The food was pretty good but nothing really stood out. I’ve heard they are known for their Bahn Mi and I ended up ordering the ‘medium spicy panang curry’ so I may need to go back for a second visit. Just know that the ‘medium spicy’ is like a southeast Asian medium and not a downtown Salt Lake medium. It tasted fine but it was spicier than expected. The other dishes at the table were their chicken curry and five spices chicken. Again, both were good but nothing that really stood out. The food was good enough that I’ll go back and try the Bahn Mi another day.

The Pho was pretty Yummy, and the employees were nice, but the atmosphere really topped it all off! It is so cute and cozy inside! 10/10 would go again, although the parking confused me and I had to take a lap around the block

Google
Food is so flavorful and fresh. Quick service. Small dinning area with limited seating. Hole in the wall feel that could use a once over in the cleaning department. Staff if very friendly and helpful, they answer questions and even let us try the kimchi before we invested in a side of it. Very yummy food and best Pho around!

Always so great, healthy, delicious, and cozy!

Google
I can't get enough of their bahn mi! Super fresh, tasty, and quick! 2024 update: still the best! Their service is fantastic and food is amazing. Today I had their garlic ribeye bahn mi… it’s to die for.

Good ambiance, friendly staff. The place is good to go with a group. The food is good and is authentic Vietnamese. The sandwiches are really tasty. Must visit if you are local to salt lake City.

Google
Such a cute little Vietnamese spot in SLC! Super easy to order off the menu, delicious & high quality food, and a clean space! We took a larger group here and had a blast eating our pho altogether 😊

The four of us came here for super early dinner right after a long tiring day of skiing. We opted for the beef pho with meatballs. Pho was really good, the broth was lovely and the meat quality was great. Service is pretty fast and efficient. The place is cozy and kind of small filled with small and large communal tables so come with an open mind to share your table with others. Would highly recommend and would definitely come back here when I visit SLC again.

Yelp
Oh Mai Vietnamese Kitchen in Holladay is an absolute gem! Every time I visit, I'm blown away by the fresh ingredients, bold flavors, and generous portions. The pho is rich and flavorful, with a broth that tastes like it's been simmering for hours. If you're a fan of vermicelli bowls, their grilled pork bun is a must-try, packed with vibrant flavors and fresh veggies. Beyond the food, the service is always quick and friendly, making it a great spot for both a casual lunch and a satisfying dinner. Whether you're craving something warm and comforting or light and fresh, Oh Mai never disappoints. Definitely a go-to Vietnamese spot in Holladay! Highly recommend.

Yelp
Street parking only as far as I can tell but I easily found a spot. Super fast service. Cute little place. Empty at 12:30 but busier at 1:40 on Monday! I enjoyed my pho. Loved how full of noodles it was and the broth was good enough I drank most of it! My friend got the honey pork banh mi and said it was good but not good enough he'd recommend it to someone visiting from out of town. A good experienced overall.

Yelp
The broth and presentation of the chicken pho was great, but the chicken itself was really poor- tough and dry. For the price of the dish makes it a very expensive bowl of tasty water- the meat made it not a good experience

Yelp
Great Pho! Meal was fantastic. The service was also great. The rib sandwich was amazing.

Yelp
Best bahn mi I've had in the states by far. Pho is good, staff is kind. Perfect little gem in a state that lacks good food

Lily W.

Yelp
Oh my! This place has the best brisket sandwich not to mention the best pho I've ever had. Good service great food and the ambience is so nice. Thank you for being a part of the community.

Yelp
Got bahn mi to go on a weekday afternoon. Called ahead and they were ready for us to pick up when we arrived. Prices are reasonable and the sandwiches were delicious! There's even some cute seating inside if you want to dine in. Next time I plan to try the pho!

Yelp
I love Oh! Mai! I have enjoyed their Banh Mi sandwich since they were a guest restaurant at The Point at HCI years ago. I love the flavors of the honey glazed pork sandwich. I have tried the other flavors too, but that's usually my go to. I tried the rice bowl recently, but the rice masked too much of the flavors. Still good though. I love that they still have freshly made Thai Iced Tea! The staff was nice and accommodated my extras. There weren't too many people when I went so it was relatively quiet. Parking is tight in the back of the restaurant. Your best bet is to find parking on the curb. Be careful as it is right off State St.

Yelp
Garlic ribeye banh mi is delicious as well as pho. Favorite banh mi in the area. Staff is friendly and helpful. Good take out as well.

