on Wednesday on a cold November day to sign up for classes. I am on ten standby lists. I couldn't get in to a single one. It took 15 minutes of loading to get into a standby lists. This is absurd and I'm just disappointed in the infrastructure of this historic university.

Yelp
Food is great. They're generous with free food at events. Makeup in the campus store is relatively cheap. And yes, the campus is nice. But that's all there is to be impressed by. Organization is awful. Emails from faculty and student aides are always mixed up, and student aides often don't have the same information as faculty/staff. They force students into community building exercises and events while still acting like we're in high school. There is little regard for students here for their education: they cater to party types and those here to socialize. RAs don't enforce quiet hours in dorms, so good luck getting any sleep before an exam. Traer hall's walls are paper thin. As I type this, I can hear people outside my door yelling and laughing and blaring music. There is at least an inch of space between the bottom of the door and the floor, so insects are always coming in. The dorm rooms are so humid and musty that paper curls up. As I'm typing this, people I don't know are trying to open my door. The bathroom we share with another suite has a thick milky film of something unidentifiable in the drain of the bathtub. The underside of counters looks like its been rotted and eaten by termites. Ceiling tiles are out of place and drooping. Laundry machines seldom work the way they are supposed to. 3 girls have been sexually assaulted in this residence hall. Student leaders (RAs, OGLs, SGA members) are insufferable. It feels like the only people that have their shit together here are the dining hall staff and some of the professors. But some of the professors are absolutely top notch, and so are the counselors. I look forward to seeing most of them, and they're very relaxed and actually helpful. One of them even remembered my name after the first class.

Yelp
I went to Oglethorpe for many years and I am very proud of this school for its academic superiority, and general aesthetics. Yeah, it looks like a castle, but take a stroll around the campus and you will marvel at its beauty. Oglethorpe hosts the Shakespeare and Celtic festivals here as well as many other things that go on around campus. What I loved the best was the fact that I never had more than 25 people per class- I usually had five! My French classes boiled down to three or four of us, and the teacher used to let us pick what class we wanted to have for the next semester- reading great literature, or watching Catherine Deneuve movies. Since I idolize the woman, I often voted on the latter. They also have a great English department that offered amazing specialized classes. I took so many Jane Austen classes I should be considered an expert! If you have the money and the brains to go here I would highly recommend it. I personally like the small campus feel. I hated the looks of Emory, with frat boys sprawled out in lawn chairs looking like idiots on their fraternity's front lawn. I prefer the type of school where you can learn without that sort of dorky interference!

Yelp
Went to an event at the art department. It was an opera and the setting was perfect for such an event. The parking is crowded, but OK for small events. On a busy day I can imagine parking being painful. The theater is a bit outdated and the pre-function space is limited. However for small events this is entirely OK.

Yelp
We had a well organized orientation day. Facilities were great. snacks and lunch was well planned into the schedule. The only disappointment was the dorm rooms.

Yelp
This school is absolutely GORGEOUS- I could picture this being a great venue for a lot of things (senior pics, weddings, etc) oh yea...and maybe college! ;)

Yelp
I go to Oglethorpe for my evening degree classes for my Certified Financial Planner program and i love the campus. It is neat, it is beautiful to walk around, and the peole are very nice. You can tell that this campus is old and has some history but if you plan on coming here for any reason it is just a great place to be.

Yelp
I'm NOT sure how anyone can rate this school as a FIVE star ... FIRST piece of advice ... DO YOUR HOMEWORk !! GO ON a TOUR and REMEMBER they show you the BEST of what they have to offer. Its smaller than a Community College, which for some students, this is a GREAT FIT ... However if your acedimics are strong you should look elsewhere. THe administration and staff are very unorganized and can NOT make there OWN deadlines .... of even early applications. The communication in which they state is so intimate and personable is farthest from the truth. It takes several emails and phone calls with left messages to get anyone to respond ... Remember ... A college is a business... if the staff can NOT run effeciently how can they expect for it to thrive...

Yelp
I would love to be a full time student here. The scenery alone just grabs you in. The outside looks like a castle and it is a pretty big campus, the inside is kind of musty. The must doesn't bother me though because it just means the school has been around for awhile. I like the flexibility and opportunities at this school. I am enrolled in a non-credit language course and I must say the price is very reasonable. I get to study with the professor for 8 weeks, 1and 1/2 hours every Tuesday night for only $150 plus they provided the text book. That is a lot less expensive than a private tutor. What a great opportunity!

Yelp
Very nice play venue with a beautiful outside patio. The seating is nice and the stage is easy to see from every seat.

Yelp
I've been trying to get in touch with the special events department for about a month now. One lady canceled on me and the second lady told me the first lady didn't even work in the special events department. Of course, the first lady wants to reschedule with me and I told her I was very confused since apparently she didn't work in the department anymore. Never heard back from her. Tried to talk to the second lady again 2-3 more times and never got a response back. If they can't even figure out who works in what department or respond back to an email, they don't need to be doing weddings. I've emailed so many times (even though I was annoyed with the non-responses) pretty much throwing my money at them. Ladies, if you're looking to do a wedding here, go somewhere else. I've never experienced something like this before.

Yelp
Unfortunantly I never went to this University. I had an acquaintance who did and he loved it there. I'm 62 and this college looks the same now as it did way back when I was a young man. I regret never having been a part of this fine establishment.

Yelp
Discovering Oglethorpe University has been one of the high points of my life. As a native Atlantan, I hadn't even heard of the school unitl I passed by it on MARTA one afternoon. I walked in and was impressed by the beautiful surroundings. The campus is gorgeous! The best part is that the school is small and your professors know you by name which is a huge departure from what I was used to. I am EXTREMELY pleased with the education I have received here and hope to return as a faculty member one day. I love this school!
