Ojo Caliente – A Perfectly Relaxing Getaway Ojo Caliente is a great time without any pretense. It’s not highbrow or stuffy, but wonderfully low-key and welcoming. We enjoyed two delicious dinners during our stay, each one relaxed and satisfying. The various mineral baths were refreshing. Our Cliffside room was beautiful, with a private outdoor bath on the back patio that made the experience feel extra special. The massage with Angie was absolutely fantastic—one of the best we’ve had. Everything about our stay was just perfect. We’d come back here again without hesitation. Tip: make a trip to Abuquii (35 minutes away), delightful.

Reservation system seems to constantly lose reservations. Booked online, but it never got registered with the system. Took two phone calls to finally get it confirmed, and when it did they apparently dropped the spa package I'd originally booked. The system then failed to register a dinner reservation that I made. The front desk made every effort to make this right and did it with utmost politeness. They're a five star group, but this shouldn't be their responsibility to deal with. I really appreciate their intervention though. Otherwise, excellent place, maybe not totally worth the money. WiFi was terrible in the rooms. Bathroom wasn't totally clean and the various toiletry bottles were almost empty. Coffee maker wasn't functional. The wristband idea is great, but they definitely need an adjustable size range, since it will fall off if you're on the smaller side. For what it cost, I sort of expect the basics to be there along with the beautiful extras.

We stayed at Ojo Santa Fe Resort & Spa for two nights in the middle of our 15-day Southwest vacation, intentionally choosing this spot to recharge, and it delivered.||Admittedly, we were skeptical as we drove in, unsure if we were headed the right way. But the moment we turned onto the property, any concerns vanished. This place is tranquil, lush, and thoughtfully designed, a true oasis.||The grounds are beautifully green and peaceful. Our room had a comfortable bed and a private balcony overlooking open fields, which made morning coffee feel like a retreat in itself. The soaking tubs, both public and private, were phenomenal. They were clean, well-maintained, and deeply relaxing. We also booked massages, which were very nice and added to the overall sense of renewal.||The food was very enjoyable, with a variety of well-prepared dishes and great service. We appreciated being just far enough from downtown Santa Fe to avoid the noise while still being close enough to explore when we wanted.||If you're looking to unwind, reconnect, or simply pause during a packed trip, this place is a perfect fit.

The grounds are beautiful and peaceful. We enjoyed soaking and lounging around the property and also visited the chickens and puppies during our visit. There were some definite downsides, the nature walk being one. It was very unkempt with piles of broken chairs and old equipment littering the grounds. Most dissatisfying was the customer service. We arrived early to soak before our check in and were told multiple times to return the day pass robes or we would be charged. Later when we checked in for our room, in the heat of the day, making the drive around the property ready to relax, we found our room only to discover they did not put us in the room type we had reserved. We went back to the front to have this corrected and were given a different key with no explanation or apology. When we got to our correct room, there was a housekeeper inside still cleaning it. Called the front desk to ask when it would be ready and they stated it should be already then put us on hold for over 10min. When they got back on the line they said “we just called and your room is ready”. Again no apology and even a tone that we were making it up. The room was very nice however the AC didn’t work and privacy blinds were not functional. This was important the next morning when a housekeeper arrived to clean the room prior to checkout and saw us naked. We mentioned that when we checked out, another strange interaction, to which they replied “they were probably just checking if you had left yet.” Why would that make it ok and why wouldn’t they know? We still had to return our ever important robes and wrist bands, our car was registered with them and parked just outside the casita, and it was more than an hour before check out time. We did enjoy our time overall but some small adjustments in how they interact would go a long way.

I wish this was going to be a fabulous review, but it's not. I will start with the positive, however. Our 2 dinners and lunch at the Blue Heron were really good. The soaking pools were exactly what they were supposed to be...relaxing and peaceful. However, the condition of things in our room were abominable. The bed. The entire thing should have been replaced many moons ago. The mattress sunk in the middle. I am not exaggerating when I say SUNK. Then the platform bed structure was on its last leg. Every time my husband and I moved, it cracked and creaked as if it was going to break completely down. The lamps appeared to be nice until you tried to adjust the shades so they were straight. Nope. The shades were ill-fitted for the base. Lopsided they stayed. Fresh New Mexico air? Not available. There were no screens on the windows. Opening the windows resulted in The March of the Flies and Mosquitoes. Right in they came. As a result, the dampness in the room was not manageable and our clothes were smelly and damp when we got home. There was no provision for hanging up your wet bathing suits for them to dry. Such a frustration. Three last issues...signage says no skin-protection lotions allowed to maintain the integrity of the soaking pools' water. OK, I get that, but the pools are out in the sun. Some shade but not enough to keep fair skinned or vulnerable-to-skin-cancer folks (like myself) protected. The burn both my husband and I got was severe. Secondly, the muffin we got from the cafe for breakfast had to be 4 days old. Not edible. Too dry. Peaceful and restful? An extremely rude couple with whom we unfortunately shared the dining room for dinner chose this time to take care of business using the speaker phone on the woman's cell. When I asked the manager to ask the woman to leave the restaurant to finish her "business," I was told the manager wasn't allowed to enforce the peacefulness and tranquility of the restaurant. Really? OK. Forewarned. Ojo Santa Fe has some work to do to earn a 5 star. I hope they get busy.