Yelp
I have purchased this salad many times. V2 curry chicken salad. It's awesome. Curry chicken atop vermicelli rice noodles with lettuce, bean sprouts, pickled vegetables, and a delicious vinaigrette. Very delicious and it always feels very clean! Chilled rice noodles with your choice of protein on a bed of fresh romaine lettuce, bean sprouts, oiled scallion. Served with cucumber and house-made pickled carrots & daikons with chili-lime fish vinaigrette

Yelp
$$$$$$ wow, two banh minh no drinks no sides, was over $30! yet another sign the apocalypse is upon us. The quintessential $5 cheap sandwich has evolved into this gourmet sandwich with gourmet pricing. Without the gourmet sandwich. Sandwich itself is ok, a couple of years ago it was better. The shortrib was heavy on the connective tissue, and light on the meat. toppings were sparse. Market needs a course correction. Too bad as a couple of years ago wasnt a bad option at $10. Even pricey it was ok to share one. Bummer

Yelp
Best Bahn Mi sandwiches in the state. My go to is the S8 garlic ribeye and it is so good. I'm not a big cold sandwich guy but these are awesome. There's a ton of vegetables on them so I tell myself I'm eating healthy, and it's got to be way better than fast food. Pro tip: there's a slice of raw jalapeño in there that can be spicy, if it is you can slide it right out and the spice is gone. I like jalapeños and don't mind a little kick but sometimes it's too much, problem solved. My wife likes the rice bowls and ordered the R3 honey glazed pork that she really enjoys.

Yelp
The food here is unmatched even when I get it delivered it's top tier. The kimchi and steak ban mi are so so good

Yelp
Food: bahn mi same hi he's were fire. We got the chicken bahn mi and it was flavorful with the baguette being crispy. We also ordered the pho which was perfect for the cold weather but the broth was not as hearty as I would have liked. The meat was also very dry. Service: friendly service! Ambiance: super cozy rustic vibes Would recommend!

Yelp
Awesome find in SLC to satisfy my Banh Mi craving!!! Food: Garlic Ribeye Banh Mi - Delicious! The bread had the perfect crunch while greeted with the softness of the inside. Daikons and Carrots weren't as pickled as I'm used to and didn't have much flavor. Ribeye had a lot of flavor. 4/5 Banh Mi price was higher than I'm used to for just a Banh Mi. Parking: Small parking lot in the back that fits roughly 4 cars. However you can find street parking as well.

Amber M.

Yelp
First time in Utah and SLC. Found this place via the Fieri recommendation, it does not disappoint! My partner and I dropped in for a quick lunch between a late night gig the night before, and a trip out to the salt flats. I had the beef short rib with kimchi banh mi, which turned out to be the best one I've ever had. The beef was tender, the kimchi flavor was perfect, the pickled daikon and carrot crisp and the bread perfectly soft but crunchy. The pork belly bao are also great! Definitely well worth it, if I'm ever here again I'll be retur ing.

Yelp
Really appreciate that they had a veggie pho. Broth was delicious and packed full of vegetables and tofu. Just please get that outside ramp into the restaurant fixed! That's an injury waiting to happen...

Yelp
We liked this place, nice and quaint, the service was great! Food was good, small parking in the back...I would come back

Yelp
I came here based on many recommendations from several people. It's primarily street parking, with the restaurant easy to miss and drive past. I got the garlic ribeye banh mi, which was really filling and tasty. I wouldn't necessarily say it's authentic, but it's a good take on a classic dish. The meat was tender and fairly portioned. The garlic was a bit much that made the bread soaked in sauce, but still edible. Next time I may ask for the sauce to be drained a little more before they put it in the bread. I'm planning on coming back and trying their pho.

Yelp
Stopped by last night to grab a couple of sandwiches and we were not disappointed! The small shop is easy to miss on State street but we were able to spot it due to the orange Oh Maí sign. The interior of the shop was clean and inviting and I was able to order as soon as I walked in. We opted for the S3: Curry Chicken and S11: The Sinner. The chicken bàhn mí sandwich was pretty spicy but super tasty and the pork belly Sinner was fresh, juicy, and delicious. I wish I hadn't eaten my sandwich in one sitting because I regret not having some to eat later. Until next time, Oh Maí!

Yelp
Bahn Mi sandwiches are one of my new favorite things. We go to Oh Mai quite frequently and love the sandwiches and service. The atmosphere is great for hopping in and grabbing a quick bite. Highly recommend.

