"Friday is fish day in the Caribbean, and the village of Oistins, on Barbados ’s southern coast, hosts its famous Oistins Fish Fry. During the week, market stalls sell fresh dorado, barracuda, swordfish and more. Come Friday night, locals, dressed in their finest, along with tourists drink beer and rum and enjoy heaping plates of grilled fish, fish cakes and lobster. Stalls sell crafts, and everyone dances to live music from the band shell."

Friday night fish market, one of the most intense experiences in my whole life, and I write that in a positive sense! Fantastic food, great atmosphere, locals and tourists everywhere, smoke, music, noise, colors, smell, tastes, etc, etc. All senses touched in lovely way. Highly recommend!!!

Great vibes on a Friday night for the famous Friday Fish Fry with lots of vendors selling fish dishes with lots of sides. You can get meat dishes too but mostly fish. Turn up and grab a table. Kinda like a food court set up where you can sit pretty much anywhere. Get there for around 5:30p to secure a good table in front or near the stage. Expect lots of people and busy crowds but the vibe is great. We ended up leaving before the live music came on but was still really enjoyable. There was a HUGE queue for Pat’s Place which seems to be very well known but there are lots of other good places so maybe don’t just follow the crowd. We went to Chillin and Grillin. The food was very tasty and a decent price. Definitely worth checking out if you’re visiting. You can jump on a bus or take a taxi and as it’s a bit out of the way from where most tourists stay.

A wonderful place to gather have some delious food grab a drink or two and then dance to the music until 1am. There are two stages with the smaller front one for an older crowd and then the main stage for the younger ones

Full of authenticity and local vibes. Colorful place, full of energy. It's also located in the heart of Oistins, so you have outside market, supermarket, post office and basically everything you might need. The food is absolutely delicious, fresh and made in front of you.

Very fun vibe and good food. Here on a Friday to enjoy the music. Lines get long quickly, so if you don't want a long line show up before 6pm

Oistins was so much fun. The Friday Fish Fry was everything. The food was amazing. I ate at Dora and Jazzies and my husband ate at Angela's. At Dora and Jazzies the rice and peas, wedge potatoes, coleslaw and shrimp were so delicious. My husband does not eat seafood so thankfully Angela's had chicken kabobs. But he shared my rice and peas and potatoes. I think our food was better than the places with long lines. The entertainment on the stage was great and fun. The vendors selling souvenirs had decent prices.

A must see when you are on island. Friday nights are the best. Food choices are open here. We ate at two different shops and wow food was never disappointed. Would highly recommend Moe's and Uncle George.

Local market with a local vibe, local food, local music and much love. Food from Pat's place just the best, great flavours, plenty food cooked right in front of you, get there well before 18.00 to miss the long, long queues. 2 hours wait, was it worth it? Absolutely. Friday night is the night to be visit and enjoy the great music and electric atmosphere.