We tend to visit resorts in November because that’s when my husbands birthday is, so we visited in late November. It was pretty cold but we obviously expected that and still had a wonderful time. The rooms are beautiful, very private, and feel luxury. Reusable plastic water bottles are in the room to take to the hot springs (glass would be dangerous), and umbrellas are provided in the room for use on the grounds which came in handy. We soaked in many pools, including the private room, the one attached to the cafe was our favorite. Unfortunately room service is not available (it wasn’t Nov’23, maybe that’s changed) so to order breakfast or coffee you have to go on a short walk to pick it up; it was pretty cute, a lot of husbands were on morning coffee runs together). The food is delicious, spa is phenomenal and private soaks are certainly worth it. A highlight for us that was very unexpected was that there are adoptable puppies on site that you can visit! What a great was to keep some pups out of the shelter and socialize them. There are also chickens on site which can be visited.

I went to Ojo Santa Fe with a friend for a romantic weekend, it was truly one of the most fabulous spa experiences I've ever had! We both absolutely loved it so much. The food was amazing and the staff was over the top excellent... Lucy from housekeeping cleaned our room better than I've ever had at any hotel visit, and Ozzy the housekeeping manager was so accommodating with all of our requests and just amazing. We went to Ojo Caliente on the third day and that was the most amazing Hot Springs I've ever been to.. all of the different pools with different minerals or just spectacular. We had lunch there and the food was even better than Ojo Santa Fe. I would highly recommend booking at both locations.|We both agreed we will definitely have another visit there sometime soon!

Google
We visited and soaked for the day on a day pass so cannot review the rooms. The grounds are beautiful, serene, relaxing. Next time in Santa Fe, will plan a night or two here. The restaurant's outdoor area is LOVELY and the food was nice. Highly recco the Mango Mimosa!

Yelp
Just a note of thanks for the service provided by the Ojo Santa Fe in handling the cancellation of our reservations when my wife took ill (on her birthday) and we couldn't make it.

Yelp
I came to Ojo Santa Fe for my birthday, as I'd never been, and it's free for your birthday as an NM resident. It was cold for our soak. It had snowed lightly when we arrived, and the parking lot was a mess. We had trouble finding where to check in for a soak, and there wasn't a friendly employee to ask; we just wandered around until we found it. When we finally got the attention of the ladies checking people in, they told us towels and robes were out. They didn't have any! How can a resort that costs this much not have any robes or towels? We drove up here, so we paid and then raided my car for something to use as a towel. Thankfully, I had supplies in my car that we could use. We did the shower, locker room changing routine, and went to the soaking pools. It was pretty crowded for a Monday, and the security guard there was rude to patrons. The group in the area with us was whispering and someone giggled, he threatened to kick them out. We also checked out the location further away and were able to soak there for a bit; this further back the larger group soaking area, where we could speak without being reprimanded like toddlers. I am disappointed, and we won't be back. Ojo is no longer for NM residents but tourists, and it is obvious. They are strictly for-profit and don't care about cleanliness or providing basic things like towels.

Yelp
Travelers beware! This place is gorgeous and the restaurant is superb but beyond these elements lies a nightmare. I brought 8 writers to Ojo Santa Fe for workshops and a retreat. I was promised a small gathering room but they told me no when we arrived. My mother's vintage coffee pot was STOLEN. One of the rooms literally had blood stained sheets. Once we started looking around we saw the place was ill maintained in many ways. Like fire alarms hanging by cords from the ceilings. Further, when the wokmen in the group went to soak in the various pools they were harrassed by an obnoxious persistent guest. Complain? There was nobody to talk to. Nice house, nobody home!

Yelp
The pools and the grounds are lovely enough, but it's the service that drives the ratings down. The staff is barely competent, clearly doesn't care, has zero attunement to working in a spa setting, and therefore cultivating a relaxing, replenishing environment for the paying customers. Don't even get me started on the stupid iPads they make their customers fill out before being granted entrance (filthy, cold, EMF-radiating and anti-human). But, what did it for me this time was after the curt, unfriendly, super very slow cashier took her sweet time checking us in for a private soak (caring not at all that her pace was cutting into our soak time), she had the nerve to ask - out loud - for a tip. Not sure why this person thinks she deserves a gratuity for simply doing her job, and doing it without any extra oomph, warmth, kindness, competence or speed, but that she would have the gall to ASK for a tip? Out loud? With her mouth? For reals? So tacky. So gross. Total turn-off. My boyfriend has already refused to go back. Way to turn off the customers who've kept you in business. As well, please note that my boyfriend was interested in purchasing a few things from the boutique, but because the staff was more interested in gossiping and ignoring him than offering to help, Ojo Santa Fe lost yet another sale. Epic fail.