Yelp
So good! Great service and food. I got the garlic ribeye bahn mi (S8.) fresh and lots of flavor!
google avatar

Yelp
We got the spicy beef short rib banh mi. We liked the Kim Chee and sriracha. We almost sat down at three dirty tables that had food particles on them before finding a clean table. We were surprised so many tables were dirty because it was not busy when we arrived at an off time between lunch and dinner. The person who took our order kept walking back and forth between the cash register to a table where she was sitting and talking with people so we were unsure whether she was working during her break or not working during work but either way we felt uncomfortable asking her whether the table we wanted to sit at could be cleaned. We noticed the couple who came in 5-10 minutes after we did appeared to have the same reaction to the dirty tables because they also walked around apparently determining the least dirty place to sit. When the food came out, the beef was okay. We felt it was overpriced for the quality of the ingredients. Overall the food was okay but the service was curt and we would not come back unless we got the food to go since it was not a pleasant dining experience eating there.

Yelp
What a tasty spot. Such good sandwiches ! I got the S2 which has pork and it was cooked perfectly! Very well seasoned. The only think I would do is maybe get no jalapeños next time, but that's just because I'm a baby with spice. :) I also thought the pickled veggies added nice freshness. Definitely want to go back and try a few other sandwich and definitely the vermicelli noodle salads. I'm also told the brisket sandwich was quite good!
google avatar

Frank C.

Yelp
Pho was very little for the price. The veggies that you place in the Pho were old outdated veggies. My wife ordered a chicken vermicelli bowl that tasted like pork she ended up sending back and received a veggie sandwich which was not good for a vegetarian sandwich. Never coming back. Drink's Vietnamese coffee was 3 out of 5 Thai tea was 2 out of 5

Yelp
Came here from recommendation of person who is next door to Oh Mai. Got the first item on the list: the cold cuts sub, Lots of crunchy veggies, some meat, and slightly sweet sauce, on (I think) a 9" roll. Great for a light eater not needing a mass of calories. Not crowded; only one table there at lunch time during the week.

Lee T.

Yelp
The banh mi was amazing!!!! We got the garlic beef and Korean short ribs. The sandwich was fresh and delicious!!!! The service was amazing and the restaurant has a relaxing feel as well!!! I would definitely recommend this place to friends and family!!!!!

Yelp
Delicious sandwiches. I can't eat them too often though cause they tear the roof of my mouth up.

Tran N.

Yelp
We only ordered pho. It was ok, not good but not too bad. The thing that we didn't like was they used plastic utensils and the chili sauce was not the one for pho. It was chili flakes with oil. The staff was friendly. The restaurant was a bit dark.

Yelp
I finally came to see what the hype is all about! I've been told the best banh mi and pho is right here!!!!! It's starting to get cold here so what better way to welcome the cool weather with some pho?!? I ordered the ribeye pho and the cold cuts banh mi. The ribeye pho is really good and flavorful. In comparison to the other smaller mom and pop shops, I think the portion is a little smaller and more pricey. I had maybe 3 pieces of the thin cut ribeye and a serving of noodles. The plus side is that they have the garlic chili oil which most places don't normally have! Banh mi was delicious but it's also roughly $7 a sandwich. I wanted my daikon pickled a little bit more, but the toasted bread definitely made up for it. They add plenty of pate in it and it's delicious! Parking can be a little crazy as their parking lot can fit maybe a maximum of 10 cars total. It's downtown /south salt lake area so what can you expect. Definitely coming back again for another sandwich!

Yelp
Here's a place I wish I had local to my home. You can't beat this place for their delicious Bahn mi sandwich's. I only had 1 sandwich here because I was only in town 1 day. I'd rate here weekly if I lived here. I saw some ample and hearty dishes come from the kitchen during my visit and wished I could eat like a football team. I'd go through the entire menu. This place is that good. The dining area is a bit small and there's community seating at some tables, I'm not a fan of that yet the dining area suits the theme of this restaurant. Loved it here and I'm sure you will too.

Yelp
Oh Mai yummy!!!! We were visiting Salt Lake City and wanted a quick bite to eat. We were pleasantly surprised when we heard of a good vietnamese place nearby with some great reviews. It was very hard for us to decide but I wanted something crunchy so I went with the bahn mi. The bread was fresh and crunchy and each bite had all the ingredients inside which is essential for bahn mi. The ribeye had great garlic flavor and I would eat one everyday if I could! My boyfriend got the garlic ribeye vermicelli which also tasted fantastic! I will say it was extremely hard to choose what to get when we got there. I would've ordered everything if I could eat it all! You go up, order, take a number and it gets brought to where you are siting. Everything was priced very reasonabally as well.

