"Vibrant floodplains are best appreciated from a doors-off helicopter: flights head north toward the source of the vast inland river delta, offering bird’s-eye views of winding channels and water-laced islands. From the air there is a strong likelihood of wildlife sightings — Nile crocodiles sunning on riverbanks, pods of hippos, and herds of elephants moving through the waters — and visitors can even enjoy a drink on a private delta island with only their party and the sounds of true wilderness.