Yelp
On our recent trip to Santa Fe, my friend and I were looking for a spa for a little relaxation. We looked at all of the spas in the area and had wanted to go to Ojo Caliente (their larger sister spa), but with only half a day to spend, we chose the smaller spa closer to Santa Fe. My friend had recently been to a soaking spa in Colorado, so was super excited for the soaking tubs. We drove in from the mountain area, where we had spent our morning hiking. While driving in closer to the spa, we started to feel that the location was strange. We exited the interstate and drove along a small road that wasn't very picturesque. We didn't think it felt like the road to a spa. And when we arrived in the parking lot, the resort looked a bit like a warehouse. Luckily, when we walked in, it looked much nicer. We checked into the spa and bought the day soaking pass. They directed us to the locker rooms, the soaking pools and a small concession area, as the main restaurants were closed after lunch hour. My favorite part of the spa was the picturesque and tranquil views from the soaking pools. I also liked the small area with the hottest and largest soaking tub. The negatives were that they do not allow drinks at the soaking tubs, and I was surprised to see that they were not selling wine or champagne. I was also surprised to see that even though the pools were not too crowded, every single chaise was taken,.. making me wonder what they do during more crowded seasons. We were only given one bowl to take to the pools with us. There were no extra towels in the locker room for showering later, which made things a bit miserable. I would have given this spa three stars, but the main disappointment was that my friend and I both burned our legs on the outside of one of the soaking pools. We were getting out one of the pool and the sun shining on the metal. The outside edge was super hot and it really hurt. My friend's leg was red. I truly don't understand this issue, at this was New Mexico in April. Truthfully it gets a lot hotter in the summer and I can't imagine those burning cauldrons in the summer. All in all, this place has some potential, but I wouldn't return.

Yelp
We had a lovely time here! Our group did a day pass to enjoy the springs and I got in for free as it was my birthday, so highly recommend going here on your special day. It is quiet and calming. The pools are smaller when compared to the Taos location but when you go in knowing this, it is not a shocker. I do wish there were swimsuit drying options, that is always problematic when leaving a spa.

Yelp
The meal at the Blue Heron was great but that is where the "greatness" ended. We booked a private ojitos tub which wasn't really private as the louvres didn't fully close. I'm sure the other guests didn't pay for the extra show. No fire in the outdoor private kiva fireplace and lots of ashes to boot. Other people's hair balls here and there. Lukewarm water in the tub, and the steam shower, which isn't totally private, was not working and only one bathroom was working. The gate clanged open and shut the entire time. No robes were handed out as they told us they didn't "have enough". The ojito room needed sweeping and there was very little water in the water dispenser. We left after thirty minutes. Also it's Christmas and they have $160 of my money now. Get it together Ojo. The no bueno Christmas experience.

Yelp
Took a day off to relax and selfcare at Ojo Santa Fe. We booked a private soak that was spectacular! Super calm chill environment, the private ojito was clean, the water was perfect! My only issue was the staff. The check in team was very friendly but the staff that took us to the room was not the most friendly. Did not show us the locker room, restrooms, walked really fast gave us a quick run down and left. Coulda been a bad day, will not stop me from going again!!! Though we did not eat the food smelled amazing!! Next time will be an overnight stay for sure!!

Yelp
Oh my goodness where do I begin . Such amazing staff , beauty is everywhere , the resort is quiet and peaceful and the accommodations are just serene . No tvs and no outlets by the beds so you're made to unplug . Make sure to take advantage of puppy play time and chat with the chickens I did not want to leave and can't wait to return .

Sarah I.

Yelp
Update: I did receive a call back from the reservation manager. She did apologize but said they don't have a TJ that works in reservations . This means the person I was speaking with lied to me about their name because they knew their behavior was inappropriate. I appreciate the call back but I won't be trying to make a reservation at this establishment.

Danace Y.

Yelp
I really don't know why the ratings are so low on this spot. I hate that people are comparing this one to the one in Taos. It's not competition time at all. It's like comparing Disney world to Disney land, in resrospect: 1. It's only a 2 hour drive to and from Albuquerque. Meaning you can actually have a nice staycation and if you don't have any PTO or days left to accommodate, you only need your birthday day (which you get in free) to have. 2. Service is amazing, from the Spa to the restaurant. My friends burrito was baby size. And the champagne selections are not also great but also delicious. 3. The place has a very chill relaxing vibe, I couldn't believe that I was in Santa Fe, it's very tranquil inside of Ojo Plus: you get to pet Puppies, puppies people. Which are also adoptable I mean come on

Yelp
A fantastic place to stop by for a relaxing soak. Currently, there are four ojitos open, plus a long bath and a medium size salt-water bath deeper into the resort's sprawling campus. The steam rooms are currently being re-tiled, but the resort is offering public guests access to the dry sauna as a substitute. In general, we stayed here for an entire afternoon, and absolutely loved it. A few general tips for travelers: Bring a full change of clothes separate from your swimsuit, as there were not excellent swimsuit drying options beyond toweling off. Water bottles are allowed inside, and can definitely be handy if you like things on the hot side. Ojitos- These were warm, but not particularly hot, the coolest of them being shaded. If you are of fair complexion and intend to spend significant time here, consider a hat to combat sunburn, as sunscreen is not permitted. Long Bath- Really loved the design of this bath. Long with stairs and a sturdy handle for entry, a bench to sit on, and smooth stones of various sizes set in the concrete to make it comfortable yet non-slip. A step warmer than the ojitos, but the bench side is shaded by bushes. Unfortunately, quite a lot of vegetal detritus in the water, but otherwise, very nice. Salt Bath- Just off of the swimming pool, the salt bath is the hottest of the public baths, and therefore my personal favorite, although it was the most industrial option. Shoes of some kind are required to traverse the paths leading to this area. Dry Sauna - At 170, the dry sauna is plenty hot. If you like sweating it out, this is pure gold, but do be careful not to give yourself heatstroke. The Puppies- The sign does warn that they can bite, and my partner in fact was bitten. The puppy pen was not particularly clean when we were there, and the smell of puppy wafted quite a ways downstream from the main building. I would skip. Shoes of some kind are required to traverse the paths leading to this area.