Yelp
Banh mi ? Banh (for) You! I'll be honest. When Oh Mai first opened and all of my non-Asian friends were raving about it, I turned my snobby nose away. The thought of paying between $5-$9 for banh mi was outrageous to me and my family because we grew up eating the cold cut banh mi from Asian markets that cost under $2 now a days, and under $1 when I was a child. Haha I have been HUMBLED and I am so excited to see the Asian food culture blowing up in Utah with so many Asian and non-Asian patrons. Oh Mai has now opened up 4 other locations and they are here to stay. Now a days, I don't mind stopping by about every other week because it is worth every penny. Oh Mai is a go to spot for me and my coworkers. To the point where we can recognize the welcoming aroma of the pho or sandwiches upon a gentle whiff whilst passing by. To the point where many of us (at least 7 of us with me included) have caved into getting a punch card. We've got a system down to call in our order as we leave our clinic and by time we get there within 10 minutes, our orders are fresh and hot! Per one of my coworker's suggestions, I have tried the Brisket Sandwhich with an egg. At first, I was skeptical because I thought it was a gimmicky (outrageous) concept of essentially having pho ingredients in banh mi. It has now become MY FAVORITE thing to get at Oh Mai. It is loaded with meat and bathed with delicious toppings and sauce. I have tried about 5 of the other sandwiches and found that some of them can be pretty saucy. Be prepared to have lots of water to help cleanse your pallet between delicious bites. The Pho Broth is rich and hearty, but too salty for my taste. The ladies over the phone and at the register have always been super friendly! I'm currently on a plane on vacation, but I'm looking forward to my next lunch break from work.

Yelp
Delicious food, fast service, clean establishment. Cheerful faces. I love eating at this place because it's just a really good time.
google avatar

Yelp
It's the $4 sandwich you know and love for $12. Pushing that aside the sandwich is delicious and this is the best we can do in Salt Lake.
google avatar

Kimber Y.

Yelp
This pho is some of the best you'll find in Salt Lake. I love the location, interior, and the food. I branched out of the pho and ordered the pork rice bowl. Personally, I wish I would have stayed with a sandwich or noodles. The pork itself was delicious, but I wasn't a fan of the accompanying pickled vegetables, so that just left me with a whole lot of pork and a whole lot of rice. This is no fault of Oh Mai itself, just a personal taste preference. Definitely check this place out! The state street location is so cute and feels like you were transported into south east Asia.

Mele H.

Yelp
If you're looking for a good sandwich or bahn mi, this is the place! The bread was perfectly toasted and the kimchi and meat inside was well seasoned. I asked for no jalapeños cause I don't like my food too spicy, it's the perfect amount of spice. They also sell shrimp chips to eat it with. The customer service isn't bad but it also isn't amazing. It's a small restaurant and they just take your order then bring it out to you.

Daniel J.

Yelp
I came to this Pho restaurant and I had no clue what this random pho restaurant was doing in the heart of Salt Lake. What I didn't know is that the restaurant was featured in the Food Network. The sandwiches were soo good and I loved the pho. We left the restaurant full and content before our flight back home. Amazing food. Definitely a locals choice
google avatar

Tina N.

Yelp
Got the Rainbow Salad. It was better than expected with its fresh mango and veggies. It was crunchy, sweet, salty, and acidic. Would definitely come back to get this again.
google avatar

Amanda R.

Yelp
Oh Mai is a favorite locally owned restaurant. The fresh dishes range from spring rolls, bánh mì sandwiches, and delicious phó. If you've never been, you need to go try it at least once! My go-to favorite is the yellow curry chicken báhn mì. It is such a flavorful sandwich with all sorts of great textures and flavors. There are a few Oh Mai restaurants open across the valley now because their food is so good. In fact, they were nationally recognized and featured on The Food Network's program Diners Drive-Ins and Dives. Five stars for quality of sandwiches, fresh ingredients, and excellent prices.
google avatar

Jared Y.

Yelp
I've had Banh Mi from Oh Mai a few times but haven't gotten around to writing a review until now. First, this place has a sort of divey feel. A converted house, a small parking lot in the back, sort of dark interior with worn wood tables, the little deli or whatever glass thing next to the register that isn't being used for its designed purpose. But their food is on point! I get Banh Mi when I go to Oh Mai, but I have gone with others who have had the Pho. Their Pho looks fine, but I don't think it's worth going out of you way for. Their Banh Mi, on the other hand, is awesome! Their bread is perfect, the freshness is amazing and the flavors really pop. I've had a few different sandwiches. I gravitate towards the Garlic Ribeye (S8) and Spicy Beef (S9) but my wife really likes the Honey Glazed Pork (S2). I should probably make an effort to try a few more, but I enjoy the ones I've found so much I don't want to take a chance ordering something else. Service is always somewhat curt it seems, but never rude. They're all business at the Oh Mai. You tell them what wonderful sandwich you want and they make it for you. Done!
google avatar

Helen H.

