Guests are required to remove their shoes and sleep on the floor. While the rooms do not feature traditional tatami flooring, guests sleep on the floor with futon without beds. This setup provides firm support, making it comfortable if you prefer a harder sleeping surface. The futons can easily be moved to create a spacious area for activities such as exercise, which is especially enjoyable for families with children.||I stayed at the Okayama View Hotel during my trip from Tokyo to Kyushu. After leaving Tokyo in the late afternoon, I wanted to travel as far as possible before stopping for the night, and Okayama proved to be a convenient choice. I was looking for budget-friendly accommodation and came across this hotel.|Unfortunately, the weather was drizzly, and carrying a large suitcase made the walk from Okayama Station to the hotel challenging, especially since I’m not a fast walker. However, this walk might not be an issue for those in good shape or traveling light in better weather. The next morning, I opted for a taxi back to the station, which was much easier.||The breakfast was a healthy buffet-style meal. Although the selection was somewhat limited, it was satisfying.||The hotel staff were professional and kind, and I was very satisfied with my stay, especially considering the price. ||That said, it’s important for potential guests to research the unique aspects of this hotel to ensure it aligns with their preferences.

Great stay in Okayama! The hotel's situation is great: between the train/bus station and the Castle and Park. Personal is really kind and smily. The room are clean and well equiped. The matress is good. Will come back when in Okayama 🍑✨️

I had a pleasant two-night stay at this hotel. It has plenty of personal touch, such as folded cranes and a postcard for you to send home to your family. The hotel is clean and well maintained.

We used Okayama as a base for a trip to Naoshima but ended up staying an extra night to explore Okayama as well. We arrived well before check-in time, but our rooms were ready for us. That was so great. The hotel is in a great location--an easy walking distance to the train station, the garden and castle, and the shopping and restaurant areas of the city. It's also close to the tram lines, although we just walked everywhere. The bed seemed pretty squishy when I first sat on it, but I slept like a baby both nights. The room itself, while small, had plenty of space for my stuff. Nice water pressure in the shower, too. Most of the staff had at least basic English, but not everyone was fluent. You could always get basic directions, but not necessarily more than that. The restaurant didn't have an English menu…or one with pictures, but there is a wide variety of restaurants, bars, and even tapas places nearby. Okayama itself has much less English than other cities that get more foreign tourism, but it's a really delightful place to stop--the garden is spectacular--or to use as a base while you're in the region. I'd certainly recommend the Okayama View Hotel while you're there.

Very nice hotel, a bit far from the station but the area is quiet and there’s a park next to it if you come with kids. Also there’s a convenience store right around the corner. Friendly staff. As for breakfast, I would have liked more options, as my toddler didn’t really eat anything other than rice, but the just made fish was delicious.

The location is good, close to the Tenmaya bus station and all sorts of shops are found in the vicinity. The room concept is also interesting. Wooden floor with futon sets so that you kind of feel staying at a ryokan. But what I didn’t like was the inflexibility of the hotel. The cleaner came around 12:20 to 13:00 everyday and regardless of what you do, you have to accommodate the cleaning schedule unless you decline the service. Because of this rigid scheduling, I thought the hotel could accommodate my request to check out at 12pm, one hour later than the designated check out time, which I think is accommodated by most of the hotels worldwide, especially when I know very well that the cleaning doesn’t start until 12:20. But I was asked to pay one hour overstay charge for this! I am not sure what to make of it, but I feel extremely generous giving 3 for this hotel.

I'd say that this is one of the best hotels I've stayed in in Japan over the years in terms of value and hospitality. Staff were wonderfully pleasant and went above and beyond to help me and offer assistance with any questions I had. Really convenient location, only a 10 minute walk from Okayama station set back on a nice, quiet street with plenty of eateries and conveniences on the doorstep. My room was spotlessly clean and the bed was gloriously comfortable! Bathroom was also well maintained with a lovely powerful shower and nice, fragrant shampoo!! Bed linen was immaculate and overall I had a great, relaxing stay at the hotel. Had some initial problems with the internet as needed to use my laptop and found that WiFi would only connect via my smartphone~ however staff were super quick to help fix this and provide a cable so that I could access the wired internet on my computer. Staff were also really helpful in giving me some maps and bus timetables. Overall I really enjoyed my stay at the Okayama View. It was perfect in terms of location for using Okayama as a base for exploring nearby Naoshima Island and Kurashiki due to the hotels proximity to the JR station. Also very convenient for walking to Okayama Castle and Korakuen Gardens (about 10-15 minutes). There's a handy shopping arcade only one block away with a few restaurants, shops and a 100 yen store. Really convenient for access to the airport as the airport bus operates to and from the train station. Overall I had a really enjoyable stay and I would definitely recommend the Okayama View as a great value, comfortable place to stay in the city. If I ever return to Okayama I would not hesitate to stay here again!

Pretty standard budget hotel. Just a good place to rest your head if that’s all you need. Pretty central to a lot of restaurants around the area, not too far a walk from Okayama station. Rooms have all the bits you need for an easy impromptu stay. They had a buffet breakfast available I think, but didn’t have it, but worth mentioning