Yelp
I've enjoyed a really great multi-day stay at Ojo Santa Fe, enjoying the hot pools and sauna and restaurant and so on, but I hardly review anything ever so I would have just gone on with my life not posting about it - until today, when I had the best massage/treatment of my LIFE from Erika at Ojo Santa Fe Spa. (And I have had many luxury massages in Scottsdale, Napa, and other top tier cities for spa treatments.) The "Lavender Body Quench Massage and Wrap" service from Erika is THE reason I am going to book another stay at Ojo Santa Fe and fly back here in the next 6 months. Absolutely 11/10 experience across any attribute that matters for a massage. Erika is worth her weight in gold and I hope Ojo does good by her to keep her forever because I'll keep coming back! Service in general has been really lovely actually, really pleased.

Yelp
I do appreciate the grounds at Ojo Santa Fe, but since my first visit to Ojo was the Caliente location, I have to say that I prefer Caliente. The amenities at Ojo Santa Fe are nice. They have locker rooms with showers (toiletries like shampoo, conditioner, and soap are included). If you are able to snag a locker, you also get a towel. However, I met a woman in the locker room who said they weren't able to get one. I'm not sure what that's about. The pools are in a beautiful setting. However, the atmosphere is different than the one at Caliente. At Ojo Caliente, they prioritize quiet and relaxation. Quiet is even enforced by the staff, and everyone is expected to whisper/use quiet voices. At Ojo Santa Fe there was so much talking in every single pool. It meant there was never a quiet moment during our visit. I'm okay with it, I just didn't expect it after my experience at the other location. I would visit again since they're so close.

Yelp
Absolute heaven! This is our second time dining at the Blue Heron and participating in a private soak. This time we got a Private Ojito for 2 hours and it was absolute heaven. They set up a fire for us, we relaxed in the water, enjoyed the music and breeze. I would recommend this to anyone!

Yelp
I found this to be a relaxing stay. The room was not dirty nor buggy, although I could hear every step from the room above mine. The setting is like a large park with the salt pool, long pool and spring pools spread out. Be prepared for stairs!

Joaquin R.

Yelp
Paid a ton to spend the night here and soak. They don't even have robes to go walk to the hot springs in. Called to asked them to be delivered, never happened.

Yelp
Truly paradise. Equally opulent, but grounded and humble at the same time. Well integrated within the landscape with impeccable attention to detail. Hot Springs - 3 repose pools in the main area and large soak pool. Heated to the perfect temperature. Rooms - cozy and comfortable. Love the fact that there are no TVs. Though, you may hear things through the walls. Puppy patch - Puppies. Enough said. Grounds - tranquil, peaceful, perfect. Small enough to get anywhere within minutes, large enough to feel like a whole world in itself. Other - surprisingly well equipped fitness center, loved the cafe and free coffee in the morning. Great products (lotion, shampoo/conditioner, etc.). Triple filtered spring water was super delicious (can water even be delicious?) lol. Very kind staff :)

Krissi j.

Yelp
Ok. I'll give the pros and cons (depending on preferences) Pros: gorgeous grounds with fountains, paths, all of the different plunging pools, fruit trees, pond with ducks and turtles, etc. Beautiful grounds. Our room was wonderful. Clean, spacious, fireplace, no problems with the air conditioning, Direct TV, no issues with internet. Lunch food was great on site! There are water fill up stations all around the resort for your water bottles. They provide you with robes and slippers for your stay. The pools are great! Lots of variety. They also offer cold water and cookies in the registration office on the weekends. Cons (depending on your preferences): No smart TV, so no ability to login to Netflix, Amazon, etc. Smaller rooms don't even have a TV. No charging ports in the room/casitas. Just basic outlets. No black out curtains or drapes. Had quite a lot of bugs in our room (live spider on my bed, beetles, etc). Black mold/mildew in our shower where they very clearly tried to paint over it and cover it up. The staff were bizarre. Really odd people. For example, there were 5 of us in our group and when we checked into the restaurant for our reservation, the man asked us if there were 4 of us (while looking at all 5 of us). And, there were only 5 of us waiting to be seated, so it should not have been that difficult to count. We told him that no, there were five of us, just like the five that were on the reservation. He seemed confused, but seated us anyway. While at dinner, our waiter came up to our table of five, and strangely asked one of us if she was staying there with the rest of us at the resort. It made no sense at all and came out of nowhere. We were all wearing our resort bands, and we don't know why he singled her out. The food took a really long time to arrive. For example, we ate lunch on the patio, and our waitress forgot about us. We didn't see her for 27 minutes. We had to ask someone else where our food was. We waited 43 minutes for our basic lunches which were just a salad, a sandwich, and three tacos. It should not have taken an hour for our lunches. Then, when we ate dinner at the restaurant, it took a really long time as well. We ordered our food, and clearly told the waiter that he could start the food right away (because we already knew it might take a while because of what happened at lunch), and he brought out the appetizer (a salad) 14 minutes later. After we ate the appetizer, he then came up to the table and asked if we were ready for him to start the grill to begin on the main dinners. We were bewildered because we made it very clear to him that we wanted him to start the food asap. So again, we had to wait an hour and nine minutes before we got our dinners. A simple dinner took 3 hours and 46 minutes. And, the food was not great. I ordered the ribeye with a medium temp, and it came out well done and charred on the outside. I had ordered a bread pudding for dessert, and it came out as a flan. We asked if the waiter could split our bill, and he was thoroughly confused and couldn't figure out what we meant. It took two men coming over to our table on multiple occasions for us to explain what 'splitting the bill' meant. Also, it's very expensive to use the spa, and keep in mind that during your spa service, they leave the windows open in your service room. So the heat from the sun comes in on you while you are trying to relax for a massage, and you hear everybody outside the window talking and making loud noises. We had four people in our group of five choose to have massages, and there is one man there that gave massages to two people in our group. They both asked for a soft massage, and instead of massaging them for $200 each, he chose to go rogue and do bodywork on them instead. So, for the money that you pay, keep in mind that you will not get what you want necessarily.

