Oh la la! Hotel - Paris Bastille (Paris, Île-de-France) 1 Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Romance depends on a little bit of mystery, and at Oh la la! Hotel it starts when you arrive. Rather than stroll into a street-level lobby, you’ll walk through a cocktail bar on Place de la Bastille and push against a bookcase that opens a secret door. From there, it’s up a spiral staircase — there’s no elevator — to the upper levels of this one-time apartment building, now shaped into bright rooms overlooking the square. It’s practically the definition of bohemian-chic, which is just what you’d want from a budget-friendly boutique hotel in a lively section of Paris." - Tablet Hotels

Where to Stay in Paris (Updated 2025)

"I love its location right across from the Bastille; the quiet boutique hotel has a ground-floor bar that makes it easy to unwind, and the sleek, modern-minimalist rooms—while not very large—are cleverly designed so you don’t feel cramped; breakfast is tasty and varied." - Matthew Kepnes

The 8 Best Hotels in Paris (Updated 2025)

"I love the location—it's literally right across from the Bastille—and I think this three-star boutique is one of the best value places in the area. The sleek, modern-minimalist rooms are not super large but are very well designed and efficiently use space; they have excellent soundproofing, lots of natural light from large windows, flatscreen TVs, AC, a kettle, and free Wi‑Fi. The bathrooms are small but have great water pressure. There's a bar on the ground floor perfect for unwinding and a delicious, varied breakfast spread (fresh bread and croissants, pancakes, eggs, and cheese)." - Matthew Kepnes

perfect location, Outside the Metro station, busy area with plenty of shops and restaurants..The hotel is small and cute overall.. the room was enough for us by all means.. Excellent house keeping on daily basis..Breakfast was ok for the price, had a very good quality of products in general.. the Arcade game machine was my favorite!!! the reception and service staff, very very polite, helpful and willing to assist you in any problem you have..Really really great personel to have if you are the owner to work with you.Keep it this way, cause people make the difference, not the furnitures..

Very friendly and helpful staff who understand and speak excellent English. The room was very clean and quiet, even though the Place de la Bastille is right in front of the hotel. The location is very central. The breakfast is very generous by French standards. ||||On the day of departure, after check-out, you can also leave your luggage at the hotel – a big plus if your flight isn't until the afternoon.||||I hope we have the opportunity to visit the hotel again.||||The rooms and hallways are a bit narrow and cramped.

Great hotel with all that you need for a stay in Paris. Clean / modern rooms, friendly staff, convenient and flexible check-in. Excellent subway connections from Bastille stop right outside the door. We booked for a single day transit place without sleeping while waiting for our overnight flight. I wish we had stayed here the entire time. Tremendous value / quality option.

I needed a hotel close to the Opera Bastille. I had two stays there. By far, one of the more unusual hotels I have stayed in. No elevator and it's actually a bar! Bookcase opens and up the stairs your go to your room. Rooms are small but completely functional. I didnt want for anything. Staff are phenominal. Right on Place De La Bastille. Great views from rooms. |Breakfast buffet is excellent, Plethjroa of restaurants within walking distance. Metro accross the road. Opera Batille less than a minute walk. ||As long as you ok with stairs ( they help you with luggage) it's great value

We stayed at this lovely hotel whilst we were in Paris for a trade fair. The location is super great and everything was within easy reach including buses and trains. The rooms were very clean and comfortable and showers were excellent. We decided to have a coffee in the evening and the staff are super helpful and polite. The hotel has a lovely bar downstairs and there is a lovely vibe about the hotel and the surrounding areas. I would highly recommend this hotel for price cleanliness and location. An additional bonus was the chez Paul restaurant which was a five minute walk from the hotel and was one of the best meals we have had and such a reasonable price.

I found this hotel while searching for last-minute reservations on the Michelin Guide recommendations. The accommodations were wonderful. The room was exactly as described. We had requested two twin beds, and this was accommodated without issue. The room was clean, and quite large, even for two adults. We had an interior room, no noise concerns at all. The staff went out of their way in welcoming us to the hotel. We speak minimal French and they welcomed us so kindly. They offered to carry our heavy luggages to our room and even remembered our drink order in the morning. The breakfast in the morning was excellent, complete with espressos made to order and a great selection of pastries, meats, cheeses, eggs, etc. The location was fantastic, steps away from the train, which can easily take you to the popular tourist destinations, as well as a 10-minute walk to Le Marais. As the website notes, there is no elevator, and, as depicted in the photographs of the room, the mattresses are placed on slats on the floor, which may be challenging for individuals with limited mobility. Aside from travelers with limited accessibility, I would recommend this hotel without a doubt. As a Hilton Diamond member, it takes quite a bit to pull me away from the points/perks of the Hilton chain, but anytime I come to Paris, I will choose to stay at this hotel.

The hotel is not big or fancy but it has so much charm and is cozy. I had a very memorable stay at this hotel and it was exactly what I was looking for my first time in Paris. The hotel has no elevator and my room was on the top (6th floor) but I was happy with that - I think as an American especially we all should be walking and taking the stairs more. What really stood out in my stay was the hotel staff. They were all so kind, so helpful, so friendly, and even one of the staff members I will call a friend going forward since we connected so well.

Had a great stay. Location is close to the metro. Rooms were very comfortable. The staff is amazing. We arrived before check in and wanted to leave the city after checkout. In both instances they stored our luggage for us so we didn't have to worry about it. Thanks for a great stay.
