Oh la la! Hotel - Paris Bastille (Paris, Île-de-France) 1 Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Romance depends on a little bit of mystery, and at Oh la la! Hotel it starts when you arrive. Rather than stroll into a street-level lobby, you’ll walk through a cocktail bar on Place de la Bastille and push against a bookcase that opens a secret door. From there, it’s up a spiral staircase — there’s no elevator — to the upper levels of this one-time apartment building, now shaped into bright rooms overlooking the square. It’s practically the definition of bohemian-chic, which is just what you’d want from a budget-friendly boutique hotel in a lively section of Paris." - Tablet Hotels

The 8 Best Hotels in Paris (Updated 2025)

"I love the location—it's literally right across from the Bastille—and I think this three-star boutique is one of the best value places in the area. The sleek, modern-minimalist rooms are not super large but are very well designed and efficiently use space; they have excellent soundproofing, lots of natural light from large windows, flatscreen TVs, AC, a kettle, and free Wi‑Fi. The bathrooms are small but have great water pressure. There's a bar on the ground floor perfect for unwinding and a delicious, varied breakfast spread (fresh bread and croissants, pancakes, eggs, and cheese)." - Matthew Kepnes

I found this hotel while searching for last-minute reservations on the Michelin Guide recommendations. The accommodations were wonderful. The room was exactly as described. We had requested two twin beds, and this was accommodated without issue. The room was clean, and quite large, even for two adults. We had an interior room, no noise concerns at all. The staff went out of their way in welcoming us to the hotel. We speak minimal French and they welcomed us so kindly. They offered to carry our heavy luggages to our room and even remembered our drink order in the morning. The breakfast in the morning was excellent, complete with espressos made to order and a great selection of pastries, meats, cheeses, eggs, etc. The location was fantastic, steps away from the train, which can easily take you to the popular tourist destinations, as well as a 10-minute walk to Le Marais. As the website notes, there is no elevator, and, as depicted in the photographs of the room, the mattresses are placed on slats on the floor, which may be challenging for individuals with limited mobility. Aside from travelers with limited accessibility, I would recommend this hotel without a doubt. As a Hilton Diamond member, it takes quite a bit to pull me away from the points/perks of the Hilton chain, but anytime I come to Paris, I will choose to stay at this hotel.

We stayed at this lovely hotel whilst we were in Paris for a trade fair. The location is super great and everything was within easy reach including buses and trains. The rooms were very clean and comfortable and showers were excellent. We decided to have a coffee in the evening and the staff are super helpful and polite. The hotel has a lovely bar downstairs and there is a lovely vibe about the hotel and the surrounding areas. I would highly recommend this hotel for price cleanliness and location. An additional bonus was the chez Paul restaurant which was a five minute walk from the hotel and was one of the best meals we have had and such a reasonable price.

The hotel is not big or fancy but it has so much charm and is cozy. I had a very memorable stay at this hotel and it was exactly what I was looking for my first time in Paris. The hotel has no elevator and my room was on the top (6th floor) but I was happy with that - I think as an American especially we all should be walking and taking the stairs more. What really stood out in my stay was the hotel staff. They were all so kind, so helpful, so friendly, and even one of the staff members I will call a friend going forward since we connected so well.

Had a great stay. Location is close to the metro. Rooms were very comfortable. The staff is amazing. We arrived before check in and wanted to leave the city after checkout. In both instances they stored our luggage for us so we didn't have to worry about it. Thanks for a great stay.

This precious hotel is in a fantastic location and located just steps away from a metro stop. The staff went out of their way to leave a sweet birthday wish for my daughter whose birthday was the day of our arrival. As stated many places, there is no elevator. We stayed on the 4th floor. Normally a climb up 4 flights would be no problem, but it isnt quite as easy after walking almost 30,000 steps during the day like we did :-) We hope to return someday. In that case, we would reserve early and request a first floor room.

The hotel was just perfect for our girls trip to Paris. The hotel is spotless , attention to detail on their rooms , fresh fluffy laundered towels and crisp white bedding - room attended to daily. The staff were attentive, helpful and friendly. Genuine people who could not do enough to help you from helping with cases, directions and little extras that really made your holiday. We felt really looked after , a fantastic service. Nothing was a problem . The area is a lovely spot full of great bars and restaurants. Thank you so much and I would definitely recommend and return to.