Kayleigh B.

Yelp
We didn't stay at the resort because the room we were looking at didn't have bathrooms, so we decided to do a day at ojo instead. We loved it. We are usually busy ALL the time so it was incredible to be there, relax, soak in a private soaking area, do the sauna and eat at their INCREDIBLE restaurant. Shout out to Ester who was the best server. She was so kind I loved her. I would definitely recommend to stop in for a day.

Kirk B.

Yelp
Property and long tub were beautiful. However, the rooms are very outdated. Definitely could use a little love for $400 a night. Definitely need to have a place for breakfast before 10am. Left early to go find a breakfast place.

Yelp
Just checked into one of the casitas 30 minutes ago and the pillows and sheets are filthy and stained. Trying to get ahold of the front desk to change the linens.

Yelp
We spent the night here at the newer Santa Fe location. It's a little different than the original Ojo. Was told after the fact that the springs are more man-made than natural. Not sure if you can really feel the difference. But the experience here is still A plus. Key differences with the other Ojo is that this one is much more spread out and really the size of a full resort. You can get lost in here. Literally. Some little lights along the path when crawling back in the dark might help. Different amenities with staying the night include your own slippers, robe, refillable water bottles, towels, coffee and tea. It would be beneficial if they had a towel exchange room or process. I think they wanted you to ideally keep the same towels the entire stay to save on cleaning. But it sucks when they get soaking wet half way through the day. The room we stayed in was like our own private little house. There are no tvs in the rooms which kind of ads to the whole turning yourself off from virtual life aspect. It's a nice touch. I still was able to get wifi from my unlimited data plan though so jokes on you. But I really liked the fire place (it was real) that had an automatic timer to shut it off. Also, really appreciated the champagne they brought up to our room. It was such a nice touch to our trip. Numerous hot tubs at different temperatures, a gigantic heated swimming pool, beautiful grounds. There's one main restaurant (Blue Heron) on the premises that's more expensive and then another little cafe hut that sells beer, wine, cocktails, and sandwiches and snacks that's significantly cheaper. The Sage's Cafe is also directly next to one of my personal favorite hot pools so that was a plus. Although, no alcohol or food is allowed near the pools to keep in mind. I think the only thing we didn't hit up were the special massages because those cost extra and the saunas I couldn't figure out where they were. But I could live without sauna time. Other regret I missed out on is the puppy and chicken petting farms. Lol. They have very specific times to attend those activities. There's also hiking trails all over the property. There's enough to do to keep you busy and entertained I would say for exactly two days, which was what we did. I wouldn't stay more time unless you have the duckets for it.

Yelp
This was my first time at a Wellness spa. Here is what I would find helpful to know: - bring sandals to walk around for soaks - do the free daily yoga at 9am. - There are no TVs - there are 2 food options onsite. Blue Herron is the fancy one and the cafe near yoga. Food options open at 8am although signs may say otherwise - if you will be there multiple days, get a car rental as there is nothing really close, it's about 20 min from downtown Sante Fe - sign up for any spa treatments ahead of time. There really isn't a ton of spa amenities that are not available to overnight guests. The only room was a eucalyptus steam room - there are some green juices in the spa store if you want a quick breakfast - there is a microwave near the ice machine in the casitas - they give you a complimentary bottle to refill on site, the bottles are Very easy to break. My friend broke 2 of them. We went in early November and it got a little cold. Would have been great if the facility has warmed towels ready by the pools!!

Yelp
Ojo was a relaxing, peaceful experience. I got a wonderful hot stone massage and my husband had a CBD massage. Afterward we soaked in the soaking tubs and tried some of the spa's shakes. The grounds are well kept and the staff is friendly. Since it's located on the outskirts of Santa Fe, you can see the stars clearly at night if there are no clouds. This spa is for relaxation and reflection. There are no TVs in the bedrooms, and there was not a table a couple could sit at to play board games in the room. Overall, a very good experience. Worth it if you're getting a massage and soaking, but if not it would be too expensive for a quiet hotel.

Yelp
More of a party scene than a tranquil experience- loud talking, laughing, open alcohol in the pools.

Yelp
WANT PEACE AND QUIET? DON'T GO HERE. Ojo Santa Fe is not a quiet place. Everyone talks and Ojo does NOTHING to stop it. As a long-time local, I used to enjoy going here, but not anymore. Each time I go is worse than the last. One dude was watching a football game on his phone, IN THE HOT SPRINGS POOL, with it propped up so no one could escape it. Another was using a bluetooth speaker and playing fratboy music! I go to spas to relax, not party. If you want to party, rent a private pool! It is embarrassing how little the staff does to curb these activities. If you truly want peace and quiet, go somewhere else, like Ten Thousand Waves. Ojo Caliente isn't much better (at times), but at least the staff up there makes a little bit of effort to quiet all the rude people.

