What a lovely garden! I enjoy walking through farms and gardens, as my husband's family are total green thumbs. This farm was really fun to walk through, as they had a lot to see; there's a maze for the kids, an apothecary garden with medicinal plants, an herb garden, a butterfly garden that our winged friends just flocked to while I was there, and of course, many beautiful specimens of lavender. The air was rich with its perfume.
We took the self-guided tour ($9.00/person). A garden lover would need about an hour to see it all. Signs at different parts of the garden explain how to grow lavender, the different species, and what it was used for in traditional medicine. I love the smell of lavender, and I'd say I appreciate it more now because of this stop.
The cafe has small pastries, drinks, and snacks, many of which have lavender in them. The lavender jelly preserve is stellar.
They also have a gift shop that carries many locally-made products and, of course, lavender products direct from the farm itself.
If you enjoy lavender, flower gardens, or are looking for something to do between wine tastings, I recommend this place.