Yelp
I ordered the cold cuts banh mi to go. The lady making it was able to place the vegetables in a ziploc bag, since I wasn't going to be eating the sandwich until later. It prevented the baguette from getting soggy. There was only one person making the sandwiches, but it came out quickly since there wasn't a line. The sandwich was good and filling. Even so, it doesn't compare to my favorite banh mi place in Sacramento.
google avatar

Sean R.

Yelp
I usually go to the downtown location but decided to stop in for a quick lunch with some friends since we were in the area. I got the Sinner sandwich with the pork belly, and was a little disappointed as it was almost just all fat in the first half, but the second half which I wrapped and ate at home later that day was actually much better (and oddly enough the jalapeños were also much spicier on this half too). The fatty pork belly is the only reason it's not 5 stars, I have also tried the Panang Curry here which is amazing. This location is open for dine in, but they have a tiny parking lot that is very easy to miss.

Yelp
Stopped in today after doing some shopping. I have had their sandwiches before when it was ordered for a work lunch but this was my first time in the shop itself. Quaint little space with a few small tables, picnic style tables and benches and large round table. You go up to the counter to order and then they bring it to you when it's ready. Husband ordered the honey glazed pork banh mi and I ordered the vegan. The bread is so crisp on the outside and the sandwich is packed with filling. I ordered mine with no carrots or jalapeno but it still had a little kick to it. But not intolerable since I can't handle any spice. The veggies inside the sandwiches were crisp and fresh. And everything comes together to make for a flavor packed meal! Husband really enjoyed his as this was his first time here. The pork was not overpowering and the glaze was just sweet enough to compliment the salty meat. The veggies offered with the sandwiches are unique and not something you find everywhere making these special. I never thought to put cilantro on a sandwich!! So good!!! They didn't come with any sides but it was so hearty the sandwich alone was enough. And all reasonably priced (two sandwiches and a soda for $13!!) Husband said the pho looked amazing too so we will have to come back to try it. Bathrooms clean, friendly and fast service and a great little spot to come in for a quick meal without eating like you're at a fast food restaurant.

Yelp
Oh Mai used to be a regular for us when we lived in Murray, I craved pho constantly through two pregnancies, but we moved so haven't ordered it more than twice a year since 2020. I was so bummed this past takeout experience! Prices have literally doubled, P6 used to be 7.98, now 14.98, which I can understand with food costs, but portion sizes are half of what they used to be. If you're raising prices for food cost adjustments, shouldn't that be so you can maintain previous standards? My one bowl of pho was over $20, because I added veggies and 1 portion extra ribeye, but I had 5 pieces of meat total in my bowl, which included 3/4 of a meatball. Also, they don't include hoisin/sriracha in takeout orders like they used to. Maybe you have to ask for it now? Such a bummer, hope they can go back to being awesome sometime soon.

Yelp
I was so excited to see this place! I can't believe the good reviews it's gotten after the experience I had there. The woman working the counter was just 100% uninterested, did not want to answer or be asked a question, was distant, not engaged, kind of more like staring off into space than anything else while I tried to get information about what to order. It was a self-service situation that happened to need to go through this 'human' who really wasn't ... in terms of the way she acted. You can't just turn a banh mi sandwich into a wrap! Why? Because, hello, the bread normally soaks up any extra liquid so if you're going to take that soaking ability away you need to also have less liquid, so ... it was gross and messy; this is the exact type of situation I was obviously trying to avoid by asking questions in advance, but it was clear I was to make up my own mind and just tell her so I did and it was awful! That wasn't the only thing bad about the food or service or parking or location but ... it's sure more than I want to even remember already! Getting on T.V. does not make a place good!
google avatar

Tyler N.

Yelp
Unfortunately I didn't like the food even though I wanted to support a small local business. The staff was very friendly but the pho was lacking - the broth wasn't very flavorful and the noodles were too chewy. The place seemed very popular so maybe the banh mi (sandwiches) is the better option. The Vietnamese iced coffee was also not very good since it tasted watered down and too bitter, definitely lacking in the condensed milk.

Yelp
Best bahn mi in SLC!!! I've been eating these Vietnamese sandwiches for years all over Portland, San Fran, and yes vietnam!!!!! I tried a few places in SLC but got really discouraged that I would never find a good bahn mi in SLC until I found OH MAI!!! If you know what a bahn mi is go here!!! If you've never had one before go here!!!