Yelp
Ordered 2 Cappucinos from the Sages Cafe and Lounge: a little disappointed that they ran out of oat milk, so I chose almond milk. Since I usually rate cappuccinos with oat or regular milk, I am less familiar with how it should foam with almond milk, so I will leave that alone. Otherwise, the coffee tasted well with a mild and nutty taste. The feel of the place is very relaxing as the coffee shop is in a spa with a hot tub outside. Service was fast. Not sure about the other services provided here as I was only here for the yoga class.

Yelp
The space is very large for only having 6 pools to soak in. The cold salt water pool felt nice but it's just a standard outdoor pool set up so it's lacking atmosphere. Staff are all young and very nice but it definitely gives a public pool vibe instead of a spa. They don't have bathing suit dryers in the washrooms and you have to ask the counter for a plastic bag for your wet suit. Overall just very perturbed on why the property is so vast and the pools are so spare. Maybe the massages and treatments if you stay here make up for it

Yelp
This review is for the DAY PASS and SOAKING POOLS only. I got baked here, and I don't mean drunk ... sunburned - but that was my own doing. I did not bring a hat and I simply did not want to use sunscreen. I don't even know if it's allowed (hate to think it is permitted). The sun was hot, sky was blue, and the setting was ever so wonderful. I am a water person (not a mountain person) and seeing the spring fed pool and the Adirondack chairs immediately set the mood. I walked down the stairs (there are quite a few stairs) and then to the furthest salt water pool. HEAVEN. Swam and chatted with friends and then into the hot tub. Again, wonderful... From there we took our time trying out the other pools. After about 4 hours we felt truly zen and decided to call it a day. Tips: 1) Do bring sandals because the stone paths will not be good on bare feet, 2) Bring a credit card with you to the pools - there is a building near the long narrow pool (forget it's name) where you can get a drink and snacks. The patio there is wonderful too. 3) There is a steam room but not a sauna unfortunately.

Yelp
Such a beautiful location! Everything was so green and the pond also had this emerald green color. We were so happy to just explore and walk the grounds. We did have a massage here which were great! Loved that the masseuse was able to accommodate me when I mentioned that I had surgery and needed a light touch. I almost fell asleep! This is an all day type of day which unfortunately we did not have but I wish we could've had more time because it truly was a tranquil place to unwind after a long day of driving.

Yelp
We've been here several times & I'm so relaxed when I leave, I forget to review! I've never been to the "original" Ojo and, as much as we love this place, I may not make it that far. Why travel that far when we have an OASIS in our backyard!? A massage is nice (highly recommended), but we also love to just buy a day pass & relax in the hot pools by the lake. Always relaxing &, when I get too hot, I can relax on one of the comfy lounge chairs or swing in one of the fun hammocks! Lunch/brunch at their bistro is always tasty & the service is great! They serve Iconik coffee!! :) Don't miss the "hidden" large swimming pool behind the BEAUTIFUL lawn you can see behind the lake. More shaded lounge chairs & a whole ROW of hammocks! AND another Hot Tub! AND THEY HAVE DOGS! On Sundays, twice during the day, they have a kennel where you can go meet the dog of your dreams & take him/her home with you! :) WIN/WIN! We always hate to leave, but we know we'll be back. Easy drive from downtown Santa Fe... or just go straight from the airport, if you're visiting, and start the vacation RIGHT! :)

Yelp
This place was clean. The staff are friendly. The variety of types of pools were wonderful. It was super relaxing. I'd go back!

Yelp
There were ants all over the room. One was in the bed. There was a pile in the bathroom and on the little counter top. There was also a spider on the wall. Food wasn't amazing for the price and took too long. The back door doesn't stay locked to the patio.

Joan K.

Yelp
Wonderful quiet and peaceful spa. Pools to meet all needs. Facility is hidden away from the busy world. Very clean and well staffed. Excellent fish tacos and hummus from restaurant. Spinach salad is ok if you like bagged spinach with stems and vinegar. We will go back.

Yelp
Dear Ozzy, Thank you so much for your immediate solution to the room change we needed! Your attention and care was exceptional. This company is lucky to have you! Kind Wishes, Jeanette Williams

Yelp
Stayed the night with my girlfriend and had the most wonderful time. Especially the 2 young gentleman that worked the salt water pool. Armondo, and Jacob made our experience even better. They were so polite and very happy. Always have a big smile and very knowledgeable of ojo Santa Fe. Thank you again for the excellent service and experience. Michael Stafford

Yelp
So glad I squeezed this in to my Santa Fe trip. It was exactly what I needed and more. Highly recommend bringing sunglasses, water bottle, reading material, and a robe (you can rent them here for $18). I spent 5 hours just dipping in the various pools and steam rooms. The cooler weather (low 60s) actually made for the perfect weather to cool off between soaks. The staff was so kind and not even the slightest sense of pretentiousness which made the experience 10x better as a solo traveler and a first time day spa visiter. The coffee (iced vanilla latte) at sages was shockingly delicious the food (harissa chicken wrap) was a little soggy and a little lacking in flavor. The bathroom was just a bit dirty and I wish there were hooks inside the shower for a robe or towel. Overall would absolutely come back and will be recommending to all my friends and family looking for travel recommendations. Ethereal oasis!

