Lovely checking in process. The lady on reception was very welcoming and gave us great advice about the local area and even a little pre-guide as to where to eat.|The hotel is very pleasant. The bed was extremely comfy! bathroom really nice.|On checking out, we asked the male receptionist if we could leave our bags in the hotel for a couple of hours, he hesitated and said “yea ok, when will you be back” I said, around 14:30. He took our bags. At no point did he state that the hotel would be closed before then. We were told at check in that reception is not manned from 21:00 daily. |At 14:17 we returned to the hotel to collect our bags, I couldnt see anybody in reception and pressed the intercom, which is diverted to a mobile. The male said he wouldn’t be back for 15mins because we told him 14:30. |we had a bus booked for 14:45. He was unapologetic and hung up . 5mins later another resident came to the hotel and questioned why we were outside. She let us in to wait in the lobby. A further 5mins passed and the receptionist walked in. He said absolutely nothing to us and opened the office door where our bags were. I said thank you and we left. Very poor customer service from what was such a lovely friendly and professional welcome by the lady on day one. good location, easy to walk between districts. The negative is that our bedroom was at the front of the hotel and directly opposite a rail track. Around 5am and at 6am the screeching sound of metal woke us as the trains went past. No amount of shutter or UPVC window could soften that sound!

We didn’t know what to expect from a 1* hotel that had good ratings and in fact it would be comparable to a standard european 3* hotel, and a good one at that. The staff was very helpful and communicative in advance. The room was a decent size and comfortable. It smelt a bit humid in the room upon entering but the smell quickly fades. The sound proofing could do with some work. The room rate was a bit in the high side but we discovered there was a jazz festival on the weekend we were staying. All in all, I would recommend the property.

Had a three night stay at the hotel Okako. Check in was smooth and the front desk offered us a lot of advice on Pintxos (which we took). We had a code to get in, which was nice, rather than having to remember a key. Our room was spacious with a big bed. Came with an iron and other good appliances. The bathroom was a good size and nicely decorated. Downstairs there was a coffee machine and some lovely complimentary snacks. I thought that was a nice touch. The locations is fantastic. Walking distance from some great shops and restaurants. Only negative was the door to the bathroom jammed and there was almost no natural light. We managed just fine with those. It is very expensive for what you get, but that may be a San Sebastián thing.

we stayed at this hotel, based on the pictures at booking .com . the photographs are photoshopped The personel is very friendly, but it is more like a hostel as a hotel. The rooms are big and clean , but the location is terrible, in front of your room is a railroad , so every half an hour a train . Also no breakfast and no permanence at reception . Nice paintings though. The place is ok, but this should be priced at maximum 100 euro , while they ask more than double. Not to be recommended,

Fantastic little place. Clean, neat, tidy, friendly staff, and free coffee. What is not to love? I will be staying here again next time I am in San Sebastian.

This little hotel is a great hidden gem in San Sebastian. The location is great, so close to the old town and the beaches. The hotel is well thought out and the rooms were very cute and charming. Because the hotel is small and family run, the front desk isn't 24hours which is perfectly fine (just something to be aware of) and they make it easy to get ahold of them should there be any issues like the one we had which was the code on the main door for one of the nights. However the hotel staff are accessible by WhatsApp and were super easy to communicate with and rectified our situation easily. The front desk staff were very friendly and gave us lots of recommendations and helped us organize an early morning taxi. I would highly recommend supporting this great local business over the giant chain hotels.

The hotel is within walking distance of the train and bus station and to every tourist attraction. The room and bathroom was small but very clean. The amenities in the room (water and glasses) and the coffee/espresso machine and tea, fruit, pastries in lobby were excellent. One thing I did not like was the smell of the ‘antique armoire’. It was stinky and, of course, I did not used it at all. Even with the doors closed the smell permeated into my luggage and my clothes that were hanging in the room. I carried the stinky smell to my new hotel as well. Other than that, I really liked the Okako Hotel and I would stay there again on my next visit. Donostia-San Sebastian is a beautiful place to visit!!

I loved this little hotel! I’d stay here again. The staff was beyond amazing. No keys to worry about as all door codes. Super fun little place.