Yelp
The moment I was driving through the GATE, I was greeted by a gentleman with the most PIERCING blue eyes and intelligent and knowledgeable help as if I were a damsel in distress. I was immediately taken in by his steel blue gaze and put at ease that he knew all of the answers I was going to ask. He was absolutely delightful and helpful I almost WISHED he was whisking me away to the springs. Jordan was his name. He alone, made my visit WORTH the stay and I will forever think of him wherever I go, and soak. He DEFINITELY was worth and MADE my soak. I will be soaking at LEAST twice per week! I STRONGLY reccomend OJO in Santa Fe NM. !!!!! The food isn't bad either. But Jordan is delicious! He definitely FED My very large appetite. I LOVE sweets.

Yelp
Got the chance to go here for a week long staff retreat and it was simply the best... the ambiance of the entire place was relaxing and the perfect environment for a work retreat. In between retreat items on the agenda, you can swim in one of their many hot springs, get a message at the spa, and even see some puppies or chickens. Staff were attentive and amazing. The food in particular was soooo good and sourced locally. Looking forward to coming back on my own time.

Yelp
I came here for a relaxing time with my mom while we were in town. It was my second time and I'd have to say my first visit might have spoiled me but I still had a good experience. We went on a Friday around 11am and it was pretty crowded. The facilities are clean and well maintained. The hottest pool was 103 degrees- it would have been nice to have one a bit warmer but that might be my only criticism. The other patrons were friendly but consider that most of them are groups with their friends so don't expect a quiet experience if you're coming during peak times. To me, it would be more worth it to come back when the day pass is cheaper (mon-thurs) and less crowded.

Yelp
We came to Ojo for my birthday for a weekend. Upon checking in we were told a new litter of puppies would be coming the next day for the puppy patch. The puppy patch and fitness studio were determining factors between Ojo Santa Fe and Ojo Caliente. Both were unavailable for our stay and we were not told about it until we asked the front desk. We asked the front desk about the puppy patch and was told it would be happening we waited another 20 minutes before asking again and was told the puppy patch would be postponed another day or so. The rest of the spa was very nice. Just the lack of communication was disappointing.

Yelp
We stayed for our anniversary. Osvaldo the manager was exceptional! Just friendly as can be and very customer service oriented. He basically made the entire visit wonderful. The food was good. We came for thanksgiving so different menu. At the dinner we placed an order to go. When we went 25 min later we had one turkey dinner in the bag no wine or the filet dish. There was a young lady, blond with long hair, who I told I was missing one dish. She assumed I said turkey and went to order another one. I checked again and the order was wrong. Then she blames me, when part of her job is verifying the receipt before going to reorder. Before I got there they should have checked my order was complete. There was a young lady named Arely who was very friendly and fixed my receipt since I had two turkey dinners not what I ordered but I didn't want to wait. So we just wanted our receipt corrected and she took care of it. Osvaldo was so great it made up for it. But staff should be thought to check and confirm. There was another couple in front of us also who waited and their reservation wasn't found. So younger staff new to customer service should be better trained to verify and take the extra step to fox the issue not blame the customer for what at the end is part of their job not the customers. We might give the place a try again just because of Osvaldo and his exceptional customer service.

Yelp
TLDR: Skip this place and drive the extra hour to Ojo Caliente We spent two days at Ojo Caliente then two at Ojo Santa Fe, and the experiences could not have been more different. Focusing on Ojo Santa Fe: POOLS - four of the six soaking pools were closed our first day, which was a major bummer because that's half the reason we came. The big pool was supposed to be kept at at least 80°, but it was empty the entire time we were here because it was freezing - it was no more than 70°. That made it hard to enjoy the Sages pool, which was already impossible since a man with a power saw was sawing at a wooden board next to the pool all day. And there are no whispering or relaxation areas here, so you're at the mercy of the visitors who are loud and wasted from sun up to sun down. We saw a man taking shots crawl head first into a trash can and had to listen to a woman talk about how she was so excited for the next civil war. It was a pretty miserable experience all around, and no staff are present to try to help curtail any of this chaos. It's like you're at an apartment pool. RESTAURANTS - Blue Heron was a nightmare. The hostesses are pulling triple duty every night seating guests, clearing tables, and running food, so we waited 30 mins past our reservation every night. Service was painfully slow as they are severely undersraffed; it took 20 mins to even get water. We sat by the window, and our table had ants crawling over it all night. And the food was abysmal. I had the Pasta Pomodoro in Ojo Caliente and it was incredible with fresh sauce and real tomatoes. Had the same dish here, and it is clear that the food here is off the shelf - it legitimately tasted like Chef Boyardee from a can - there wasn't a single tomato in this dish. For a $200 dinner each night, I expected a lot more. Sages was no better. The kid working the counter disappeared for 30 mins with a "be right back" sign and left a queue of 40 people, of which we saw 20+ walk out. He came back higher than I've ever seen a person and couldn't function. It was wild. STAFF - As others have stated, the staff here is minimal and the ones they do have are uninviting. I saw more construction workers than resort staff. The place was disorderly because of this, and the lady at the puppy prep couldn't have been less inviting if she tried. ROOM - We walked in and were hit in the face by the smell of must and mildew. We had to air our room our for half a day, which meant we traded the smell for flies in our room. The A/C hardly worked, and the fitted sheet does not stay on the bed, so we woke up on the mattress protector every morning, which is gross. If you're on the first floor, plan to hear the upstairs neighbor all day/night. We could not sleep due to our noisy neighbor. SPA - had two high end services performed, and they were unremarkable. Again, no attempt is made to keep noise to minimum even in the massage area, so I heard people talking at full volume throughout my entire 130 minute treatment as did my husband in an adjacent room. The locker rooms were cramped anddisorderly. GROUNDS - the picturesque landscape is the only redeeming quality here. It is beautiful, and the garden is very charming. That said, their groundskeeper does let fruit rot all over the place which attracts bugs, and we slipped on a rotten peach our first day here as we went to our room. Can't say enough great things about Ojo Caliente, and even without the comparison, this place would have disappointed me beyond measure. Skip it - you have so many better options at this price point.

Yelp
I enjoyed a day pass on a Saturday of a busy long weekend. Customer service was still top notch in the buzz of activity. I returned later that day, around sunset, and enjoyed the hot springs almost alone, under a clear night sky watching the stars and satellites, alongside a roaring fire pit. It was divine despite the frigid temperature.

Yelp
A friend and I treated ourselves to a spa day during a recent trip to Santa Fe. We had both been to Ojo Caliente before so we were excited to try the Ojo Santa Fe location. Unfortunately, this is not the same relaxing experience. It is a lot smaller space (still very beautiful) but also easier to become very crowded. We chose to purchase a private soaking pool, which I'm glad we did. Although there are sign's everywhere to silence phones, whisper and help create a tranquil environment, that was certainly not the case anywhere on the grounds. The salt pool area was crowded and loud. I will say the all the staff we interacted with were very attentive and friendly. If you are looking for more of a chill, quiet experience I would suggest the other location.

Yelp
What a lovely slice of heaven! I was there during summer 2021 (COVID still wreaking havoc on staffing) and had difficulty being seated for lunch due to lack of staff. My friend and I enjoyed a private sauna experience, which was really lovely and relaxing. The staff who helped us were pleasant and knowledgeable despite being over taxed with too many patrons. The gift store at the spa had suits, hats and towels as well as deliciously scented soaps, candles and lotions. I'll be back!

Yelp
I love Ojo Caliente but its Santa Fe outpost is disappointing. Unlike the original, the Santa Fe outpost doesn't have mineral water. Extra charges for a robe and slippers are annoying but bearable if the spot is on point, but it's not. While scenic, it feels overcrowded, and because it is overcrowded the hot tubs have detritus floating through. If the water is bubbly, it's not noticeable, but in the pools that are still, it's kind of gross. The steam room is incredibly small and was standing room only on our visit. And though we were told we could use the sauna when we arrived, we were later told that it was for lodging guests only.

Yelp
We enjoyed our stay as it was very peaceful and relaxing. There were many issues we had with the biggest one being the lack of communication and knowledge by the staff. We had never been to Santa Fe and would have appreciated being told the following...especially since our flight was delayed for 6 hours(We did call the spa to let them know that we would not be arriving until late and they said that was fine) so we did not even get to Santa Fe until almost midnight. One thing to know is that everything in Santa FE closes at 9pm. The airport closes at 11pm. SO when you arrive at the airport at 11:45pm the employees are not happy with you. Once we got our bags we went to get an Uber. But guess what...THERE WERE NO UBERS AVAILABLE. SO we went to find a Taxi. But guess what....There are NO Taxi's in Santa Fe, so no Taxis at the airport. We asked the rental car guy who literally told us they can't help us and to call a TAXI. No Taxi companies answered their phones. No Uber was even showing on the UBER App. I called the hotel and was basically told to figure it out. The Security Guard was very nice and helpful and tried calling someone he knew but they never showed up. Luckily an airline employee for United was nice enough to give 4 of us random visitors a ride to our locations. Luckily OJO Spa was only a 10 minute drive from the airport, He charged us $50, but at that point I didn't care and was over it. MY TAKEAWAY - RENT A CAR IF YOU ARE FLYING INTO SANTA FE Pros: - Every meal we had at The Blue Heron was incredible. -The Resort was beautiful and very relaxing - The Spa was incredible - The soaking pools were amazing Cons: - Employees are not helpful or knowledgable or just don't want to be bothered..we couldn't figure that one out. -We had bugs in our Casita, beetles and spiders, specifically in our bed and on the walls and floor of one of he bedroom. Told the front desk and they said they will be spraying for the bugs soon. - The white comforter on the bed had blood stains on it. - Our TV did not work - Drawer in Bathroom was broken and toilet paper holder was falling off the wall -The ice machine was broken and the ice chest next to it that they were supposed to fill with ice was always empty. - The puppy patch is a great ides, but the lady there was very rude to us when we walked in so we didn't stay long. - The next morning after arrival we went to the front desk to ask them how to get around the city if they have NO UBERS and NO TAXIS. She then proceeded to give us some business cards for car services which would have been great to know before arrival. We booked a car service (24 hours in advance) to go into town and the next morning we got a message saying they have another pick up and can we change our time. The same thing happen when we texted them for a ride back (again texted them 2 hours in advance for pick up). - The Spa has a shuttle that will pick you up and drop you off for $30. each way. We were not told about the shuttle until the day after we arrived and asked about the UBER Situation. - No one was interested in resolving any issue we had. All they did was apologize...no new comforter, no one to fix the TV, broken toilet paper holder, broken bathroom drawer, ice machine or even bring us some ice or direct us to somewhere where we can get some ice.
